*10 years in the future*

Narrator (voiced by Morgan Freeman): You've heard stories of burnitup. We all have. This story's different than the others. It's all in promise of beginnings. And the ending.

In the year 2021, the legend of burnitup faded, and there were no... new visitors to KH-Vids. But when a mysterious blood red cloud began to roll across the United States, then East toward the eastern countries, no one knew where it had come from. Only that it brought death in its wake. Attempts to find the source of the toxic cloud failed. The US was cut off. Through the Cloud, lights were seen from the Statue of Liberty. There were stories of ghosts immune to gunfire, who struck down anyone they saw with rays of light. The last chapter of the US came when a modified rockets struck several major cities, releasing a blood-red cloud, killing all living there. All attempts to penetrate the Cloud and re-take the cities failed, and the governments of the world finally turned away from it, citing the land as cursed. In the years that followed, communities across the globe began to die as traces of the Cloud began to drift over the lands.

Still grappling with self-doubt over his usefulness in the face of the red cloud, Te Deum was never able to find peace with himself. Eventually, he left for Japan and assumed a new name, as he waited for the end.

Though finalform32 had not hoped for this outcome, he was proud of his role in the defense of burnitup. Unfortunately, when word spread that finalform32 was somewhat responsivle for this, he was forced out of his home country. Pursued by bounty hunters, several armies, and the Mafia, finalform was pushed deep into the eastern countries and was never heard from again.

Midnight Star's life finally came to a close in the one of the major cities the rockets hit. As the life faded from her, her last thoughts were of her children.

He had survived police service in Colorado, a war, combat duty with the Marines, and being a member of KH-Vids. But, in the end, Feenie finally succumbed to the horrors of the Cloud.

Tired of waiting for the world to be done with her, Ienzo ventured into the Cloud to make her own way out. Side arm in hand, she journeyed back to West in search of the one who had was responsible for this. There, with only two bullets loaded, Ienzo did the only thing she believed would put an end to her suffering.

rikusorakairiown, entertainer, singer... thief... had his last show on a Las Vegas stage. A heist he spent over two years planning fell apart. Not long after the Cloud destroyed Vegas, the lights in the city shut off, one by one. Only risk's Hologram remained on stage, singing silently to an empty room. Still... as consumed as he had been with its riches and ruin, the Vegas stage has held him captive long ago.

When tale_wind fell in an Native American casino, two died as one. Tale_wind died hungry, alone, frightened. But a voice in his head died with him. Screaming. Furious. Enraged. But the voice was gone, and tale_wind was grateful. At least tale_wind was dead and the voice needed to watch over him no more.

Machazo, scarred by his hunt for burnitup and unable to let him go, perished in wastes of a dead city. He never completed his mission, nor did he stop to consider what had driven him to accept the mission in the first place. Obsession is another form of greed, a lesson that Machazo never learned.

When news reached his hometown that the toxic Cloud was approaching, Makaze did his best to help people in a hospital escape with adequate supplies. However Makaze's group had accidently ran into the direction of the Cloud. There were no survivors.

You've heard of the burnitup. We all have, the legend, the curses. Some foolishness about him lying in wait in the middle of a City of Dead. A city of ghosts. Buried beneath a blood-red cloud... a bright, shining monument luring glory seekers to their doom, waiting for his new world to begin again. An illusion that he can begin life again, change your fortunes. Finding him, though, that's not the hard part. It's letting go.

 

Oh wow...I wonder...what would happen if that story came true...

I don't understand how I survive many horrible things...but then get killed by a piece of fluff.

 

Fluff can be very dangerous I suppose. Children under the age of 3 can choke on it, and so can children over that age for that matter. O.o
