    *Korrasami

yuri is the only pure love

I really liked it! Makorra is still ehh to me, but the last hug was pretty cute. Korra is the Queen of Bad Decisions though, and Mako isn't doing much to stop her with those...

Unalaq is sketchy as hell though, and it definitely looks like he's out to ruin Tonraq's life some more. The twins are pretty great, and Beskna is my OT3. CLOUDBABY SIBLING TRAVELS MAKE ME SO HAPPY but so sad since Katara will be lonely again :C

Jinora's spiritual connection is also really interesting. I like that she'll potentially have more of a role this time around (and that she might get to meet Aang ohhhhh my goooood). Looking forward to next week already.

Korra is a dumb ass biitch and her father needs to whoop that ass.

Seriously she makes nothing but bad decisions. Also Mako needs to get back with Asami cause Korra is a lame.

Yeaaaaaaaaaaa, opening that gate seemed like a really bad idea.

GEE GUYS, I WONDER IF UNALAQ IS SOME SORT OF VILLIAN?

That was super cool actually, except when Korra acted like a giant bitch like three separate times

I really like the whole story about spirituality being tied with environmentalism for what happened with Korra's dad. Just seems so much more interesting than the story in Season 1. Eska is awesome: they utilized her blank expression for making little moments more enjoyable. And I hope to see more Asami events. I like her a lot more than Korra so far, but only because the latter is being kinda bitchy

    So I watched it.
I have a ton to say about it but I don't feel like typing so I'll leave it at this: Korra's a ***** and all that forced drama is not working for me at all and needs to go away now. I still hate that she and Mako are in a """"""""""""""""""""relationship""""""""""""""""""""" because I love Asami the relationship does not work at all and is incredibly forced just like the drama. And Korra's a terrible character. Fight me.

    edit: so basically this

I love the exploration of the spirits. We've known that they are a big part of this world from the beginning but we've never gone in depth or focused on them outside of a few episodes. Literally everything before this has been politics and slam-bang bending action. It's nice to to do something different. Also the spirits are animated gorgeously. Can't wait to see more of those.

I also like central idea behind this (all that talk about consumerism and how it's affected the spirits and all that) and I can't wait to see how Asami and her company plays into this if it does at all. I hope it does. It would be a huge missed opportunity for them to not do that. I think they will, though. That eccentric water tribe guy she had a meeting with and what he did at the party thing seemed like a strong indicator that they will.

All in all I thought this was a good start. I hope by the end of this Korra will get over this high school drama "FUCK YOU DAD YOU DON'T KNOW ME" shit, or at least the writers will give her a reason to be like that. Korra's character is the biggest problem in all of this, really.

I'll just say: the main reason writers make characters like this is so they can progress into someone better. In Korra's case, her immaturity will no doubt change with her spiritual journey, something that will force her to grow up and think of matters not concerning her or what she wants.

And somewhat of a generalization, but Korra so far sounds a lot like a realistic teenager.

That's no excuse for bad writing. The problem with Korra is not that she's annoying, it's that all of that bitching she did was completely unfounded . You could say that the reason she's like that is because she wants acknowledgement or something, but that's coming dangerously close to inserting things that aren't there, or that should be there but are never touched upon. The only scene where any of that is justified is where she wants a new mentor. That's the only one. And I'm positive like you said that by the end of this she will be in a better place, but the problem is that they will have forced her there without beginning her character arc in any sound way. It's inconsistent and sloppy.

And yeah, that's the problem, she's too much like a realistic teenager. It's like they hired pissed-off teenagers to write themselves. I'm mainly talking about all of that "taking sides" nonsense.

Such a cop out though, "Let's write a bad character and slowly make them better, that way no one can say we didn't improve our characterisation." People should grow, but it shouldn't be so blatantly obvious that they're going to grow.

this is one of the main reasons I actually DO like Korra, because as cringe-worthy as she is, she's more like a realistic teenager than most characters. She tries to be mature and make her own decisions when she really has no idea how to and it backfires and she's gonna have to learn from it. I just hope the entire process of her learning from it is good, and doesn't feel forced or rushed or anything.

This is what bothered me too. She did have development back in S1 (her actually taking Tenzin's advice & meditating, not taking Amon head on after being captured by Tarrlok and all that), but it just seemed to be thrown ignored these two episodes and is making her seem more stagnant than she actually should be. I wouldn't say her being mad at her dad is too unfounded, but she was definitely reacting much more to it than she should have been. Granted, this is still only 2/14 episodes, and they'll hopefully take some time to get more in-depth about why she's being ornery about her Avatar duties and what she thinks being the Avatar means. But they also should have raised that at least once or twice in the past season so we could see "oh she is feeling insecure about her role as Avatar and is trying to live up to Aang/find her place and what it truly means to be the Avatar"

Which, I guess that's what they'll be exploring more this season, but without some kind of indicator that this has been bothering her, she is definitely coming across more bitchy than they might be intending her to be.

Also more Asami would be a godsend, she's one of my favorites and I do wanna see what she's gonna do with Future Industries and how she's recovering from her father's situation. She should also talk to Korra for longer than two minutes.

HOLY SHIT GUYS I DIDN'T SAY I LIKE THE WRITING FOR HER

I'm just trying to give another perspective about it. I don't agree with how she's portrayed, just trying to figure it out.

I don't even watch the show since what I have seen was awful, just awful.

I was just talking about character writing in general...

I haven't seen it yet, but I feel a little disappointed from what I've read so far . . . Discouraging. Oh well, whenever I find a place/time to watch it, we'll see if I still feel the same.
