Video Game: Kingdom Hearts SOS: The Road To Light

Luna looked on as Yue and Megumi argued back and forth about Aux and the numbers for the next set of partners. She wasn't sure about the whole situation, however, the next set of partners had been listed. She looked at the list and saw a familiar name. Her next partner would be Kel! Luna looked over to her partner before making her way over. "Hey!" She waved 'Hello' to Kel before speaking again. "I'm looking forward to this! What about you?" She smiled as she waited for her partner's response.​

The back and forth between Megumi and Yue did not seem like a good thing to Kel. He didn't quite here everything that they were talking about, but was he did hear was enough to figure out what they were talking about. That was when the mission board appeared with the list of partners. Being partner with Luna wasn't a bad thing by any means. Speaking of which, he waved back at her upon noticing her approaching him. "We have to be getting close to the end of this, so let's keep up the good work." He took a quick glance at the mission board. Aux's name was still in fact up there and he didn't know how to feel about that. Perhaps it was just a temporary thing.

 

Well, Ananta was certainly not surprised that everyone had moved on. It was better that way. Especially after her royal screw up. Although, Ananta was confused about something. When the names appeared on the board, she saw her partner was Ignis. Thank goodness she could be paired with somebody that hopefully didn't hate her guts currently.

Ananta approached Ignis and looked at her. "Maybe you can clear something up. What did Kaida mean when she said Aux is the reason we're here now? I wasn't with the group for awhile, so I think I missed some things..." she admitted.​

Andrew at first could not believe what just happened but then he realized that it was more or less normal. Then Hikaru said, 'You can keep it for now.. Who knows, maybe something new will pop up that you can use.' He did not think so but you could never know. Right before that, Yue haid said something about Aux, that he was Using the credits from the players of Gwendolyn and Xara, that he was more than caught up to participate. Then there was something about Yue breaking rules.

He then saw Hikaru, walk off saying 'you want, I can try and find out where Glen is... Wait right here...' So he was just to stand around and do nothing. It seemed like Hikaru had no reaction to what he had said about Aux. That was when a mission board appeared overhead that showed all participating members and the partners. He began to walk towards the others. Then some person said, 'Glen has failed in the last portion of the exam, but your former friend shall return as soon as he's done the screening process. Until then, do prepare for the trial ahead.' He was not happy, "That is not true that Glen failed his exam, Sho attacked him." Then there is the fact that it seems like you are letting Aux back in but not Glen he thought, looking at the board with Aux's name. "What screening process? So what you are saying is Glen is in some sort of limbo? Where he cant come back but Aux can?" He said this as a question but really it was a statement. This is so stupid, he thought clearly frustrated. Really it did not matter because it seemed like Megumi could do what ever he wanted.

Ignis listened as Megumi and Yue continued to argue about how the next teams were going to form and Aux taking part in the tests. She wasn't exactly sure why they were going to continue letting him take the mark of mastery, but none of them seemed to have a say in the matter, and apparently neither did Yue, who was supposed to be the game master. It seemed to her that this Megumi really like doing things his own way.

As the names of the teams popped up, she saw that she was going to be partnered with Ananta. Probably was a good thing for Ananta, since everyone wasn't being very friendly with her at the moment for what she said earlier. Coming over to Ignis, Ananta asked about Aux and how they got there in the first place.

"We were all in Disney Town when Aux appeared and brought the world into Darkness. We tried to stop him, but he just sent us flying into a big black hole in the sky and we ended up here. Some took it worse than others." She turned her head to Hikaru and Kaida as she said that.

 

"That explains Kaida's reaction to what I said..." Ananta sighed, crossing her arms. "I was in the realm of darkness longer than they were. The fact she doesn't remember that hurts a little, but I guess when you're so infatuated with an old friend, you tend to ignore others." She whispered the last part to herself out of frustration.

"Well, if Kaida ever asks, I'll be sure to remind her I had no part when everyone got ducked into the black hole." she said, clenching her fist. Ananta was mad she wasn't able to be there. She could have done something...anything, to stop another world from plunging into darkness. It still stung when she remembered her own world's end and she did not want that to happen again.

"Ignis, I'm no good with words sometimes. I mess up a lot and say the wrong things. Please don't let that affect anything." Ananta said, almost as if begging.

Listening as Ananta talked, Ignis couldn't help but chuckle a little. She turned her head back toward Ananta and saw her fists, and couldn't help but wonder.

"So, out of curiosity, are you angry at Kaida for that punch? Or are you angry that you weren't there to help stop Aux?" She sighed a little, being reminded of herself somewhat. "If it's the former, you can either let it go and try to make up for it somehow. And if it's the latter, don't even bother thinking you could have done anything. I was the first one to go against Aux, and got beaten badly, and considering that everyone else was sent to the Realm of Darkness, they didn't fair much better. Having one more person would have just added another tally to Aux's score."

She wasn't very good with words herself, and definitely wasn't good with pep talks. The most she could do was try and say things that seemed right to her, but it wasn't always the best advice for some people.

"Oh, and don't worry about if you're worried about saying the wrong thing, at least around me. I don't take much personally, and you aren't going to please every person out there, no matter what kind of things you say. Trust me, I can tell you for a fact I made a lot of people angry with things I used to say growing up. Don't really regret it though, since all I was doing was what I knew. Some things we just have to learn through experience."

Stratos merely stood by, awaiting the next leg of their exam and unsure of what to do about all of this. While he had been strangely confident in his own abilities to get through this exam so far, every time he met up with the others, it appeared at least one or two more people were missing. Worried for their safety, especially Glen's as he had just disappeared in front of them, he was already a bit antsy. Coupled onto the fact that Aux had suddenly made a surprise, confusing, appearance left him with nothing but more questions than anything else. As he stood around, the boy caught the recording of Karina, being played which only further soured his mood. He knew that the girl definitely had some rough past to her, and hearing her as she was when she first escaped it was not something that he found any joy in. Wondering how things were going for her, Stratos didn't seem to do anything else until the groups for the next stretch of their exam were announced.

The boy's expression brightened as he saw who his partner was, thinking that it was probably the best possible partner for him. However, his expression only worsened once more as he saw that Aux was indeed taking the Mark of Mastery Exam with them. Of course, he had heard the argument between Yue and the other game master about his inclusion, but it still stung to see him working with them here. Especially given who he was working with. Looking over to Hikaru and Kaida he simply said, "good luck guys and, be safe." With that, the boy walked over to Beuce with a smile on his face saying, "ready to ace this?"

 

Kaida listened to Hikaru's reply and before she did, she acknowledged Stratos' comment and gave him a nod and a thumbs up before she turned to Hikaru and said, "How exactly would we get these kind of answers from a man who apparently only has memories up 'until he went dark'?" Kaida was silent for a bit before she looked pained and said, "Wait, you think he was thinking about this stuff even before... what even was the point he 'went dark'?" Kaida stood there and pondered it, her fingers stroking her chin as she did before saying, "Cause... iunno. His change seemed... sudden. One day we were getting a long and the next he didn't want anything to do with me... Ugh, I don't like thinking about this stuff, Hikaru. I only just came to terms with the fact Aux was the bad guy.... unless he's not?" Kaida let go of her chin and said, "What if we're the bad guys? No that's stupid. I'm pretty sure we aren't shoving people into dangerous places and killing anyone... er, anyone who didn't at least instigate the conflict first." The blonde paused before her eyes narrowed and she poked Hikaru's chest, "I blame you for making me overthink this." Kaida sighed and looked down at the ground. Her finger still pointed at Hikaru as she admitted, "I don't want to do this... only to be happy we're a trio again... Then have this finish up only for Aux to gain all those memories back and want us dead again.." Kaida's hand fell and she looked up at Hikaru again, "I feel like it'd hurt more. And if anything... I just think it'd make Aux worse..."​

 

Kaida wasn't exactly sure what Hikaru wanted to say about the Aux situation, and she had been mostly ignoring this present thing he kept pushing cause that wasn't too big a deal to her. But when she heard Aux's voice and turned around to see... well... his face again. It bothered her. It reminded her of them being thrown into darkness all over again... but this time it was awkwardly casual. Too casual. She knew why... she didn't like it. Even with Aux framing stuff from what he last remembered, it made her feel uneasy. Kaida tried her best to hide her contempt. She knew it wasn't fair. Kaida looked back at Aux, but the friendliness she used to have when looking at him was gone as she replied, "No. I failed it." her voice was cold, she hadn't meant for it to be, but it was too late to go back and change that. Kaida backed away slightly and put her hands in her pocket before she turned to Hikaru and asked quietly, "What were you talking about before?"​

Andrew turned when Megumi ignored him big surprise there, not really. He began to wonder if everyone had cotten in their ears. It did not really matter tho. That was when Aux showed up again, only this time he did not look like Hikaru he had read hair. There was so many names flying around the conversation. That was when Aislinn came up to him and said, 'Hey, I guess we will be working together this time around. Lets do our best.' He was going to say how that partnering with him so far had not gone that well, it was ether his partner was practically invisible or was Aux but he decided not to say anything. "Let us do our best Aislinn." He was not that happy with the turn of events. That was when, the board had changed the pairings into full trios. He saw the new name whelp. The only thing he knew about Ananta was that she seemed to be not that bright. He turned to Aislinn and wondered what she thought. He then turned to Megumi and decided that he liked him less then Yue and that was saying something. He looked at Aislinn and said, "I do not trust him." He said this while looking at Aux. With his luck he would end up on the same mission as him. It would after all give him the option to see what he was up to.

Andrew watched Aislinn give a nod and a smile. He then watched the reaction that Aislinn had when the board changed. It was hard to tell what the reaction was. Then Aislinn said 'I don't see why. He might be a little rude and all but he just seems confused. From what I can tell the price of doing this test was pretty high for him. I am sure he is just a little lost on this whole thing. He just needs some help along is all.' He had to remember that Aislinn was not a mission with him when he was with Aux. He was not sure what it was about Aux but he did not trust him. "He is but there seems to be more then just that." Then said nothing else on the subject. He turned to see that there was a conversation about the next worlds. "What do you think the worlds will be like and where would you like to go?"

 

Ananta watched the board change and she gritted her teeth. She was stuck with two people who she was sure hated her right now. She moved to stand next to them, but kept quiet as thoughts entered into her head on what they possibly thought of her.

She reached into her shirt and pulled out her crystal necklace. She brought it to her lips and kissed it, whispering a chant as it lit up in her hand. It wasn't bright, but it at least helped to calm her nerves a little.

 

Kaida wasn't exactly fond of Hikaru's answer, but it was better than nothing. She was confused about the recorder but she pulled it out of her pocket and looked it over before handing it over to Hikaru and saying, "Don't overwrite anything, I don't want Karina to lose anything cause of it. If you can figure out how to word it without recording, just let me know... alright?" Kaida held the recorder even further out and said, "Just... above all else, take care of yourself. Okay?" Once he held it she walked over and messed with Hikaru's hair a bit and then sighed, "Let's try and get this done, shall we?" she walked towards the world portals and pointed to one of them, Pridelands or something, and said, "How about this one?"​
