Laurentinus did make a good point in the fact that he could have woken her up politely and ask her to move. "While it is undeniable that was an option, Laurentinus, I made an assumption that she might have come from far away, having traveled for some time, she arrived even later than me, traveling long distances can take it's toll and you'll tire, no matter how strong your stamina is. Sure I can be entirely wrong in these assumptions, they are assumptions after all. And seeing we are going on an expedition there is no saying when will be the next time we get to rest, hence why I decided to let her sleep." He said calmly, while looking out of the window. He kept the part of and if I didn't you probably would have been all pissy about me waking her up, damned if you do, damned if you don't. "I will apologise if it is necesarry, but I did not harm or wrong anyone the way I see it. I stand by my actions but am willing to admit my wrong, but only if it is clear that I wronged someone for that was not my intention." He said, this time looking at both Laurentinus and Tessa and then turning away again. He felt like he was just wasting his time no matter what he said they were going to hold this against him.

"No questions? Jolly good! Now let me get the packs" Sanderson hefted some rucksacks full of rations "I hope you've all got good boots. Did I not mention earlier? We're walking all the way to Fordington" Sanderson grinned "It will take a while, of course, but when we're traversing the hostile lands of other nations we can't be relying on carriages all the time! Now let's go!" with that Sanderson began to stride out of the manor.

    DM Message:
You're going to start walking to Fordington, which is quite a distance. If you want to interact with other characters on the way, or do anything other than walk, do so. Otherwise we'll just move automatically outside the city.

    Shyra Bracklewood:
Shyra wasn't really listening to the pointless conversation going on. It seemed they proved her suspicions that this team couldn't work together. They would need a lot more training
"Has anyone got any questions about the place we're going?" she asked disinterestedly.

Kara nudged Laurentinus, her smile still playful. "She's probably got a point. If you weren't a little jealous, you wouldn't bring it up. No one really believes in propriety." With Tessa still hiding behind her cloak and Conrad now staring out the window, she wasn't sure what the problem was. "Hey, you guys need to lighten up." She was in a pretty good mood. She had nearly gotten away with stealing, and hadn't been captured as a result. She had gotten to eat today, and was now riding in a fancy carriage with interesting people. It couldn't get any better.

Tessa remained in her defensive position, though she peeked at the people discussing the previous conversation. "So, if you didn't want a mate, then why would you argue? What's the point?" She asked quietly, trying to understand. It felt as though these customs should be familiar but she couldn't quite figure out the process. She frowned and poked her head out a little more. "Do people fight often about small things like this?" she asked Shyra.

Bryce followed Sanderson as he was wont to do.

This guy was impossible to reason with and the calm he had, it was almost scary. He didn't trust people that calm about things, they always had plans... Well there was always the fact that he didn't trust many people, but he wouldn't admit to that. He had a very good reason for not being trusting people, they didn't know it, but why should they know it if he didn't trust them. Either way this conversation with Conrad seemed to be getting him nowhere and it was probably about time for him to drop it.

Dropping that conversation however didn't mean dropping everything. There was still the issue of
Tessa and Kara. Kara who was trying to make the accusation of him being jealous, and Tessa questioning his motives. "As I stated, I am not jealous, I am simply looking out for her. As I said before it seems like he is trying to move in a bit too quickly." Laurentinus explained, making a motion towards Conrad to clarify who he was referring to.

With a sigh he decided to hint to what was going through his mind for the sake of the
females, not Conrad. "Look I have a damn good reason to not trust people, especially ones like him who seem rather friendly. I am just trying to look out for you, even if it doesn't seem like it. I am sorry. Just don't mind me. You guys go back to being friendly with each other, I guess I am just making a big deal over nothing." Ren stated as he turned back to the window. He heard Shyra ask about questions to do with where they were going, but at this point, Laurentinus could care less about that. He just had to get out of the damn carriage.

Kara rolled her eyes, then stood, a bit of a difficult task in a moving carriage. "You." She jerked her thumb at Tessa. "Switch seats with me. You're causing problems. Let's solve this before we all dissolve into a rolling ball of chaos and murder."

Grabbing the girl by the arm, she yanked her to her feet, turned, and shoved, gently, the girl into the opposite seat, before plopping down in the one next to
Conrad, and folding her arms once more. "Alright, now can we get along? Being that we're going to fight a mission together soon, and it would be a good idea if we didn't hate each other?"

    She pointed at
Conrad. "You, if what you did with her is so okay, then you won't mind if you do it with me. And you," this time the finger went in Laurentinus' direction. "You will treat her the way you think she should be treated." She hadn't gotten to be this bossy in ages. It was fun.

Tessa gasped when she was nearly picked up and tossed into the opposite seat. She hid beneath the hood as Kara spoke, peeking out when the tirade seemed to have finished. "I'm sorry." She whispered to Laurentinus. "You both seem like....nice, people. I'm just not used to uh...humans." Or talking, or mannerisms, really. "Uh." She tried to remember what she had seen others do. "I'm...Tessa." She held out her hand for Laurentinus to shake. The same as she had done with Conrad. Part of it was an experiment, to see if she could recreate the feeling she had before. The other part was...well..being friendly.

She watched as Kara tried to wake up Tessa and she did. Laurentinus and Conrad continued to fight. She griped the chair and looked liked she was going to throw up. This was why she did not like talking to people there was always fighting. She could feel the ground more and more now. It was almost like it was apart of her. The talking continued and it seems like two boy want to get into pants for some reason. Good on her for standing up for herself. She hated this more and more as the ride went on. Conrad said something about letting Tessa sleep because he had no idea when they would get sleep next. Laurentinus was looking out for Tessa so on and so forth. Her grip on the chair was increasing. She felt like any moment if things did not change she would do something like a giant water cannon shooting out from the ground or worse. Kara and Tessa switched seats, but who knew if that would help. Kara then said 'You will treat her the way you think she should be treated' She just sat there not knowing what to say. "Do on to others as you would want done on to you." She surprised herself when she spoke and tried to hide her face. What did she have to do that for? She shyness getting the best of her she blushed and turned away to face the window. Please don't say anything. Please don't say anything she thought to herself.

Aston Venger seemed so support this random guys idea of going So who was he to argue. He already said that he supported whatever choice he did and there was no need to do it again. Aston Venger asked if they had any questions. "Sir Venger, if you do not mind me asking, what were we going to do on the Forgotten City job?" He was somewhat curious.

Tessa asked a question that had seemingly gone ignored as to the how's and why's of this argument. It was a good question there was absolutely no point in arguing, it technicly wasn't even an argument. Kara then told them all to lighten up, easy for you to say sparking an argument and wrongly accusing Laurentinus of being jealous. What a jolly great trip this was going to be... Then Laurentinus said something rather odd though he doubted it was for his sake. "Laurentinus, I apologise that I gave you the wrong idea with my actions there was no ill intent behind it, which I have already explained. I however could not have known something had happened, however I will not accept you wrongly accusing me of having some ill intent towards people." Conrad said again the calm in his voice though it was lost nearing the end of what he said. He understood the willingness to look after people, he had it himself as well. And it hadn't been the first time he had put an arm around a stranger as they lay upon his shoulder. The Old, the young, the weak, men and women. As they were trying to get to safety, they had looked to them for security to keep them safe, give them hope. At first he had felt uncomfortable with it, but now he didn't know any better.

That was when Kara decided to really make a big deal over nothing, switching seats with Tessa and demanding his compliance. He was however used to people barking orders at him and figured that objecting here and now was only going to be counter productive, plus it provided an opportunity to test something of his own. "I am perfectly fine with it, question is, are you?" As Kara sat down he put his arm around as she had demanded as he touched her there wasn't the sense of familiarity he had when he first touched Tessa's hand or saw her for that matter. The mentioning of jealousy gave him a little idea and a small smile crept up on his face, he quickly hid it and in a completely serious voice said "You know, someone once told me that those who accuse others of being jealous are jealous themselves." He looked at Kara and added in a teasing tone "So maybe it has been you that was jealous the entire time and sparked all this so you could have the affection of someone else." He couldn't help but grin, if he was going to get slapped for this it was worth it, plus she would be a hypocrite after saying everyone else had to lighten up a bit. "Now if we could just stop making a big deal out of everything then we would probably get along nicely. I think this was all a big misunderstanding that has been blown way out of proportion. Both of us did what we thought was right and that clashed, end of story. Next time let's try to not blow it out of proportion and have a civilised discussion." Conrad said in his calm voice again. He heard another voice belonging to a girl, but to be perfectly honest she didn't contribute anything useful to the conversation like at all.

Aedan merely nodded and followed after Sanderson as they began to walk to the the village of Fordington. It seemed that they were walking. Others were not perhaps so used to this, but he certainly was. For the most part, he was all but unknown to the rumoured comforts of carriages and other such things. Walking would be no particular worry for the Druid. Besides, some time in the wild would be a pleasant experience for him.

    [IMG][IMG]

"Well duh, it's a tomb. And it's old. Goes back to the Dragon Wars from what I can understand. Couldn't tell you which one though. Anyway, Fogwarden is the tomb of a famous general during the time so, there. There's loot. And there's whatever the other guys are carrying I suppose." Kellan answered. He scratched his head and his face scrunched up strangely as he tried to think of any other things that people would get by following him. One person actually spoke up other than Baldomar. It was some guy who looked as weird as he did. Oh well. It was support. Kellan gestured at him. "See? This guy has the right idea! Adventuring spirit everyone!"

Meanwhile, Aston watched everything with curiosity and still some surprise. He hadn't quite gotten over the fact that this man had the nerve to barge in here and then offer them an alternative job. He had to admit, he'd rather do this one. The fact that there was a definite race against time and the idea that there was competition appealed to him. Very, very much so. It didn't seem like anyone else was really objecting so, it was all just as well really. Hopefully Sanderson wouldn't get too annoyed that they had totally gone off schedule though.
"It wasn't anything too stressful. There are some nearby ruins and I was planning to get us over there via some carriages in Varewyn and we'd have a poke around. I believe that there was a recently discovered one and that they were looking for people to go explore it. In any case, it doesn't matter now. I think we're going to take this opportunity instead." Aston answered. He stepped forwards and looked harshly at Kellan. "Whoever yo-"
"Kellan Sithwyr, sole remaining knight of the Order of the Radiant Sword. I'm sure you heard of us." Kellan interjected rudely with a look of pride on his face. Aston gave him a look, and something told him deep down that he actually had no idea who the Order of the Radiant Sword was, and that made Kellan feel very sad. Poor Haven. It was his fault in a way. Not his finest hour.
"Fine then, Kellan." Aston spoke. "We're going into the city and getting some coaches. Give us some instructions as to where to go."
"Sure. I'm not exactly going to, you know, just say 'go here' and then let you all guess where you're meant to be going. You'll have to help me find the exact place though. I've never been there myself so..."
"Then we'd better get going bloody quick then." Aston rolled his eyes and looked at everyone. "Alright everyone, we're off to this tomb in the Hinterlands!"

The journey to Fogwarden Dale has begun. If any of you want to interact along the way, please say so and do so. Otherwise we'll just show up when our glorious leader permits.

So it seemed like they were going with this man. That would be quite an experience, one that Anthea was not the most thrilled about. Though the girl supposed she had not choice but to follow everyone on this mission. She made a mental note to stay away from Balomar and Kellan though. They just seemed like the kind of people that were not good to get close to. Either way she would keep away.

The problem with not getting too close with them, meant there was few people she could. That being said she didn't know if she wanted to. Perhaps it was best for her to just stick back and only do what she needed to when it was needed. After all she was a little nervous about what everyone would think of her... abilities. Her master seemed to really like them and build on them, but would everyone? She did not know but she would use it when needed.

Despite what he wished in the back of his mind, Conrad listened to what he had said to the two girls. Not only did he listen in to it, but he felt the need to comment on it too. "Of course you didn't know. I didn't want you to know. What does it matter to you what happened in my past." Laurentinus said. A defense mechanism, a way to keep people away from him. He wouldn't let people in, in fear of losing them like he lost everyone. If he told them what happened in his past then they would believe they could get close to him, and that was not okay.

    Soon after that comment
Kara ordered her and Tessa to switch seats and try treating others how they thought they should be treated. On top of that another person spoke up about treating others how you would like to be treated. "I plan too." Laurentinus mumbled his response to the girl before finally paying attention Tessa, as the girl introduced herself to him. He took her hand and shook it. "My name is Laurentinus, Ren for short if it is easier for you." He offered before retracting his hand and sitting quietly. Luckily there was no time for awkward conversation since Conrad decided to speak up, being as calm as ever. Damn he hated that. "Fine." He responded trying not to sound as annoyed as he was.

Tessa smiled a little, still unsure of herself. "Ren, okay. Why are you here?" She began to toy with a strand of her hair, a nervous habit of hers. Well, one of her nervous habits. Really, she liked to keep her hands busy when she was upset or anxious at all. "I um..I wasn't officially invited." She said this a little more quietly so that Shyra wouldn't hear. The last thing she wanted was to be kicked out of the carriage in an unknown wilderness. It would be a long way back to the known one. "I just saw a flyer in the place I was living, and well...we all need a change of scenery at one point, right? She pointedly ignored whatever was going on with Conrad. The feeling hadn't jolted her when she had shaken Ren's hand, and she was still nervous about what that really was. Besides, the way he was curling up with the other girl, all he really wanted was a mate. She just hoped they wouldn't do anything in the carriage. She didn't need to remind herself how humans reproduced.

Kara grinned and snuggled in close to Conrad, batting her eyelashes mockingly. "Believe me, if I wanted you, I would have you." She spoke more confidently then she felt, but that was alright. Things were starting to quiet down, and it looked like they might all make it to the mission in one piece after all. "Besides, with how everything's worked out, even if I was jealous, I'd say things are in my favor."

She glanced in surprise at the
third girl in the carriage who had spoken. "Well, look at that. We have a second mouse. I think..." she ran a finger up the lines of Conrad's chest. "I think you," the finger once more pointed at Tessa, "will be Rabbit, and you," this time went to the third girl, "will be Mouse. I will be....Kitty." she giggled before glancing from Laurentinus to Conrad. "Hawk. Wolf." She pointed at the former, then the latter. This day was turning out to be much more fun then she had originally thought.

Bryce whistled quietly as they walked. The silence felt forced, and while he wasn't great at socializing, he couldn't help but feel that somehow, something needed to be done. I guess it falls to me. He sighed, then turned to a girl who was walking somewhat close to him. Trying not to be obvious, and failing, he sidled over to her. "Hi. I'm Bryce. Ever killed a man before?"

He wished he could have smacked his face against the nearest tree, but that probably would have made things worse. Of all the things to say.

Laurentinus had responded rather agitated to his response, apparantly it wasn't directed at him. Oh well nothing he could say was gonna make any difference with it, he had recognised the fact that he was deliberatly keeping this quiet it wouldn't be any use to pry which would only make everything worse. He could feel Kara snuggling in close to him. He himself remained sitting as he sat with the arm around Kara, not leaning in specificly or anything really. Then she stated that if she wanted him she'd have him. Well he was still his own person and still would have a say in it. "I doubt that, but I am not going to challenge you to try." Conrad stated with a grin on his face. She mentioned everything working out in her favour if she had been jealous "Which was exactly my point, moving all the pieces into positions where they can't disagree with you without some form of damage. I must say it worked perfectly and as an admirer of strategy it was a good one. Word of advice next time you try to have us all dance to your tune, try sweet talking it works miracles." She ran a finger up his chest and he was rather glad there was a piece of plate armour between the finger and his body, not trusting his own body what it would do to such an alien sensation.

He followed the finger with a watchful eye and Kara then decided to name everyone. Tessa was rabbit, he had to admit it was rather fitting she was just as adorable as one. The other girl was a mouse, the name was rather fitting she had been quiet as one up till that point. Kara called herself a cat and giggled, she did have that same habbit as cats counting themselves as authority. Then it was Laurentinus' turn, a hawk rather fitting. But he had a sinking feeling when the finger went in his direction again and was called a wolf. A dangerous animal, it does have a sort of majesty to it, but wolves were predators and he was far from it. A look of annoyance shot across his face but he hid it again. He had no ill intent wasn't gonna kill anyone, deceive anyone. And the more he would cry out against it the more he would damn himself all the more. If he let just his actions speak for him they would be misunderstood and be damned as well and he had no more room to maneuver, having to surrender himself to the whims of the others and he hated it. Control had slipped away from his fingers and he hated it, while he had been a soldier and was used to following orders he still had some measure of control, but now he had lost all of it. He hung his head and clenched his fists, unclenching them again and repeating it. He glanced at Tessa, his hair veiling his eyes, she was ignoring him. He looked back down again. She probably still had some measure of control. He had been demonised, he pressed his lips together but didn't say a thing. This was not what he had expected of this day, not in the slightest.

"I don't think it matters how officially you were invited. You are here and they allowed you to be here, so why question it." He told Tessa, clasping his hands behind his head. "As for me..." Laurentinus hesitated for a moment before attempting to explain why he was there, without telling anyone anything. "Well I am here because I wanted to be stronger in order to help more people.... And perhaps find someone along the way." He was referring to his father who disappeared while looking for his mothers murderer, but he didn't want to tell anyone that. Chances were he was dead anyways.

Ren's attention was then turned towards
Kara as she spoke about them all. He kind of chuckled at some of the comparisons, however when it got to him, he shifted uncomfortably. He didn't know what he thought of being called an animal who preyed on the animals she had called the other two girls. Though in that aspect Conrad didn't have it much better. Well at least they were in the same boat.

For once Laurentinus did something seeming almost friendly towards
Conrad. He looked in the mans direction and rolled his eyes with a slight smirk on his face, like he was silently saying "woman." He was sure Conrad was in the same boat as he was. At least there was one good thing about the man... and that was well having another man around when surrounded by so many woman. For most guys it would be a dream, until you had to actually talk to them. Then they prey on you like a cat on a mouse.

Excited to start their journey, Iris listened intently to the words that Sanderson had said. Apparently they were to go hunting drakes because said reptiles were becoming a problem for village folk. Iris had never hunted drakes before, she hadn't actually hunted anything before, so she was getting a bit excited as to get going on the hunt. She was no stranger to walking long distances, as she had traveled from home to this league by foot, and so she was psyched up to get to walking. Though, as the tree man had said that he would try to find a way to not kill the drakes, a wave of confusion washed over her. If they didn't kill the drakes, then how were they going to have Drake Steak?

Regardless, as they started to walk, the group had, for the most part, remained silent. That was, until a young man came over to introduce himself and asked a pretty peculiar question. She thought about it long and hard, wondering if she had truly ever killed a man. After sifting through her memories, she confidently shook her head, saying,
"no, I haven't kill anyone." After she responded, she wondered why he would ask her such a question. She didn't think she was the type to give off a murderous vibe, and it was hardly something you just asked out of the blue. It was then that it dawned on her. It was probably just his people's way of greeting each other. Even if Tyrrus was one compact country, she never ceased to be amazed at how different everyone within it could be. So, trying only to be polite, with a tone that only seemed to be genuine politeness, Iris introduced herself. "I'm Iris, and have you ever killed a man before, Bryce?"

Sanderson led the group out of the city gates and into the vast fields that lay beyond, glancing at his map from time to time. Most of the group was quiet, he supposed it was inevitable, they would just have to get to know one another a bit better. When one lad spoke up with what had to be the very worst introduction Sanderson smiled slightly and was about to chuckle amiably and intervene, but his smile faded away and he trodded onwards purposefully. Have you ever killed a man? Well. Let's not dwell on that.

Her grip on the chair continued to get stronger. She continued to feel like she was trapped and there was nothing that she could do. Then something unexpected happened Conrad apologized to Laurentinus. Conrad had no ill intent behind it letting Tessa sleep on his shoulder. She did not think much of it. Laurentinus said 'What does it matter to you what happened in my past' She thought about this and she had to some what agree. The past was in the past and that was all there was to it. Laurentinus said that he planned on treating others how you would like to be treated. She just sat there and smiled at him. Her grip on the chair seemed to loosen. Kara called her a mouse. She was not to happy about that. She felt so trapped. She felt like a rock that could not be moved. "I am not a mouse. I am Alice." She wondered how much longer this ride would go for. Conrad began to talk about some sort of admirer of strategy. She did not fully get this, but said nothing about it. Laurentinus said 'Well I am here because I wanted to be stronger in order to help more people.... And perhaps find someone along the way.' She had to smile at this. Maybe just maybe these people were not all that bad.

Aston told him that they were going to check out some nearby ruins. That did not sound to exciting. There was nothing else to do. With that said and done he go on or walked or did whatever mode of transportation they were taking to get to Fogwarden Dale. He would talk if there was the chance to, but until then he would stay quite. At this point Garrett was just typing because he did not know what else to do and he wanted it to look longer then one line, it did not help that he had no idea how they were getting to Fogwarden Dale.

"Hmmmmm, didn't like that, did you?" Kara grinned before yanking on a piece of Conrad's hair and shifting out of his grasp, leaning her back against the far wall, her side pressed against the seat back. "Well we can't all be what we want. Personally, I'd rather be a fox, buuuuut. Not that cunning." She let her head rest against the side, then thought better and shifted so that her head could lean against the seat backing as well. "Some people are prey, some are predators.. Some are survivors." She said this with another grin, before nudging Conrad with her foot. Maybe if she irritated him enough, she would see some of the predator.

"I wonder how many of us are survivors?" She said this before glancing at
Alice. "You don't want to be a mouse? Then change. Or don't. I don't care. In fact, I'm feeling rather hungry." The grin turned into a smile that showed no teeth. "Maybe I could use a mouse for lunch."

Tessa frowned. She had never considered herself to be a rabbit, but it wasn't as bad as it could have been. She would rather be a rabbit then say, a squirrel. Squirrels were bastards. Always stealing her stash of nuts. She watched Ren roll his eyes, and frowned. Her memory told her this was a gesture that was an indication of little to no respect. Well, if he was a hawk and Kara was a cat, made sense. Hawks ate cats. And rabbits. She cautiously watched him from behind her hair, unaware that Conrad had just done the same thing to her. Well, not totally unaware. But sometimes if you pretended you didn't notice a predator stalking you, then they would leave you alone.

Okay, that never worked and almost always ended in some sort of scary attack and pain. "Can't I be a bear?" Tessa asked the strange girl, her voice pleading. "I don't want to get eaten by a hawk." Wolves were worthy, cunning foes. Hawks were opportunists and she didn't appreciate them. "Or a deer? Please?"

The strange girl sighed, then shrugged. "Sure, you can be Doe Eyes, and then
Mouse over there can get a promotion to Rabbit. Gods above you guys are a spoiled bunch."

Bryce stuttered. He hadn't expected the girl to answer, much less give her name. Well, maybe he was better at this then he thought. With a little more confidence in his stride, he nodded. "Yeah, a couple. Handful. Maybe a dozen. Can't really remember. They kind of....blend together. Blood looks the same on everyone, you know. Well, I mean it looks different on different people, but it's the same color and smells the same and kind of makes all the memories run together. I mean.....yeah."

He stuttered once more, looking down at his feet. Gods this helmet was hot, but he didn't want to take it off just yet. "Uh...nice weather, right? I like the sun." he commented lamely to
    Iris.

    Shyra Bracklewood:
Shyra had not been listening to the conversation, but it seemed her recruits had started to get along. The scenery outside the carriage seemed to get darker as they entered a thicker area of forest, and the ride of the carriage became more bumpy. Suddenly, they stopped.
"George? What's the holdup?" she called to the carriage driver
"M-m-my lady, I could have sworn I just saw... i saw..."
"What is it man? Speak!" the horses were whinnying and seemed distressed
"A giant spider m'lady!" George exclaimed with fright
"What?!" Giant spiders? This far out? Strange indeed. Without a word Shyra exited the carriage and looked around the nearby woods analytically. Cobwebs were strung from a few of the withered trunks. Shyra couldn't hear anything suspicious, but that was in itself the most suspicious thing though. Usually there would be the sound of birdsong and activity, here there was nothing but silence "There's something suspicious out here" she stated. She didn't care if they decided to come out or stay inside, she could probably deal with this herself.

Conrad heard what Kara was saying to him. She was right, perfectly so and it annoyed him a little eventhough he wasn't showing it. He caught Laurentinus' rolling of eyes, he didn't respond in kind, but gave a small nod. Then she pulled at his hair and before he could strike back, she twisted out of his grasp. He wouldn't hit a girl easily, but Kara was pushing it. He shot her a look "Kara, would you please stop doing that. While I do not mind someone laying on my shoulder,I do mind someone actively trying to draw the blood from beneath my nails." Then she went on about how she would love to be a fox. The next remark resulted into Kara nudging him with her foot, his hands were quick and grabbed hold of Kara's leg and he pulled her leg over his lap, pinning it there with his left arm, then using his right hand he unlaced her boot and took it off, putting it next to him. A rather devious smile appeared upon his face as he started to tickle her relentlessly underneath her foot while keeping the leg under control with his left arm. He heard what Tessa had said and small smile crept on his face. "How does the little kitty like to be tickled?" He asked with a grin on his face. He let her leg go again. Jokingly throwing her now removed boot her way, aiming to throw it into her lap. He looked outside and noticed it had gotten more wooded, then the carriage stopped. Shyra was demanding answers and he listened in on the conversation she then exited the carriage. Conrad followed suit standing next to Shyra, his greatsword at the ready, looking around.

Well this whole situation was turning out splendidly. Conrad was being creepy again, getting too close to Kara as well. However at least this time it was clearly in a joking manner. Meanwhile Tessa was complaining about what she was and the fact hawks eat her. Besides that he felt very much ignore. He supposed it was for the best, but it still hurt slightly. Laurentinus turned to look out the window, tuning out everything around him, until the carriage stopped.

It was quiet until he heard the driver say something about giant spiders. Well this was annoying but at least something interesting was now happening that didn't involve him being ignored or insulted. Shyra mentioned something suspicious was outside. There was not a chance he was going to let her explore on her own. It didn't matter that she believed herself far stronger and better. No one was to fight alone.

Opening the carriage door he stepped out to the road and looked around at the cobwebs. His eyes drifted from the cobwebs to Shyra.
"Well this should prove an interesting side quest. Guess now is when you get to decide whether your assumptions on us are correct or not." Bitterness dripped from the mans voice. He was sick of everyone already. This is why he never socialized usually, just going from work to home, day after day.

Kara had been prepared for an assault on her person, on her hair, or perhaps an assault of words. What she had not been ready for was an assault on her feet. Laughter was startled out of her as she squirmed and kicked, trying to free her foot from the grasp of the man next to her. Finally, the torment ended, and as quickly as the boot was thrown at her, she placed it back on her foot with a grin. "You're a strange man." She told Conrad, just as Shyra started yelling. Sounded like something important, but everyone was taking way too long to get out the entrance of the carriage. So Kara did the only reasonable thing she could do. She popped out one of the panes of glass from one of the carriage windows, and slipped outside, carefully placing the sheet of clear material on the carriage wheel.

It was then she looked up, and saw the strands of cobweb coming down from the branches. She couldn't tell how recent they were, and mild disgust mingled with curiosity. Giant spiders? Who would have known? Despite the morbidity of it all, she reached out to touch one of the strands.

Tessa reached out and smacked away Kara's hand. "Don't." She said, her eyes and voice serious. "It'll tell them we're here." When she was sure Kara wouldn't try to be stupid, she turned and walked back towards Ren. She had seen the spiders hunt before. Probably not the same ones, but similar creatures lived in her forests. "Um..." She sighed as she adjusted her cloak, freeing her arms and hands from the sleeves. "Can we...watch each other's back? It's better to stay in a group, and..." Her throat seemed to close up on itself, and she couldn't finish her sentence.

Was asking for help really so hard? After nearly a decade of seeing no one, and doing everything alone, apparently it was. Her eyes pleaded with
Ren what her voice couldn't. She didn't want to have to fight these things by herself. Even though she was sure Shyra would lead them as a group, it didn't mean they would act like a group.

"If that's the case, I'm sticking with Wolf." Kara danced over to
Conrad. Despite her carefree manner, her eyes were wary, and her hands had gone to the pommels of her weapons. "I'd like to think a cat and a canine could do better then a bird and a doe. But, perhaps you can prove us wrong."
