Did you watch the video? Algae soup is used to provide energy for growth.

He said that was possible, but to me it seems like it'll probably end up being the other way to keep it efficient.

So you say no because you believe they are going to deviate from their plan in a way you don't like? And I fail to see how importing it is more effecient than making it on site.

And really, is it that hard to do a bit of research to see what producers are doing it the correct way? Consumerist society, vote with your dollar.

Again, how is it any different from putting a brain dead human body on life support?

Except it says in the video that using algae soup ISN'T the plan, it's a POSSIBILITY that could make the meat more healthy. Now, knowing food companies and the disgusting shіt they do to food to make it cheap, which do you think is more likely?

This is a stupid analogy because you do NOT EAT humans. It's been proven that the healthiest beef comes from cows that are fed grass and roam freely. The most unhealthy meat comes from the ones that are in a confined space and sit around all day, and eat processed feed. This lab meat seems to me like it's going to emulate the latter.

The point is that they're both artificial means of keeping something alive. Sure we don't eat humans, but what about what I mentioned above? It's not out of the question for humans to sell stem cells from their muscles to be used in these meat farms.

And whether or not the sugars and nutrients are artificial rather than natural, it's still being absorbed and processed into ATP by the cell. It's different from the crowding of cows and feeding it processed feed because it's only getting the nutrients it needs to make that ATP to stay alive.

If i'm going to eat something, I don't want it kept alive artificially.
You're missing the point. I still don't want artificial crap in my meat.

Nothing about your arguments reveal to me that you even watched the entire video. They would use electric shocks to make the muscle move and have it exercise. It's not just a lazy piece of disembodied flesh. The point of giving the muscle energy is so that it would be as if from a free-run cow or pig that was able to move around a pasture.

Oh wow, I guess I missed that. But still, the only way I could be okay with this is if they ACTUALLY used algae soup, which I kind of doubt.

If you watched the whole video, you'd have seen a basic plan for the farm which included, among other things, a room for the algae soup.

Okay stop it with this crap about me not watching the video. I did watch it, and he said the algae soup thing was a possibility
