Since the "feeling" of death is dark, people fear that death might hurt them. Even if you were to die of natural causes, you still cannot tell what your body and mind may go through as you die. Then there is the thought of what is after death, whether you just disappear, meet your maker or become a ghost. That also leads to whether or not if you lived a full and good life. Did you do everything to make others happy as well as yourself? Did people like you and had you made some impact in your existence? Questions like that go unanswered and they are also questions that noone wants to know the answer to either. Besides, noone knows when they'll die and neither do they want to die, and death means end of your existence on Earth in one way or the only way--so that's a reasonable idea itself to scare the bejesus out of you.

If u would take everything electric (computers and all that) and throw them away could u live sameway as now?

What about new york to go dark, what people would do?

Is there real reason for life?

    Mayor questions what people asks.

Well, it's kinda hard on why we fear it. Maybe it can take away one's life. Or the fear of what happens to us after we die. But it can totally be different to other people.

I think the most fearfull part of Death to mankind is the unknown. Everyone, no matter their religious views, all have doubts at one time of their life. Then something happens, and they don't doubt anymore.

The worst part is leaving all that you hold dear. For sureley, Man is born into this world with nothing, and leaves with the experiences that he has made with all his friends and his family.

I have no great fear of death, not at the moment atleast, I feel neutral on the subject. I mean I know it's coming one day, i won't be stopping it, so I see no point in fearing or worrying about it, just LIVE for your life not for your death.

Everyone that i've met has always asked this, "What happens when i die? Will my life end there, or is there life after death?" .... and my answer "what do you think?" (i love making people think deeply about their own questions ^ ^)

First i'm not suicidle(sorry about the spelling i forgot how to spell that word).I atually don't care if i die right now or 10 years later. It's not just right now i've felt like this forever. It's not even that i haven't had a good.My life is super easy!!!!Well i have amazingly and surprisingly a lot of luck!!!

The only thing i would miss is well lol.......Kingdom Hearts(Honestly). Some people ask why don't you care or how can you live your life like that?Well my life is probally easier than others.I'm not worried as much i can just live life.EX.Some people will not go out at night because of all sorts of things. However i don't care say for example they tell you ohhh there's a killer on the loose in...uhhh....Central Park(LMAO).I'll still go to the park...not because i'm dumb but because i'm not affraid of what's going to happen.

*On another note please don't De-Rep me for this!!!!*

    talk about your necro bump...

anyway. I'm mostly scared of the dying part. Is it painful or is it quick? Will I die young or old? Those are the questions that haunt me in the back of my mind....

I laugh because I remeber when this thread started.

I fear mostly the fact that I may not have done everything I wanted. Also, I know people would miss me, and I may be leaving behind important things. The pain thing isn't really an issue for me.

I'm afraid of never seeing my friends and family again. The very thought of my mother suffering for me brings me to tears, also the very thought of what will people say or think about me after dying gives me great curiousity. According to teologists when people die and are safe in God's eyes, God gives them the chance to visit their dear ones just to see how they're doing.. it'll be a wonderful thing to see the people you love but it will also be painful if they can't see you or you cannot get the chance to hold them in your arms.

Okay to be honest I will have to go with "all of the above". If I ever got the chance to choose a way to die it will be sleeping and the uknown gives me the chills..what will become of me when I die? Will I go to heaven or just rot in hell? or in limbo? it's all confusing to me.

Please go dig up one 200-year old corpse that hasn't decomposed to prove that it's even possible for you to be remotely right.

When I think about death, it kinda scares me a bit. I mean, just blacking out and never waking up again is quite a scary thoughts for me. Also, when you die, people may remember you but they're eventually gonna move on. As selfish as it sounds, I don't want to be forgotten after a few weeks or w.e. It also depends on the way you die - if you get shot and other things like that.

I know I'm going to die sometime, nothing is going to change that, but how I die, when I die and after I die is quite daunting. :v

I would like to see that too.

All of those, actually. Personally, I'm terrified of death due to certain reasons I won't go into, but I do understand it's a natural course of life. Just the thought of how I'll die, not being able to see my family and friends, and what comes after death scares me. Lately, I've actually been thinking about what would happen right after death. Just something that comes to mind and it scares me even more. Sure, I could stop thinking about it so I stop being scared but I think a lot and even if I do stop at that moment, I'll think about it even more later on.

I've actually had a near death experience when I was seven, and the entire time I just remember my mom bursting into tears, telling my dad to call the ambulance. I remember other stuff too but that's the main thing I can remember because it just seemed as though the last thing I would see is my mom crying and my dad trying to stop the bleeding that was coming from my head.

And this turns into a religious debate in 3..2..1.

No but seriously, death is very frightening. I just can't really imagine how it would happen. I gues it would be kind of like going to sleep, without ever waking up. That alone freaks me out.

So you rot if you go to Heaven?
    lol

    Anyways,
What really scares me is what happens after death since there's no solid answer.
If there is no afterlife, I can't imagine my conscience just ceasing to exist. No more thoughts, no more dreams, no more thinking, no more feelings. For some reason, just thinking about that freaks me out.
If there is an afterlife, then no matter if I'm going to Heaven, Hell, stuck in Purgatory, or meet up with Zeus on Olympus, I still can't fathom what it'd be like as a spirit. It scares the hell out of me in that aspect.

Of course, the usual things (pain, leaving behind family and friends) scare me as well, I'd rather go peacefully in old age, but the chances of that is pretty slim.
