You misunderstand, or I'm miscommunicating. I wouldn't be leaving over post templates, but everything that's changed. The site is now over-complicated, features that people actually joined for are now gone entirely. RPing, the main reason I'm on the site in the first place, is now a lot harder, since I have to go through glitchy Photobucket for all my banners and the like. There's a lot more than just post templates wrong with the site right now.

 

It's not just over post templates. There are a lot of other things about the new forum in general. I can understand it'll take some getting used to. But the other fact is, if we were the only members complaining. I'd understand that you think this was silly.
But a lot of people are complaining too.
I'm aware these issues may/likely will be fixed in the future. I never said they wouldn't be. In fact, I hope they are.
But right now... other than the great people on KHV that are keeping me here. KHV went from an easy to access, great forum to one that lost a lot of quality.
This is just my opinion (that I believe is shared) but yeah.
I think KHV was much better before.

Ah. My bad, then. I see your point, but..honestly it's not that complicated once you explore? There's a help manual being made, I believe. As for post templates? RP banners? Save the code in a word document. Copy and paste, etc. Then all you have to do is tweak the colours. That's all I can suggest.

Bushy, I understand that you're annoyed. The site is still in tweaking, like I said before. :v > Loss of Quality. I'm sorry but not really? Just because it isn't on Vb doesn't make it lesser quality. We all have to adjust. The new layout will grow on you, I hope. After spending half an hour or so on here, I figured the navigation system., unfollowed all the people because I thought it was unnecessary? Why don't you do the same?

 

The forum is almost exactly the same, it's just that some features have been renamed and slightly altered, with some being removed. You are making a big deal out of nothing. I do not care what your friends think, the reasons you have stated so far are silly. And we will not go back to vB, if you looked around you would figure out why we moved.

KHV has moved before and technically it was much worse than now, if everyone was like you we wouldn't have a spam zone right now.

 

Which would be fine, but the fact that I had Post Templates meant that I could handle all of my characters without any effort at all.
Plus my colours don't work anyway, I'm putting all my coding in manually.

Why in the blue hell was "friends" changed to "followers"? Just why? What was the point besides making the site seem more like Tweeter, and screw that.

I know, the colors don't work if you type them in manually. Go here get the colour you want and insert the code into the colour panel on here. The colour panel remembers the code for you, so you don't have to keep going back to the site, getting the colour etc. Sorry if I sound rude.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Just like you are entitled to yours, I'm also entitled to mine.
I'm not trying to force my opinion on others. As I said, I'm aware that other people like the changes too, just like there are those who do not.
Also, it's not just what my friends think. There are members I've never spoken to before who are saying things that I agree with.

I'm aware that we won't go back to vB. It doesn't change the fact that I and other people thought vB was better. Admittedly you do not, and fair enough. I respect that.

Also, if everyone was like me?
I'm one of the people who support the spam zone. That doesn't even make sense.
I get that you don't really like me, Christhor - but I don't see how that is relevant here.

Also, I do happen to know why we moved. It was explained in the 6.0 thread.
But the fact is that why we were moved isn't relevant to the fact that some people dislike the way the forum is now.
Just because the forum was moved for a reason (whether it was a good reason or not), that doesn't mean that people aren't allowed to dislike the changes.
Even if disliking the changes doesn't make a difference, again I express that everyone is entitled to their own opinions, and people will have them regardless of whether others agree with them or not.

 

You say that as if each and every change was done individually and deliberately. They wanted to change to a "more secure" host. That's not what they've gotten though, because if people want to hack, they'll still find a way to hack no matter what system we're on.

No, I mean that I AM putting it in manually, and it WAS working when I did that. It WASN'T working when I tried to use the automatic method for it.
The fact is though, it's not tough. Not at all. As I said; my options are to wait and see if things improve, or to leave. I'm opting to see if things improve first, but if they don't, I honestly can't see myself having the same attachment to the site.

You clearly didn't get what I meant with the Spam Zone comment. We initially moved from phpBB to vB and got the spam zone, which we didn't have before. Some liked it, but there were a pretty large chunk of people who hated it at first. And that's what I'm saying, you are just hating on things because they are different right now. Just like the other people who you have seen agree with you. Give it at least a day before you go NOPE.JPG. Wether or not I like you has nothing to do with what I'm saying right now, I am just replying to a silly set of posts.

You're allowed to say that you don't like the change, but what you're essentially saying that we should go back to vB, which had a lot of security breaches. So there is absolutely no reason to suggest that. I've browsed this forum for several hours now, and the more I look the more I realise it's similar to vB. The changes are cosmetic, and if that makes you want to leave, then there's no reason for you to stay.

Besides, you are essentially treating this beta like it's how things are always going to be. Wether or not you acknowledge that it will probably change, you are still doing that. Templates are coming back, as RvR has stated.[DOUBLEPOST=1345130494][/DOUBLEPOST]

But that's wrong. vB was much easier to hack, so it is more secure. That is what a more secure host is, more secure.

 

Fair enough about the spamzone thing. I was not fully aware about all the details of that story. Thanks for explaining that.
You may be right and perhaps my mind will change in a few days. I never said I was going to outright leave. I said I was considering it, but I'd see how things changed over time and make my decision then.
I know the staff are working hard to address things. And I know that things won't always be like this. I appreciate that and I'll also thank you for your replies to my posts. They have been informative.

And I understand about the security breach thing and that there is no reason to go back to vB. I was just expressing that I preferred the way vB was. I did not however say that we SHOULD go back to it. Having a preference, and actually saying we should go back to it are two different things.
As you've stated, the changes are cosmetic (something I'll see for myself in that case) and maybe after some more browsing and taking time to get used to the changes, I will feel better about it.

Also, I just saw the RvR thing, but thanks for bringing that to my attention anyway.

Either way, yeah, I'll just lay low for now and see how things go. It'll just take some time to get used to things.
I just hope that I do come to like this like I did with the vB version.

Don't get me wrong here, I do actually like vB more, as I was much more familiar with it and what not. But what I'm just saying that this is probably the best replacement we could get, and it will probably only get better with time, so just hold judgement for a little while at least.

But yeah, hopefully people will come to like this like vB.
