Last Person to Post XI

Ok, thus far, I only have one problem with the series and that's Season 5's final episode "The Big Bang". Could you veteran Whovians help me out?

In the episode, the Doctor (1) comes from the future, gives Rory the sonic screwdriver and leaves. Rory then gets the present-time Doctor (2) out of the Pandorica using the sonic screwdriver. The Doctor (2) warps into the future, grabs a fez and a mop and goes back in time to give Rory the sonic screwdriver to let himself out. My question is how did the future Doctor (1) get out of the Pandorica? If he can never escape and the only way to open it is with the sonic screwdriver, how did he get out in the first place? Escaping presupposes that he was able to get out in the first place...

Or should I just not question it and enjoy the series?

The simple answer is; the same way Present-day Doctor got out. It was a stable time loop that always happened that way. Yes, it was a paradox, but so was most of the episode, which was resolved at the end by stopping the event entirely.

 

Alright. Works for me. Although, now that I think about it, since River keeps getting younger whenever she meets the Doctor, wouldn't she need to be introduced to Rory and Amy each time she sees them?

 

That's actually a very valid question. Still, Moffat has his ways.

Which essentially means that River met them for the first time at a certain point, and you have not gotten there yet so there doesn't need to be an introduction.

In a Good Man Goes to War, it's explained that River is Amy and Rory's daughter and because of that, she knows who they are EVERYTIME she sees them.

He got out because future Doctor went back to give it, I think? Yeah basically you don't question a lot of things, it's all very wibbly and sciency.

And it's okay Lox, I was spoiled too, but by Tumblr. But nonetheless it's okay I feel your pain!! T__T

I'm probably spoiling too much for myself on the TARDIS wikia, but there's so much info I need to know!!!

There's no actual beginning, it's just a circle. The Doctor gave Rory the Sonic and got out with Rory's help, then he went back in time and gave it to Rory, then he got it back out of Amy's Pocket.

Then past Rory released Past Doctor, becoming Future Doctor, and so on.

 

And I shall have to be happy with that.

It's a genuine scientific possibility. Don't "just be happy" with it, it's scientifically accurate.
