The hairdresser shrugged and walked over to AJ, getting out her equipment. "What kinda style ya lookin' for?" She asked, ready to go to work on the boy's hair. Beuce, meanwhile, took Ignis' hand as she offered to assist in his learning to dance. "Well, I guess it is a good idea to see what level we're on with the whole dancing thing." The man took up the position that the hairdresser had showed him, and the dance began. ​

The first thing Ignis said when she walked in was, 'You do realize a lot of parties have dancing right? It may not be fun, but take my word for it, if we don't want to stick out, it's best we learn how to blend into this party.' "I would not know. I never been to many parties other then for my birthday. To be honest I would rather avoid it if it was possible." He then explained the cut he wanted for his hair and the hairdresser began cutting his hair.

Ignis continued to dance with Beuce, trying not to step on his toes and all the while making sure he doesn't step on hers. It probably looks a little awkward to anyone else watching, but it was better that than having a swollen foot at the end.

"Well, I wouldn't say I've been to a lot of parties, but the ones I was, let's say "coerced", into going to, I stayed to the side, and trust me, you stay out long enough, people tend to notice." She tried to get Beuce to sway with, keeping a beat in her head. "I personally hated them, and my sister tried to teach me to dance to blend in, but I never cared much for it. I managed to get her to stop trying after a handful of attempts."

The hairdresser finished with his hair and he stood up. "Thank you miss." He then turned to Ignis when she said, 'Well, I wouldn't say I've been to a lot of parties, but the ones I was, let's say "coerced", into going to, I stayed to the side, and trust me, you stay out long enough, people tend to notice.' "I alway thought my mom would teach me how to dance or at least a pretty girl that I knew well enough", he said with a shrug. "It just always seemed like no one cared enough to teach me." He was not sure what else to say so he just stood there watching Beuce and Ignis.

Steel shrugged at Aux' question. "It's not like I have much choice if I want to be in public. I do have other options, I grant you, but they all come with a con of some kind." It was then that Steel's eyes brightened as if in realization, though to those who could not see his face he sort of just... straightened his posture in what was undoubtedly an 'oh yeah' sort of manner. It seemed he had remembered something. From out of seemingly nowhere he pulled... the surfboard Aux had asked him to hold onto earlier.

"Did you still want this?"

 

Beuce did his best to keep up with Ignis. He was picking it up quickly, but still moved clumsily. The two were, however, growing in their synchronization. Less and less did he have to worry about stepping on the woman's foot. "Well AJ, this might be a good opportunity to learn something. You won't have to dance at the coronation, but it certainly wouldn't hurt to keep up appearances." The grey haired man commented to his companion.

Beuce seemed to be getting the hang of dancing, as she hadn't realized how much she wasn't having to move so awkwardly to keep her feet from being stepped on.

"Well, if you really don't want to dance, you could always try to be one of those people that goes to the party and after thinking he's hidden away try to sneak out and look around the castle." She picked up the pace with Beuce, getting more into the swing of things herself. "Though if you did that, you'd have to worry about being caught by the guards and explaining why you're wandering around the castle."

He stood there watching Beuce and Ignis dance for some time. He kept watching there feet and was watching closely. That was when Beuce said, 'Well AJ, this might be a good opportunity to learn something. You won't have to dance at the coronation, but it certainly wouldn't hurt to keep up appearances.' "I have been watching closely to try and get the general idea." He kept on watching the two dance. Then Ignis said, 'Well, if you really don't want to dance, you could always try to be one of those people that goes to the party and after thinking he's hidden away try to sneak out and look around the castle.' "That has never been a issue before. I have always gone unnoticed before. I am not sure why that would change now. As for explaining to the guards I do not think that will be much of a issue." He continued to watch the two dance when he thought he might have the general idea of the dancing thing. There was that and he was feeling more comfortable about the whole thing. "If you say dancing would be helpful then who am I to argue?" He was not happy about it but, Ignis looked like she was having fun, so how bad could it be? That said dancing was not the easiest thing in the world. There was two things he could not do or simply never tried and that was singing and dancing. He held out his gloved hand for someone to take to dance with.

Ananta watched the banter between her party members before a thought came to her head. Aux just asked for Stratos' name and she realized maybe he didn't know hers just yet. She was about to tell him when Steel brought a surf board...out of...no...where....? Ananta tilted her head in confusion. "That's odd for you to have..." she said, glancing at Steel. "I didn't know you knew how to surf."

Seconds passed and Ananta shrugged, looking to Aux. "Since you learned Stratos' name, I don't think I ever told you mine? It's uh...Ananta if you didn't know." she said. "Ananta." she repeated slowly. "It's kind of an odd name....but it's just a think they do on my world. Naming first borns after respective parent. Boy to Dad, girl to mom, etc etc."

She shrugged and put her hands behind her back, sticking the squirrel in her imaginary pocket. "Do...do they do that on other worlds...?" she asked, unsure.

Nothing out of the ordinary had occurred as they continued walking. No more animal sightings, alive or hunted, no hunter of said animal. Nothing at all. Which on the one hand was a relief, something like that could be problematic long as John Smith was around with his weapon. They had walked past a tree that had a marking which stuck out to Kel. "Hey, look at this." Kel approached the marking on the tree and the closer look reminded him of similar things back home.

 

Kaida pondered Ananta's question about doing that on other worlds and said, "I've heard other worlds do it but uh... I'm the last person to ask a question like that. We didn't have traditional mothers and fathers on my homeworld. I know the woman who gave me life but I wasn't raised as her... "daughter". And I don't know who my... "father" was. We picked our names ourselves." Kaida looked at the others and looked a bit shy, "I-I know that sounds complicated, I'm sorry. I don't really talk about my homeworld all that much. I consider Central Haven more of a home than I ever felt where I was raised."

 

Listening to Kaida speak of her own home and way of being raised made Ananta raise an eyebrow. "Well, I was raised by my Grandmother more so than my parents, if that helps. Though she wasn't my Grandmother by blood, she was just...a Sage who took me under her wing since I was born." Ananta smiled, remembering her. "Honestly, I...I didn't really know my parents that well before my world disappeared. They kind of...distanced themselves away from me. I was just a person they gave a room to in their house by the time I was 16, so...I guess I understand you, Kaida."

Ananta rubbed her arm and remembered the years of always being left in her Grandmother's care and being raised to be a Sage. That was her only dream she ever had since she could remember. In fact, she could remember a few times her 'parents' were rather negligent in raising her. She didn't want to go all into that, but the gist was spoken. It kind of hurt thinking about it.

"Yeah, I'd rather not continue this subject." she said, looking a little sad. "Makes me wish I was raised in Central Haven, too. At least then I'd have had friends."

"Could be, looks like a rune to me as well." Kel added. That connection was odd to him given that back on his world runes for magic and well, he didn't think that anyone on this world could use magic besides them. Interesting. "This could be their hunting grounds, would explain the deer." A little concerning if it turned out that they did walk right into someone else hunting grounds. Though he was curious as to what the others thought.

As the topic soon came to everyone's homeworlds and names, Stratos said, "well, I don't really know where I got my name from. Don't think my parents ever really told me why they named me Stratos of all things." The boy mulled over it a bit, though, as everyone else seemed to get a bit more sour on the topic, he decided not to bring up the topic of family much more. As Ananta bumbled about wishing she was born elsewhere, the boy said, "well, neither Steel or I are from Central Haven. Nor are most of the others for that matter, so if things went differently in your life you might miss out on the friends you'd be making now." That and it wasn't as if Central Haven was all that pleasant of a place to be now as well, but Stratos opted not to add that in.

 

Beuce chuckled as AJ finally complied to learning to Dance. He stopped the movement with Ignis. He felt comfortable that he'd gotten the hang of it enough to not look horribly out of place. Walking out of the center of the room, he gestured for the blonde boy to take his place. "Your lady awaits." He joked. Afterwards, he took a seat and crossed one leg over the other. The hairdresser next to him smiled as she watched the group of friends. "I've gotta apologize." She said to Beuce, who looked at her puzzled. "I must've gotten something wrong. It looks to me like you already have a place you belong." Beuce was surprised at this, but understood her meaning.

He was silent for a moment, and looked down at the silver ring on the finger of his right hand. "Yeah...Yeah I do." His expression darkened as he remembered the events they'd just escaped from. Who had given him the ring, and how they weren't around anymore. This didn't go unnoticed, as the woman tapped his arm to break him out of thought, making a muffled 'clink'. "I don't know what all y'all have been through. It seems like it was pretty dark. Especially from what you said, but you can't let it keep you down. Ya gotta keep your chin up and march forward, no matter what comes your way. You're a strong man, I can see it in your eyes. I know it don't mean much comin' from someone you just met...But I think you can pull through it. You've got friends like them to keep you goin'." Beuce was surprised at this sudden pep talk, but was glad for it. ​

 

"I agree, I probably wouldn't have met any of you, so I'm somewhat thankful." she said this and looked around. She glanced towards a newspaper stall that had a fashion magazine. Ananta slipped over and grabbed the magazine, handing the vendor munny and walking back to the group. "Since the blue dog isn't as dangerous as they made him out to be, I think this will be rather straight forward, don't you think?" she asked, flipping through the magazine.

"Oh this one would probably look good on you, Aux." she said, showing Aux a picture. She then returned to flipping through, looking intrigued by a few pictures. She was hoping she'd be able to find herself a new outfit idea if she kept looking through the magazine. So far, she had a few ideas, but she wasn't exactly one hundred percent on anything yet.

At this point Beuce seemed to have been content with his progress at learning the dance and passed AJ off to Ignis. She was kind of thankful that there were only the three of them, because she didn't feel like helping out many more with dancing problems. Of course, this now meant that she had to make sure her toes didn't get stepped on again.

"So, I've been wondering," She took AJ's hand and began guiding him in the steps "There's definitely something we should do while here, but what exactly is it? I mean, going to the coronation is all well and good, but we should probably do something else too."

Ignis was trying to be subtle in asking what they were going to do while at the coronation and how they were to proceed in this world exactly, but needed to word it so that the hairdresser in the room didn't get any wrong ideas about why they were there.

Stratos looked towards the blue dog, seeing that it wasn't doing anything too destructive, he nodded at Ananta's comment but said, "well, I guess we don't need to do anything about it, but we should still keep an eye on it. If not because it'll do something dangerous, but because there were people who wanted it gone in the first place. And, obvious fact here, they aren't exactly all that local, looking." He gestured towards the actual locals of the island, before saying, "so, we should probably keep it, or at least the girl it's with, safe from them. Or just figure out what there relation to the thing is and why they actually want it gone in the first place."
