Video Game: Kingdom Hearts SOS: The Road To Light

Aden blinked in shock when a skunk appeared from nowhere and struck down one of the dogs with a Keyblade. "Sweet Gaea...!" He grinned and thought of patting the Keyblader--Eon--on the back, but thought better of it with the wings and all.

"Thanks fo the help," he said earnestly. "We'll be able to catch back up with Bambi and Thumper in no time now!" One of the dogs snarled and lunged back at the group, but Aden whacked it in the nose with the flat of his Keyblade, and the dog shrank back, whimpering softly.

 

Karina decided it was about time to stop talking. She thought that she might start creating problems if she didn't. It wasn't that she regretted anything she said, she meant every word of it, but as she looked at the group she began to realize that she was probably the weakest one there. It seemed the rest probably had some sort of formal training with a weapon, or at least been on a mission before, while this was her first mission and she had never been allowed to train back home, not like that stopped her though. She started to realize if anyone of them thought that she was a big problem or too much to handle, they probably wouldn't have a problem with asking her to leave. Karina was still unsure about this new guy and she still didn't like Luna but she would stop talking for now and take a step back and just follow the group for now and attempt to keep any of her opinions to herself.

 

Despite his better judgement, Krowley didn't want anymore enemies. In realizing this he introduced himself.
"I'm Krowley. This is Karina, Luna and Noroz," he directed pointed to each of the individuals.
"Sup?" Noroz replied blatantly.
Wishing to move forward, he kept most of the keyblade information to a minimum.
"The keyblade is a powerful weapon. Creatures like heartless will come after you since it acts like a homing beacon... Just make sure you use it right," he instructed.
Hoping everyone would put their differences aside, he pressed on through the hidden door revealing the staricase leading to the Queen's chambers. Upon walking through the door, he could have sworn he heard faint voices chanting "I" and "O" repeatedly...

The row of archers continued to sling arrows to see how close they could get to a bullseye. The crowd cheered on as countless arrows flew through the air. The sherrif himself was tied for first with a small raccoon girl for hitting the ring outside the bullseye. Boos and hisses made their way to the sherrif's ears for he frowned in discontent.

Playfully fiddling with his bow, Robin used his fake feathered arms to sling back his bow and shoot. Not even taking the time to aim, his twiddled and poorly crafted arrow hit the dead center of the target. More cheers roared across the field.

Maid Marian, still unaware of Robin's disguise clapped enthusiastically while still next to Prince John. "A perfect Bullseye... Well, well," Prince John smirked. Worried for his friend, Little John chuckled and tried to take the prince's mind off it. "Hehe... Now that's what you call pulling it back and letting it go P.J." The Prince was amused, but kept his sights on the spindled archer.


Back on the Archer's field, Robin did a little dance. Shooting next to the sheriff himself he excitedly claimed in a devinshire accent, "I'm gonna win me that golden arrow, and then I'm gonna present meself to the lovely Maid Marian, and-"
"Listen Scissor-bill, if you shoot half as well as you blabbermouth, yer better than Robin hood," the sheriff joked.
"Robin 'Ood he says! Wow-ee! I'm tip top alright but I'm not as good as he is!" Effortlessly, he let loose another arrow. the stadium awed as it landed less a millimeter away from his last shot.

Scaring off the final dog, the now four disguised animals regrouped.
The forest was now dead quiet from the dogs or the hunters. This included the still absence of Bambi or Thumper. With proper introduction still needing to be made, checking up on the woodlands inhabitants was also a priority.

Trumpets roared signalling the end of the qualification round.
The captain of the royal guards stepped forward to announce the results.
"Attention, everyone! The final contestants are;
The honorable Sheriff of Nottingham." The sheriff lept forward expecting a standing ovation, only to hear more hisses and boos.
"The young fox from.. out of town." Kel looked around as he had just hit the bar to make it into the final four. Claps and cheers were small, but flattering.
"The late entry; the small statured raccoon." The Alligator guard, motioning to Xara, attempted to contain his laughter at the fact that she was only a young girl. Cheers for her were minimal among adults, but astounding among the children.
"And finally, the Spindle legged Stork, from Devinshire!" he chuckled as Robin accepted the loud praises.
He waved over to his beloved Marian, as she waved back in slight confusion. She still had not recognized him, but something seemed familiar about him.
"My dear, I suspect you favor the gangly youth, hmm?" The Prince asked.
"Wh-why yes sire.. at least he amuses me," she gestured, still focused on where she had seen him.
Prince John chuckled hysterically. "Hehe, coincidentally my dear young lady, he amuses me too..." he grinned devilishly, tapping his paws together in a sinister way.

Back at the stadium, contestants who did not qualify, were directed to the stands to watch the rest of the match.
Robin instructed all but Kel to wait for them until the tournament had ended.

The captain of the guards stepped forward once again to announce the challenge that would decide the winner.
"For the final shootout, move the target back thirty paces!" he instructed.
Drumrolls began as a lowly vulture guard began to move the target back, before the sheriff stopped him quickly. "Remember what you're supposed to do," he winked. "Yes sir, sheriff sir!" he replied.

The target now in place, Archers were to take aim one at a time, at the target. The order was declared as follows;
The Honorable Sheriff, , The Small Raccoon, The Out of Town Fox, The Gangled Stork.
Since Robin and the others did not jot down their actual names, they were given labels for the sake of the audience.

The sheriff was up first, brimming with confidence. He slung his bow back and fired an arrow, watching to see it hit the target.
As predicted, the arrow hit the dead center, but only after the target seemed to have "jumped."
Boos repeated, but not caring, the husky wolf stepped back in pride. "Well, that wins the golden arrow, the kiss, and the whole caboodle," he stated happily. Passing by the raccoon, he chuckled. "Yer up, shorty."

The five of them had made their way up the staircase to find an empty chamber.
Krowley gazed around as the only the mirror was the only animate thing in the room.
"Where's the queen?" he asked. The mirror did nothing.
Impatient, he summoned his keyblade. "Tell me!"

"The queen has fled, you failed her quest,​

She sold her beauty, and headed west."​

The second half confused him, as he didn't understand what that meant. More importantly, the group had just arrived from that direction, which made him worry. "Has she gone after Snow White? Tell us?!​

"Alas, requests I cannot do,​

Save for the queen, which isn't you.​

Should you decide to seek my service,​

Then strike me down, lest you be nervous."​

Krowley didn't like the direction this was heading towards. Before continuing on,he looked to the Queen's table finding an assortment of chemicals. There were enough materials to give out 1 potion to each wielder.​

"Can't you only follow the queen's orders though.. And what happens if we win?"​

Krowley didn't like where this part was headed...​

A giant light shone from the mirror, absorbing all five of them into the mirror. Inside his domain, was an endless area of marble floor surrounded by flames of purple and white. Before them stood a the mask of the giant mirror, increased to nearly three times their size. Almost like he was an illusion, he charged forward...​

~MISSION START~ VII. The Magic Mirror​

Next up was Robin.
The Stork formed thief stood up to the archer's line preparing to fire. In fear of him hitting another bulls-eye, the sheriff slyly used his bow to through him off balance, causing his arrow to be slung into the air.
The crowd gasped at the arrow that headed for the heavens. Quickly thinking, robin shot another arrow to follow the first.
Barely within sight, it caught up to the first arrow, gently tapping the back end and caused it to change direction. It was now descending at a rapid rate straight for the target.
The audience watched in anticipation to see where the dangling arrow would land.
In a surprise turn of events, his arrow crushed the sheriff's attempt landing spot on where his landed, causing it to wilt off the target.
More cheers and whistling praised him and his triumphant victory, unaware of the Prince secretly signalling Nequa. She tilted her head in return as she fled off the castle walls.

A victorious reprise was played by the royal minstrels, and Robin happily strutted to Prince John's tent. All bodies in the kingdom huddled to see the the Stork receive his prize.
"Archer, I commend you." Prince John royally decreed.
"And because of your superior skill, you shall get what is coming to you."
Robin stayed fixated on his true love's eyes next to the Prince. More and more she was beginning to recognize him, but couldn't remember. All she knew was his eyes made her feel happy in some way.
"Our Royal Congratulations..." he finished.
"Oh thank ye kindly yer highness! Meetin' you, face to face yer high and mighty is a real treat!" Robin shook his hand roughly with an excited expression to match his phony enthusiasm upon meeting the Prince again.
"Release the royal fingers..." he commanded pulling away.
A pin cushion with a long sword placed on it, was presented to the royal. Taking the sword, he proceeded to "award" his victor.
"And now, I name you the winner..." he stated gently tapping the sword on both Robin's shoulders.
"Or more appropriately...the loser." Prince John slid the sword into the back end of his disguise, and unveiled his true identity.
Robin stood unmasked and on his stork-like stilts.
The crowd gasped, along with the wielders, Prince John, and most stunned of all; Maid Marian.

"Seize him..." he commanded.
Outnumbered, the guards easily apprehended Robin and tied him down.
"I sentence you to sudden, instant, and even immediate death!"
"Oh no..." Marian cried out. Tears began to roll down her vixen cheeks as she turned to the Prince and begged him to keep Robin alive.
"Oh please... Please sire. I beg of you to spare his life. Please have mercy!"
"My dear emotional lady, why should I?"
She looked to Robin and saw the face of the person she had loved and continued loving after all these years. She felt even more foolish for not recognizing him sooner.
"Because I love him, your highness..."
The Prince remained dramatically stunned. "Love him?" He looked to Robin. "And does this prisoner return you love?"
Robin stared back at Marian's teary eyes.
"Marian my darling... I love you more than life itself," he confessed.

"Oh, young love. Your pleas have not fallen upon a heart of stone..." the Prince dramatically stated.
"But traitors to the crown, must die!"
"Traitor to the Crown?! That crown belongs to King Richard!" Robin burst out.

(Before Prince john was announced the King of England, his older brother Richard was the rightful heir. He however, left on an expedition leaving his younger brother in charge until his return. During this time, Prince John used his power to tax the poor and gain more and more riches at the expense of the people)

"Enough! I am King! King! King!" he repeated, jumping up and down on his throne like a child throwing a temper tantrum.

"This is just getting sad," Nequa thought aloud.
With a snap of her fingers, elastic-like creatures appeared with mesmerizing movements. Unlike the heartless, they were light skinned and didn't seem to have eyes.

In a rage, Prince John yelled out; "Kill them!"
The wielders jumped in to Robin's rescue joined by Little John.
"Don't worry about me, protect Maid Marian!" he instructed.

~MISSION START~ VII. What a Beautiful Brawl

Aden took Eon's paw in his wing and...oh. Hmmm. The shaking thing really wasn't working out.

He couldn't wait to get back to being human again.

"Glad to have you with us," Aden said. "And thanks for the help...ah, you're right!" Aden looked around in a panic. Where had Bambi and Thumper gone?! Aden cursed, wracking his memory. The fight with the dogs had moved him all over the place... No, wait. He'd tripped on that tree root before the dogs attacked, which meant they'd been coming from that direction, and Bambi and Thumper would be...

"...That way?" Aden guessed, pointing straight ahead and to the right. "I think that might be where they've gone."

 

Karina took a deep breath as she drew her keyblade and stepped forward. "So we are facing a giant face in a mirror, eh? This should be interesting" She thought right before she jumped forward to attack it. This was the first real big battle she had ever fought. She had fought those small creatures before they came here and besides that she just trained on trees and stuff at home in the woods. She hoped she wouldn't mess up.

 

Aden stopped. "That's...actually a good idea," he noted, slightly embarassed for not having thought of that sooner. "Um. If you guys head toward the sound, I can try to get us a view from up top." He gulped. He was not looking forward to trying flying again, but if it had to be done, then so be it.
