Kingdom Hearts: Twilight's Darkness

Ash scoffed and continued up the series of stairs. Several dark stain glass windows reflected back only the images embedded in them. Images of the same beautiful woman and fierce looking man seen downstairs. Neo grinned and followed her, "You see each and every part of my castle is taken good care of. Each day, the floors are washed and waxed before I wake and breakfast, brunch, lunch, tea, and dinner are prepared during the day. And finally everything is dusted and those that require it are given a fine polish. We run a tight shift around here." he spoke with pride about his castle and Ash made snide comments under his breath. "If only everyone could sleep ten hours a day like you, then we'd all be as happy as you, My King." He stopped the comments as they reached a solid black marble door with gold leaf along the tiny designs inside it. Ash breathed deeply before pushing the door open. It looked heavy and seemed to take a lot of his energy. "Damn door...c'mon!" Shoving the door open, he leaned against it, panting and Neo gladly led Lynn into the thickly insensed room filled with candles and twelve women wearing layers of tafeta and silk.

Adrien squeaked before Nightmare's voice projected to Cat's mind too. Him, teach you anything about talking to your Keyblade? Pfft, you're better off asking a monkey to spell your name girly. The only one who can teach you something like that would be Neo, Ash, Martel or one of King Neo's parents, the Goddess of Peace and God of Destruction. You're better off finding Ash than any of them." Adrien looked pained at what his Keyblade said. "Well, you heard her. Nightmare is the boss in this odd little relationship."

Martel smiled, "Thank you." Looking at Faya from under her hood she chuckled gently, "Do I? Well now, I wonder who I could be? Hmm..." She toyed with Faya gently. Martel never let her mossy green eyes stare overly long at Faya's arms. She was curious but not so much that it touched rude.

 

Cat was shocked when she heard Nightmare speak... she froze for a second before realizing what Adrien had said.
She laughed weakly and smiled.
"Well, looks like someone needs to tone it down a bit... not that it's an insult but you're getting a bit wound up over a simple question..."
She looked back at Adrien. She had almost totally forgotten about her reason for coming here. She decided that once she could speak to No Name, she would come back to fight 'Max'.
"Well then, Adrien... can you take me to Ash? I don't mind coming back later, right now learning more about this is my top priority."
She thought more about how Nightmare spoke.
Heh... I just hope every Keyblade has a different personality. Well anyway... I swear I felt a jolt in my arm when Nightmare talked to me like that...
She looked back at No Name.
No Name... were you... are you... trying to defend me...?

 

Faya stared at Martel's eyes, her dark one hidden by a bit of hair. "You sound like someone the people here gossip about..." she mumbled, the hood of the great leader of Lumini was grabbed, as if by an invisible hand, and pulled it off.
"Faya, behave. Stop being rude. Go check on the dinner." Juno's kind voice turned a bit firm and harsh, with a glare to match. Faya immeadietly shut up and did as told.

 

Adrien paled and forced a smile, "T-take you to Ash...? Ash lives in Haven.... I'm not sure I can cross the border without Ash taking off my head. He's...dangerous miss." Adrien didn't know how else to put it, Nightmare would've said he was a nut job but that might've been over the top just a little.

Martel barely flinched. Her purple hair and gentle face bared to everyone. She smiled and patted her hair, "Well now, that was unexpected. I suppose the cat's out of the bag isn't it? I'm not very good at hiding who I am." Martel met Juno's eyes with her own mossy green and softend her smile, "It's nice to meet you all. I'm Martel Yggdrassiel, leader of Lumini and so called Queen of Light."

 

Lynn looked around the room and then to the women who were within it. They seemed nicely dressed and just as taken care of as the castle. Perhaps living here would of been very nice...

But, I cannot. That person might need me...

"So... You said you sensed a commotion. But everything seems to be fine here..."

 

"But now you are Martel the Traveler. We are Karma Gypsies, and have recently traveled to this world to find profit." Juno glanced at Faya who quietly seemed to be punishing herself by being mute.
Little Faya stared at the ground, keeping her lips locked shut. It was a practice she was forced to learn in Haven.

 

"Oh... sorry for asking. Maybe, we could go see Martel instead?"
Cat smiled. She didn't know what else she could say... maybe she had finally found a reason to pick a side... to fight for something bigger than herself.

 

Ash glanced around, she was right. Looking back at Neo he noticed his King was holding his head and now leaning against the wall. "Everything alright, my King? Neo?" Neo opened one red eye and gently smiled, "I'm quite alright. The commotion isn't exactly something you all can feel. My parents are fighting again." his eyes flashed open and he stepped in front of Lynn, a bolt of lightning struck at some invisible shield in front of Neo. "They don't like visitors when they're angry at each other. Mother, Father, would you please....CUT THAT OUT! You have guests!" he growled and the beautiful raven haired woman and the white haired man from the stain glass windows and statues shimmered into view before them. The women praying blushed at the sight of the white haired man without his shirt.

Apollimi growled, "Typical...they'll always fawn over you just like you want them to. You know you don't have to flaunt your physical appearance." the raven haired woman's golden eyes flashed and the man smirked, touching one of the women's cheeks, "Oh, but I think that I do. You see, my dear, this is how a real woman should act around her husband." His bright golden cat-like eyes narrowed as they focused on Neo, Ash and Lynn. "Neo, my son, you've brought me another madien for my chambers?" Neo scowled, "No Father... This is Lynn, she needs help recovering her memory." Ash leaned closer to Lynn and whispered in her ear, "You see the woman is Apollimi, Goddess of Peace and the white haired man is Enoch, God of Destruction. Neo is their son, but he has both of their powers combined, perhaps a little less strong."

Adrien shook his head, "No no, you wanted to see Ash, I'll....I'll tak you to see him." Adrien sounded almost afraid to leave, but his mind spun with the idea of leaving and seeing Haven with his own eyes.

Martel nodded, "A name I am familiar with. My brother and I fled Haven a few well decades ago and since then my dearest brother has passed on. I am on my way to Haven to seek the Twilight King's aid in removing some of his warriors from the forest for a family in Lumini. I've...it's been so long since I've gone into the forest I feared going alone and getting lost...or worse."

 

"Can I speak with him too?"Faya quietly pipped up. She had a look of hate and horror in her eyes.
Juno looked worried. "Dear, I don't think that's wise."

 

Cat looked at Adrien. She thought it would just be easier to go see the Queen of Lumini but he insisted on helping her so she wasn't going to turn down such a generous, though possibly suicidal, offer.
"Thanks. Listen, I know things can be hard on you sometimes but you just have to believe in your own stength and you'll be able to get through it... besides, we're kinda like friends now... right? I'll watch your back but I can only hope that, in return, you'll watch mine."
She smiled at him and began to walk toward Haven, not wanting to waste time in her newest journey.

 

Lynn slightly jumped at the lighting bolt and then the sudden appearance of the two people before them. No, not people. Gods. She could just feel their powers... What mighty beings. They left her in awe and she almost missed what Ash said.

His parents...?

She merely nodded in reply to Ash's words before looking back to the two Gods, taking in their features before speaking herself.

"Yes, it's true... I cannot remember a thing that has happened before yesterday."

Her voice showed that she was unsure of her words and of herself. Did she have any right to address them like so? With that thought she swallowed down her pleads for them to help her out and waited for either them or Neo to speak again.

 

Ash and Neo froze, their eyes closed, waiting. Enoch's loud voice boomed through the room, frightening the women, "You do not speak unless spoken to, mortal!" Apollimi scowled at him, "Ignore him deary. He's just grumpy cause he's not getting--" Neo lifted his hand and stopped Apollimi's words, "Please mother, she doesn't need to know that. Hell, I don't need to know that." Apollimi gave him a hurt look, "What? He's not getting any new Singers, dear. Please, Neo, you think after all these centuries that I'd still risk giving anything to this man?" Neo shook his head, "Anyway....this is Lynn, like she said, she doesn't remember anything." Enoch stared at Lynn for a long time. His cat-like eyes boring into her, "Fine....approach, mortal." Ash shrugged and Neo took her hand, "He's not as frightening as he seems." and led her toward Enoch.

Adrien nervously smiled and followed her, "Uh, sure. You watch my back, I'll watch yours." Nightmare mocked him by repeating what he'd said in a more....nasal voice. "So, um, miss....what's your name? Oh, and are we taking the Twilight Road or...the Forest path?"

Martel gazed at Faya, her eyes serious, "If that is what you truely desire. I'm meeting with him myself. Neo is, lets say...more of a people person. I just hope we don't meet his parents while we're there." Martel sighed, "Faya...why do you want to talk to the Twilight King anyways?"

 

Lynn flinched at the response she had gotten, instantly regretting having even opened her mouth. She was only slightly reassured by his wife's words.

She then noticed that Neo had taken her hand and was leading her forward. Only then did she realize that she was told to do so, and thus followed Neo's lead. She wished to say something as to not seem so awkward, but she was afraid to speak now.

 

"His men did something to Faya that she finds unforgivable." Juno explained. "It was from his men."
Faya growled lowly in her throat. Neo, so that was the man they talked about...

 

"My name is Cat, and we're going to use the road that I always do. It's faster and as long as you don't carry your Keyblade on hand, the Heartless and Nobodies stay away... for the most part. The only trouble is that they still watch you. If you freak out or show any sign of fear or hate, Keyblade or not, they'll come after you without any hesitation. I guess from the sheer amount of darkness and the hesitation in your voice that would be the Forest Path. It should only take us a few hours to get to Haven... that is, if we don't run into too many enemies."
She looked back at Adrien and saw that he was still nervous, even knowing that she had experience in going through the path.
"Look, you can't always be so... how do I put this... vulnerable. I mean, if your own Keyblade can't respect you, then how will anyone else? You don't have to have a heart of stone but show some backbone! If you're so afraid of Ash, then I can go myself. Nobody else needs to walk into harm's way for me... after all, i've never met anybody that would before..."
She looked down to avoid seeing the look on his face.
"It's always been just me... ever since I can remember i've been alone, fighting or searching for someone who might know something about me... and every time I think I might've found someone... they die, in war or because of greedy, filthy lowlives!!!"
She clenched her hands into fists, gripping No Name tighter than ever. She let it fade and walked into the forest, not knowing whether Adrien was following. At this point she could care less. Usually when she told someone her story, they felt sorry for her. Once that happened... they would be so consumed with empathy that they ended up looking out for her... even to the point of suicide just so she could live and find out the truth. She hated being responsible for their deaths but she had always been open to people who would listen... maybe because she never had anyone she could really go to when she was sad... and maybe that's why she so deperately wanted to learn how to speak to No Name.

Bio: No one knows and no one cares. Bird hardly remembers what happened, but ever since then he was not normal. He was not himself.
Other: (other things that you believe are important that are not listed above.) Bird has a beautiful voice, and the ability to talk people into doing stuff for him. But like I said, no one cares about that.

Long live the twilight king!!

Max threw his sword at a tree in frustration, his heart rapidly racing. There was nothing here, nobody to fight, just some boring woods. He walked over to the tree and tried to pull out the sword but it was stuck. He put his foot up against the trunk and pulled harder, this time it came out easily, the edge of the handle hitting him between the eyes. He stumbled backwards, only to bang into somebody. Max turned around quickly, and his eyes opened up wide..the man seemed so familiar. But Max could sense the darkness within him, power practically radiating. He tripped and ran, back to Lumini, back to safety, somewhere where he didn't feel the cool chill up his spine.

 

OOC: Accepted (lol nobody cares about him how sad) It's fine, depending on how long this lasts there ends up being a lot more people. :)

BIC: Neo stopped with Lynn in front of Enoch. His white hair had a sort of constant flicked look to it as it curled slightly upwards and off to the side. Obviously it was too long, but the bright golden cat eyes underneath it made it seem like he kept it that way just to hide his eyes. "If I knew what you did not, would you still want to know it? Are you sure it's vital? Even if it might be something dark and --" A wind rushed through the room and a blue vase broke over Enoch's head. Apollimi's frantic voice trilled, "Stop that! You make it sound like she's done something wrong!" she looked down at Lynn and smiled warmly, her hand caressing Lynn's cheek, "A precious creation....if only you could remember. What is the last thing you remember deary? Perhaps a place or a face or even a name?"

Martel could easily guess what Neo's soldiers had done to Faya. "How awful...I've known Neo a long time...but never have I known him to allow that sort of thing in his City. Are you sure it was Neo who ordered it? Perhaps..." Martel shut her mouth. She didn't know why she was standing up for the man who'd threatened to kill her and her brother when they'd rebelled. Frustration swelled in her chest at the thought.

Adrien listened dismissing Nightmare as he did. She wanted him to gain a little backbone.... Adrien smiled and ran after her, keeping that carefree smile on his face as he walked beside her, "I'm not necessarily afraid of Ash....it's just...." his smile faded and an almost mournful look entered his eyes, "Ash used to be my friend....so did Neo for a while, but things change I guess. People change....Ash was...well, a good person before he met Neo, uh, I mean, King Neo." He smiled a bit again, "You'd never guess it but Ash and I are the same age and Neo....well I'm not sure how old he is since he's been around longer than Martel and she's older than I am." Adrien laughed and looked up at the treetops, what little sunlight peaked through and shone down on the path. Of course, the beginning path of the Dark Forest that led to Lumini was filled with light but on Haven's side it was covered in that same Twilight that covered the city of Haven.

Enoch had her scared yet transfixed, so when the vase broke over his head she jumped yet again. But at Apollimi's touch she felt herself relax as her mind was soothed.

"There is this face... But I cannot see it properly because it is shrouded in light... And there is also this great fear but I don't know what is it from. All I know is that when I was afraid it was a time of great darkness..."

After speaking she looked down, afraid that her words made no sense.
