Aedan, after finishing a decent course of assorted meats and greens shuffled out to go meet Sanderson by the stables as he had said. They were going to deal with a Drake problem. He didn't want to hunt them however, part of the reason that he was even going on this mission was to try and avoid that. There was always a better way than slaying the beasts. His experience with wild animals should allow them to come to another conclusions. It seemed their leader was energetic and looking forward greatly to getting out there with everyone. He could only hope that it was not an eagerness for bloodshed as well
"I assume that there are other ways of dealing with this? I would rather a non-lethal solution to the Drake issue. I am familiar with many varieties of beasts, perhaps my knowledge of their behaviour will serve well here?" Aedan spoke.

It seemed that Sanderson was going to let her into the society. Well, that suited him fine. He didn't overly care too much. Now that she was in, he had no trouble, although he wasn't going to let Sanderson know that he was just annoyed with her for wasting his time. And also that immature little bit of finger pointing.
"I have no quarrel with you now that you're a part of the society." Aston shrugged generally. They moved off, and then Kara stuck her tongue out. He rolled his eyes and sighed dramatically. So immature. "Good luck out there Sanderson!" Aston said encouragingly as Sanderson walked away. It was time for them to get going with their first expeditions. He had a good idea lined up. They were going to head down to some ruins near the Forgotten City. There was still some investigation to be done down there and it wasn't too far away from civilisation if the newbies got in trouble. Overall, it was going to be pretty good. When all the people who had signed up for the expedition were assembled he cleared his throat and began to speak.
"Hello everyone, welcome to the Adventurer's Society. If you don't remember, my name is-" The door burst open and a particularly odd looking stranger burst into the room, panting and clutching a letter in his hands.

Kellan panted as he ran for the manor. He had nicked this letter off some legitimate fellow who was talking about it at the pub. Honestly, it was so convenient that he heard the guy bragging about it drunkenly and he passed out. It was as if fate itself was on his side. He had found a group of people looking for adventure and they were new! That meant that they were going to be really, really easy to work with. Probably. He had no idea. People never seemed to like him. Then again, people were a pile of knobends so it could be expected. He looked up and could see the manor ahead. So, there were people outside. That meant that they were leaving! He had to hurry! If he didn't get there in time, then he'd miss his chance. Kellan flapped the letter around as he ran past, using that as hopefully an excuse for people to let him through. The door drew close and the sprinting man leaped through the doorway and into the big hall where there were a few people gathered. He waved the tattered letter around as explanation and caught his breath, resting his arms on his thighs as he huffed and puffed from tiredness. Eventually, he looked up at them.
"Hi, all of you. I don't know you, you don't know me but..." He said, still out of breath. "Who's up for an adventure?" Kellan gave them all the best smile that he could manage.
"Basically, there's a tomb up North in the Hinterlands. Fogwarden Keep it's called. There's valuable treasure in there, and has some secrets. The problem is, there's another group heading for it now! So, we need to be quick or we'll never beat them to it!" Kellan explained quickly. Maybe he could sell them all on it. Maybe. He could only hope. "So yeah, who's with me?"

Anthea waited patiently until Aston appeared. Though the man didn't get much through speaking before someone else came bursting through the door. Anthea winced at the sound it made before shrinking back slightly as the man who came in began to speak, rather quickly at that. It suddenly felt like a lot to take in and Anthea wasn't quite sure what was going on. She didn't know if in the end it was their decision or if it was Aston's. The girl looked up at Aston to try to find help from him. She hoped he would decide or explain what they were to do, before she had to speak. Anthea was afraid to speak out really. She didn't want to get in trouble for speaking when she shouldn't. She also didn't want to say something wrong and embarrass herself. Silence seemed like the best option for her. Silence and obedience that was, thinking for herself also seemed like a dangerous thing in her mind.

Laurentinus rolled his eyes at the woman's words as she spoke of what was beyond the mountains. He knew it was dangerous past them, but she must have been jesting. That was an over exaggeration of what existed beyond their land. On top of that she seemed to be underestimating their skills and training. This was ridiculous. He couldn't decide what he would rather now, deal with Baldomar, or deal with her. Boldomar may have been an uncultured swine, but even those could learn new tricks. This woman on the other hand, Shyra, she was over cultured and over confident, thinking herself better than anyone else.

"I would watch what you say about us if I were you. You never know, one day those words might turn around and stab you in the back when you least expect them too. Don't treat us like a hopeless bunch of ingrates before you see what we are capable of." Laurentinus stated before he stepped past the woman and got into the carriage, a scowl printed across his face. This was going to be a fun mission wasn't it. Hopefully the rest of the people going on the mission wouldn't be as insolent, and hopefully they wouldn't prove her right.

Sanderson was clearly too excited to notice Bryce's words, and maybe a little overenthusiastic about hunting. Bryce's father had been the same, considering the killing of animals a sport. Bryce couldn't say he agreed, but at this point, he was willing to do nearly anything to regain his honor. So he wouldn't look at it as killing the drakes, (although when the wooden man spoke up about nonlethal ways, he hoped Sanderson would take the offer under consideration), but as saving the townspeople. Honor, it seemed, could cut both ways. He put his helmet back on his head, blinking a few times to acclimate to the tunnel vision the metal hat produced, and waited to follow Sanderson.

Kara shrugged, finishing off her food before stepping up towards Shyra. She listened, or tried to. But there were a lot of words involved with what she was saying, and it was kind of hard to keep up over the happy song her stomach was singing to her mind about how happy it was. No shit. Her mind complained. A happy song equals happy? She ignored that little blip and stepped into the carriage, taking a seat by the window.
Hopefully there wouldn't be too much squishing together.

Tessa stood awkwardly, unsure of how to respond to Conrad. Shyra saved her from coming up with such a response by summoning a servant, to summon a carriage. Privilege wasn't something she had ever witnessed, and she didn't really have room in her mind to understand it at this moment.
"Perhaps it'll come to us with time." She suggested, moving from one foot to the other, before stepping towards the carriage.

She took a seat across from the strange girl that was still chewing on something, and stared up at the ceiling, letting her thoughts run into each other like fighting goats.

Conrad stood around awkwardly as he waited for an answer then Shyra arrived and called for a carriage. Some other bloke was arguing against the fact to start out to see what we were made off. Conrad wasn't a stranger to such trials after all the same thing happene after graduating from the academy. It was a standard procedure and he didn't mind it too much. Tessa then said they would figure it out eventually, that it would come to them in time "Aye, maybe it will." He said, he had seen her shift from one foot to the other before walking over to the carriage, he got in and sat down next to Tessa, the bench once more creaking under the weight of his heavy armour. He let his thoughts grow and branch like a tree growing trying to figure out all the possibilities of what could be causing this. Eventhough he knew deep down that it was all in vain.

    Baldomar Ererim:

Baldy had been waiting on Aston to get them along the man was about to speak when someone just burst through the door. I mean come on who did that? The bloke who came in was a familiar face, it was his old traveling buddy Kellan! He claimed that no one here knew who he was or he didn't know who anyone else was over here, but how could he forget ol' pal Baldy? "
I am up for an Adventure ol' pal. You missed me didn't you? I can see it in your face come on give ol' Baldy a hug" Baldomar said as he held his arms open to hug the man. He didn't care that his traveling companion had left him claiming his way of life wasn't suited, Baldy wasn't one for grudges except for that Greenbeard bloke, still not to be confused with Treebeard

This was it, they were finally going to go adventuring. Lyra had never seen a drake, but was certain that the cousins of dragons were just as majestic as their legendary relatives. Seeing them would be an amazing experience and helping the people of Fordington would go a long way towards her reputation. She stroked the gem encrusted pommel of her sword as Sanderson made his speech, and upon his conclusion she went to raise her hand in cheer, but managed to catch herself. Lyra had tackled with her emotions since childhood. Her parents had even had doctors come in to aid her with controlling her extreme passion, that seemed to make every emotion stronger and more overwhelming. The side effects of a little excitement rarely got worse than jumping around and maybe a few too many drinks, but anger among other things was an entirely different matter. However her developed coping strategies managed to keep things at bay and she had refined her controlled external demeanor to conceal that inner turmoil. As her mother used to say "make other people see what you want to be, they don't have to know you're not". Quickly she scanned the other recruits along with them and readied herself to leave.

Badun had been waiting listening to this Aston fella's idea and all of a sudden some other bloke charges in and says he has a better one. Who did he think he was coming in here like that. Despite his rudeness however his plan was sound and potentially more profitable than Aston's little training romp. Which lead Badun to think that it may be the better idea of the two, however, for his little financial venture to work, Badun required to get on the societies good side and if Aston didn't approve of this interloper it would be a bad idea to lose sight of why he was here in the first place. With no more information presenting itself, apart from some oafish barbarian declaring to know the guy, Badun decided it would be best to observe a bit more before taking action. After all the wrong choice might lose him this entire deal before it even starts.

Well it was pretty clear just how much faith in them Shrya had in them. Still killer caterpillars? That seemed a little odd to him, but hey seeing was believing for a reason. Not having much else to add to what had been said, Lumen made his way into the carriage and took a seat.

The horse finished the carrot she was feeding it. That was when she noticed that two people were talking. It was something about meeting each other before. Something that did not seem passable, unless they did in which case they would know. This talking went on for sometime. The man and women just keep talking trying to figure it out. That was when Shyra Bracklewood showed up. Now she would be about to learn some magic. That was when she said 'you'll die the second you step foot beyond the mountains' She been traveling for many weeks now, how bad would it be? Shyra then said something about the town Hirokir. Shyra then went on and on about the group not being about to pull anything off. She was beginning to regret her choice to learn magic from this girl. That was when a man in armor stood up for himself and the group. He said 'don't treat us like a hopeless bunch of ingrates before you see what we are capable of' She did not think she would ever be able to do something like that. Everyone seemed to be standing up for themselves. She was far to shy to say anything at this time. She was unsure what to say. She gave the horse a pat on the head before heading into the carriage. She was trying not to bother anyone so said nothing to anyone as she took a seat that was as far as possible from anyone. After all she did not want to be in there way.

He was standing by Aston Venger when a strange man came in. Who did this man think he was? Rude person after rude person was all he saw of this place. The man wanted to take them on an adventure to some place called Fogwarden Keep. "We are already going somewhere which sir Venger. I support any choice he makes." That was what he was here for to listen to the people in charge not to start some fight with a random person.

Sanderson gave the leafy man - Aedan, if he remembered Lyra's list - a small smile. He knew somebody was going to try this peace and happiness approach. And of course, that was their choice, but Sanderson had travelled for many years with hunting as his only way of survival, so he had some affection for the sport. "Drakes are beasts, old sport, killer beasts, and very territorial. They've chosen Fordington as their new home and, unfortunately, they won't relinquish it if you just ask them to" Sanderson laid a hand on the man's shoulder, he easily towered above the druid "But I admire your devotion to principles, and I certainly invite you to try your own way. But, I hope you understand old chap, I consider the lives of the townspeople more important" Sanderson turned back to the rest of the group and began to ready their packs and rations "Any other questions?"

"Laurentinus, wasn't it?" Shyra questioned with a raised eyebrow "You seem quite confident, I suppose we'll see if that confidence is backed up by anything later won't we? Either way, if I thought you lot were totally incapable I wouldn't even bring you on this expedition. I may be pessimistic but I do see what's in front of me, and you all seem to have some basic ability" With that Shyra got into the carriage and sat authoritatively at the front. "Let's get going" she muttered to the servant driving the carriage "Take us to Ashten Village"

    DM Message:
Everybody on the Darklight Disturbance expedition is now setting off in the carriage, It will take the rest of the day to arrive at the village, if you wish to interact and talk with other people on the carriage, feel free.
The elegant carriage, drawn by two fine brown horses, trots out of the city of Varewyn via the West Gate and exits into the wilderness. A narrow winding road takes the carriage through the Westwood, a thickly forested and barely inhabited area, towards its destination of Ashten Village, where you will stop for the night.

Kara leaned to look out the window, shoving her head outside to smell the fresh air. A tree branch nearly smacked her in the face. She stuck her tongue out at the stupid thing and returned to taking in the nature sights. She hadn't ever dared to leave the city, so this was great. Natural and pretty and-A tree branch smacked the back of her head. She withdrew the vulnerable limb, cursing quietly as she rubbed the injury. Yeah, she would be okay taking it in from here.

Tessa let her head roll back on the seat, staring up at the ceiling. The rolling of the carriage made her sleepy. She didn't much care for the feeling, preferring to remain wide awake around strangers. Perhaps they would let her walk? Before the thought left her mind to escape her lips, she felt her eyes shut, and her head lolled conveniently to the side, resting on Conrad's shoulder.

(Thanks to Aelin Fireheart for the cool banners, especially Aston's)

Kellan knew that in life, sometimes strange things happened. He was stuck in an undead invasion in Haven and had accidentally helped that whole affair along, and he escorted a little girl out of the city in the process. None of that he would ever have saw coming in his life. But what he definitely wouldn't have forseen is the man that he worked with, a barbarian from the mountains and a strange man all things considered. They parted because he frankly couldn't stand the way the man spent his time living. Bushes, despite Baldomar's protests to the contrary, were not good beds. Quite the opposite in fact. After all of that nonsense, he never thought he'd see the man again. But there he was. And demanding a hug. Kellan could only smile and embrace the Shaman.
"Baldomar you magnificently ugly *******! I never thought I'd find you here!" He exclaimed joyfully. "I thought you hated city folk!" After a couple of seconds, he released Baldomar and looked at everyone else.
"Well come on, he's up for it! What are all you lazy buggers doing anyway? You're just sitting there! I'd say looking pretty too, but really none of you ar- Whoops. I should stop saying stuff like that." Kellan facepalmed and looked at the rest of the group and decided to try again. But better. "Okay, just forget I said that. You're all very handsome people and I'd love to have you all on the adventu-" Nope, that wasn't going to work either.
"Oh who am I kidding, just come help me stop those guys from stealing all of the **** in the tomb! They're a pile of twats and I say we go mess them up royal And we'll steal all the stuff instead!!"
    Nailed it.

Aston had no words for what he was witnessing. He could only conclude it was a pile of idiocy. Whoever this guy was, and apparently it was a friend of Mr Hammer Grater which only boded well, he was a complete idiot with no idea of how to actually speak to people. He wasn't offended by anything said at all, but more that he was trying to encourage them to do something with such incompetence. He actually kind of felt bad. He obviously felt very strongly about stopping these 'twats' from stealing all the '****' in the tomb. Not strongly enough to clarify what exactly though. However, he had to admit to himself that this sounded a great deal more interesting than what he had lined up. The Hinterlands was good for adventure and well, tombs were tombs. They were probably only going to have to deal with the guys trying to raid it themselves so, it would be fine!
"You know, I actually like this idea. Somebody else can deal with the Forgotten City job, or we'll do it later. Any objections? Or questions for that matter?" He hoped some people would actually ask questions. There was a lot that they didn't know and it would be disappointing if not one of these people actually asked something.

"I'll have a word with them. I'm sure that we'll be able to come to an arrangement." Aedan said reassuringly. He was well aware that it probably wouldn't make sense to Sanderson, but that was partly by design. "Thank you for allowing me to try my way. I believe that nobody needs to die here - Human or Drake." The Druid bowed his head and placed both hands on his staff as he waited. The others would probably think him rather bizarre now. That was fine. People like him were oft misunderstood. Why should any creature die needlessly? Killing the Drakes here would serve no purpose when there were alternative solutions. Unless of course, they were the unreasonable sort of Drake. Some animals would listen to you, some would not. Just like people. It would probably surprise most of the folk gathered here that animals could be a lot like people when you got to know them.

Baldomar gave his old mate a hug "Still hate them." He said "Still look as beautiful as ever" adding the last phrase in a sarcastic tone. Then Kellan tried to persuade everyone to come along with a bad combination of phrases that he all cut off then decided to settle for something. "Kellan, never try that again, stick to swordplay, more your kind of thing..." Baldy said with a grin on is face "Also what is in it for us honestly? I know that guy over there" he said pointing at Aston "Is calling the shots, but I like to know what I am getting out of this than some Hammer time with me old mate."

Conrad sat on the bench. Could this have been a dream? That would explain his own deja vu but what about hers? Something was really odd about it all and he really wanted to figure it all out right now. So if not a dream, he went through his thoughts again, while it was impossible to remember all the faces he had seen and all the people he had mate, this sense of familiarity meant they had been good friends or close comrades, yet nothing turned up in his mind it just blanked. There wasn't anything he could come up with to explain it, while he knew that beforehand it hadn't stopped him from that to go over everything before. Then he felt something shift next to him, it was Tessa, her head resting on his shoulder. After waiting for a little bit he took off his gauntlets and put them next to him on the bench and sat there with the girl leaning on his shoulder, he couldn't help but smile a little bit because of it. Even though he didn't know the girl too well yet she felt familiar, he put an arm around her to steady her seeing carriage rides were notorious for being bumpy and he wouldn't want her to fall over and be in for a rather rude awakening.

Aston had decided to go with the stranger, which made Badun's choice a lot easier. "I think I'll second that motion" He said, turning to Aston "It appears to be mutually beneficial for...all of us"

The conversation went forth about what they were going to do. It seemed like one of the people in their group knew the man that had walked in too. There seemed to be a lot happening at once but Anthea did her best to keep track of it all. It got hard when the man started rambling about how not pretty they were then how pretty they were then taking it back. Over all in the end he just made her very, very uncomfortable.

Anthea stepped back away from the group for a moment, almost trying to hide herself. She was doing her best to try to fit in here and be like the rest, as she was sent to aid them. The rest had come to help too, so as Sanderson pointed out she wasn't any less than the others here, and yet she still felt like it. Anthea picked back up on what was going on when Aston began talking. So it seemed that they agreed to go with this crazy man. Well that was no comfort to her. Either way what choice did she really have? Anthea simply gave a nod of agreement as she waited for them to start heading out. She didn't understand what was so important to steal from the tomb, but she felt she had no right to question it in the end.

"My confidence has nothing to do with this. The job I left to be here however does. You act like you pulled random beggars off the street, not a city guard." Laurentinus stated to the woman. However it wasn't worth it, he wasn't going to argue about it anymore, and it seemed she wasn't willing to either, as it was almost time for them to head out. He watched as Shyra took the front seat before he climbed into the back of the carriage.

Laurentinus sat across from Conrad and Tessa. He was slightly annoyed that not only did they defend his point, but it seemed to completely ignore him altogether. Laurentinus turned his face to the window and watched the city go by. When he turned back to them he noticed the girl was sleeping on the mans shoulder and the man holding her. Ren glared at him. From what he noticed he just met the girl and he was getting this friendly with her. However no one cared to talk to him except that one drunk. He had also never had a close female friend. That mixed with the fact that they didn't back him up earlier just angered Ren. He couldn't help but glare at Conrad as his mind circled with thoughts of the man who was oh so friendly with his sister before he murdered her. A distrust settled in the back of his mind, he would have to keep an eye on Conrad, make sure he didn't try to hurt Tessa in the end.

Conrad was sitting in the carriage steadying Tessa next to him, then he caught Laurentinus glaring at him. He didn't know the mans name, didn't catch it though he had caught his displeasure at being tested like this. He spoke up in general "For those who did not catch my name, I am Conrad, mind if I ask all of you your names as well?" He remained quiet to hear out the names of everyone and then locked his gaze on Laurentinus who was still glaring at him "Is there a problem, Laurentinus?" He asked the man must have been about his age, he too wore heavy armour. Simply been an adventurer or maybe an ex-soldier like himself? Maybe he would inquire after that further on a later date, he shot a quickl glance to Tessa, still asleep soundly.

Conrad, so that was the name of this man that he had seen in passing. Laurentinus mumbled his name in reply, not really caring to make much conversation at the time. His head was spinning with nasty thoughts and memories and he was rather annoyed at this Conrad guy, though the reason wasn't totally 100% clear to him. That was when Conrad seemed to meet his gaze. Sh*t, that was never good, that always meant talking... and sure enough he spoke.

"No, no problem." He said turning away. He remained looking a way for a moment before taking a deep breath and looking at Conrad again. "Just don't you think you seem to be taking things a little quick with her, getting too close too soon?" He asked in a rather accusing tone. The whole situation seemed fishy to him. This man getting so close to Tessa, yet not bothering to be friends with anyone else. As much as he didn't want to think about it, it reminded him of what happened to his sister. That being said this strange man had no right to know that. All he needed to know was that he didn't agree with it. Perhaps he was wrong about Conrad and he wasn't a bad guy, but Laurentinus couldn't afford to let those thoughts in his mind. As soon as he dropped his guard was when someone else died. Though he was out of people he cared for that could be killed so the blow would be slightly less. He had no plans on making friends here just to watch another person he cared for die.

[IMG] Laurentinus seemed nervous after he had locked his gaze at him. He didn't seem too enthousiastic to talk and when asked if there was a problem he replied there wasn't one, Conrad narrowed his eyes. There wasn't a problem now? Oh interesting why glare at someone when there wasn't a problem. Then he apparantly made up his mind and it was revealed what the issue was. "Well, Laurentinus, I am not sure if you have been observing the entire time, but she fell asleep it just so happened that she slid this way and her head landed on my shoulder, as you might also know carriages aren't exactly known for having comfortable rides, so should I just let her fall over at the next rough road section?" Conrad asked him, looking the man straight into his eyes as he spoke.

Shyra was still talking to the man known as Laurentinus. Shyra continued to talk about know things. She was really starting to regret her choice in asking her for help with magic, but who else was there? Shyra said they all seem to have some basic ability. She did not know what was so great about moving some puddle of water. She begain to look out the window of the carriage. That was when they started to move towards Ashten Village. Hopefully nothing would happen, but of course it would. She then watched the girl and the man, she would later find out name was Conrad. The girl soon fell asleep on Conrad's shoulder and she thought nothing of it. It seemed like no one was going to talk. She could at least enjoy the view. Then she went back to looking out the window. She could feel the ground beneath them as they continued on there journey. The was when she began to think of her magic. What if she did something and hurt someone on this carriage? What if the rivers of god came towards them and she was unable to help? Fear was all she could thing about and the look of she was going to be sick on her face. That was when Laurentinus and Conrad started talking. Conrad asking Laurentinus if there was a problem. This could not be good. They began to argue about the girl who's head rested on Conrad's shoulder. Some one was going to hurt some one at some point if this continued that way it was going. The sad thing was there was nothing she could do about it. She began to look more sick on her face. She could not do anything. She was stuck in this carriage unable to do anything, but feel the ground go by.

Bryce just followed along, keeping to himself because he was a manly man and he didn't quite understand the concept of making friends. Although he had spoken with Anthea earlier, and that had gone well. But regardless, he just followed Sanderson with his helmet on to hide his face and keep anyone from catching his eye and forcing interaction because that's what manly men do.

Kara watched with a slightly bored expression on her face as Laurentinus and Conrad bantered back and forth. "All men are the same." She announced with a sigh before leaning forward and shaking Tessa awake. "Wake up Princess, they're fighting over you. Might as well be awake to watch it." She sat back, crossing her arms across her chest with a smile.

Tessa jumped slightly when Kara woke her up, then blushed and apologized before pulling her knees up to her chest and wrapping her cloak around herself. It wasn't as effective as hiding in the bushes, but it worked, for in here and right now. She peeked over her knees at the girl who had woken her, who was watching with a smile. What does she mean, fighting? In the wild, animals did that over territory, or mating rights, or food. There was no food here, and even though the carriage was slightly cramped, it wouldn't make sense to start a fight about territory. That left mating rights.

"You both might as well look elsewhere because I'm not producing children anytime soon." She muttered, hiding her face once more behind her legs.

This earned a laugh from Kara, and a warm pat on her knee. "You're adorable. I'm going to stick with you." The girl told her, causing Tessa to blush a little. What strange people these were.

Conrad got rather annoyed by Kara's remark though he barely showed any of it. As she woke Tessa up he removed his arm from around her and folded his arms in front of him. He hadn't even been fighting over Tessa merely having an exchange in views with Laurentinus about their views on the matter. He felt Tessa shift beside him pulling her legs up and hiding within her cloak, she was a rather shy person then. Then came something entirely unexpected, no surprise given the slippery slope Kara had set the girl on. "Tessa, I believe you misunderstand what exactly transpired, hardly surprising given you were sleeping, but apparantly letting someone sleep is a bloody crime. You feel asleep and your head slid onto my shoulder, I put an arm around you so you wouldn't fall and could just continue to sleep. However Laurentinus and I started to discuss this as there was a misunderstanding, but hey what do I know, I'm just a man after all and we are all the same lying bastards that are only out for one thing." He said unable to keep the annoyance from seeping into his voice, not even looking at her now, he moved away a bit putting more room between himself and the girl. I mean honestly was it such a crime to let someone just sleep? Some of them had been coming from far and who knew when the next time was they could rest again. He sighed you try to do something right for once and everyone is misunderstanding and being a prick about it all. He looked out the window watching the landscape roll past them, ignoring the others in the carriage because apparantly everything he did was to claim a woman. He probably would be unable to make these people understand what motivated him to do so, Whytehold soldiers looked after each other. He shot a quick glance at Laurentinus and gave him a bit of an apologetic smile, then looking away again. While it had been a discussion he had phrased his points rather aggresively and that hadn't been right, but he would not let himself be misunderstood as to what he did and would defend them with conviction, something that he sometimes overdid a little. It had been a long journey and he was a bit weary which seeped into his normal kind demeanor.

Laurenitus rolled his eyes at Conrad's reply. "There are ways to awake her politely to move." He replied. There was no excuse for holding a random lady like that. It was inappropriate in his opinion. However his opinion seemed to mean very little here, no one seemed to care what he had to say on the matter. But what could he do, there was only so much he could do to attempt to protect the girl from a bad fate.

Of course in the midst of this conversation someone else had to stick their nose in and wake Tessa up. Now things were even more awkward than they already were. The girl who Conrad had been holding seemed to be uncomfortable and awkward about it, a small victory for Laurentinus. However her words sent him into a blush.
"Uh, um no. We weren't... I wasn't nothing like that. I was merely telling Conrad here that it seemed a little inappropriate having his arm around you, being so close so soon. I wasn't implying... I didn't mean it to seem like I wanted... er... that." Laurentinus stammered. He was usually pretty collected, but he had not expected anyone to say anything like that to him. He quickly turned his face away to look out the window, attempting to regain his demeanor. He noticed Conrads apologetic smile but didn't bother returning one of his own. He was feeling far to awkward for any form of niceties.
