When she heard Ananta's voice and tensed up as she felt the green haired girl clawing her way into this situation and it made her pissed the blonde stopped short in the middle of her walking and she turned to Ananta and said with a low voice, "Get away from me. Stop talking with me with this familiarity. We're not friends, I've made plenty of give to make you feel comfortable. But the closest I consider you is something like a co-worker." Kaida finished off her ice cream and wiped her face and threw the flower Ananta gave her back at her, "Give me space, or I'll forcefully make my own space."

Kaida began her power walk to leave when she ran herself into a taller woman that looked like a local, the woman looked a bit frantic and simply said, "Watch it." while Kaida held up her hands and apologized and backed away. The black haired woman walked her way over towards the direction of the old lady. Following her was a little girl with a red wagon filled with a bunch of randomly assorted items which kind of looked like she was preparing for a performance. And sniffing around her was... a blue dog.

In that moment, Kaida realized their target objective was here. She let out a sigh of despair and took twelve steps back over towards Ananta and said, "We'll uh... we'll talk about this later..." and she made her way back towards Stratos and Aux and said, "The coincidence fairies hath arrived..." and she pointed as casually as she could towards who she assumed was Stitch.

Stratos gave the man a look of disbelief as he tossed the ice cream to ground, saying, "really?" The boy sighed, only for the old lady to speak up once more and tell them that there was indeed a dog shelter on the island. Well, it was good to know that she didn't just tell them to go to a made up place. "Th-thanks," the boy gave the old woman a wave, his expression clearly confused and unsure how to respond to her as she walked off. Looking back to the man, he shrugged saying, "I have no idea. The only person with a map here just walked off, so you'll probably need to get on speaking terms with her first." He looked at the ice cream on the ground, "or anyone for that matter."

Soon enough, however, Kaida made her way back to the group and directed their attention to the "dog" with the girl. It was certainly different from any dog he had ever seen, and he had seen some very interesting canines in his journeys. As Aux spoke up Stratos waved the comment aside, saying, "we can't just go up and steal a girl's dog. We should at least figure out what's going on over here first." Stratos started to think about how best to approach the being they presumed to be Stitch, saying, "maybe we should go see what it is she's doing with all that stuff first?"

 

Steel shifted slightly, prompting a gasp of elation from the boy who had taken to poking and prodding at him with a stick. Convinced of his success, the boy redoubled his efforts in an attempt to replicate the effect. It was perhaps worth noting that Steel was, in fact, not with the others at all. While they all had gone into a much calmer town away from the rowdy beach, he was still standing at the boardwalk, having not moved an inch even as the crowds swarmed around him. However, the voices being projected to him from seemingly nowhere seemed to imply his companions well and truly thought he was there with them as if the island were no larger than a postage stamp.

Interesting.

 

Ananta stopped when Kaida stopped. She tilted her head, wondering what was up before she was suddenly yelled at. Kaida threw the flower Ananta got her towards the green haired girl. She caught the flower and looked down at it as Kaida demanded space with a threat. Ananta stared at the flower with wide eyes, not sure where this anger was coming from. She wanted to ask, but it was obvious that Kaida hated Ananta now, too. Her hands began to shake as she realized that maybe she messed up really bad. Kaida hated her enough to yell at her and so Ananta was stuck there. She didn't follow Kaida because of the threat but she also didn't know if going back to the others was what she should do. She was stuck, replaying over and over the words Kaida yelled to her. She started to wonder where she exactly went wrong. Did she mess up talking to her way back in Pridelands? Maybe it was before even that? Was she wrong in trusting Aux, even though he had sent everyone else to the Realm of Darkness. Ananta kept staring at the flower, trying to figure out what she was going to do. Tears welled up in her eyes before they fell and she, too, fell to her knees. "I..I'm terrible I just...I have no friends I....I don't even know...what...what happened...." she sniffled, closing her eyes. She kept repeating to herself, "It's all your fault." over and over. She heard Kaida speak to her again, sounding less angry, but that didn't help Ananta in the slightest.

Her knees buckled as she stood up, causing her to stumble a bit. She started to walk back towards the boardwalk, walking past Kaida, Stratos, and Aux. She was sobbing silently, still lost in thought on what to do. She stopped talking to herself by now, but she was still having a hard time coming back down from this panic attack. She eventually made her way back towards Steel. She waded her way through the crowd, still holding the flower Kaida threw at her. With her free hand, she grabbed Steel's arm and started to lead him away.

"F..found...i...it...." she muttered out, her voice shakey.

While the voice projection was certainly a neat and interesting trick, he honestly wondered why such a thing was even occurring. All the hurtful comments and yelling at old ladies echoed around him, but the tourists around him seemed to pay no notice. Did this always happen? How had they evaded detection so long? Well... detection from the locals anyways. Having identified the locale as Hawaii, Steel's mind went off on an entirely new, though not entirely unrelated, tangent. He had been to facsimiles of earth before, both as the Eye of Storms and as... the Hunter Magus? He'd have to work on that one. The point though was that he had a small amount of knowledge to the area's history. If memory served correctly...

 

Kaida's eyes widened when she saw Aux summon out his keyblade and she quickly grabbed it and looked him straight in the eyes and said at a hostile whisper volume, "Have you gone insane? Why are you summoning out your keyblade and looking ready to attack this thing? There's a little girl right there? Are you gonna try and hurt a little gir- actually. This is in perfect character for you I don't know why I'm confused." Kaida let go of his keyblade and said, "Put that away." she turned towards the direction of the blue alien and observed before she responded looking at Stratos, "If you wanna walk up to her and start talking, go on ahead. But I think it'd be better to wait until he's not immediately near her and swipe him then. What I'm saying is we're probably gonna be in for the long hall."

 

Yes, Hawaii. The King of tourist traps.

Mostly because the locals were just about as trapped.

Sure, most people got annoyed with tourist that traipsed through their homelands, but in Hawaii, the whole thing was just on a much higher level. The whole mixed population was annexed by America after some interesting events regarding the mixed ethnicity of the natives. After that, the Islands weren't given official statehood until nearly a century later. Since then, it had become a popular vacation spot... and most of the cultures most sacred ceremonies had been refashioned into parties for tourists to attend. America liked to ruin everything, didn't it? Though he supposed that was hardly the citizen's fault. Plus, who was to say that the tourism had been strictly on them? Other countries took vacations here too after all...

He supposed he didn't have enough of the story to judge anyone.

It was at that time that Ananta came to drag him away, muttering in a rather somber mood that the group had found their objective. The echoes had told him that, but unlike the others, he was in no rush to move on just yet. He had... something of an experiment to conduct. He stood his ground against her urgings and held up a finger in motion to wait a moment. She seemed to have been crying, but that would have to wait a moment as well.

As Kaida brought up her point about what they were to do to catch the blue dog, the boy soon saw Ananta run past, with a very dejected expression on her face. At the sight, Stratos could only, sigh wondering both what she and Kaida had actually managed to do to each other in the brief second that he left the two alone. While she seemed to be in need of consoling, she was headed in Steel's direction, and he seemed to have a much better time with her then most others did, so he decided he'd leave it up to him. Of course, he was a bit curious why she continued walking past him, until she realized that the wolf in local clothing that he had called out to earlier was actually just a regular wolf. In clothing. The boy blinked a few moments at the sight, watching as the canine seemed to be lost, before making its way away.

The boy then briefly wondered where Steel actually was, but figured that Ananta was probably going towards him through some innate sixth sense of hers, and that things would probably work out. Probably. Regardless, the boy looked back to the two he was with saying, "I suppose so. I don't really think we can just go walk up to some random girl and expect that to work out. Especially not the two of us." He pointed between him and Aux. "But we can't exactly just stalk her without both looking and feeling kind of creepy. So, let's just make sure they're in our periferae and keep seeing this tourist trap."

 

Steel you see, was incomprehensibly curious about two things: The first was whether or not a call to rise up against oppressors would rally anyone, or if he'd just get weird looks and called into the police for making a disturbance and the second was whether or not the populace even noticed him. There were hardly that many locals around, what with this being more of a tourist area, but it would do well enough for his purposes.

"People of Hawaii! Do you truly wish to remain bound by the chains of something as paltry as tourism?! Rise up with me against those who oppress you!"

...

...

Nothing.

Not a single dadgum thing. Well, with the sole exception of a blank stare from the boy who had been poking him. But other than that, not even an annoyed look.

"There's something odd going on here... I can't put my finger on it, but I get the feeling it's three capital letters, and the first one is an N..." The boy continued to stare up at him and asked in the most polite and adorable whisper possible:

"Are you some kind of evil emperor?" Steel only stared down blankly at the child for a moment before responding with:

"I'm going more for the rebel alliance." He waved a clawed paw in front of himself in a 'meh' sort of gesture. The boy seemed to think that was cool.

Smith was doing a poor job at trying to convince him that these so called Indians were a bad thing. Maybe it was because he has yet to see a single Indian and had no means to judge them or the fact that Indians did not sound like a threatening name when compared to indians. Either way his concerns were slowly turning into curiosity as he wanted to see them for himself to properly give a verdict on how they were.

 

Kaida looked to Stratos and said, "No uh. This isn't tourist trap. That last shop was. This is just a market." she knew that wasn't the most important part there. As she stood there waiting she watched as the little girl and the blue alien seemed to start... dancing? Kaida stared confused and asked, "Is... are they just... why are they...?" she didn't think this was the kind of place but maybe it was a local thing? She hadn't the slightest idea.

 

Luna listened as Kel and Aislinn gave their input on the whole 'savages' situation. She looked over at Aislinn and saw she was looking a little tense. Luna ran behind her and rubbed her shoulders a little bit. "I apologize if I'm crossing any boundaries but you were looking a little tense. I just want to help everyone relax!" She smiled before releasing her shoulders. John Smith had then spoke up, giving them a bit more information about these 'savages'. "You know...indians. Copper skin. Feathers in their hair. Black hair. Can't speak a lick of English. They used bows and arrows, and live in the wilderness. Barely colonized at all. What kind of people live like that?" Luna was slightly lost as John described the Indians. She wasn't exactly sure about the name but their way of life sounded quite interesting. Living in the wilderness didn't sound too bad. It sounded quite peaceful. John had then looked at the three. "Come to think of it, you don't really match that description. A bit too pale for a savage. I should know...I've had to fight back many in the past years." Luna looked at her skin a little bit, growing a bit self-conscious about her skin. She looked over to see John gripping his gun firmly. The way he was describing them. These Indians didn't seem too harmful. Kel had then asked for more information about them. John had revealed that they were humans with the senses of wolves. Luna was still a little concerned. Maybe he was over-exaggerating about it. She doubted that they were harmful.

Aislinn had then gave her input on it. She nodded her head as she listened to the conversation. Her curiosity was growing more and more about the Indians. She then opened her mouth. "I'm going to run on ahead!" Luna had then ran off away from the group, scouting on for anything unusual or dangerous. She inhaled the air of the woods. She smiled as she took a breath of fresh air. The woods that were around her was just so relaxing and calming. As she walked on, her eyes widened in shock. A loud scream had escaped her mouth at the sight in front of her.

"You there, sir!" Steel directed to a nearby citizen... who was no longer there. Huh.

Well, seeing as how he had no one left to experiment with, he gave the young boy some munny and muttered "Go buy yourself something sweet." before heading motioning to Ananta that he was ready to go, and the two set off.

"I don't suppose we should address the obvious signs of tears in your eyes?" He asked her. "I mean, I know what happened because of those creepy echoes, but do you actually want to talk about it, or...?" So many people on such short fuses really shouldn't be interacting so soon after the event that cut said fuses so short in the first place. Unfortunately, it wasn't as if they had much of choice right now.

Kel ducked under a low hanging branch right as Luna had run off ahead. While they may have been doubting the actually threat behind the Indians, or savages that John had grown accustomed with calling them, there had to have been some other form of wildlife here that they hasn't seen yet. He could hear the occasional bird chirping and catch a glimpse of one flying overhead. Silence had settled after Luna's advance, which left some uncertainty behind, then came the scream. A distinguished scream that only could have attributed to Luna. The first thought that ran through his mind wasn't exactly a pleasant one and was the reason why he was concerned about her going off on her own int he first place. Kel was quick to head off in the direction of the scream, hopefully arriving before something actually did happen.

 

Ananta didn't even pay attention to anything Steel had just done or talked about. She was more preoccupied with the staring at the flower in her hand. She did notice he stopped her, to which she looked up at him, looking broken. She didn't question it, she just let Steel do his own thing. Her face turned back to staring at the flower. Her hands still shook slightly, noticeable if one were to stare long enough, and she wasn't sure if she was ever going to feel alright again. She moved her head to look at Steel and began to wonder. Why was he even her friend? She always pestered people and acted like she was their friend. She was just a coworker, so why did she ever deserve to be friends? Especially since she just messed everything up and made everyone feel so uncomfortable. She never had anything to add to conversations and she always spoke about things she didn't understand or know anything about, so the idea of her even having a single friend was laughable. Kaida was right in being angry and telling her off. Ananta didn't deserve to even pretend to be happy. Perhaps they'd all be better off she just stayed on this world and never left. Maybe she should have just stayed in the Realm of Darkness, at least there, she'd be able to live like a heartless. No feelings, no worries, no need for friends. And no need to assume she was anyone's friend. Heck, she should have just succumbed to the darkness that took her own world away. At least then, she'd have been able to have known she was disappearing with people who loved her and not going on a worthless journey. A journey that gained no friendshiped or garnered any attention from anyone. She was a failure of a keyblade wielder who didn't deserve to be a Master. She couldn't even save a single person on her world. Not even a person that was as important as the one whom she was to wed. All she had from him was a ring and a promise that was broken and unable to be kept.

He motioned for her to follow, so she followed Steel, wanting to full and well ask him why he bothered to be her friend. Sure she kept his secret this entire time, but what did he benefit from being a friend to her. There was nothing she could give. She was just a nuisance who needed to be ignored and left alone. She couldn't even understand, at the time, why Karina was pushing her away. She was ignorant to her feelings and she certainly couldn't read the girl. Ananta was just bad at noticing social cues. She would never be able to make friends that way.

Steel asked her questions, and so she really thought hard about what she should say. She dared not get yelled at again. "I...I just want to know...how Kaida is doing after everything...." she started off. "I've lost family and somebody important to me as well, I...I thought I'd be able to just talk to her about it, but she........" Ananta stopped and made a face of pain. "She yelled at me to stop pestering her. I messed up by even trying to help. I messed up putting my arm around her. I'm just a cowoker to her. I thought we were at least friendlier than that, but that's all we are. I'll never be able to be her friend. Just like with Karina. I'm a pest, I can't read them, so I'll never be able to or deserve to talk to them again...I just..."

Ananta held the flower gingerly. "I just want Kaida to know I'm there for her." Ananta said this as they approached the rest of the group, loud enough that maybe Kaida heard her. Ananta noticed they were right by the rest and she immediately stopped and moved to hide back behind Steel. Maybe if she stayed hidden, Kaida wouldn't get angry.

Luna couldn't believe her eyes. The sight before her was tragic and just too shocking for words. Her face clouded over her expression with sadness. She had faintly heard footsteps as she walked over. In front of her laid a deer that had an arrow in its body. The poor creature had looked like it had passed a few minutes ago. She knelt down and laid the poor deer's head onto her lap. She stroked the fur on the deer's head as a sad look on her face passed through. Luna knew it was all part of a one big cycle of life. However, it still shook her to her core to see something like that. She shed a few tears for the poor creature. "I'm so sorry. I hope you find peace in the afterlife...." The white-haired princess kept stroking the fur on the deer's head as she wished for a peaceful after life for the deer.
