Can't get to the article from my phone, but a top scientist announced yesterday that we are entering a 30-year global COOLING.

What I find somewhat sad is that everyone is ranting about global warming and how we're destroying Earth, but once the temperatures drop and people start questioning, global cooling comes up.
Though I always believed global warming was bullshit, what do you guys think?

Well, you specifically know my thoughts on this. For the rest:

Global warming is not fake or anything, it's just not usually life-threatening. Warming and cooling go in cycles; it's a thing the Earth does, and always has, for centuries. Granted, it seems we are seeing a rather harsh cold snap this time around; I live in the sub-tropics and it feels like frickin' New York right now.

The reason everyone latched onto GW is because we need something to fear. Sad, but true. It did encourage people to be more environmentally-aware, which ought to be good for us in the long run, but it's no more a cause for alarm than, say, tornado season.

Back in the 1970's it was "global cooling", then in the early 80's it became "global warming". Now it apparently global cooling again... lol.

But anyways yeah, I don't think things like global warming are entirely man-made or life-threatening at all. If you ever watch Al Gore's "An Inconvenient Truth" you might want to stab yourself in the face a couple times with all the false statics they try to feed you.

I've always said I don't give a toss whether or not we are having a direct effect on climate change, anything that reduces our impact on the environment and our usage of natural resources is awesome.

Also, it is climate change. Our climate is changing, rather erratically and out of our control it seems. Still doesn't mean we can't try to do something about it. At least then we can tell our descendants that we tried.

I understand cycles like this have been going on for eons, the Earth's like anything alive, it has cycles and periods and so on.

What i'm wondering is if this cycle is happening more rapidly than usual. I don't know much about how quickly these cycles come around, and if they are too fast that could be a problem.

Used to talk about stuff like this at college when we got bored in Biology and Geography XD
I think global warming is real but it is made out to be alot worse than it actually is. As for the ice age, he may be right as we are about 1000 years overdue one according to some report a while back, the ironic thing maybe that global warming saves us from the ice age XD

Climate change is a real thing, but it's not any kind of threat and human interference adds little if any cause to it. These are facts.

There's absolutely nothing we can do about this. It's a cycle. It's going to happen. Put on a jacket and get over it, but please don't go on and on about how we need to buy a hybrid car to stop it. Please.

LOL. Not any kind of a threat? Climate change has been the biggest cause of extinctions throughout the history of the earth. It is responsible for the expansion of deserts, the rising of sea levels, harsher winters, hotter summers, changes in the behaviour of important animals in ecosystems (especially migratory species) and more extreme weather phenomenon.

I fail to see how anyone could see that any of that is "not any kind of threat". Also, as for things like hybrid cars, that is not just about climate. That is trying to wean us off of our heavy dependence on oil and other fossil fuels as power sources. They are limited and will eventually run out (I think most estimates are in the next 100 years). We need to start the change over now to allow other alternative sources of energy to be developed before we do well and truly run out of fossil fuels.

Global warming is very likely to be enhanced by man, according to the IPCC.
Since I'm gullible enough to believe that a bunch of educated men do their jobs well I'll believe in global warming for now.

These "mini ice ages" are natural phenomena that are frequent, temporary and completely survivable. Global warming will eventually have a detrimental effect on the periods between ice ages and mini ice ages. They are no excuse to stop caring about the antropologically strengthened greenhouse effect unless you are a convenience-hungry hedonist.
