Bryce frowned slightly at Anthea's response. "You didn't come here of your own free will?" That seemed a little...odd. For all his faults, at least most of his actions had been his own choice. "I'm sure you'll be a great addition to the Society, but you should only do it if that's what you want."

Bryce felt the inkling that others wanted to talk to
Anthea and thank her for her kinds actions, so he stood back, and nodded to her. "I get the feeling that others want to speak to you. You seem to have gained some popularity, so I'll leave you alone. Thank you again." He set down the cup and strolled off in some random direction to do something until something else happened.

Anthea wasn't sure how to respond to the question about her not doing this on her own will. She bit the inside of her lip as she thought of the response. "I want to be here, but no, I didn't choose it myself, I do whatever my master wills me. He saved me from my inevitable death on the street, so I owe him my life, no matter what he wants me to do." She explained to Bryce. However she didn't seem sad about it, or like it was that forced. She actually seemed pretty fine that that was how her life worked. However soon after Bryce left to let others talk to her.

One of the others that seemed to want to talk to her was Sanderson, given he called out to her moments after, from the seat at the head of the table in which he sat. He was telling her she didn't need to serve tea like she had. Honestly Anthea didn't know how to do much different or deal with herself in this situation, but she felt like she should try and oblige. Anthea slowly approached Sanderson. Stepping beside his seat she gave him a small bow. "Yes sir. I am sorry sir. Just force of habit." She explained before following the other instruction to take a seat. Anthea selected the closest seat to where she was standing and sat down in it. She poured her own cup of tea, and glanced around to see who else was eating. When she was enough people had helped themselves to the food, she decided to pick a scone up for herself. She felt a little awkward being at a big fancy table like this, eating with all the others. She saw people sit and eat and talk in a similar fashion plenty before, she just was never a part of it. So to join at the table was a strange, uncomfortable experience for her, and every bite of her food she wondered if she was using the proper etiquette for the dish she was eating.

Laurentinus let out a long sigh as they were given permission to eat. He was more than happy to follow that. Laurentinus didn't waste much time piling his plate with various fruits and pastries. He glanced at the others as he did so. He had not been very social so far and he still didn't feel like it. As much as Laurentinus joined this society without much fear of things going too wrong, he was still a little nervous about people and their motives. He wasn't so trusting of people after two members of his own family where murdered in two different instances and his father left them. Either way he would make the world a better place, and he felt like this was the first step to it. Laurentinus just hoped that no one here would stand in the way of making things better for everyone. They all seemed like decently good people so far, it wouldn't be pleasant to heave to take one of them out, but he would do whatever he had to do.

Panola decided it was time to gather her wits about her and go inside. Panola sat down, knowing that it would be best to be polite. She picked up a scone and tasted the unfamiliar baked-good until she decided that without her mouth full now, it may be a good time to introduce herself .

"When one is given the chance to experience a brand new culture, a world you've never seen before you would regret not taking it more then you would ever regret going in the first place." Panola replied strongly, attempting to give a classy and meaningful answer. "Panola." She gave a small bow of respect.

Baldomar had been staring at the banquet to try and decide what exactly to eat, he wasn't gonna wait for any permission to eat but there was so much to choose from and all of it looked delicious. When he had finally decided what to eat, the green light had already been given he loaded up a plate with pastries and scones and sat down next to Laurentinus with a grin on his face. He was shoveling the food into his face in quite the uncivilised way. Even with his feet on the table he leaned back and listened to everyone telling their stories when there was a quiet moment he decided to share his story "Well I kind of got into a bit of a fight with the Elder and to be honest I was getting a bit fed up with his stunts and decided to leave and seeing I have done some adventuring myself before and quite enjoyed myself I thought hey why not go back to doing that and heard about this society." He said, leaning back in his chair but he now removed his boots from the table. He glanced over to Laurentinus' plate "Fine selection you got there mate, though you really ought to try this one." He said holding out a blackberry pastry with a bite missing from it. "As we say where I come from sharing is caring."

He had been traveling for days on end headed for Varewyn and it had been a tiring journey, he was glad he was finally there. The pamphlet he had read mentioned a Bracklewood Manor and since he wasn't familiar with the city he had asked a helpful citizen for directions and now found himself on the path leading towards the impressive structure, he took a moment to admire it's architecture and then walked up to the door, it was already open and he was greeted by a woman who asked for his named "Conrad Heinrich Adelbrecht Carsten von Eisenstein III, Conrad for short, pleasure to meet you" He said and was then directed to the main hall where a banquet was going on several people were already there and he found himself a place to sit at the table as he put himself down on one of the chairs it creaked it a little but it held perfectly fine. The heavy armour he wore added quite a bit of weight to him. He took a cup of tea and a scone and listened as some bloke on the other side of the room explained how he had a disagreement with his village elder and then ended up here. "I am Conrad and I hail from Whytehold, I came here after I was discharged from the military and needed another way to make a living."

Aston rolled his eyes. He was the suspicious person? He was one of the organisers! That was it, this woman couldn't have actually been invited! Surely Sanderson wouldn't have brought someone this infitessimally stupid along surely?
"My name is Aston Venger and I'm one of the people organising the Adventurer's Society." He pointed out bluntly and put a hand on one of his swords, raising an eyebrow. "Now that you've made yourself seem very, very silly, I suggest that you come with me. After all, it seems like there's something we ought to be talking about with Sanderson." He gave her a hard look. He hoped that she would choose the easy way out here. Anything else would be horribly, horribly inconvenient.

Meanwhile, the Druid explored the tables, hunting around and picking out particularly tasty looking morsels of food. A little cake here or a piece of meat there. Some of the food was entirely unfamiliar to him and he welcomed the new experiences. They didn't have the materials for things like this at home. A small part of him feared that he would get too used to this. Admittedly, it seemed like they piled far, far too much sugar on to some of these delicacies. What they were able to get was sparse and so was used sparingly, but it seemed that this Sanderson had plenty of money to spare on such things. One would have to though, he supposed. After all, there were quite a few of them in this society that he created. There was a small village's worth of people gathering in this big room by the looks of things. Lots of other people were talking, but he couldn't say that he had a lot to say at the moment. He was content to simply watch people go by. Eventually, something was going to happen. Once it did, he would finally act.

Bryce snickered at Baldomar's response, running his hands through his hair. Sometimes, after spending a great time of time in the helmet, his scalp felt suffocated. He warily glanced at what appeared to be a newly come nobleman before sidling over, nearly bumping into a....tree? No, a person. Bryce mumbled an apology before shuffling away towards the table once more. He didn't have an appetite, but he wanted more room away from these strangers.

Ooooooooh shit. That had gone way past what she expected. Besides being wary to nearly a state of paranoia, Aston was now suggesting violence. And she knew what to do with threatened violence. Glancing back down the hall, the others seemed preoccupied with socializing, and other niceties. Whatever people with money and free time did. She? She was not one of them.

"You know...." She sighed, and straightened her shirt, casting her eyes downward. "I'm not so great at talking with people." Her hand brushed the sill of a nearby window, collecting a handful of dust in her palm. "I think there might be a third option."

And with that, she threw the dust at
Aston's face and bolted back down the hall. Gods please let there be an exit.

Tessa sighed as she walked up the stone steps. Her legs were sore from so much walking, and as she rolled her shoulders to loosen them, the cloak that was her constant companion flared a little, making her shiver. She would be happy to have a warm place to stay for the night. Pushing past the door, she blinked for a moment as her eyes settled in the darker room. "Hello. I'm Tessa Jones. For the Adventurer's Society." She told the nice looking lady in the front, before bowing politely and stepping inside. She did not see anyone she recognized, but why would she? Living in the wilderness so long tended to make the world forget who she was, when she was in a forest where time seemed to stand still.

Perhaps this was why she was here. She needed time to move again.

Laurentinus grit his teeth as a man took a seat next to him and put his dirty boots on the table. "If you don't mind-" He began before the man began speaking. Was this man drunk or something? What was his problem? What was wrong with him? The problem was he had no power anymore to kick him out, unlike his old position in the guard. Instead he listened to what the man was saying, at least his speech was coherent. "Why does that not surprise me in the slightest. You probably deserved to be kicked out." Laurentinus grumbled to himself.

It wasn't long before the man removed his feet from the table at last. Well that was a step in the right direction.... or not. Laurentinus changed his mind on that when the man offered him a pastry with a bite out of it. What the hell, really?
"No... Thank you." Laurentinus had to force the last two words out of his mouth. He had no desire to be polite to this barbaric man, but he had to keep a good face on for the fact he just got here and didn't want to have to leave for not playing nice with the other members. But if it was up to him he would have probably punched the man in the face by now. Laurentinus turned back to his food. People seemed to be sharing about why they came but he wanted no part of it. He didn't care for anyone to know why he was there.

Conrad was sitting down listening to others and there seemed to be some discord on the other end of the room. One of the two people looked really really odd and he had been watching the man did seem to be deserving of the treatment he had received and was receiving he seemed to be justified. The man was acting like a savage. He looked around the room and saw snickering about what the savage had said. Then he turned his head to the doors as a girl entered at first he wanted to turn his attention back towards the savage again, but he couldn't. He looked at the girl again, he was certain he had never seen her, but his mind was nagging at him telling him otherwise. He knew something wasn't right and didn't like it. Then realising he had been staring turned his gaze away and hung his head a little to avoid her gaze he couldn't tell if it was working but he figured that if he laid low nothing would happen.

DM message: Kara rolled a 15 for agility, successfully evading Aston. However as she runs down the hall she bumps into an enigmatic figure and falls to the ground...

    Sanderson Bracklewood
As Kara was running down the hall she was suddenly intercepted by a man who almost seemed to appear from nowhere. Despite her great momentum as she slammed into the figure he remained unmoved, and Kara fell to the ground.

"Young lady you should not be running down hallways" stated the butler expressionlessly, it was of course Chesters, the enigmatic custodian of the Bracklewood Manor
"Aston, old sport, what is the meaning of this?" Sanderson suddenly strode into the hallway purposefully, having been alerted by the commotion. He walked over to the young lady and held out his hand to help her up "That was remarkable, remarkable I say! You have true skill and intuition! I don't even care that you're trespassing in my home" He chuckled slightly "It is sad you have turned to crime, but if you join the Adventurer's Society we can put those skills to good use, and you will be generously paid and fed" Sanderson Bracklewood looked down at the girl with an understanding and almost fatherly smile, it was a smile that somehow knew and understood the girl's troubles, a smile so totally focused on her. A smile that would forgive the girl no matter what, and would be with her to the bitter end, if she accepted his kindness. "How about it?"

Tessa looked around, getting the feeling that she was being watched. Upon searching the room, she found nothing, but the feeling lingered. She stepped further into the room, tugging her cloak closer around her body, as though hiding. Whatever the feeling had been born from, it appeared not to exist any longer. Feeling a little lost, Tessa moved to one of the corners of the room and sat on the floor to wait.

After Kara used her godly skills of deception and agility to dodge Aston, she hit something comparable to a brick wall. Tumbling backwards, she looked up to stare into the face of a large and very emotionless man. The only thought that her mind could produce was, damn. As the man spoke to her, she shivered, feeling as though she had run into a slightly bigger problem then the one she had before. Less pointy, much bigger.

That was all erased as yet another
figure came into the picture. He offered a hand to help her up, showering her impromptu and failed escape with praise. She blushed as she took the hand, letting the man pull her up. Then he offered her a place to stay. To stay. "Sounds too good to be true." She answered him bluntly, the blush fading as she considered her predicament.

"But I suppose I could give it a shot. If there really will be food." And a bed, oh gods a glorious bed. She had almost forgotten what that felt like.

    "If he", she pointed at
Aston, "promises not to try and attack me."

    Sanderson Bracklewood:
"Oh but it is true, this world can be cruel but I assure you we are not" Sanderson answered kindly, he chuckled as the girl demanded peaceful treatment from Aston "I'm sure the lad meant well, he's just a bit overenthusiastic! And as for food, there's brunch in the dining hall right now, please help yourself!"
"Sanderson, shouldn't we be starting the expeditions about now?" Shyra frowned, they were running late. Shyra had been watching this whole affair with disdain, they'd ruined the floors. She gave Aston and the girl a judgemental look, did they really have to try and start a fight in the manor?
"Patience dear sister! We should at least allow our guests to settle down for a moment. It was nice to meet you young lady, I'm sure we'll meet again!" With that Sanderson left to wander around the hall, he soon came across Lyra Arcamere "Lyra my dear! You haven't had a bite to eat all morning! Go eat some scones, after that come with me to the Armoury, we're going big game hunting" Sanderson grinned, hunting was his passion, and this was a chance to hunt some of the most dangerous animals in Tyrrus. Eventually he strode back into the dining hall "When you're ready for adventure come talk to me, Shyra, or Aston, we've got some expeditions to go out on, I can't wait!" with that Sanderson went to the armoury

DM message: In your next posts you can finish brunch, then talk to the leaders and we can start the expeditions, please go to the mission you've signed up for. Also can we not waste any more time I'm hyped to get this started XD

Big Game Hunting - Go talk to Sanderson in the Armoury

Darklight Disturbance - Go talk to Shyra at the stables

Mists of Fogwarden - Go talk to Aston in the lobby

Bryce watched the three figures, clearly the leaders, walk in different directions. So he had to pick one to follow, eh? Well, that was nontraditional. But he wasn't here to question their leadership skills, he was here for redemption. Well, he was more of a hunter, and one of the fellows walking away had mentioned something of the sort. Bryce went after Sanderson, clearing his throat in order to get the older man's attention. "I was wondering if I could sign up to follow you, sir." He said, saluting Sanderson. "It would be an honor, sir."

He really should probably work on toning down his military instincts.

Tessa rubbed her face and sighed. She refused to go on any trip that involved the slaughter of animals, no matter what kind of danger they posed. She couldn't do it in good conscience, not with where she came from. So that left the woman, or the second male. Woman it is. She decided, feeling that maybe having a female as a leader might somehow help her integrate easier into the social circles.

She went out to the stables, where the
woman seemed to have gone, checking for her amidst the smell of hay and horse. "Um, hello?" She called out, unsure of where the woman had gone. "I'm looking for Shyra? I'd like to go with you on your expedition."

Kara watched the man walk away, before sticking her tongue out at Aston. That would show him. She turned to walk away, pausing. Missions? Already? Well that put a dent in her plans. Kara quickly walked up to the so called brunch table, grabbing two rolls and a handful of grapes, before walking away. As she stuffed her face as quickly as possible, she kept an eye out. She certainly didn't want to follow Aston, after the way he had treated her. Never mind that he had caught her doing something illegal. He had been mean! Sanderson had been nicer, but Kara hadn't really killed an animal before. Besides a pigeon. And she didn't know how she felt about that. So, Shyra it was.

She went out to the stables, where another woman already stood. Not
Shyra, but someone who wanted to go along too. Kara watched her as she continued to eat quickly, and waited for Shyra to appear.

Baldomar felt like he had teased Laurentinus enough now he had declined his hospitality, probably one of those folks who felt too good about themselves to allow to be helped. He finished his plate as he waited for something to happen, Sanderson then vanished only to return later about something with expeditions. There was one hunting Drakes and while that sounded appealing, he remembered his last run-in with them and shuddered, that one wasn't gonnawork out for him just right now. The Darklight disturbance didn't sound too thrilling so he decided to go on the other mission, going to find Aston in the lobby when he found the man he looked straight at him and spoke up "So what are we gonna do today?"

His trick had worked keeping his head down seemed to have helped significantly for getting unnoticed. Their host left to deal with something else, he didn't worry and looked at the available expeditions. He had already decided on which one he would go. Darklight Caverns, he felt drawn there but it was odd he had never felt something quite like it a sort of fate drawing him there. He had to go report to Shyra at the stables, he walked over to the stables looking for the person named Shyra. He found two people already there one that was still eating and the other one.... That same girl again, well there was no avoiding it now. He'd probably do well to just introduce himself and see what happened seeing Kara was still eating and it was rude to interrupt people when they were eating he walked over to Tessa as he did so the maddening question appeared again why did he feel like he had seen her before? No matter he held his hand out "Hello, I'm Conrad and you are?" He asked in a calm tone, keeping the odd thoughts at bay pushing them away, because they probably meant nothing. He wasn't going to speak of those strange ideas that he somehow knew this person for there was no way that he did. Plus it was good to know the name of the person standing next to you on the battlefield and right now he didn't know anyone's name really aside from the leaders.

Arthur wiped his mouth with a napkin and began to tidy up after himself. He'd noticed a young woman serving them earlier and found her initiative charming. So what if this Sanderson fellow had hired help? It would only be fair for the would-be adventurers to lend a hand and repay his hospitality.

Once he was sure he'd cleaned up every nonexistent crumb and spill, Arthur got up from his seat and proceeded to where the leaders had once stood. Whilst he held admiration for Sanderson he couldn't stand hunting, he was after all a healer not a killer. Foraging was more his speed, finding ingredients with which to help others. The woman, he believed he had heard her called Shyra, seemed rather bitter and so that left him with the man, Aston.

Happy he'd made the right choice, he strode after Aston, curious to find out what adventure awaited him.

Anthea remained silent as she began to eat her food, quite slowly. She remained quiet, and thus unnoticed by the others around her for the most part. She wasn't offended no one was paying mind to her however, it was something she was quite used to. She had a habit of shrinking herself into a corner somewhere to draw as little attention to herself as possible. After all that was what she was always taught to do. The girl was still trying to adjust to the fact that she had to be her own person, not just follow orders. The fact that she was allowed to be at an event like this, allowed to be seen.

Anthea had barely made it through half of her scone before Sanderson came back in mentioning that they were ready to set off on expeditions and were to go talk to either Aston, Shyra or himself. Anthea slowly placed her scone back on her plate. She looked almost sad to walk away from it, but she didn't want to put anyone behind. She got up from her seat and found her way to Aston, the one her master knew. "I hope you don't mind me coming along... It is just that I feel master would prefer I go with someone he knows." Anthea said as she approached Aston, her head low and hand folded in front of her.

Laurentinus didn't really know what he wanted to do now, except for get away from the savage that had sat next to him. When Sanderson walked in the room announcing it was time to go on expeditions, Laurentinus was more than happy for the excuse to get up and leave the seat next to Baldomar. Normally he would think it rude, and that is why he hadn't done it until now, but he had an excuse this time. Laurnentinus purposely lingered for a moment to watch where Baldomar was about to go, once the other man chose, then he did.

Going a far different way then Baldomar, Laurentinus found his way to the stables. He wasn't too sure about his selection but hunting wasn't his thing, Baldomar was going towards Aston when he left, so it seemed that this disturbance thing was his only option. He let out a sigh before he walked towards Shyra.
"My lady, I am at your service for your expedition." Laurentinus told her politely as he stood before the mistress responsible for bringing them there, though from what he had seen so far it was probably more Sanderson than his sister in whom he stood before.

She stood by waiting for the opportunity to talk to a girl that was interesting (Anthea). That was when the man she was talking to walked off. Now was her chance to talk to the girl. That was when the girl went over to Sanderson to talk to him. No, no, no her chance was gone just like that. She began to feel alone. She was unsure what to do now. She began to watch the other eat. She thought about eating too. She was not all that hungry to began with. That was when Sanderson Bracklewood came back in and said 'When you're ready for adventure come talk to me, Shyra, or Aston, we've got some expeditions to go out on' She thought about finding Shyra. She did say she would help her with her magic. She was not sure where to start looking for her. When the time was right she was sure she would find her. She then watched the girl she wanted to talk to stand up and go after Sanderson Bracklewood maybe another time then. She then walked out of the dinning hall and decided to explore. The first place that crossed her mind was outside. Part of her life growing up was outside so what better way then to see what was at this manor. She walked out the door and began to look at the various things outside. She soon found the stables. In the stables were various horses. She was reminded of the horses that were on the land that she grew up on. She went up to a horse and started feeding it a carrot she took from the table. It was not like anyone was going to eat it anyways.

He was siting and eating without saying anything to anyone. It really did not seem like the time to talk anyways. That was when Sanderson Bracklewood came in and said 'When you're ready for adventure come talk to me, Shyra, or Aston, we've got some expeditions to go out on' He stood up ready to go. He walked out of the dinning hall and into the hallway. He found Aston Venger. Well that was easy. "Sir Venger I would like to come with you on your expedition." With that said all he had to do now was wait.

Tessa turned slightly. This man was not Shyra, clearly, but someone else. She tilted her face, then extended her hand from the cloak. "Tessa." She murmured. When their hands touched, she shivered, wrapping her other arm around herself. A strange sense of deja vu settled over her, and she found herself staring at their hands, trying to recall where she had done this before. She hadn't met this man, she was sure of it. But while her mind steadily denied the idea, her body told her that it was true.

If there was one thing she'd learned from living in the forest, it was that the body's instincts were stronger, and usually more right then the mind's reasoning. "Where have we met?" She asked
Conrad, withdrawing her hand and pulling it back beneath her cloak, using the cloth as something of a shield. She didn't like uncertain things. Among the animals and plants, uncertainty was a surefire way to get you killed.

He had already been confused by the thoughts spinning through his head, but it turned out he wasn't the only one haunted in this way. When he shook her hand it got even worse, a strange sense of déja vu as if he had done that exact action before, someone was playing a joke on him it had to be. But he didn't know any of these people and none knew him so how could it be a joke then? He dug through all his memories in an attempt to maybe remember this person, but then she spoke up. It hadn't been just him. He withdrew his hand too but left it at his side. He stood there for a bit, not knowing what to say to answer her question. He finally decided to break the silence "If I am honest, I do not know... I haven't met you and I am quite certain of it, yet I can't shake the feeling of having met or even known you before.... I had it as soon as I saw you entering the dining hall... I can't give you any explanation for this, I'm sorry." He said, picking his words carefully. It was odd yet also comforting to know he wasn't the only one. Maybe between the two of them they could figure out what it happened. The moment they had shook each other's hands he had caught her staring at them and knew she too had been feeling as if they had done so before. But it had been the first time, he was certain. He had heard of such things happening, but always disregarded those stories without as much as a thought as mere make-belief, but this wasn't make-belief it was really happening to him now and he didn't know what to think of it. In the mean time another armoured man had arrived and some other girl, but he didn't pay much more attention to either of them.

Iris had simply sat at the table, slowly but surely eating her way through all the food that was present near her. While the woman seemed somewhat docile and unassuming, and ate at a fairly constant pace, the pace never slowed down, and soon enough what had once been a table filled with all kinds of pastry was steadily looking more like just a barren table cloth with empty plates. Soon enough, as the group had started to depart from the table and the man in charge of the whole league, Sanderson, had proclaimed that it was time to go on missions, she removed herself from the table as well. Looking at the three of the people who had a gathering around them, as they were leading the expeditions, she decided to just go with whatever person seemed the friendliest. Looking at the three leaders, she then realized that she hadn't really heard much from two of them...at all. So she decided to go with the one that she had. After joining up with Sanderson's group, with a cheerful tone in her voice she said, "let's go hunting~"

"Right recruits!" Sanderson bellowed "Have you, perchance, heard of a town north of the Everwood called Fordington? Well recently they've had a bit of trouble with some enlarged reptiles. Drakes. Drakes are coming down from the mountains for some reason and have chosen Fordington as their new abode. Of course, we can't really stand for this" Sanderson told the gathered recruits "So chaps, our mission, if you wish, is to have a little romp over there and have a go at getting rid of them. Sound good?" Sanderson shouldered his rifle and holstered his pistol, he grinned at the newbies "Lets go make some Drake Steak"

    Shyra Bracklewood:
Shyra arrived at the stables to find a bunch of other people standing around
"Chesters, get the carriage!" she yelled at the enigmatic butler, she turned back to the recruits with a stern expression "You want to adventure? You want to travel beyond Tyrrus? Well let me tell you, you'll die the second you step foot beyond the mountains. None of you are experienced enough! You don't even want to know what happened when I went to Hirokir! There were snakes the size of horses! Deadly caterpillars!" she gestured wildly to emphasise the point "So. In order to train you we have to wander around Tyrrus for a bit. Firstly we're going to head over to the Darklight Caverns, heard of them? Probably not. They're the only route we have between Tyrrus and the savage lands of Hirokir. Personally I don't think you're up the the task of even getting there, but Sanderson has faith. Probably misguided faith. Nevetheless, get in the carriage"
