Let's face it, a lot of people on KHV are audiophiles and hipsters. It's a fact. So, let's share our findings and spread good music across the earth like a fire spreads across gasoline. Yeah!

Obviously, we need to make these posts matter and differentiate it from the "What Song Are You Listening To?" thread. So here are some rules:

-Your post must contain the name of the album and the artist that made it, preferably the year it released as well
-A link to a sample song from said album (youtube, soundcloud, the band's site, whatevs. It must be easy to access)
-A brief description while you like the album
-Make sure the album you're posting has not already been posted. If it has, simply like the post and/or quote it to add more to the description.
    -NO DOWNLOAD LINKS ALLOWED.
(Suggestion, but not required: Keep it to albums you've recently found. I don't want a whole lot of Queen, ya know?)

-IF YOU VIOLATE ANY OF THESE RULES, I WILL PERSONALLY REPORT YOUR POST FOR SPAM-

    Example:

    Album: Night Visions
    Artist: Imagine Dragons
    Year of release: 2012
Why I like it: I don't know if anyone here has heard Imagine Dragons before, but I've only recently gotten to know them through their many EPs. When this album leaked, I was hooked. The diversity, emotion, and power behind each and every one of the songs just made me fall in love. It starts off with a dubstep-esque song and transitions perfectly. If you like cheery and diverse alt-rock, then I HIGHLY recommend this album. It may be my favorite album of the year.

Note: To post video links, you don't need a special HTML code with XenoForo. Just paste the link.

    Now, let's share some music!

EDIT: Thread liked by Jayn, and Forsaken approves. Let's not ruin this opportunity guys and share our passions to people we spend every day with.

    Album: Making Mirrors
    Artist: Gotye
    Year of release: 2011
Why I like it: There's a sad amount of truth in the fact alot of people only know of him from his song "Somebody that I used to know" and I admit I started off the same, but I decided to my homework, and his music is actually really ****ing amazing, good variety in albums and all have a good beat.

    Album: Get it Together
    Artist: Jackson 5
    Year of release: 1973
Why I like it: It's an energetic, funky, soulful album that makes you wanna move. Catchy songs as well of course. I could've named some other J5 Albums or any of Michael Jackson's Albums, but I just wanted to go with one that was more obscure, because you're less likely to have heard of it and it still sounds pleasing to the ears.

    Here's the titular track:

The greatest thrash metal album recorded to this day.

    Album: Weightless
    Artist: Animals as Leaders
    Year: 2011
Why: Everything this band does is instrumental greatness. A lot of stuff in this album is heavy, but it's not because of the classic(and sometimes) boring "chugging" that many bands use. This band exclusively uses 8 string guitars(there's no bassist because of this) so every song will have a tonal range exceeding that of nearly every band out there. Oh and this is progressive metal so it can get pretty jazzy.

The song below is one of their slower songs but...the only thing I really need to say about it is "Dat outro".

LOVE IT! Definitely seems like awesome gaming music is ahoy.

I've had a weird experience with this guy... He was on all the time at work, so I got sick of it. Then I saw "The Trilogy I Used To Know" video and got hooked to the song we all know. But I STILLLL didn't download the album. Nope, I didn't download it till I heard "Eyes As Mirrors." Now I have it and love it.

    ----------

    Next rec from me:

    Band: The Royal Concept
    EP: Self-Titled
    Year of release: 2012
Why I like it: After years of vidya game OSTs subconsciously making me love cheery, electric sounds, most of my music consists of one or more of those elements. The song below honestly describes everything I like about it. I first heard them on Sirius XM's Alt Nation station and I was like "WHAT IS THIS?!?!?" and I've been hooked since and proud of it. Can't wait to listen to it on my drives to work.

Another song I like is the very first song I heard.. Yes it sounds like Phoenix, but that's a good thing!:

    Album: Up From Below
Artist: Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeroes
    Year of release: 20009
Why I like it: They've got a very gypsy, folky, warm sound that I adore. and it's got a really powerful message, of coming out from the dark past and trying to change. so i'm a hippie, blablabla. still freakin love this LP.
