What was your grandparents role in WWII?

nonno on my dad's side was with Pattons 3rd army.

Think my nonno on my mom's side was somewhere in Japan.

 

My grandpa on my dad's side helped liberate concentration camps. =)
And that's all I know, unfortunately. ._.

 

I never knew my grandfathers, but i think my grandmothers were both children evacuated to foster homes.

 

Either in Africa or slaves.

 

...I think my grandad died in the air force? Im not sure, that might have actualy been my uncle o__o; xD I have bad memory, and my parents dont talk much about their parents, mainly because my mum was mistreated as a kid >>

 

Nanno built a hospital and had some big title in meds, and Granpa Adams flew a bomber :3​

 

My grandparents were weak. B|

 

Guadalcanal on my mom's side, air force on my dad's.

 

Slavery was abolished in 1862 my good sir.

 

Ditto to that. He was alive - died a few years ago - but he was barred from seein' all his kids familes for his aggressive ways.

I can't remember what contingent my grandpa was apart of, but he was a sniper. ****ing awesome man.

My Grandpa on my mom's side fought in the war for Britain, and my Grandma on my mom's side was stationed in Japan as a nurse. That's how they met actually...

My Grandparents on my dad's side did nothing. Lol.

 

My grandfather from my mother's side was part of the group evacuating Helsinki during the bombings (1944 I think). And he was in boot camp, and almost went to the frontier, but the Continuation War ended before that.

Mom's mother was forced to flee from Karelia when the Winter War started.

I don't think my dad's parents were involved in WW2 at all...​

During WWII none of my grandparents were even teenagers.

 

Thats the same with me.

 

I know my grandpa on my Dad's side was drafted as a teen (army) and was stationed somewhere in Germany but I can't remember where exactly... I'll have to ask him. Though I do know he recieved the bronze star medal and saw combat.

The grandpa on my mom's side... don't think he served. After all, he's from Italy.
