Sure, sure, but what the hell does it do? For all we know, it's a very latent poison!

Yeah, really? It's kinda...a weird thing to know...

On another note, it's pretty interesting that they found something like it.

Seriously though. I already knew this kind of stuff since I'm studying something related to this topic in school.

yeah, i read that theyre calling it jadardite cos it doesnt actually have anything to do with the real element Krypton. Also, they knew the chemical properties because the scientist working on it did the 'substance' googled it (of all things) and found one of the comics and lex luther had a box with kryptonite with its chemical properties on the side of it, that were the same as what he had just worked out.
but the jadardite doesnt have flourine in it, so TECHNICALLY its not kryptonite, but you can call it whatever you want!:)
if you want the exact chemical composition its :
sodium lithium boron silicate hydroxide, wuite a mouthfull. tho it doesnt glow green it floureces pinky-orange under UV light

It's in the comics. Jerry Siegel just made the formula up, but it ended up being a real compound in the future. That's what makes it so amazing.

Well no, he's not, but the chances of naming the compound is one big coincidence.
