Kingdom Hearts: Twilight's Darkness

Faya ran in, closing the doors behind her. Her heart pounded with fear, and skin soaked in sweat. But now was not the time to look scared, she had the chance to see the King of Haven, and tell him (or show) the pain she had experienced. "M-Martel..." She shivered, an odd feeling creeping up on her spine. "Do you think King Neo could fix my arms?"

 

Cat was shocked... it was like she couldn't speak, but they had to talk or they might wind up dead...
"Mr Novella... would you please teach me how to speak to my Keyblade?"
She was afraid that if Ash remembered Adrien, a fight would ensue, so she skipped the introductions and just went straight to the point. She was hoping that he would just say yes and end the stress, but she had a feeling that it wouldn't be that simple...

 

Just then, a boy, teenager from the looks of it, would enter the building holding a keyblade.
I'm telling you, it's not worth coming here. The keyblade telepathically said to it's wielder. The boy gritted his teeth, sending back his own message. Well, whatever! Who'd stare at some 13 year old in a bar, anyway?
The keyblade would say nothing more, as the boy looked around the building, before noticing a few people surrounding one man. Wonder what's up... He wondered. Before he could do anything, his keyblade spoke once more, saying to him I thought you were here looking for-- Shaddup! I am, I am... The boy interrupted his blade friend, before going off to a corner, wiping some dust and taking some looks.

 

Ash frowned at the girl's sudden request, "I asked you a question. And please, don't call me 'Mr. Novella'. Gives me the creeps... If you must stick to formalities call me Captain Novella. Obviously you know my entire name....I'll ask again...who. Are. You?"

Adrien shivered, his wave of confidence and power in the forest earlier had fled him. "I....I'm....Adrien.... and my friend, Cat." he didn't see a flash of anger in the Captain's eyes nor even the slightest recognition. "W...we live here...in Haven." he lied. Figuring Ash would help them if they were citizens of the same city.

Martel caught her breath and pressed a hand to her chest, "I don't know Faya...I'm sure the Goddess Appolimi could...but as always gifts from the God and Goddesses of Haven come with a price to pay." She straightened and led Faya through the black marbled castle. Trinkets of gold and silver adorned the walls and a few mounted heads and bodies of Heartless and Nobodies the King or Ash might have fought. "We should follow the carpet and it would take us to the Throne Room..." she glanced down and noticed the red carpet was stained with spots of dark red....blood.

 

Faya avoided the flecks of blood on the carpet, unsure if it was still wet. She was starting to breathe heavily, wondering whose blood it was, why there was blood... She bit her lip, trying to keep together and move those thoughts away as far as possible.

 

"Y-yes. Of course Captain Novella..."
Cat knew that Adrian was lying for their safety and wellbeing so she played along even though she felt like a nervous wreck. She had never met someone with so much power in the dark city. Hopefully he'd just say yes and move on, because she couldn't take much more stress...

 

Ash closed his eyes for a moment and slumped down in his chair. "Hmm....You say you don't know how to speak to your Keyblade...? Interesting indeed....I'd like to talk to King Neo about this.... I've never seen...well maybe a few times....those who cannot communicate with their blades... I've trained a few of them....they said they were exempt from Apollimi's gift." he rubbed his forehead and absently ordered mead for the girl he was with.

Adrien held perfectly still. His image of Ash ruined by the man before him. Black hair, such white skin....and perfectly golden eyes. His eyes fastened on his Keyblade that had appeared out of nowhere and now rested on his lap. The keychain was a curious ball of spikes...but the Keyblade itself was spiked..."C-Captain Novella...your Keyblade....wh-what's it's name?" Nightmare would've scolded him if he hadn't learned the name of the Captain of Haven's army's Keyblade's name.

Martel kept her head held high and her shoulders back as she followed the carpet. A door was a few steps ahead of them....before Martel could touch it, it swung open and two guards carrying a beaten up man tromped past them. An almost kind male voice called after them, "I want those idiots eliminated! Out of my army and out of my City! I will not tolerate this sort of behavior! That woman was a gift to Haven by Apollimi herself!" even outraged, the voice sounded like that of a boy's.

 

Cat just nodded without saying a word. Things were going smoothly so far and she didn't wanna risk blowing it. She wondered why Adrien would ask the name of Ash's keyblade but she paid it no mind. She just hoped that she wouldn't have to meet Neo face to face. If the king of Haven exposed her... she was dead.

 

Faya watched the man be dragged away, holding onto Martel's arm tightly with her invisible ones. No matter how kind this voice was, she wouldn't ease up around the King of Haven. "This man is good, yeah? So... why is there blood on the carpet?"

 

Lynn jerked her head away from the man's hand when he tried to touch her but since then she had remained still, silently listening to the conversation going on. After a moment she then slid out of the booth and got to her feet. "I'll wait outside." She mumbled before heading to the door, finding that he smoke was too much of a bother to stay there while the people simply spoke of things.

 

Ash reached for Lynn but she was gone before he could grab her. "Lynn...dammit...we'll have to make this quick. Her name is Sharpflash and unfortunately...I cannot help you right now." Ash hurried out of the bar after Lynn.

Adrien panicked, "N-no! C-Captain!!" He sighed and slumped into Ash's seat, "What now...?"

Martel nodded nervously, "I'm sure that blood isn't by Neo's doing..." she pulled Faya into the throne room. Neo sat on a rather large....and frightening black velvet chair that was larger than him with severe metal designs covering the back and arms. His gray eyes locked onto Martel and Faya immeditately, "Martel? What are you doing here?" Martel gently sat down on her knees and bowed to Neo, "King Neo of Haven...I've come bearing ill news of Lumini and I request you put into action what I ask."

 

Faya sneered, she wouldn't bow, instead stand beside Martel and try not to strangle Neo. She resisted the urge to spit in his direction, and curse him in every other-world language she knew and hope that he would be punished to allow testing to happen to those as innocent as her.

 

"Well..."
Cat looked as Ash got further away, looked at Adrien, and then ran after Ash without thinking about any of the consequences. She needed an answer from him and she wasn't about to let him go now...

 

The boy's attention drifted from searching to watching as the man hurried to the girl that left. "Hm..." He then heard another man that seemed worried, who was with a boy and girl. He looked around. Don't tell me... His keyblade spoke to him. Hey, call it payback for the time you dragged me in that drug fight. He fought back, smirking. I did not! The keyblade would say, ignored. The teen sighed. He started walking towards the group, only to stop as the girl suddenly ran out. He then looked at the two men at the table. Uhh...I think I should change my mind. The boy said to his keyblade. Ya think? Was the only response he got as he went over to another dusty corner.

 

Martel swallowed hard and Neo flicked his eyes to Faya. "Your friend seems tense...is everything alright Martel?" Martel pushed back her hood and stood, "Neo...the entrances to the Dark Forest have been blocked by your Haven army...and Xenree. Recently I have seen her carrying at least this years harvest of the Moon Fruit. We, of Lumini need that fruit to cure our sick and wounded. A dear friend of mine needs that fruit for his family." Neo straightened in his chair and scratched his head, "Hmmm....I don't remember telling Xenree she could go to the Dark Forest.... Let alone take the Moon Fruit...but what Xenree does she knows is for the best of Haven's future. I cannot help you Martel. Whatever she's taken them for, we obviously need them." Martel clenched her hands and her glared at him.

Adrien sighed as he watched Cat run after Ash. "All alone again, eh Nightmare?" he said calmly to his Keyblade. Nightmare didn't answer and he touched his head to the table.

Ash searched for Lynn. Obviously he was too late to find her. "Dammit..." Ash's arm started to ache and he rested against a Twili-light pole. "This is getting out of hand."

Faya growled at Neo. "But what about those sick who're sick and need the fruit!?" she stepped forward with fire in her eyes. "Or are you going to allow someone to die or suffer because of your people?" The air where her karma arms moved rippled with her anger, fueling her power. But rage does not necessarily mean she would win in a fight with the King of Haven.

 

Once Cat saw Ash stop she thought about her next move. She ended up deciding that she would offer to split up and look for the girl. Maybe that way he would teach her out of gratitude.
"Uh... Captain Novella. Do you wanna split up and look for that girl? I figure since I came, I should be able to help out..."
Hopefully this would work...

 

Ash turned and frowned at her. "Uh..Cat right? Listen...I don't need help tracking down a girl with no memories. Lynn is my responsibility." His frown turned into something menacing, "And any Haven dwelling citizen would not ask to help the Captain of the Haven military... Who are you really." Sharpflash formed in his hand and he twirled it subconsiously, "If you tell me now I might not kill you."

Neo frowned at Freya, "I have given you your answer. There is nothing more to say. I have yet to meet with Xenree and listen to her side. Martel...if you would like to stay in the castle for when I call upon you again I would offer you two only the best suites here." Martel shook her head, "Neo you cannot do this! She must be stopped! That fruit is needed for the survival of Lumini! Please!" Waving his hand, Neo brushed off Martel's plea's.

 

"People are going to die unless you allow us the fruit!" Faya yelled again, stepping forward more. "Are you really going allow another innocent person to be murdered by you and your people? I lost my ARMS because of your scientists! I'm not letting others suffer the same."
