And yes, I am in fact watching the movie. The English dub at that. Terrible jokes, early-2000's soundtrack, and all.

Also, I did own just about every Digimon game that came out on the PS1 (for the US anyway):

-Digimon: Digital Card Battle
-Digimon Rumble Arena

Still have Digimon World 1 and Digital Card Battle.

Also, that movie is great.

 

If you're able to watch the original Japanese dub, you'll get to avoid the uber-cheesy dialogue and see a lot of important scenes that were skipped.

But that's only if Jap dubs are your thing. Both versions are good, but there's something special with the English version cause of having watched the anime series and being exposed to stuff like Bare Naked Ladies (jokes ahoy)

 

Actually, literally EVERYTHING with Willis was changed in the English version.

 

So I just got to the part in the movie where Infermon's calling all the phone numbers in the world and whatnot, and Tai & Izzy are discussing how they need the PHONE CONNECTION FOR THE INTERNET I REMEMBER THIS AND WOW I FEEL OLD

As much as I love the dub for the show, I saw the movie subbed first, so the movie dub makes me want to shoot myself.

 

Is it bad I knew exactly what you were talking about just by reading the popup description of the thread?

 

As much as I loved the movie when I was a kid, it made excellent fodder for the NC. XD

Yeah, but he dislikes everything.

 

It's for comedic effect. And Jesu (who I've been a fan of for a long time) actually did the majority of the writing for this particular episode.

And I would say watch Summer Wars. Same director as Our War Game, same concept as Our War Game, but a completely different (and more interesting IMO) story.

 

Most, if not all, of his complaints are solely about the English dub, which took so much content out, making the third movie just got pretty much ruined except some of the fights.

 

STOP! I am getting drowned in my own nostalgia!

Man I miss this show.
