Video Game: Kingdom Hearts SOS: The Road To Light

A wave of tension washed over Beuce as the bracelet clicked from his wrist. On the bright side, he could summon his keyblade and be now able to defend himself, but there was no way they would just release him so easily. A moment of anticipation followed, and then the loudspeaker tuned in. He recognized the voice instantly as the man who had hijacked their mark of mastery exam. He'd only ever really known him through a loudspeaker. One by one his friends were confronted by members of the red society. He summoned his keyblade and was about to go and help, but he heard the scrape of steel behind him. "Where do you think you're going? I hope you're ready for round two." The voice said. Beuce turned around and was confronted by a smooth black-haired man. The very same who had defeated him at the tournament.

"What's that face for? Cursing your luck? Or are you just not happy to see me?" Beuce brandished his keyblade and shot a glare at Victor. With a deep inhale, he prepared himself. Victor took up a stance to oppose his. "Well, at least you're not demoralized. Show me if you've learned anything!" With that, he lunged forward and thrust his blade. Beuce remained unflinching, and the blade passed through his face and vanished. Beuce's eyes darted around to find the man's real location and barely managed to catch a glimpse of it in time to deliver a hard punch to Victor's chest. He staggered backward and Beuce moved in with a low thrust. It passed through where Luther appeared to be, so Beuce swept in a circular motion around him until it connected with the then invisible foe.

In an incredible display of dexterity, Luther flatted his palm against the ground and pushed himself into a handstand from which he rolled back onto his feet. "Well, you've certainly brought your A-game. Unfortunately, it won't be enough"

His bracelet landed against the ground with a clank which drew his attention away from the summit itself briefly to that, which lead to him noticing that the same had happened to the others who also wore bracelets. Access to his keyblade was returned to him, but the sheer suddenness of it worried him. With all the procedures and protocols that they stuck to here, they would do something like this completely outta nowhere. Then came both the familiar voice and symbol to further justify these worries.

As Kel rose to his feet, he caught a glimpse of the portal that had pulled his father in. "Dad!" Gone without a trace and leaving behind the empty chair in which he once was seated. A mixture of fear and anger welled up within him. He knew that his dad was a capable fighter, more capable than he was, but this was something that e's never dealt with before. If something were to go horribly wrong, then it would be while he didn't know what he was up against which was exactly what he wanted to prevent from happening.

To that end, he paid no attention to the red "X" that had appeared onto him and instead focused right on Hotel. "The only thing I want to do right now is to get my dad back and if you're going to get in the way of that, then I will remove you from my path first." His keyblade manifested in his hand as he took up his read stance for th battle to come.

Stratos had been silent for the most part, as both he and Meso simply didn't seem to have much to talk to each other about. Or, perhaps, they had too much to talk about. Stratos wasn't really sure where to start, and Meso wasn't exactly in a conversational mood either. And so, they just sat there. Things happened, people left, judgements happened, someone was a boomer. And through it all the only thing that Stratos could really retain was that this place was clearly something messed up. As he started to think more on it, though, his thoughts were interrupted as the bracelets he was wearing suddenly came off. Curious and concerned by this development, Stratos then looked over to see a dark portal forming around his former friend. "Meso!" Though the boy shouted, Meso didn't seem concerned at all, as he simply gave an almost challenging look at Stratos.

Once that was done with, the jail they had been in was suddenly assaulted by two people. Stratos backed up and looked in shock as one intruders seemed to be dealing with the man named Quil. "Gilgamesh!?"

The man in question, who had been panicking a few moments earlier, looked over to Stratos with a disappointed expression on his face. "It's Alpha! Didn't you just hear my great introduction." The man looked over to Quil with very little concern as he shook his head. "You'd think with how around he is he would've heard me. Kids these days, right?" Glaring at him, Stratos summoned his keyblade and tapped the blade against the cell door. As he did, the door unlocked and opened up, only to prompt Gilga- "Alpha!" - Alpha to shake his head. "I've got two God modders in here, no wonder you're both in jail."

The man was still just as confusing as ever, yet still Stratos was curious about this whole situation. His eyes looked over to see that Kaida was also being engaged by someone, but he felt like if he took his focus off of Alpha for even a moment he'd regret it. "What are you doing here?" The boy questioned.

Alpha pondered for a moment before flatly saying, "I don't know." Stratos raised an eyebrow, as the man's tone was genuine as well, before he elaborated. "Well, I know why I'm here. But you don't know. So I don't know. You know?"

Letting out a sigh he said, "whatever. You're probably here just to cause trouble again, especially if you're with that masked boy." Conjuring a flame on his keyblade, Stratos shouted out, "Firaga!" Sending out a ball of flame, faster than the eye could perceive, Alpha had drawn a sword in his other hand and had slashed at the flame, parrying it and sending it right towards Stratos. Raising up his keyblade the boy managed to smack the flame into the floor.

"Parry this you casual!" A moment later Alpha flung one of his swords at Stratos. The keyblade master brought his own weapon back up, guarding against the weapon though gritting his teeth as he did so. The force of the weapon knocked him back into his cell, hitting against the wall as the blade itself spun away from Stratos and majestically back into Alpha's hand. "Oh, you did. Well," pointing his sword at Stratos again he shouted, "en garde!" As an afterthought he looked back to Quil with concern on his face shouting, "oooh, noooo, you can't just break my arm like that! That's against the rules!"

 

Quill was shocked to see the quiet boy from before, Stratos, stand up and begin fighting. He seemed to be in a world of his own for so long. But the sudden appearance of old enemies for his group had awoken him from his stupor. He began to use magic with his keyblade but the large man was hardly distracted, his endless swords putting Stratos on his back-foot. It seemed that this man, who now Quill knew as Gilgamesh- “Alpha! Your droning inner monologues are boring enough without also being wrong!” He began to struggle against Quill’s grasp, only barely holding on after digging his new jagged boots into the metallic floor. He whistled “Now that’s new, you got metal growing out of your skin now?”

“Well actually it’s closer to a type of bone- ugh stop being so weird! So what’s the idea? Who are you serving? What did these guys do to you all that you need to endanger everyone on this ship?” Quill began pulling back on Gil/Alpha to try to get his attention, but he was treating his attack as an afterthought. “Ha that’s too many questions to answer in one post, so let’s slow your roll.” He began pulling forward until Quill’s face smashing into the bars, Quill was only slowing him by inches. Quill yelled “Well get serious then, I’m Ripping. This. Arm. Off!” Quill began to focus his energy into his claws and forced his body down. He didn’t need a keyblade for this, he would show this cocky *kupo* who he was.

With each word the symbols for each element encircled Quill. Forcing the magic through his arms, the elements came through his claws in massive gashes across Gil/Alpha's body. Earth, Fire, Wind and Ice struck out of Quill's body until he felt drained. The man screamed throughout and really seemed to suffer, his right side looked battered and scarred. “AAHHHH WHY MY RIGHT ARM, MY ONLY RIGHT ARM! Oh wait.” He finally looked at Quill again, “Kidding.” From his body grew three other arms, each undamaged and strong looking. A greatsword, shortspear, and scimitar all appeared and primed themselves to strike. Quill looked in stunned silence “Uhh, that’s new.” In the blink of an eye, a flurry of blades came down on Quill’s body. He could’ve been cut in half if the bars of the cell hadn’t taken the initial brunt. Quill attempted to jump away with gauntlets crossed in front of him but it only did so much, the blades sliced through the chitin easily and sent Quill flying into the wall. He crashed through a series of electrical panels and machinery, Quill felt like he had cuts on every inch of his body. He was indented deeply in the wall and was near passing out. Alpha stared him down “You’re green kid, not literally of course. These kids know that I’m not someone to underestimate or use their cringy anime attacks on. Now-” He turned around and faced Stratos again “you got any other tricks?”

 

Kaida made a point not to leave her cell. Convinced fully this was a setup designed to try and pin something on her. But she did summon her keyblade as she said, "Aw look. Did someone get salty they couldn't slander me in front of a judge and now wants to take their saltiness out a different way?"

"I know you're mocking me, but truth be told I did have some bullet points prepared ahead of time... being as how you're so keen on dishing out a burn..." He opened his hand where a large orb of fire appeared. "Allow me to repay the favor." He through the powerful fire spell with great speed at Kaida.

The cell didn't give her much room to maneuver but she did manage to duck in enough time to avoid the fireball. It resulted in her readjusting her stance to try and throw a fire spell right back at him.

He shot a more powerful fire spell to collide with hers. The explosion pushed back both of them and destroyed enough cell bars for Kaida to escape from. "You're quick... but your magic is severely lacking..." He looked around the prison block as if looking for something. "If not for your informant, I wouldn't even need to be here..."

Kaida still stayed in the cell and said, "Ah yes, the informant. Care to reveal who that is? I'll give you free reign to kick my *kupo* for 30 seconds if you tell me."
"And how is that different from every other encounter?" Kaizo quizzed before casting thundaza at her.

Kaida would have probably had a witty retort but the thunder hit her in just the right way to remind her of the collar again. She took a deep breath and looked at him and decided he wasn't even worth talking to anymore. She flickered a little bit as her time aura kicked in. She stood still a moment before she seemed to jump forward with nothing in between her movements. This kept happening until she connected with her keyblade and pushed him away from her cell as she stayed firmly at the edge of it.

He pulled himself off the wall, growing more agitated. "You never learn, do you?" He flew out his hands yelling "Stopza!" Everyone else but he and Kaida froze in time as he activated his own aura to match hers. He charged forward as the two began to fight with after image fighting after image.

 

It was a relief that he could still move, though the shock of pain upon trying to move was less than welcome. This guy...he was not like anything Quill had seen before. Though his demeanor shifted, his skill with his weapons were perfect. Every strike played into the other, like a chorus of blades in sync with one another. Yet this was very hard to appreciate as this was an enemy Quill could hardly take seriously, it infuriated him to no end. Pulling himself from the wall was no easy task, he was squeezed between sheets of metal and tangled wires. And this was without considering his own injuries. Quill pulled free after a couple pushes, and fell on his face. This day..has been a challenge.

Quill began recovering his composure and forced himself up. It seemed Stratos was distracting Gil with his magic projectiles, which got the big guy’s attention well enough. Perhaps magic was particularly worrying for Gilgamesh, but he was still more than skilled enough to handle any direct magical assault. After using something new forms of magic Quill hadn’t seen before, Gil grew 8 arms in total each with dangerous weapons. But as Quill got a moment to look him over, something caught his eyes. Though each weapon was powerful and wielded deftly, a single blade in a blue sheath hung from Gilgamesh’s hip. That, it must be his trump card. Quill resolved to use this opportunity. Rushing at the beast of man, he was already aware of Quill’s assault and spin his left right side to pierce him through. But Quill was ready, detaching his chitin gauntlets upon striking as a decoy, weighing his weapons down. Quill slid under him and took the sheathed blade as he moved past him. Quill threw off the sheath, a shining blue sword with a visible aura came to Quill’s hands. He smiled “Your own foolishness has been your undoing Gilgamesh!” Hopping to the air, the blade came down and-

Quill could feel an audible silence in the room, as everyone seemed to notice a small number appear over Gil’s head. Quill struck his side again.

“So, this isn’t my day…” Quill got out that sentence as Gilgamesh’s greatsword sent him flying again. Quill slammed through the automatic doors of the prison block, landing among a pile of knocked out guards. “...I swear if I crash through one more thing...” Quill was near collapse from exhaustion, pain, and frankly embarrassment. The awful blade lay among the passed out.

"I'm not going anywhere with you so you can forget that." Kel didn't know why it was him in particular and he wasn't too keen on giving it too much thought right. Whether it was his place or not to make demands his concerns lied more with dealing with this and figuring out how to get back those who were taken. That had been the drive behind Kel remaining firm in his position despite the gun being pointed at him, even with how disadvantageous things started to be for them. With the numbers that they had they should've been able to deal with both Hotel and his marksmanship, but Aislinn defending her niece which gave them something to exploit.

His grip on his keyblade tightens as is looked around to see the situation that his friends were in. As annoying as he found Sho's general way of speaking to be, this whole incident was pointed solely at them. In fact, one of the people who had been taken was Xares, which made things a bit easier for the time being. Kel aimed his voice towards where he presumed Beuce was, hoping he was conscious enough to hear this. "Beuce! Karina's still on the ship, she's on one of the deepest cells!"

How Hotel manged to fire, two shots, crystallizing and immobilizing Aislin's lower half was beyond him as he was standing in front of her. He then said about taking Kel. 'Aw come one, can't you deal with the blonde one. He seems to be a pain in the butt.' X-ray complained as he still stood there watching everything happen. No one had attacked him, so he wasn't going to attack them. Perhaps they would just give up, if not then he would dispense of them quickly so he could get out of there. He had to do something. Seeing as they were just standing there just ignoring him he had to act. He pointed his keyblade at Hotel. But before the spell went off. Hotel took the opportunity, and fired two ice shots to immobilize kel's hands and feet. He leapt forward and grabbed the young man aggressively by the collar. He tapped an earpiece to communicate with his other red society members. 'Package secure.... Let's high tail it outta here...' Hotel opened a portal and quickly jumped through his portal with kel in toe. His attack went off harmlessly into the sky as where hotel was standing was now empty space. Them taking Kel was not good for them or him. They wanted him for something more than likely. He had to do something. Seeing as Aislinn was still frozen with ice he walked up to her and use his hand to melt the ice away with fire carefully to not hurt her or the child. Now that was done it was time to get and the task at hand and find where they might have gone. He pulled out his map and looked at it. Seeing as everyone had fled it was just a matter of finding everyone.

 

Laying among the pile of guards, bleeding and bruised, and terribly flustered Quill concluded he’s had worse days. Pulling himself with this ridiculous sword, Quill began to examine the guards. They seemed to all have heavy injuries, but they would survive. Something also on them, some form of small pad. Possibly a device to remotely open cells and punish prisoners. A thought came to Quill’s mind. Taking the pad and pressing against the sensor on his collar, a registration for Quill came up. Pictures of his condition, his keyblade, but no information on how he recovered here. Information on his homeworld came up, including there was a survivor of his world here. No identity was given, but it was the first good news Quill had heard in a long time. Looking at the other functions, he saw there was a function for unlocking collars. Required either a passcode or a thumbprint of someone with correct clearance. “Hmm well I wonder where I’ll find that?” Quill mumbled to himself as he pulled a couple of the guards up and tried each of their hands. Finally he found the captains worked, and with a small zap and click, the collar fell off of him.

Quill walked into the room of the cell block, where everyone seemed still rather off-put but the recent events. “So bad news, they kicked our asses good. I’m gonna be feeling those cuts for a month. Good news though-” Quill pulled the unconscious guard into the room by his arm and held up the pad “-I got a key for the collars.” Quill offered the pad to Kaida and Stratos.

As the metal cuff that the guards had placed on him when he had been let out of his cell earlier Fuast had felt both elation and confusion at the turn of events. The next few events seemed to happen in rapid succession the crowd seemed to fall into a panic, the kid he was performing for was sucked into a portal, and some guys he hadn’t seen before had barged in seeming intent on messing with the SOS. seeing that an hostage situation had probably formed quite quickly he really didn’t want to be the one to set off this powder keg that seemed to involve the loved ones of his other members by acting first so he figured waiting for the hostile gunman to act first would be the best option for now.


As Faust came to his conclusion he realized that the Baddies had already left with Kel tow. Seeing that the others were gathering up in the center where the world leaders had convened earlier he meandered his way over to the group as he casually explained the slightly ruined hall. In response to Aislinn”s question he could only shrug as he replied “Well this is a ship of some kind right so i Can only really think of two places they could go to to get off from a this kind of ship, Some kind of hanger or possibly the bridge and just take this whole place to wherever they want. Don’t know if that really helps though seeing as they could of just teleport though”

He continued to look at the map when Aislinn said, 'We need to find out where they are, we need to get them, just... how. Do we know where they would take them?' "They took off rather quickly." Faust then said something about the group they just fought getting off the ship. Seeing as there was no reason to repeat what he said the said nothing about where they went. "I suggest we get the others out of jail and get everyone together. As I do not idea of fightting them again with such low numbers and maybe one one of them have an idea of what to do." Seeing as of late what he tried doing never worked it was probably best someone else took the idea ring.

 

Beuce made a tsk as Luther abruptly left the fight. He'd only been there to distract him, and it had worked. The man leaped over to where his comrades were, slightly surprised to see Aislinn. "Hey. Glad to see you aren't dead." He looked around, taking a mental headcount. "What could they want with Kel...?" He muttered to himself. "First things first, is anyone hurt? If so, we should heal up while we have a minute. Second, AJ has a point. We should get everyone else out of jail. It's not quite the circumstance I wanted to get them out under but it works all the same. After that, we need Kel back. I don't know what they want with him, but it can't possibly be good. Lastly, we should get everyone off this ship and blow it to hell and back. It's rotten to its core, and we wouldn't exactly be doing our jobs if we left it operational." ​

Once again the trend of a million questions running through his head and not a single answer in sight continued in his current situation, but in this case, there was actually something that he could do that came to mind. With everything that he overheard from the Red Society before they split off he knew where to go and the ice that was currently restraining him didn't bother him due to his own innate aura.

Kel took his chance while Hotel was distracted to work his way onto his feet before striking him with the ice that currently restrained his wrists. The blow was strong enough to break said ice and hopefully enough to knock Hotel out as well. His keyblade formed in his now free hands and melted the ice around his ankles by covering the blade in flames and applying it upon the ice. Now that his limbs were free, he was quick to move towards the exit and from there he would try to find his way to prison blocks and hopefully the others.

 

Beuce was a bit taken aback by Aislinn jumping down his throat at the mention of blowing up the ship. He hadn't expected her to be so adamant about the ship being a...well, sanctuary. He sighed "Look, I take that to mean you haven't seen a lot of what else they've been doing. If you want a more thorough explanation, later on, I'll give you one, for now though just trust me when I say that Xares being generally a bad guy is far from the biggest problem this place has. It's rotten to the core, but right now, that doesn't really matter. Priority number one is saving everyone else." Beuce turned and began to run to the jail​
