    I read it. I was looking for an example. In which game does the dialogue box ever say both names when the character is speaking?

    Here's a good example: In PSU, last names for the NPCs (excluding Ethan, in this particular case, since he's the one you controlled and was therefore not an NPC) here are also used:

    However, in PSP2, only first names are used:

    The NPC Emilia's full name is Emilia Percival
