Pretty much yes, we'll say like jeans and stuff but more or less yes, pants=trousers. Say pants over here and it means underwear, gives 'pulled down your pants' a whole new meaning. Breeches isn't a common word here, though it is used sometimes usually to refer more to like specific types like riding breeches.

 

EXPLAIN MOVIE. EXPLAIN.

Underwear is underwear, or boxers, or panties, or tighty-whities, or briefs, or underpants, depending on the wearer and cut.

 

And then Tetsuo leaps into OUTTER FUCKING SPACE.

 

Yeah, we say most of them though I've never heard of 'tighty-whities' before, 'panties' is American too (Even though Bushy says that xD), they are knickers here. Underpants is obviously American but say it here and nobody would bat an eyelid. The word 'Pants' tends to refer more to male underwear (that isn't boxers?). There are various other ones too but I cant think.

 

It's like America and the UK are alternate universe counterparts that ended up in the same reality.

On a completely separate yet linguistically related matter, do you guys use John and Loo? Over here it's mostly just toilet or washroom.

Yeah, I say loo a fair amount, that's quite common here. John? I'm guessing from the context you don't mean the name, you mean it as another word for Toilet. I've never seen it mean that before. We say toilet and bathroom as well though or Ladies/Gents if you're out.

 

Oh, never heard anyone use Ladies/Gents before.I mean sure I see the signs but it's never spoken out. :-? Yeah John as in toilet! I know it's a thing somewhere, I just don't know where exactly. Maybe America, guys?
