Kingdom Hearts: Twilight's Darkness

Max finally made it back, he knelt over, hands on knees, out of breath. The man that he lived with grabbed Max by the head and lifted him up. "Hunh..I was hoping to pull your hair up..but anyway, what were you out doing?" the man, by the name of Brax, asked sarcastically. "Just the usual, exploring." Max replied, "Yep. Sure, ok, whatever you say." Brax chuckled and walked away. Max walked throughout the city, and eventually he saw Lady Martel having a conversation with Alice and Adrien, although Max had no idea who either of them were. "-block the entrance to the section of the forest where the only medicinal herb grows for my grandmother's illness" and his eyes grew wide, and he had an idea, Good chance to kick some Haven but and help someone. Good enough for me. He hung back a little bit, stuffing his hands in his pockets, waiting to ask where this was.

 

After finding nothing useful in the tavern Lynn left it in hopes of finding something, anything to do.

Lynn walked down the streets of Haven for a while before she saw anything interesting. At first it seemed to be only another fight but then they said something interesting.

"Uh....A-Ash Novella!? What a surprise! But I'm going to need an apology. Or else you'd like me to put in a word with the King."

I've heard that name before...

In fact, she had heard it just before leaving the tavern for another day's search for answers to her missing memory. This caught her interest. Surely if he knew the king, whatever that was, then he must know many things because people said the this king thing ruled the land. And if she were to ask him... Then just maybe she could find the answers which she sought after. But for now, she would simply stay out of this fight and see what will happen.

 

As Cat slashed through the last Neoshadow she snickered to herself.
"Hmph... why is it that the enemies seem to get weaker everytime I come back here... ."
She let her keyblade disappear as she looked around. She heard faint groaning coming from further down the path. She ran over but remained cautious. She had learned from experience that you couldnt truly trust anyone in this messed up world... not even yourself. As she ran she began to see an injured man, he couldn't have been older than about 18. She knelt down to look at the severity of his injuries. He had been cut up quite a bit but his arm had been tied with a handkerchief where the was a wound from a bullet.
"Hey, what happened...? Who did this to you...?"
"He... he was... from Lumini..."
She couldn't believe what she was seeing or hearing. Someone from Lumini usually didn't go around picking fights, let alone with a gun... The stranger spoke again.
"He... probably went back to Lumini..."
She knew why he told her this... she cast a healing spell and the man got up.
"Thank you. Are you from around here?"
"...I go where I please. I'm not from anywhere."
"Hmmm... That's too bad. Well, i'll be off. I need to tell his majesty about that monstrocity."
The strange man walked away and Cat looked on as she thought about the strange man from Lumini.
.......I'm gonna find that guy, and when i do... i'm gonna show him what happens when you go around hurting innocent bystanders.
And with that thought she walked back towards Lumini...

Ash chuckled lightly as the man's Keyblade didn't move. "Risky...but hey, I'm not one to say no to a fight." Ash pushed the Keyblade pressing to his neck away from him and a tendril of darkness slithered down his arm and formed into a sharp looking Keyblade. "Ready, Sharpflash?" A slightly annoyed voice echoed in his head, As I'll ever be, Master. Number two hundred and.... "Fifty-four." he said proudly and a snort came from his keyblade, echoed in his head. A smile split Ash's face as he hit the man's chest with the heel of his hand, forcing him backwards with a small aero spell combined into the hit. Ash flipped his keyblade in reverse and blocked the predictable downward strike from his opponent. "Hmm, I wonder what the King will be serving for dinner...." he wondered casually.​

Martel sent the children running home and patted Adrien's cheek, "Don't worry Adrien. I'll go with you to speak to the Twilight King himself. He's bound to listen to reason." she laughed and it reminded Adrien of the cheery song of the birds Martel let fly freely around her castle. Shaking his head, Adrien cleared it of the strange thoughts of Martel and combed a hand through his hair, "Lady Martel, that's not necessary. I'm sure the Haven denizens would move.....no, no you're right, they'd probably try to kill me."

 

Lynn looked at the fight in awe. This Ash guy was simply very good. He could probably beat her. Though, she wasn't even sure if she could fight. All she knew was that it was nothing new to her.

Will he...even listen to me?

She wondered while slowly being drawn closer to the two without even realizing what she was doing.

 

Ash pushed his opponent back and shot two flares of pure darkness at him, cutting his face. It was only after he'd done this that he noticed Lynn, "Hey, young lady, I'm afraid you'll be hurt if you come any closer. This guy is obviously unstable. Miss?" He went to her, ignoring the enraged roar from the man he was fighting, "Hiya miss...." Clomping footsteps ran after Ash and the man's Keyblade lifted above Ash's head from behind him.


Martel and Adrien bid farewell and left Alice to guard the city. Martel's senses noticed Max off to the side of her vision. Mossy green eyes turned toward him and she smiled, brushing purple hair over her shoulder, "Hello Max, is there something you wish to ask?" Not many of Lumini had actually seen their Queen, but once in their lives they would. Martel on the other hand, knew who everyone was who stepped foot into the city.
Adrien followed her gaze, feeling disappointment that his Queen had turned away from him to speak to another.

 

I've been walking to Lumini for days now... it should be just up ahead...
As she thought that she approached the entrance of the city. With unwavering determination she called forth the No Name and walked into the city to confront the mysterious attacker.
"He's GOT to be around here somewhere... that guy didn't exactly give me much info to go on though... oh well, better start looking."
She knew the moment she set foot in the city that Martel would know she was there. She had to be careful around the civilians or they would call him out to protect them from the "warrior of Haven". That last thought gave her an idea.
Maybe Maetel can tell me where he is, if he's even here at all... its a better lead than i had before.
With that she ran off to find him, Keyblade in hand, determination in her soul...

 

Lynn jumped at the sight of Ash walking towards her now.

"U-um... Sorry if I am in the way..."

She was staring at the ground but then she dared a peek up at the man before her. She felt very small, in many ways of the word, in comparison to him. Height being one of the obvious ones. She then pointed to the man who Ash was fighting, changing the topic slightly.

"What about him?"

 

Ash's eyes widened slightly, realizing he'd turned his back on an opponent that could still hold his Keyblade. "That's unfortunate..." He was about to turn when a mass of darkness shoved him and Lynn into each other. Neo grabbed the man's Keyblade with his gloved hand. The blade sliced through the glove and cut his hand, though the King barely noticed. He glared blazing red eyes at the man. "You would strike my Captain when his back is turned? How much of a coward are you?" His voice was hard and Ash knew his friendly King's normal gray eyes were the angry red. Something he'd inherited of the power from his father. The man cursed loudly and Neo laughed, his anger dying slightly, "Enoch cannot help you. Nor would he against his son!" Ripping the Keyblade from his grip, Neo turned on his heel and planted his boot firmly into the man's chest, sending him flying backwards into a shop's roof.


Martel rubbed a red pendent around her neck as it pulsed, telling her a warrior from Haven had crossed into Lumini. "Adrien..." Adrien and Alice nodded, "We're on it Lady Martel." They bolted off toward whoever had crossed into their city.

 

As Cat walked through the city she began to see that everyone she walked past was tense... they were scared. Not surprising considering they didn't expect someone "from Haven" to be stupid enough to walk into the city without reinforcements let alone carry their Keyblade with them. She heard footsteps coming after her but she decided to act casual and show that she meant no harm to the city or any of its residents... with one exception...

 

Lynn watched the new arrival in both awe and slight fear. Where had he come from? She then noticed that when Ash was knocked into her she had fallen to the ground.

"W-who is that?"

She asked as she got to her feet, brushing the dirt from her.

 

OOC: Oh gosh, sorry for not replying.

Max had been lost in his own throughts, when suddenly he was startled to see Lady Martel talking to him. He was panic striken, did he need anything? After all, those other people had run off. How did Lady Martel even know his own name? He ran over many thoughts in a split second, trying to figure out what to say. His mind swirled, and all he came out with was, "Erm..no thank you, but if you ever need anything I will be glad to help." he replied in a small voice, I must say, quite smart of you Max. Yes, meet the person pretty much in charge of Lumini, have so many questions, and just turn her down. Good job. he thought to himself, wanting to slap himself in the head for being an idiot.

 

Ash blinked, helping Lynn brush dirt off her dress, "Sorry about that. Uh, oh, miss, this is King Neo. The King of Haven. Not a lot of people have met him in person so it's alright." Neo glared at the man as he picked himself up from the ground, "Now go home. Bother my Captain and whoever he fancies again and I'll remove your head with Kyon myself!" Ash flinched at his King's words, "Don't worry, he's...not as frightening as he seems. Honest." Ash tried his best to keep his voice honest and sincere, praying she'd believe him.

Martel's gentle smile fell a little at Max's words but she brushed it away, "Very well. Hmm, while Alice and Adrien are gone I should go have a word with Haven's warriors blocking the forest." Martel cheerfully walked away. She didn't look like she could fight very well. With her green velvet dress and dainty, delicate fingers, she lacked the appearance of a warrior and more so of a delicate china doll.

Adrien and Alice caught up to the intruder. With a keyblade out, they weren't hard to spot. Adrien narrowed his eyes and Alice called out, "Hey you! Freeze! You've intruded into a city that is not yours to walk into. Lumini is a sacred city of Light and Haven scum is not welcome here!"

 

Well, i'm not from Haven, though i am sorry for walking into your humble city without explaining myself first but i wished to find you and speak to you yourself personally. May I tell you the reason I am here?

 

Music. Song. Dance.
All part of the life the Karma Gypsies had to use in order to survive. The dancer were the main part of the show, catching the eyes of whomever might be passing by.
The cities of Haven and Lumini were just mere cities to dear Faya, dancing about with her arms limply swaying and her bangles jingling with each movement. 'The Disabled Dancer' was the title that had been given to her, for the expressive arms of any human were dead. Their owner didn't care, she was too busy trying to make a profit to feed her clan tonight. The Road of Twilight was her choice of location, since people from both cities traveled the road and she was given a bit of diversity. Her 'brothers' and 'sisters' contributed by playing instruments, creating little shows around the dancer, or even guiding a few souls to see the show. The littler ones, dressed considerably different from the others of their clan, ran around pick-pocketing some cash in order to feed the 14 hungry mouths.
"As long as it gets food on the table." Was always the saying of choice.

 

Oh, so that's a king... It is not what I expected at all.

Lynn nods at Ash's words as she watched Neo. He didn't seem as nice as Ash was trying to make him out to be... But she decided to take his word for it anyway. It was not like she was one to argue either way.

"So," she turned her gaze back to Ash, looking up at him, realizing for the first time that she was rather short. Least in comparison to many around her. "I-I really don't know how to say this... But, um... Could I ask for your help?"

 

Max scratched the back of his head,Hmm..that was quite..odd. he thought, turning around and walking off again. He turned a corner and walked what felt like a century, walking until the very border of Lumini in the woods, a little cottage resting in between the trees. Max almost walked by it but turned at the last second, jumping off a small slope, landing only a few feet from the door. He casually opened up the door and walked in, and immediately reached over his back and took out his sword, putting it up on the wall on special hinges. He walked over to a candle and cupped his hands together, a tiny flame in between his hands. Normally he just keeps this a secret, because he went by, Seriously, who likes fire for destruction? he slowly moved his hands apart, trying to keep his concentration on the little flame. He lowered his hands and the flame immediately combined with the candle. He walked over to a hammock, and awkwardly climbed in, laying down across the top. He thought of things to think about, but just like him, his mind couldn't stay on one topic at once, he got up as quickly as he laid down, walking toward the door and grabbing his sword off of the hinges as he walked. He pushed the door far open, no need to even close it considering how hard he had opened it, it flew straight closed. He headed off toward the road that led to Haven, keeping his sword tightly grasped in his hand as he walked.

 

Adrien and Alice hesitated, keeping their Keyblades ready for the slightest hostile movement, "I suppose. Why are you here?"

Ash smiled down at her and nodded furiously. His hair fell into his eyes and he impatiently pushed it away, "Absolutely! What can I do for you?" Realizing how awkward that sounded he started to blush, "Uh, or rather....wh-what do you need help with? I'm glad to help." Still kind of awkward but it would have to do. Neo started to laugh behind him and Ash glanced over his shoulder at his King. "Please, don't stop. This is the most amusment I've had in years." Feeling embarrassed, Ash ran his fingers through his thick hair, "Something I can do for you, Your Majesty?" Neo's eyes calmed to a gentle gray. "Oh, no not really. Who's this?" Instead of waiting for Ash to fumble for Lynn's name, he moved his Captain aside and captured Lynn's hand, bringing it to his lips. "I don't believe we've met."

Martel had quietly crept out of her city, a cloak keeping her obvious idenity secret. The maze of roads led in each direction to and from Lumini and Haven and to other cities...or rather to the end of this world and into other worlds. Martel herself had never gone down those roads. She knew Neo had and it made him a better ruler than her...something she was jealous of. The Road of Twilight....it was usually darker than Martel was used to. It led around the Dark Forest, which was convienent for travelers who didn't want to be slaughtered by Haven bandits, Heartless, Nobodies or Xenree's posse. She didn't wish to encounter any of those.
~Silence~
Martel bit her lip at the odd silence following her. It was too quiet. Her heart raced and she quickened he step. Gripping her cloak tightly around her, she ran. Martel stopped suddenly and glanced behind her. Three men, rather...burly men, were following her. Not my day. she thought and started again, hurrying. But the men, obviously from Haven, were gaining on her. She heard music up ahead on the road, but that wouldn't matter if they caught her before she could reach the safety of people. Even Haven people would be fine.

 

There were a few children running about, the gypsies stopping each burly men with their running about.
"Come with me." A older woman, no later then 40, seemingly from the shadows, stepped up to the running to the disguised leader. "You'll be safe." She pulled the hand of her dear guest and led her into the dark alleyways of markets.
The music blared louder, the jingling more vibrant. Little Faya was dancing proudly and powerfully, her siblings mimicking with their instruments in order to hide away their new guest. Travelers help travelers, regardless of who they are. It was almost a code.

Lynn's face turned red at the sudden realization of Neo taking her hand. It was embarrassing, even though she really didn't know why it even would be. She looked briefly over towards Ash then back towards Neo.

"My name is Lynn..."

She then fumbled over the words she needed to say to explain her...situation. Was it normal for people to wake up in cities without any memories what-so-ever?

"And well... Yesterday I woke up here... But... But I can't remember anything before that. I don't even know if Lynn is my real name..."
