Kara of course kept on going down the path of annoyance thinking something had transpired between him and Tessa. He let out a sigh "Damn it, Kara, the joke is really starting to annoy me. Nothing happened between us and I am honestly getting tired of this bloody joke." Conrad said unable to keep the anger completely out of his voice. The insinuations were wrong and they cut deep into him he didn't exactly show it but they hurt him. Then he heard Tessa next to him she was going back into the woods and since everyone else decided to go to town he figured it best to stick with Tessa, leave none on their own and all.

He followed Tessa without saying a thing, when Tessa hugged the cool bark of the tree he was rather surprised it was an odd thing to do then again she hadn't exactly been understanding of all their customs either so there was a bit of a cultural divide, it was rather interestinghe had always wanted to learn new things. "It's not as funny a joke anymore once you're part of the target, isn't it?" He said his voice calm, he wasn't angry at her, especially now that she understood how he had felt on the carriage. "Because people have intentions some better than others and their actions might not always reflect their intentions. Good intentions might be taken as bad intentions because of the actions taken, like on the carriage..." He said his voice trailing, why did he have to bring that up again.

Then something he didn't exactly expect happened. He heard a voice one he didn't recognise. He looked rather odd and Conrad remained guarded with this stranger who introduced himself as Rayyad. Conrad decided to return the favour. "I'm Conrad. Just Conrad." He stated simply.

Tessa winced at Conrad's words; despite the tone they still irritated her, like bee stings on her skin. "Were the spiders part of your good intentions?" She asked quietly, before nearly stumbling into Rayyad. Finally, someone saying something that made sense to her. She smiled a little, waving her hand before introducing herself. "I'm Tessa. Just Tessa." She decided to follow Conrad's lead since her creator momentarily forgot Tessa's entire time. "You live in the woods too?" She asked, waving her hand at the area around them. To be honest, it was slightly thrilling to meet someone who felt the same inhibitions towards their own race as she did.

"I came from a forest a ways to the north from here." She continued.

Rayyad ignored the heavily armoured man, he was probably just another city person, not nearly as interesting as the girl "I don't exactly live in the woods, I just like wandering around here. These woods are much nicer than the rainforests of my birthplace" He explained "Nice to meet you Tessa, I wonder if you'd like to come visit my home someti- GAAHH!" Rayyad stepped back in shock, pointing aghast at the man. he hadn't been paying attention, but now he recognised this despicable man. "YOU!" he shrieked "YOU MURDERED THEM! YOU KILLED THEM IN COLD BLOOD! YOU COULD HAVE LET THEM FLEE BUT YOU DIDN'T!" Rayyad was hysterical now, and the woods seemed to be reflecting this. From the undergrowth rustling came, skittering shadows could be seen "You heartless *******, I was only trying to scare you, I didn't want anyone to get hurt!" From the woods could be seen glowing malicious eyes, and behind Rayyad a dark shadow approached. The dark creature slowly came into view, it crawled along the forest floor on eight spindly legs, dragging an enormous abdomen. The creature's head bore eight angry eyes and mandibles that dripped with venom "Shadowweaver!" Rayyad called out, the creature shot forth a stringy web at conrad, and pulled him back towards its mouth, where it wrapped the helpless man in silk with its mandibles. Rayyad turned to Tessa "Really sorry about this, but you'll run away if I don't" He shot webs from his hands, which encapsulated Tessa and held her down, so she could not run, or even move her arms. "Shhh, please don't scream, I'm going to take you back to my house. You'll love it, I'm sure" With that, he hefted her over his shoulder and gestured for Shadowweaver, who carried Conrad, as they strode into the forest.

With Laurentinus and Lumen dealt with Shyra went into another room, where she expected to find Alice and Tessa, but found neither. Conrad was missing too. By the five realms, where were they? Shyra was rather agitated. Did they sneak away? Did they not like her generosity? She'd paid for their rooms and food, and they just threw it back in her face. Slightly angry, she walked out into the village. She ought to buy some provisions for the cave expedition, if they actually got around to doing it.

Conrad had been right to be guarded about this stranger. He answered Tessa's remark regarding the spiders and good intentions "No, just let myself go too much..." He said with a rather saddened tone. Then this stranger started to go one as to how he lived in rainforests but that these forests were much nicer. He invited Tessa to visit his home sometime. Funny how Conrad had been accused of wanting to find a mate, this guy wasn't even hiding it. Oh well why did he care about that. Then this guy started to freak out at the sight of him.

Conrad only stared with a darkened expression on his face. "Tessa... run.... now!" He shouted, the man was going absolutely mad about how he had killed the spiders while he could have let them flee, by the Guardian was everyone just going to yell at him for that now? "Oh of course you just wanted to scare us away and not get anyone hurt, yet you send others so your own skin isn't on the line. I may be a heartless ******* for killing these spiders, but atleast they're off to the afterlife together. Not one left behind to suffer the loss of his mates." Conrad retorted as he drew his greatsword, he had enough of this man already. And this time it would self-defence and defending others. However shadows appeared on the forest floor and the skittering sound.

Conrad had the intention of charging this ******* and end this little incursion before it had got even started. However it was not to be so as he started to move he felt sticky silk fall over him and Conrad was struggling against the silk to free himself but he was janked to the ground, his blade had fallen from his grasp but still stuck to the silk. He was dragged towards the spider and as he was dragged towards the truly titanic spider he struggled against the bonds a few small strands snapping but at large the silk held. Conrad futily struggled as the spider secured him. He looked towards Tessa whom this ******* was holding. "I'm sorry...... I'm sorry...." He whispered looking at her, feeling this had all been his fault while part of this was just bad luck. "Let her go damn it, I killed those spiders, she doesn't have anything to do with this!" He shouted, but he knew he wasn't in a position for demands.

Baldomar just listened to the girl with a rather amused look on his face. "Well everyone is like that when they grow up, they don't feel like they'rep repared to fly out and be independant adult in this world. You can't prepare and learn everything some of it is just falling and getting back up but you can learn a lot of the survival skills. I could teach you a few things about that, like which mushrooms to eat and which ones not to eat if you don't want your intestines on the floor." Baldomar stated with a laugh, it was one of his favourites, then again that bloody Greenbeard was a ******* and had found a mushroom he didn't know. "Well, I don't really trust people all too much, Kellan sure, he's my mate. Now ain't that roight?" He called over to Kellan "I wouldn't sit around to see if it happens, but rather prepare for it so when it does happen you'll not be off as bad and atleast save yerself, little girl."

Once more during the carriage ride Baldomar had been sleeping like a rock, he just didn't care at all whatsoever. He loved hiking and was a bit saddened he had to hold back for the others then when they finally arrived there was something about old roads and he didn't really pay attention then
Kellan asked them to choose either left or right some signpost to the right said M. Baldomar just started to look around for he wanted to make an informed decision like any responsible adult would at an election.

Anthea was not sure if she wanted Baldomar to teach her anything. She wasn't sure if she should trust him, he gave her mix signals. In some ways he was seeming he was being nice, but from seeing him earlier he just seemed like he liked to step on peoples toes. That being said was anything he said something he should take into consideration. He advised her to be prepared it, it sounded like a good idea in general, she just didn't know how. Perhaps in this adventure she would learn how to deal with everything.

Anthea retreated to her quiet corner for the carriage ride, keeping out of the way. There seemed to be little conversation to be had until they got to the location and started heading down the road. For some reason they were in a rush to get to this place, but the man did not know how to get there. Well that was stupid. Anthea paced around, looking at everything around the area but not for any particular reason. She didn't feel educated enough to bother putting her input into which way they went, so instead she walked to the rubble on the one road and pick up a rock. She flipped the stone around in her hand, examining it, fidgeting with it, just keeping herself busy while others talked about which direction they should go.

Laurentinus rolled his eyes as Kara approached and spoke at first. In the end she pretty much told him to buy her breakfast. As much as he wished to refuse, he was still somewhat of a gentleman. "Fine, order what you want, but not too expensive because I have things I need the money for too thank you very much." Ren's tone was slightly irritated but what else could you expect from him. He then turned to the baker. "Can I have a warm roll, and whatever the lady wants." He said giving Kara a slight nod telling her to go ahead and order. As they waited for the food he turned to Kara in awkward conversation. "So... are you looking forward to going to the caves in a bit?" He asked out of attempt for conversation.

Kara picked out a small roll stuffed with ham and cheese, chewing on it slowly as she examined their surroundings while Laurentinus paid for their breakfast. She hadn't realized how tired she was once the food filled her rumbling stomach, and rubbed at her eyes with her free hand, the other clutching the sack. "You know, I wouldn't have minded sharing that stupid score, if Shyra had only just asked." she said, staring up at the sky. "But just because I'm here, she assumes what's mine is everyone's. How is that fair?" She swung the sack gently back and forth, chewing on her lower lip. "Nothing has ever been given to me. Nothing's ever been mine." At least not without a price tag.

"Whatever. Do whatever you want with the money." She told
Laurentinus, hoisting the bag over her shoulder. "I'll quit bothering everyone so much and go make myself useful." Whoa, where had that come from? Maybe Conrad's words had gotten to her more then she thought. She shook her head and turned away, setting off down the street in search of....something.

Tessa had been smiling, until Rayyad began to panic upon seeing Conrad. She put her hands up, trying to calm the man like a skittish deer, when the giant spider appeared behind him. Tessa reached for her magic in order to protect herself and her traveling companion, when Conrad was covered in web, and the same happened to her. She didn't struggle; this hadn't been the first time she had been in this situation. Struggling only helped the web ensnare you more.

    She could hear
Conrad apologizing somewhere close to her, but the web was sticking to her hair and she was unable to turn her face away from Rayyad's, who was also apologizing as he picked her up, following the spider deeper into the woods. You know, I would have come to see your home if you had just asked. She thought to herself, shutting her eyes in order to keep from getting a rather awkward view of the stranger.

She didn't dare speak as he ran through the forest, to keep herself from biting her tongue. And though she would never admit it out loud, she had been touched that
Conrad tried to bargain for her release.

Laurentinus listened to the girl somewhat curious of what her story was. He didn't even really question where the money came from when Shyra gave it to him, he was just grateful to have it. He looked down at the small sack in his hand as he slipped it into his pocket, giving it back would be counterproductive on all their parts given Shyra might not like that and it left him pretty low on money. "I will tell you back, when this is all over and I have enough money to do so, I will pay you back for everything she took." He offered her. "It wasn't fair for her to do that, but a lot of us came here with next to nothing so the money to start was helpful. Thank you for finding that." He told her.

However things seemed to go sour when it came to everything.
Kara seemed to be getting really annoyed and went to leave, claiming to be finding something useful to do. Laurentinus was not willing to let things end on that note. "Wait!" He called out after her, running the best he could in his armour in order to catch up. "What makes you think you haven't already done something useful. You helped give us all the start we needed for this new adventure by obtaining that money, however you did it. I am very grateful for that, and I will pay you back. You don't have to go off on your own. Besides it isn't like I am doing something useful, at least let me join you. Though if you don't want me around, I understand that too." It isn't like anyone else ever wants me around. Laurentinus finished his sentence with a rather depressing thought. He just hopped the girl wouldn't run away again.

It should be no surprise that Lumen has gotten the best sleep out of anyone on this mission so it made sense that he was a bit dishearten when he actually had to get up. He'd reach the pinnacle of comfort, a state no man has ever reached before. Leaving this state now would be madness. Which is why instead of getting up right away he took a few more moments to soak in all the comfort, embrace it, savor it while he could.

When Laurentius had spoken to him, he'd accomplished his goal of enjoying pinnacle of comfort. Having done that, he slowly made his way out of bed. Just because he enjoyed the comfort for a bit longer didn't changed how he didn't want to get out of bed. Regardless of that he did and made sure to grab the bag of coins and headed out. Now as for where he went, hmm he decide to go to the blacksmith cause why not.

"Oh no, I think you misunderstand" Rayyad replied to Conrad "I'm only going to take her back to my home in the caves. But I need you for a different reason" he explained as he took them through the forest "See, I need someone to do a, uh, job. Not a nice job, which is why I've chosen you, Conrad the Killer. That's what the spiders call you. They also call you even meaner names, but I won't repeat those" Rayyad scowled playfully at Shadowweaver the massive spider "Too bad the other girl isn't here, the thief. Kara the Killer. Anyway, yeah, trust me, if I could go out that far I would have tried to scare you away myself, but I'm kinda restricted" looking at Tessa he frowned "Are you uncomfortable there? Really sorry, but I don't want you to run like all the others, we're close, don't worry. I'll make you some tea when we get there"

    [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]
Kara and Laurentinus were rudely interrupted by the sudden appearance of an armoured man accompanied by some Eredanos Regional Guards. "Excuse me fellows, you're new around here, correct? I saw you arrive yesterday in your carriage and I feel I should give you a warning, and question your inexplicable appearance" the man stated with authority "I am Lord Arval Galaharram, Commander of the Varewyn Regional Guard. That means I'm more important than you. Do you know anything about the events around the Darklight Caverns? Do you know the strange dark-skin man who wanders around the forest? More importantly, what is your group's purpose in this village?" Arval questioned relentlessly

Gertrude welcomed the strange people from the previous night into the common room and, after recieving coin from Sanderson, gave them their breakfast. Bacon and eggs, cooked perfectly. "If you need anything else, just ask" she told the group. The common room had several other patrons, mostly merchants and travellers. However, one figure was very mysterious. He wore a long black cloak and had long black hair. He had heavy armour with moon insignias covering it, and wielded a truly enormous sword, one so massive it must have been impossible to wield effectively. Suddenly, the man stood up, sweeping his long cloak behind him, and lunged forward, grabbing the plate of bacon and eggs from Aedan
"Aha!" the man exclaimed "The Night Knight strikes again!" he smirked as he held up the plate triumphantly
"What are you doing young man?" Gertrude scolded "Give that man back his breakfast now!"
"NEVER!" The man exclaimed. He seemed to exclaim dramatically everything he said "I am the greatest villain the land has ever known!"
    "Who are you?"
"You must have heard of me, THE NIGHT KNIGHT!"
    "That's a stupid name"
"SILENCE WOMAN! Or I shall slice you in twain!"
"I'd like to see you try, can you even lift that sword?"
    "I CAN TRY!"

Conrad was rather uncomfortable being carried around by the giant arachnid. This bloke explained to him that he only needed Tessa in his home in the caves, he made a note of that. Whatever happened he needed to stay alive if only to get her out of there. So he swallowed the smart-ass remark about Rayyad not doing his own damn work and just have others do the dirty work. It'd probably be better not to piss him off, after all he needed to stay alive and as much as he hated it, he felt like his life now depended on the whim of this man. "Well, what is it that I gotta do for you then?" He asked politely, if he had to do some job then he might as well know what he was going to get into and maybe find ways to stall enough before the others would come for them. Damn it all, just damn it all, what if he hadn't followed Tessa she would have been all alone here. This was all his fault Conrad the Killer a name he would have been proud of in the army, but now it was weighing down like a mark of shame, not because he had damned himself, but also because he had damned Tessa. He felt like it had been the biggest bloody mistake of his life to come to this society. All he did was damning others.

Kara turned, opening her mouth to say...well she wasn't really sure. Yes, Laurentinus was thanking her, and while she wanted thanks she didn't want to have to say that she wanted thanks. She just wanted them to say thanks....oh good gods she was such a woman. Her thoughts were rudely interrupted by the voice of a man who was apparently standing behind her. A city guard. A typical city guard. She crossed her arms, tapping her foot until the man was done speaking before smiling sweetly. "I didn't realize you thought you were more important then His Lordship, Duke Rention of the Western Seas." She turned and curtseyed to Laurentinus, hiding her wicked smile as she bowed her head. "My Lord, I apologize for this man acting so coarsely. He did not mean to insult your royal person, and I humbly beg that you forgive him for his simple ways."

    She winked at
Laurentinus before turning around, staring at Arval. "Lord Rention was traveling under the guise of a simple city guard in order to hide his royal person. He is here to survey his lands without drawing attention to his person." she sighed. "You might be wondering why I'm telling you this." She drew closer to the guard commander, fluttering her eyelashes. "Well, we've received word that there's going to be an attempt on his person, and we need to make sure this city is adequately armed in case of an assassination attempt." She smiled slyly at Arval. "Though I'm sure such a handsome soldier as yourself wouldn't have any trouble with one little assassin." She purred.

Tessa shifted, then froze, the web yanking on her hair. She settled for simply trying to talk her way, and Conrad's, out of this.

"You shouldn't make him do this on his own, he has a better chance of succeeding if we both go." She tried to reason with
Rayyad. "We could all have tea together, and you could show me your lovely home, and then we could both go and complete it, and come back and you could show me around the forest."

    She offered
Rayyad a small, sweet smile, though her lip trembled. It wasn't because of fear, or really even anything. She was just having a hard time breathing as the webbing restricted her movement.

Rayyad smiled at Tessa, she was making some sense "Oh I'm so sorry, is the web making it hard for you to breath? I'm so sorry, I didn't want to hurt you" He lightly loosened the web, just enough that it still kept hold of her. They eventually arrived at a large stone door "Hang on, this is my way into the caves, much better than the other way" he waved his hands in some sort of ritualistic fashion, and the stone door slid open. Rayyad and Shadowweaver brought their captives in, and Rayyad closed the door behind them. Once they were safely trapped, Rayyad removed the webbing "Sorry again, but it was necessary. Uh. Well. Welcome to Arak'Un! It's an ancient kingdom based within the mountains between Tyrrus and Hirokir. Everyone's long dead now, but I am directly related to the last king of Arak'Un. That makes me the Webber Prince, The most powerful shaman in this world" Rayyad's voice suddenly became deeper and resonating in that last part, and he seemed shocked at himself that it had happened "... I'm not sure I really want to be the Webber Prince, not with what responsibilities come with it" Rayyad smiled uncomfortably. He looked around the damp, dark cave "Uh... let's head to my room, it's much better than this. Also I'll tell you more about why I've brought you here" With that, he began to walk down the tunnel, gesturing for the others to follow him.

This guy was a bloody idiot. He acted like he wouldn't know anything about the guard, how it worked, did he see the symbol on his armour? He was part of the city guard just in a different area. This guy was acting so fricken high and mighty when he really wasn't that great. If he was all that then he wouldn't be in the damn city guard. It was a starting point for Ren, he wasn't even planning to stick in it for long.

    Laurentinus was shocked when
Kara started speaking, however there wasn't much he could do about it without getting them into trouble. He guessed he would have to learn to play along. Originally Laurentinus was going to stand at attention, but now he was standing tall and proud. "It is a pleasure to Lord Arval however I have not time to chat about these matters in which you speak. I have more pressing matter that I must take care of. My secretary and I must be off. I have a rather important meeting to attend to soon and I must not be late for it." Laurentinus explain in his most stuck up voice. "I will trust you and your men are well equipped to take care of this assassin, or else perhaps I need to send some of my own men to patrol this town while I am in my meeting. Either way I am sure I will see you around. Good day gentlemen." With that Laurentinus turned on his heals and began to walk away.

    Lord Arval Galaharram:
The guard commander was rather confused by the performance
"Oh, Duke Rention, Apologies I didn't recognise you, your lordship. The disguise is very effective clearly!" Arval bowed, internally he was scouring his memories, trying to remember exactly who Duke Rention was. "The dark-skin Hirokiri man who's been seen in the forest, he must be this rumoured assassin! Those savages from Hirokir, just the kind of people to try and assassinate our nobility, slippery buggers, if you'll excuse my language your lordship" Arval stated "Yes, we'll make sure you're kept safe, my lord" Arval saluted as the duke and his secretary strode away. Only when they were out of sight did he question what exactly a royal duke was doing in a tiny village like this, and what he was doing with such strange company
"I've never heard of a Duke Rention before, sir" one of the guards pointed out. Arval grumbled
"Well that's because you don't mingle with the high classes, like me. I wouldn't expect you to know such high nobility. Duke Rention is Lord of the Western Seas! A powerful Admiral" Arval made up on the spot
"I've never heard of the Western Seas either sir"
"Stop talking, you're embarrassing yourself" Arval was not willing to admit that he had no idea what the Western Seas were.

    Bjorn the Blacksmith:
Bjorn wiped his brow as he finished bending the steel into shape, and dipped it in the oil to temper the blade. Looking up he noticed a customer
"Aye, what are you 'ere for lad? Come to take a look at me wares?" He wiped his hands and walked over to the counter, where a lot of weapons and armour was on display

Rayyad seemed to atleast have a little bit of a soft spot for Tessa or that's what he gathered from him loosening the webbing a little. He didn't say a thing, he doubted he would get the same treatment especially after the freak out about those three spiders, then again he had been ignored after he had been secured anyways and while this bloke said he had a job for him he didn't have a very good feeling about it all. And he didn't exactly have the same problems or atleast to the same extent as Tessa since his armour had given him just that little bit of extra room to breathe, but he bit through it.

They had been carried throughout the forest and Tessa had tried bargaining with Rayyad, he was touched by this gesture, but thought it wiser not to say anything. They entered a cavern through a large stone door and when it sealed behind them something unexpected happened. Rayyad removed the webbing freeing both Tessa and himself again, first order of business for Conrad was grabbing his greatsword and putting it back in it's sheath. After what had happened earlier he didn't exactly like his odds with these two so it was best to follow along. So this bloke was supposed to become the webber prince? Well I guess it made sense he was so pissed about the spiders. "Rayyad... if I may call you that. About those spiders... I am terribly sorry, I had let myself go too much, I am just used to my comrades holding me back just like I hold them back... It's inexcusible what I did to them..." He said walking alongside Tessa, he didn't look at her since he still felt like it had been his fault they were here, the guilt visible on his face.

    Shyra's group:
She sat at the water for what could have been hours trying to get it to move. She was unable to get anything to happen. This was not at all that surprising. Some time latter she could hear Kara go up next to the tree that Conrad and Tessa were in. She would not put it past Kara to think something happened between the two. Who was to say one way or another? For the most part the night was quite and the only noise that could be heard was the animals of the night. Some time after Kara went by Laurentinus did too. Then it went quite again until someone spoke that she did not know. Something was not right. The strange voice then said 'YOU MURDERED THEM! YOU KILLED THEM IN COLD BLOOD! YOU COULD HAVE LET THEM FLEE BUT YOU DIDN'T' It was rather loud and something was sure to be happening. She stood up to make her way to Conrad and Tessa. Her water practice would have to wait. She heard Lumen go past her at some point, but did not see him. She arrived where Tessa and Conrad were at some point only to see that they were now gone. She could see them in the distance. There was no way she could chech up with them. This was partly because Sam could not wait for him to post and thust Garrett's character was unable to do anything to help Tessa or Conrad even if he had a plan which he did, but he could no longer do that. it was time to move onto plan B/ She could see a giant spider a person the was dressed as a spider and two people that were probably Conrad and Tessa wrapped up. She knew that everyone had headed to town without her and going to save Tessa and Conrad by herself was stupid. She quickly made her way into town looking for any sign of anyone. She found the blacksmith and spotted Lumen. "Lunen," she said out of breath. She maybe out of breath by her eyes told a different story and that was that something was wrong.

Kara hid her smile as Laurentinus played along, before turning on his heel and walking away. She followed, keeping her head demurely inclined until they were a safe enough distance away before she burst out into laughter, clapping her hands in happiness. "Did you see the look on his face? He totally fell for it." She held her sides, gasping for air as the laughter began to cause a shortage of oxygen in her lungs. "Oh my gods I haven't had that much fun since I took that stuff last night." She stopped laughing, sitting on the ground as she looked up at Laurentinus. "I wonder if he's missing his stuff by now." She mused, tapping the pommel of her blade. "Well that's gonna be our secret, right?"

A part of her was actually worried that
Shyra would rat her out to whoever was undoubtedly complaining to the innkeep now, but she would have to deal with that if or when the time came. For now, she smiled up at Laurentinus before getting to her feet and brushing the dust off her clothes. I think I've just found a new partner.

Tessa relaxed as her lungs filled with the proper amount of air. She could wiggle her fingers now, too, but it was of little consequence as the webbing still trapped the rest of her body. As Rayyad led them through the stone door, his stone door he said, she vaguely wondered what made it nicer then the other entrance, and then resolved that she didn't necessarily want to find out.

    After they had apparently arrived,
Rayyad removed them from the webbing as he continued to speak. Tessa, to her credit, paid attention as she finger combed the last of the sticky stuff from the strands of her hair, freezing when his voice echoed and boomed across the caverns. The Webbar Prince? She felt like she had heard this name before, and tried to remember as she followed the forest-man and Conrad down towards Rayyad's room. The Webbar Prince....She was chewing her lower lip, trying to think past the fog of the last few years. "It must be a heavy burden, to be alone." She said softly, after Conrad offered his apology. To his credit, she believed him, and she hoped Rayyad would too. "I mean, not that we've been alone. We're surrounded by the animals, but they have their own plans, and families and struggles. There's no one to really understand our plans or struggles."

As they walked Conrad the Killer apologised for his actions and Rayyad was touched. He didn't reveal it but he kinda felt bad about shouting at the man earlier. "I see. I understand. Humans kill each other all the time, I guess I just didn't understand how much danger I was putting them in" Rayyad ceded. It seemed Tessa understood better, he was glad to finally meet someone like him. By Azjol, he was glad to meet anyone at all. As they exited the tunnel they arrived in a massive cavern, filled with ancient stone buildings and plant life that somehow bloomed this far underground "Here we are, my great kingdom... I'm sure it was much more impressive back when people, you know, lived here. Now it's mostly populated with wildlife, which is nice, but conversation with rabbits gets boring after a while..." Rayyad lead them along an avenue which looked slightly less decrepid than the rest of the ancient city "I've tried to maintain this area in particular. Just for my own sanity's sake I guess. Look, there's the palace!" Rayyad pointed out a large impressive structure "My ancestors sat on the Throne of Secrets within that very palace. Personally I think it's a bit grand for me. I live in this little house here" Rayyad led them into a slightly cramped stone house that was much better furbished than the rest of the city and had actual furniture. The house seemed to consist of three rooms, a dining room/kitchen, Rayyad's bedroom, and a privy. "Sit down, I'll make you some tea... where did I put it?... Sorry, I'm not used to having guests" As Rayyad made the tea he began to reveal why he'd brought the people in "Let's start from the beginning. I assume you know about Hirokir? Our countries have been separated by these mountains for centuries, and the moment someone figures out a way to get through they declare war on each other. Typical humans. I swear, humans are the most territorial animals I know. Anyway, I was born in Hirokir and spent most of my life in those forests, until a couple of years ago when The Gathered approached me and told me I was this "Webber Prince". See, I think they needed someone to guard the passage between Hirokir and Tyrrus, and who better than the descendant of the kings who used to live there?" Rayyad finally found the tea and began to brew it "They've hidden something around here as well, an artifact, it ties me to this kingdom, I can't move more than a few miles away. I can just about reach the edge of that village before I can't move any further. So that's why I'm here, why are you here? I mean, why did you come to the village, I haven't seen you around here before"

He saw the bacon and eggs on his plate. His mouth watered at the very sight of them. Cooked perfectly, he could see it. Just like it was at home, on a proper fire. The bacon the perfect spot between pink and a charred brown. The egg, the yolk brighter than the most glorious sunrise and ever more worth savouring. No life had died meaninglessly, he could see that. This was not food, this was the thing that he had heard known as art! And then...
"What do you think you are doing young man!?" Bellowed the once quiet Aedan. He stood up and glared at the so called 'Night Knight' with fury in his eyes. "That was my breakfast and it is too early for this! Unhand my food and give it to me or I shall give you a hiding that will make you wish it were you who had been split in twain! I have friends that you couldn't possibly imagine!" Damn kids. He wished he were back home. People back home would never have done something this dastardly. These were dark times when young men could steal food from humble druids.

Conrad just tagged along Tessa began to talk about loneliness something Rayyad seemed to understand and he felt left out. He hadn't really known the sort of loneliness they described that no one understood their struggles, he wanted to ask if they had tried to make someone understand there were always people who would make the effort to understand, but he'd probably just be making himself look like an ignorant outsider. He was certain there was some sort of cultural divide here and made a note of it to maybe talk about it all later if there was a later. Conversations with rabbits well that's a first he had heard about that. "One can still catch a glimpse of the former glory in those ruins and there isn't much one man can do and I must say you've done one good job at maintaining what you could." Conrad said, he was genuinely impressed by the architecture of the kingdom, even in it's ruined form.

When they finally were inside he sat down as the Webber Prince started off his story, Hirokir the nextdoor neighbour wanting to wage war on Tyrrus or vice versa it didn't matter who wanted to kill who. He did agree with the fact that humans were quite the territorial creatures valuing a safe home above anything. Well there was an artifact binding him here somewhere that prevented him to leave, he felt sorry for the man. "Do you know what happened to the people who lived here? I mean judging by the city it must have been an impressive Kingdom and those don't tend to vanish easily. And I get it the passage must be guarded in some way to prevent us from fighting but wouldn't it be better to go back to the status quo by sealing the passage off entirely on one side? And this artifact got an idea of where it might be?" Conrad inquired the questions raced through his mind so the artifact was here to bind him there so he would be there to guard the passage. It was all connected and maybe the removal or destruction of the artifact would free this man. He realised he had been wrong once more in wanting to kill this man before then again it would have been self-defence but his hands would still be stained with the blood of the innocents.

The man then asked them why they were in the village since he hadn't seen them there before. "Well it's correct that you haven't seen us before we only arrived last night. We're part of a group that was supposed to go to the Darklight Caverns I don't exactly know why we were supposed to go there, but that is just how we ended up in the village." He explained to the best of his ability. "I mean I'm not even remotely from around here, hailing from the east and all that."
