Video Game: Kingdom Hearts SOS: The Road To Light

Beuce chuckled at Karina's stammering to get out the right words. "A gift, huh?" The merman took the small flame shaped pendant in his hand and looked it over curiously. A smile entering his face served as proof that he liked it. "This is really cool." He opened the chain and put it around the back of his neck before fastening it again and letting it dangle across his chest. "This a return gift for the necklace I got you a while back?" He asked, curious where she actually got it. "If so, I think you might have shown me up a bit. Maybe I'll do something later." He half-joked. Before much else could happen, he caught sight of something in the distance. A white haired merman was heading in their direction, holding a large golden trident. "Yo, Triton is coming this way.. We should get back inside and let them know. " Beuce said, swimming back into the grotto. "Hey uh, Ariel. Your dad might be on his way." ​

 

Stratos had been relatively quiet the whole way through, mostly just confused by everything that had gone on thus far. As he now understood it, their mission was to help a girl who was chosen by the sea take a green gem to a volcano with the help of a large man, who now needed to get his giant hook from the clutches of an enormous crab monster. A crab monster who also collected keyblades. There was also a wolf with a keyblade, though, Stratos wasn't sure if he should've just considered that as strange or par for the course at this point. But, having entered the realm of monsters with the rest of the keyblade masters, Stratos merely sat back and looked on as Kaida and AJ attempted to distract the giant crab so that Maui could go and take his hook back. Unfortunately, despite being quite the braggart, the crab didn't seem to keen on making friends with them nor did he seem like having an actual conversation. As he moved in to strike at Kaida, the boy summoned his keyblade to his side, and began moving forward alongside the rest of the group. After Kel, AJ and the strange wolf that they had decided to bring with them had all made their move, Stratos began one of his own.

"Hey crab...thing! You like shiny things! Then how about some of this!" Gripping both of his hand on his keyblade, wisps of golden light began to flow around the boy's keyblade as he began charging up the attack. As the light began to coalesce on his keyblade, Stratos took a breath before saying, "excalibur!" As he called out the name of the attack, the golden light enveloping his keyblade began to take more solid shape, elongating past just the confines of the weapon it was attached to. Creating a large sword of golden light, Stratos swung the hefty light attack towards the crab's underside, trying to force its jaw back upward and prevent it from going to take a bite out of his teammate. As the blade struck hard against the creature, Stratos began to put a great deal of force into the blade as tried to push up with it as hard as he could. Fighting against the monster, the blade soon seemed to become more unstable in shape, before with one final heft upwards it exploded into a large burst of golden light.

The burst of the attack seemed to give the creature a slight amount of pause, though it seemed far tougher then to just be brought down by a few motley attacks thus far. With the swing of his blade completing through thin air, as the golden blade no longer existed, Stratos looked to see what the crab would do next. Spinning his keyblade around a bit, the boy took a stance, crouching lower to the ground with his keyblade seeming at the ready to be moved to guard against any oncoming retaliation cat.

Ananta paid attention to Milo attempt to speak to the Atlantean. While the words were similar to her own worlds' ancient texts, there were certain differences that Ananta could note. She was able to understand most of the conversation until the end. Then the warrior punched Mole, causing Ananta to stifle laughter. Soon enough, Laguna was back to Ananta, removing her shackles. "Sorry for having to uh...keep you like this for so long, but I hope we can get to know each other now that this isn't a problem!" he smiled. Ananta returned the smile and held up her left hand, showing both her SOS ring on her thumb and her other ring on her ring finger. "I'm flattered, but there are more important things going on, right?" she asked. Laguna looked saddened all of a sudden, as if he realized something that Ananta did not. "Engaged, huh?" he asked sadly. Ananta suddenly blushed and shook her head, turning away and walking over to Ignis. "I'm staying away from him." she said, trying to hide her face. Laguna was already walking off while Milo and Kida ended up staying with the party.

Kida began to ask questions and Ananta scratched her cheek. "Er, we're from a city with great buildings...." she said, trying to not really give away too much. Ananta heard one soldier speak to Ignis as he unshackled her and that caused Ananta to raise an eyebrow. "My, your voice is familiar." she said. "Though I can't quite place it..."

Ananta thought of how to dance around the man's questions and she hummed to herself. "We're searching for a person, is all. Though we didn't mean to end up here. We've talked, so now it's your turn. What's your angle, soldier? I don't buy the whole...hmm....exploration."​

 

While Kaida was expecting this to not be a cakewalk, she was not expecting this creature to be a giant shiny crab that was able to jut pick her up effortlessly with his claws. The blonde kept squirming to try and get out of his grasp the entire time he was speaking and trying to figure a way out until it mentioned eating her. While she did notice her teammates immediately begin to attack the crab to try and stop this from being the outcome, it didn't seem to affect his ability to hold her and as he was ready to drop her into his mouth she stared into the abyss of his mouth.

So this is how it ends... I become crab food... I never thought I'd see the- no wait that's stupid, Kaida. You made it out of Aux trying to kill you several times, out of No Heart trying to kill you, out of drowning, out of many things. And there is clearly a strategy here don't be dumb just wait.

As the crab let go of her Kaida made it a bit into his mouth before she summoned out a keyblade with a yell, and prying open the mouth of the crab was Lofty Grasp. Kaida panted a bit as she held on with one arm and whispered under her breath, "Thanks Beuce..." before she held her arm out and summoned out Whittling Promises and pointed it into the crabs mouth and screamed, "Firaga!"

When the fireball landed Kaida quickly leapt out of his mouth and landed on the ground with a roll and grunted a bit. She stood up and turned just in time to watch as Moana started falling towards her. Kaida held her arms out and barely caught her as she said, "Oh hey, nice of you to drop in."
"Really? Is now the time for-"

Kaida jumped back quickly as Tamatoa's foot was about to crush the two of them and she looked up to see the crab reaching for his mouth as if trying to get the keyblade. His movement around was probably not helpful for anyone involved. The blonde gritted her teeth and put Moana down and said, "Do whatever you think you need to do, we'll help with this guy."

The girl watched as the crab seemed to break the keyblade and Kaida panicked a moment and reached her hand up to summon it back and was relieved to see his keyblade was unharmed before the crab looked straight at her and said, "Well little lady, don't you have a fiery personality." he reached down quickly to try and grab her with his claw again, but she backed away just quick enough to only just get the force of the claw to push her back. Her hood fell backwards and she grabbed her stomach in pain and backed up a bit as he said, "I wonder if you taste just as spicy as you act." Kaida glared back at him and the next time his claw came at her she swung harshly at it with a yell as she jumped a bit in the air. She rolled around and tried to hide herself under him as she said, "Any of you guys got any good ideas on this one?!"

Tamatoa sidestepped a bit and kicked Kaida across the room and into the wall. She grunted and pointed the two keyblades at him and fired off a fireball and an iceball in his direction, which swirled together straight into his eye as she stood still to breathe a minute and recover from that.

Though Stratos had managed to hit solidly against the the crab monster thing, it seemed that it had done little to save Kaida from her current predicament. Panicking a bit, as it seemed that the crab was about to swallow Kaida whole, the boy went out of his defensive stance and tried to close the distance between the two of them as fast as he could. Of course, as there was any amount of distance between them, he wasn't able to actually move faster then the crab could close its mouth, and so it had seemed that he would've been too late to do anything about it. His eyes going wide as it tried to, he paused as he saw that the mouth was still lodged opened. Looking to the culprit, he saw the familiar blade of Lofty Grasp, Beuce's keyblade, keeping the crab creature from completing the first step of the digestion process. With Kaida able to escape the creature, Stratos was only more surprised as the crab monster seemed to possess the strength to not only take a good deal of punishment from their attacks, but also possessed the strength to break a keyblade in two with just the brute force of his claws. Thinking that they'd need to use a bit more power then the average encounter would entail to bring Tamatoa down, Stratos merely said, "metronome." As he did, the familiar fuchsia aura began to flare up around him, letting loose a small burst of sound as it did and coated the others in a similar, yet smaller aura as the power of beginner lessons took up around them.

As this happened, Kaida was knocked to the side, being kicked by Tamatoa before asking if anyone else had any ideas. As it began to move towards her more, zeroing in on this meal, Stratos said, "yeah! But it's a loud one, so get ready!" Taking a deep breath, Stratos tried to center himself as he focused on the tune and rhythm that made up his aura. As he let out one more breath he merely said, "Rhythm Mixer." As he did, the fuchsia aura around him flared up once more, seeming to create a sheen of fuchsia around his body, aside from just the usual aura. As it did, a pulse of sound was released once more, as everyone felt more in the groove of fighting, and found the small power his aura granted them grow even stronger. Twirling his keyblade around, a globe of energy began to form at the tip of his keyblade, his aura itself seeming to fuse into this orb as he called out, "Bass Boost!" Swinging his keyblade forward, the globe of energy launched forward and erupted into a large wave of sound, striking the crab monster and letting loose a discordant burst of sound at him as it did. The crab's eyes seemed to move around a bit, confused, as it seemed to have its accuracy lowered and gave Kaida an easier time to escape from its attacks towards eating her.

Despite the multitude of attack that struck the crab, it seemed that he was determined to make a meal outta Kaida and most likely Moana as well. Tamota even tanked a blow from Excalibur, barely being fazed by it. Kel quickly looked to AJ who had asked him of any plans of attacks. "Just keep hitting it until it drops one of them, its shell can't possibly be that strong." A very basic plan, but cracking the shell was the closest as anything of a weakness that the crab might have. Unfortunately, this weakness wasn't as obvious as the headless horseman. Kel nodded to affirm this course of action with himself and stepped up to attack again and found that Kaida was not only free from the literal, jaws of death, but also he held on to Beuce's keyblade. While slightly confused, he was more relieved to see that she hadn't been turned into a crab's meal, though it hot on her heels. Its assault was ended by the burst of sound provided by Stratos, causing it to have seemingly lost its balance. At least, that was what it looked like to Kel and he took full advantage of that by charging forth towards the stumbling crab. First a quick change outta his Paladin job and into his soldier job. If his was to just hit it until its shell broke, then he would need power to do so. Power that wouldn't slowly drain him of his strength as he did so.

The moment Kel found himself to be in range, he jumped up and landed right on the back of Tamatoa. Keep his footing was not the easiest thing to do given the sheer amount of gold that was just plastered onto his back. Thankfully Kel did manage to keep his footing and not fall off long enough to deal a hefty 'cross' shaped swing down onto the crab's shell in order to make some sort of a dent. The first strike landed and knocked away some of the gold littering its back. The second strike didn't have as much force to it for the simple fact of the matter that Tamatoahad moved right as Kel had taken a slight step to adjust himself and ended up stepping on some gold that shifted to being right underneath his foot. The keyblade wielder soon found himself slipping off of the back of Tamatoa and onto the ground underneath. Thankfully a fall like that wouldn't be enough to really hurt him, he's been through much much worse, but now he was underneath Tamatoa who was still stumbling about above him. The realization of the danger he was he came when Tamatoa's leg almost came crashing down right onto him. Kel rolled out the way like any sane person would have done, but his initial way of escape was cut off by another leg stepping down right in front of him. He tried to go right and the same thing happened too, essentially keeping him stuck while trying to avoid being stepped on by a crab cat.

Faust was busy taking in the different sites of the city before them as Kida began to ask them and the scholar of the ‘exploration’ group, Milo he believed was his name. Rubbing his wrists where his handcuffs rested moments before he began to think over a response as Ignis tried to rile one of their captures that had stayed behind. She phrased her questions a little strangely, she didn’t just ask what the surface was like but questioned about other “worlds”. People don’t tend to ask that question unless they knew of the concept of other worlds than their own, which was kinda rare in Faust’s experience. There was two ways to answer her question if he wanted to given that he could just let the others Andrew for him. That wouldn’t be that interesting though so he could either dance around the issue like that magic user Ananta or he could give them a bit more of a actual answer.

Looking over at kida Faust just gave his carefree smile as he answered in a causal manner “Personally, where I’m from its just a bunch of little isles. Nothing too interesting about them in my opinion, their nothing compared to this place. I’d greatly appreciate if you wouldn’t mind showing us around. I’ve been told that I make quite the captive audience before.” Faust finished chuckling as he heard Ananta began to ask their remaining capture something in response to his question.

Ignis simply wondered on how she would respond to their guard's response to her own response about the weapons. She could obviously tell that he didn't believe her, but it was true that they didn't have any weapons on them at the moment. After all, it's like she had a sword or keyblade hanging off her side at the moment. The guard had brought up something about having weapons for self-defense, and she only slightly listened

"Well, there's plenty of ways to defend yourself without a weapon. Bare hands, for example." She waved her hand in front of the guard, mocking him slightly with her response.

She realized that Ananta was hiding behind her from Laguna's own conversation with her, and she let out a big sigh. "On come on, he's not that bad. Unlike Not-So-Funny over there," pointing her finger over toward Faust.

As if on cue, Faust had made a pun about their captivity, and Ignis felt like he needed something for the stupid joke. She wasn't really in the mood for anything though, so she simply went over to him and slap him on the head.

"By the way, you realize how strange your question is?" Turning her head back to their gabby captor, " 'People don't just wander into underwater caves searching for lost civilizations'? Do you not see the nerd at 12 o'clock, who's been reading that book nonstop? Trust me, there are plenty of people who would risk their lives to find history. Though not me, never been a giant fan of it."

As the group continued talking, with Ignis realizing she just called the guard a part of their "group", he backed himself away, facing his back towards the rest of the guards. Then he began to talk as he took his ammunition out from his weapon. Ignis raised an eyebrow as he began doing this, finding it a little hard to watch. As he finished, Ignis could tell that he was basically saying "Hey, I'm letting you guys go secretly, so take it."

"Wow, remind me to sign you up for an acting class at some point if your life, that was pretty bad." She looked around, wondering what to do next. "Well, might as well go see what's going on with those guys who went to see the king. Our guard here doesn't seem to care for his job much."

Attacks were going off left and right. Soon Stratos showed up attacking the giant crap with a bright light excalibur. He watched in horror as Kaida fell towards the open giant crabs mouth. He unfortunately could not do much as his keyblade hit the claw that was holding Moana. Luck was on his side as the keyblade hit the claw Moana was in let go of Moana. As the same moment Kaida summoned out a keyblade with a yell, and prying open the mouth of the crab was Lofty Grasp. This was of course Beuce's keyblade and thought on this for a moment before turning his attention back to the task on hand. Kaida had let lose Firaga which opened a opportunity for things to happen. He was able to see that Kaida was now on the ground. Watching her run after Moana and he did the same. He watched as Kaida held her arms out and barely caught Moana. He was not sure what to tell Moana to do so decided to say nothing. At this moment Kaida had said, 'Any of you guys got any good ideas on this one?!' "Not really, the shinny things on its back looks like it is protecting the grant crab somewhat." His light aura did not seem to be doing much of anything at the moment but now that Kaida and Moana were not in thr grant crab's claws he would be able to do some magic. Soon Kel said, 'Just keep hitting it until it drops one of them, its shell can't possibly be that strong.' "I think that if we get rid of the things on Tamota's back it might open him up to more damage or it could very well just make him more angry." He was not that sure if taking shinny things away from Tamota was such a good idea it was just the first thing that came to his mind.

With everyone safe for the time being it was time to let his light aura be his guiding key and power. He let the power of the aura continue to flow over him as he called back his Keyblade to his hand and got ready for the continued battle. The giant crab seemed so use to the light from shinny things that any more light did not have any effect on Tamota's eyes. Well blinding Tamota was not really an option. Maybe just attacking the giant crab would be enough to take him down. There was not really much time to think about it. Explode the crab he thought. Soon mines showed up as he used Minega on Tamota and explostions were happening all over. At first they did not seem to be doing much but soon he watched as some of the shinny things on Tamota's back fell off. Not much had fell off in fact it was not all that notable to Tamota as he continued his on slot on them. At this moment Tamota moved its claw towards him and hit him which seat him flying away from Tamota.

After being shaken around like a rag doll, the wolf loosens his grip with his teeth and falls onto the sandy floor, groaning and whining a little. Slowly the animal got up, shook its head, and got back into the action as if nothing happened. His number one instinct was running to the Keyblade that he broke off, dashing under the large crab while the other keybladers were distracting him, the wolf gripped the handle of the Keyblade with his mouth and instantly felt a surge of power overflowing in him. Ready to fight, the White Beast ran towards two of the large crab legs and struck them with his weapon, hitting both five times. Then again on two others, repeating the process until he had a brilliant thought as he was fighting, he than ran underneath the giant crab and aimed the Keyblade upward to his stomach as he fired a burst of Firaga at the underbelly the crustacean. As he saw the keybladers busy attacking the front, the wolf knew that some crustaceans had soft underbellies, after being on that island for so long he learned a few things, so he used that to his advantage and used a slew of striking along the belly but eventually Tamatoa was going to suspect this, so the beast moved as fast as he could. Doing a dash roll out of the way to join the others, he added a striking blast of Thundaga unto one of the eyes of the monster. Now in battle stance with the rest of the group, listening to their conversation, he joined in by firing another burst of Firaga to one of the legs of the crab. He continuously went round and round the enormous crab, hitting him as many times as possible on the legs, to add by annoying the monster, he went on top of the crab and started kicking tons of gold and shiny objects off. He threw in a Blizzaga for more effect as more and more valuable items fell off his back, at the same time, this was the most fun the wolf had since… well ever since he was put on that island. That was until he was shaken off by the angered crab, having a bad stance from where he was, the White Beast was thrown off easily. Looking that the crab wasn’t happy, the wolf tried to dodge as many hits from the crab as possible, lucky for him he was small and agile and kept leaping from area to area. But then the crab started to predict his movements and eventually got closer and closer every time the beast would out run him. The charade ended by Tamatoa hitting the little animal when he was in mid-air, knocking a little bit of wind out of him made him immobile for a few seconds. The crustacean grabbed the White Beast by the tail and looked at him hungry as the large monster started to dangle the animal while it struggled in a panic.

"I think Faust is funny." Ananta spoke up in the boys' defense. She looked towards Faust a moment and then turned back to stare at Castur. The way he answered their questions was to be expected, but she didn't expect him to try and casually get rid of his bullets. Then it kind of dawned on her and she snapped her finger at Ignis chiding him. "Hm, actually Ignis. We would be best to kind of...." she nodded towards Milo and Kida, trying to hide the fact anything odd was going on. "There must be something hidden away we could go see that's cool...." she whispered.​

 

Luna kept looking around the grotto until Beuce came back inside warning the group of Triton's arrival. Ariel kept gushing over the statue. Luna chuckled a little at the display in front of her. She thought it was pretty cute. Luna smiled as Ariel continued to gush over the human that inspired the statue. Aux was about to head when Triton had appeared in the grotto. Luna turned around and saw Ariel rushing to cover everything in sight. Triton was absolutely livid when he saw the statue. Ariel and the King had a heated argument. As Triton raised his trident, Luna immediately pull Ariel away from danger. "Ariel! Look out!!" She covered her as the statue was smashed into tiny pieces. Ariel's face was one of shock and sadness. Triton had an immediate look of regret. Ariel had demanded to be left in peace. Luna frowned but nodded her head. She and the others exited the grotto. Triton turned to the group before addressing them. "And you just don't fit in it. The keyhole is safe and so is my daughter. I can't jeopardize that by having you here... So you have to leave. There is no room in my ocean for you or your keys. Flounder will lead you to the ocean's border." The girl nodded her head. "Your Majesty.....If I may be so bold as to say, it would really help if you talk to her. Just the two of you. Not as the King but as her father. I think she needs you now more than ever. Especially at her age. Many pardons, your highness." Luna bowed her head as she followed Flounder and the others.

Luna kept swimming along with the others. Karina immediately asked the group what their next move was. Luna then stopped before looking back. "I...I...." She didn't want to leave Ariel and Triton with the way things were going between them. "I can't leave this world like it is right now. Knowing that there's still tension in the sea....and especially between those two.....I...I'm going back....I'm sorry." Luna bowed her head before immediately swimming back.

It had been thanks to the numerous attacks the others had been hitting Tamatoa with that allowed Kel to roll out from underneath the crab to a more, relatively safer spot. The wielder didn't stay there long for as he moved in for another attack. His fist was alit with flames mid swing of his punch that struck true on the crab's leg. The punch itself did its own fair share of damage, but that blow had left a patch of flames on the leg of Tamatoa that exploded shortly and knocking Tamatoa further off balance. That success had lasted only for a moment as balance was regained and its free claw was used to try and crush Kel underneath him. In turn, he blocked the attack that surely would have caused a mess of pain to him. the impact, however, had brought Kel down slightly as a result of the momentum that was behind it. His guard was still up, but he was no longer in the best of positions to be in when blocking attacks. This had been easily noticed and prompted another attack from him. Tamatoa had raised its claw high and brought it down at what could only be assumed to be a higher velocity than the first attack. Blocking this would not be ideal at all and in fact, it would definitely be the worse route to go about for him. Using what little time that he had, Kel stabbed his keyblade into the ground and formed a barrier. Said barrier not only took the full blow of the claw attack but also bounced the clawback. That moment gave Kel just enough time to use barrier surge in the way it was supposed to by him jumping and crashing into the underbelly of Tamatoa himself.

This time when Kel had landed back on the ground after his attack, the first thing that he did was to back up so that there would be more space in between himself and Tamatoa. Next was to try and way to attack without going up to it and hitting it. A minor set back to using his soldier job that honestly wasn't taken into much consideration half the time. Sure he could just switch jobs, but there was the only one that could be as helpful right now and the drawback to it wasn't one that he wanted to deal with at his current moment. After a few more moments Kel decided to simply toss his keyblade at it from afar. Crude sounding, yes, but certainly effectively when it actually struck as well as when it was guaranteed to come right back to him regardless of whether or not it had hit its mark. In this particular instance, the keyblade had found its target. Unfortunately said target ended up being its shell and the keyblade itself had just bounced off the shell with a faint 'tink' sound. While not disappointed, he'd hoped that the attack would've done more than just simply attach more attention to himself as Tamatoa was now heading his way.
