On tests and stuff I cannot believe that that is passable....but when i write notes and "The Thirty Years War" is said at least 10 times I abbreviate it to "30YW" which works fine...so yeah, as long as you know what you're doing when it counts I say it's fine.

But most of my teachers aren't strict so if I wrote "LOL ODYSSEUS GOT PWN3D!" on an "The Odyssey" test I don't think she would really care. She might write on my corrected test "try not to do that anymore"

I used to abbreviate all the time in my notetaking in High School. I still do sometimes in college.

But to use such shorthand on an exam? The teachers I dealt with wouldn't put up with it.

Hm...I guess if its not that important, like a short quiz, but other wise, I wouldn't write like that, in text yeah ((cause gods kow I am too lazy to type out my text to friends)), but not in school >.> even on forums and such I try to refrain form it unless I feel lazy haha. Anyways, if its notes and stuff like Saix said, then thats fine because its your own notes and probably how you understand it ((I do that all the time)) but not of something you are going to turn in >.>
