Chain of Memories Larxene

Yeah... but when I was 15 I had crushes on every cut girl in her 20's... so should Sora be any different? Plus I don't think its likely he would like her after she dragon kicked him. It doesn't mean I like her any less.

I would say Larxene is about 18-20, Axel 20-22, Demyx 18-19.

 

Larxene is THE female character of choice for me. She's a woman to be admired. I loved her face, I loved her powers, I loved her role and I most definitely loved her attitude. She reminds me of some one... hehe ;P
Well I'd always had a liking for her even before I played CoM... I sort of found out about her while I was playing KH2 (sad, I'm always a little slow on catching up on news, took me forever to learn about CoM in the fist place. O.o). I was intrigued by her, she after all was the ONLY female member in the Organization. True she can be a little b!tchy sometimes, but who isn't?
My admiration for Larxene cannot be explained... Even I donno why I like her so much. Her character was not developed too well in the game, but the tiny amount of depth provided in the manga definitely boosted my liking for her.
She is cold and heartless, and she has her reasons. Her fighting skills are awesome as well. The kick she'd given to sora made me crack up like hell, ditto for the slap on Namine. Overall, she's just a plain sexy woman! And being the only woman in KH who actually fights, well made me very happy. If one was to look into her character, they'd see that she hides behind her words and reveals only what she wants you to see. And I also lover her remarks, her sarcasms and insults... They are just cute and funny! I just love her. She's just the best damn female character in KH....

 

It was definitely her personality that turned him off xD, which is weird, considering her attitude is what turns on the fanboys (*cough*dominatrix*cough*). Besides, Sora doesn't seem the type of boy who will look at any older female in a attractive and romantic light, except for those his own age. He's too dense and innocent/pure that way.

 

That's true. If he was REALLY into older women, we'd have seen him go after Aerith, Tifa, Yuffie, Mulan, Ariel, etc. Of course, all of them already have mates already, so it would've been a lost cause. :xp:

As for me, I'm not really into the whole dominatrix bit. :huh: I just respect her for her abilities.

 

Wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy off topic but... Sora did fall head over heals for a lot of girls... He is type that would see a beautiful girl and would just stare with his jaw hangning open.

Ok back to subject: I think Sora would have hated her no mater what once he found out Larxene was a nobody... (dont make me do it DF)

I used to really hate Larxene mostly because she was so cruel to Vexen and Repliku...but now I love her because she's such a mean. She's a complete turn around from the other Kingdom Hearts girls who're normally so sweet and cute. XD Makes you wonder what she was like WITH a heart.

 

I think her other was Ivy Valintine... seriously... they have a lot in common! Only Ivy is not as cutesy or anime'd out.

Ok... I'm just kidding... recently someone reminded me of how much I liked Ivy... so I got Ivy on the mind...

 

I think a lot of people hate Larxene because they don't know how to deal with a 'female' sadist. Also, if they like her they will just mostly be having crush things on her.

I thought she was nasty and knew how to be, using it to her full potential. I don't really have a problem with that. She also seemed smart and educated, but playful. I do ponder if she liked someone if she'd show a 'softer' side of not wanting to tie them up and torment the people, but eh, I didn't really care. So she's into the Marquis de Sade books? She was, to me, kind of the physical sadist while Saix was the mental one. I thought she was cool. And yeah, I agree with ICSP when he said she's like a female Axel. I just think the difference is Axel did what he did out of necessity mostly and wasn't so into sadism as Larxene was. Otherwise, probably the two could have gotten along really well.

 

Well... killing Vexen was a command, but he didn't have to smile the whole time... and Zexion was totally unnesisary...

Larxene is not THAT sadistic. Its funny that she is so playful and laughing while she drop kicked Sora though...

I would say Namine is more sadistic than Larxene...

Namine wasn't sadistic at all. She was doing what she did to get attention and to stop being lonely. She didn't want to really hurt anyone.

When she hurt Repliku it's because to her he was a 'fake' and she didn't really care at all about him but she had a link to Sora so of course she cared about that. She was cold and selfish but not sadistic. She wasn't really happy Repliku suffered. I don't really like the fact Namine was so cold to Repliku who had his mind screwed over by her royally and she didn't even have the decency to apologize to him. His actions were based on things not even belonging to him that he never did. She shouldn't have been so rotten in that regard, but she wasn't celebrating over the fact either. In the end, she just didn't care for anyone but Sora in CoM.

As for Larxene, she was very much a physical sadist, but in truth there are far worse than she was in reality. She liked insults and tormenting and watching what others would do with pain. To a sadist there is a fine line between pleasure and pain. To a Nobody who is a sadist like Larxene or Saix...or perhaps to each one of them to some degree, the empathy they get out of hurting others probably gives them the closest thing to feelings they might have. Axel really is the only one who explored 'feelings' from others in a different light (of making someone feel good instead of bad) because he had a friendship with Roxas and Roxas seemed to actually have reactions that may indicate he had more of a Heart than the others did.

As for Axel smirking and all, after he killed Vexen he didn't seem that happy. To get into the 'spirit' of the job and do a deed, you'll gear yourself up for a nasty task. This isn't to say that Axel didn't have his nasty streak too. Of course he did. I just think he used it more for when he felt he needed to and otherwise it was shut off. With Larxene it was on often, probably in part because she was lowest on the totem poll and was sick of being looked down at. If she hadn't of sided with Marluxia, or well not been with certain Org members, perhaps she would have turned out to be better. All of the Org had to be strong and sneaky to some degree. I definitely don't think she's the worst out of the Org members.

Don't think on that too much. It was mainly a manga joke (which I don't take that much canon anyway), considering she was a sadist, and the book was titled after the person who was the namesake of sadism. I don't really think you'll find her reading that xD.

But for perhaps I think, the first time, I actually agree on you on the rest. That's why I thought she would be perfect to explore and be made into a complex character, to add more depth to a sadism case, and see the reason why she's the way she is. To dig in into her mind, and see what goes in there, because at times, she appeared happy, glad, sad, disappointed, laughed and joked around. She definitely caught my interest in that way, and I did see the potential, but she got scrapped at the end of CoM.

Yeah, the Marquis de Sade book was only found in the manga. Though in a way I saw all of the Nobodies as being smart in their ways and researching into a lot and it wouldn't surprise me if she did explore that too.

I do agree with you that she probably had reasons for how she is and we will never know. People don't just turn out like that with no reason at all. It is a shame that a lot of the members of the Org, we won't understand them deeper and she's one I think gets more of the shaft since she was just seen by many as being under Marluxia's influence. I guess for now we'll just have to guess on the rest about her and even though she didn't get much information revealed, she didn't seem to be just a 2d character to me.

 

Dude, I don't want to fight any more than you do. But I'm just going to say this:

When Chain of Memories came out, nobody knew what a Nobody was until KH2 came out. They never mentioned it directly throughout the entire game. Conclusion: Sora wouldn't have hated her for being a Nobody. He'd have hated her for toying around with him as if his life were an entire game to her.

Repliku? Oh a challenge is it? I'll let you argue against yourself...

So you admit that all the problems in CoM were her fault. So all the suffering of it was her fault. Namine even screwed up Repliku. Repliku was quite content being a clone, then she went and jacked up his head, and even crushed his heart and never apoligized to him.

Also, How could Larxene be a sadist if she has no emotions? She simply used a personality which she thought would be most effective, and would cause the least confusion for Sora... which failed horibly since Sora understands nothing.

The first time she wanted to lead him deeper into the castle, so she said "I'm a bad guy!" and thats the only first we see her as sadistic. Throughout the rest of the game, she is insulting, but extraordinarily playful about it. That is most likely closer to her true personality.

The second encounter she could not break character about being a "bad guy" so she was sadistic again.So she teased him slightly, saying "I dont know if I should tell you" but Sora attacked her first, so she kicked him again... which anyone would have if a kid was charging you with a blade.

But she did not want Sora to continue any further (jacking up his head more), so she actually explained the entire plotline of everything. Namine's true role, as well as Marluxia's master plan, what Repliku is everything. Even Axel's role in the situation.

Larxene doesn not show any form of active aggresion until Sora said he could never break his promise. Meaning, he would defend Namine to his death.

Larxene was put in a bad situation there, after the hilarious smack down to Namine. So Sora basically said, "Imma gonna killz you!"

At this point Larxene even said "What? Are you stupid? Oh well your funeral." She moves forward to fight, then Goofy and Donald save the day. Although she was acting for self preservation in order to defend herself from an over ambitios keyblader who kills everthing that moves and just indirectly gave her a death theat... yeah, I would attack too at this point.

I kinda like debates... not fights, debates. Namine did more toying that Larxene did... Larxene at one point in the game tried to explain everything for Sora's benefit, but he was so dense he refused to listen, that's not Larxene's fault. Sora still loves Namine though...

I hate her...but I think thats more from a bad memory during a boss fight (I sleighted so many cards I only had 3 left...then she kicked my ass)

Shes faster than sephiroth...If she was as powerful, she'd be a female chuck norris...

thank god she didnt control any nobodies...probably wasnt powerful enough...

Though, why hate on the fact that she is strong?

 

I was quite sad see Larxene in such a depth-less state. I'd actually ecpected to see more of her through out the game.. but the moments never came. With what was provied in the games and manga, most just hate her for what they saw at first glance while others, who took an interest to her, made ovservasions and inferred on her personality and character. You'd really have to study her to find what and how she really is. I do hope that SE has built more on her character (as well as the other characters who were left out, but deserves to be a 3d charcter) in 358/2 days.
I anticipate that game in hope that the characters will 3d.... especially Larxene.
