Let's Talk About Zero Suit Samus

Adam's sacrifice still sounds pretty damn dumb to me. Dunno how the Japanese writing could have saved that part.

 

It was pretty dumb, but I don't know much about that scene culture wise. It hurts the cause that I'm not actually Japanese.

 

Anything to do with dialog or culture you can probably hand wave with the Japan culture thing, it's the actions that can be defends. Samus' reaction to Ridley is a human reaction, not a Japanese one, or an American one, so it transcends the language barrier
Honestly, I doubt we'll be able to know if Other M is as bad in Japan, because we can't come at it from a native perspective. Things in English that sound awful to us sound really cool to a lot of Japanese people, language barriers are pretty good about that

 

Then can you explain Adam shooting Samus in the back for no reason? I'd like to know how the Japanese version of that explains that.

No your's was also dumb. Recklessly endangering your life to "show up an authority figure under his own rules" is borderline suicidal/incredibly stupid and considering the difficulty of the Hell Run... well... I guess your positive point makes sense. Partly in due to Samus not having an active Varia Suit to stop her from dying of heat.
