Video Game: Kingdom Hearts SOS: The Road To Light

Stratos had continued to go on his onslaught against the blotling species. As it was, there wasn't all that much that stood between him and the next of the bloticles, and for whatever reason Stratos was feeling like he could keep going on for more then he usually could, without the aid of taking turns with the others fighting here. Which was overall a good thing, because he could see that the world around them was starting to get sucked dry of its life and ink, and though there was still a good deal of time left on the clock for them to stop the bloticles, the faster they did this the better it would be. And so, Stratos turned his attention back to the blotlings to carve a swath into them.

As the blotlings came at him, he went to go strike three of the neutral elemental ones first. Spinning his keyblade, he tossed it at one of them, striking through it and then calling back his keyblade to slice straight through the other two. The three exploded into a puddle of ink, only for them to swiftly be replaced by three fire blotlings. These were just as easily dispatched of by the three hit ice combo that was Vorpal Blitz. As the were being cut through, he was then struck by something akin to a boulder, in the form of an earth blotling. As three more started to roll at him, Stratos put his guard up as the boulder like blotlings rolled into it, being sent into the air. Reacting in time to when they fell down, Stratos struck the boulder blotlings back at other enemies, causing those struck and those sent to explode into a puddle of ink. With that left, there was only three left in the immediate area, and so Stratos decided to just cast Thunder, causing the lightning to fall down onto the blotlings and destroy them. With that done, Stratos got ready to go through the next squad of blotlings.

Raisor continued his fight against the miniature blots hanging around him. The things were so obnoxiously persistent he just ended up kicking them all out of the way. If nothing else, it made for great anger management. He continued his little kicking spree, watching them all fly away in order.

"Too bad there's no a fence, then I could say I dropped kicked them over it." Raisor sighed, painfully aware of his bad joke.

Another blotling came at his and he kicked it away. This was also a good time to work on his kicks and punches, since these tiny creatures weren't much of a threat. Although there was still a large amount of them left, and they were running low on time. Raisor needed to pick up the pace, and continued his kicking spree, at twice the speed. Actually, he might as well have been shuffling his feet. He kicked a few more and they gurgled out of existence in midair, apparently taking enough abuse. Raisor got a little bored of the kicking, but he didn't feel like using his keyblade on these things. He sat down and started knocking away the blotlings as they jumped at him. It probably looked more like a comedy routine to someone else the way he was moving, but he couldn't get into it. Maybe there was another Bloticle to go after around somewhere.

As Raisor had joined in on the fray as well, it seemed that there were very few blotlings left between them and their next bloticle. And so with that in mind, Stratos was going to just power his way through these things straight to the next enemy. The only question was how does one go about doing it. He didn't feel quite as confident in his ability to just punt anything and everything out of the area quite like Raisor was, he didn't feel like going all flashy on them again, and he couldn't really use Zantetsuken again because he felt like doing something different. So instead, he just decided to use magical Zantetsuken. Creating four pillars of light around himself, Stratos launched them outward towards the blotlings and used the power of Faith to kill all of the blotlings.

After they were dealt with, he finally went onward to the next of the bloticles and noticed that it was a bit more...like ink, then the rest of the ones he had seen so far. More specifically, this one was made of pure, paint like water. Looking at the water bloticle, Stratos wasn't entirely sure what to expect from the thing, but decided that he would go and get the first strike against it. Throwing his keyblade out in a strike raid fashion, the bloticle did something completely unexpected. It moved to the side. After it had avoided the keyblade, it then lashed out with a tendril of water, which struck Stratos straight in the chest and knocked him off his feet and on to the ground. While the bloticle had dodged the intial hit of strike raid, though, it was not expecting it to go back to its owner, and thus was hit on the return trip.

Raisor got up from his sitting and watch as another Bloticle finally came into view. Well, to be more exact, he zoned in on one instead of seeing them out of the corner of his eye and ignoring them. This was seemed to be simple ink, nothing more nothing less. Though it was a little on the wavy side compared to the others. Stratos threw his keyblade at it, but apparently this one was fluid, and not in the water sense, because it dodged the attack and knocked Stratos to the ground. Raisor walked on over to Stratos and looked down at him.

"You know, you probably shouldn't be lying down on the job. We are on a sort of time limit here." He chuckled and grabbed Stratos's arm, pulling him back on his feet.

After that, the Bloticle sent out a bunch of whips at Raisor. Raisor slashed at them, but unfortunately for him, his keyblade would slice them up and at least avoid the tip of the attack. Guess it doesn't always work like some people make it seem. He began to get a little jealous, thinking about a certain someone he knew that could do it and he couldn't. Raisor was flying back through the air from the first attack when another whip came straight down at him. Raisor threw his arms above his head and flung his weight forward, cutting the air in a circle, and also somehow managing to cut the tentacle in half this time.

"Okay, that's going to get annoying if it doesn't happen regularly." He dusted off his clothes, preparing for the next attack.

After getting picked up by Raisor, Stratos chuckled and said, "sorry, just felt like taking a bit of a nap." In actuality this was really tiring, but he was in no way going to actually fall to the temptation that was sleeping in combat. So instead, he got himself ready for whatever this water bloticle would throw his way next. Letting out a deep breath, Stratos went to cast spells on himself that he was most definitely needing at the time. With the first surge of magic going through his keyblade, a green light washed over him, being the power of the cure spell. After a good bit of the damage he had taken was gotten rid of, he then needed to improve his defenses to keep him upright and healthy. With the next surge of magic, Stratos enveloped himself in the protective gust that was Aerora. Now that he was all set and ready for some good old combating action, it seemed that Raisor was in a bit of a pickle. Or a tentacle. He'd stick with the former since it didn't sound nearly as gross.

Anyway, the tentacle seemed to face the two with the next round of attacks, which wasn't just more tendril lashings. Parts of the bloticle started to swell up a bit, as they soon detached themselves from the main body into what looked like giant bubbles. Stratos looked at it for a second and realized that this looked extremely familiar but couldn't quite place his hand on why it was. Soon enough though, the bubbles were launched at the duo, and this forced Stratos to start dodging out of the way. While he managed to dodge the bubble's impact, the residual water and force from the explosion sent him back a bit. "Aqua Splash!" Stratos shouted out when he realized what it was. Shaking himself off, getting himself dryer, he then called forth lightning from the sky in order to deal some good damage to this bloticle.

Taking into accounting all the giant, monstrous thing Kel had seen as of recently, he wasn't all that phased by the appearance of the shadow blot. It looked menacing and nothing that should be taken lightly, so it still had that going for it. "Only one perishing in this fight will be you." Kel declared in response to the blot. In return, the shadow released an attack that did a fair bit of damage to them. Hikaru and D'daear were injured, Karina had gone done (which she'll probably be pissed about when she get's up) and Steel had dodge.

While that wasn't much of a surprise, it was surprising when Kel himself had dodge it. Luck must've been on his side for once. Kel then summoned forth his keyblade Starseeker. "Given it's appearance, it'd be a letdown if we didn't." The attack that the shadow used appeared to be pretty powerful, so why not fight fire with fire. Moving his keyblade to his side, Kel concentrated on it. He focused as much energy as he could before releasing it all in a strength and cherry blossom fueled attacked sent towards the shadow blot.

Kel used Zantesuken.

 

The water bloticle wasn't all that finished after it shot off its aqua splash-esque attack. Creating its tendrils once again, it lashed out at Stratos who, having just back on his feet from the aforementioned attack, was defenseless against the coming attack. Getting struck by them, he was knocked off his feet and was going to end up falling back onto the ground, if not for the fact that it then grabbed onto one of his feet with its tendril. Being dragged across the ground, Stratos was soon sent sailing through the air as the bloticle let go of him. Tumbling across the ground, Stratos was extremely glad, at times like these, that he had the forethought to put up his aerora shield, or else that might have done actually meaningful damage, (even if all damage here was subjective to begin with.)

Picking himself up, Stratos quickly tossed his keyblade at the tendril that was coming to lash at him again, severing it and causing the bloticle to shrink back in momentary pain. In retaliation, it formed the aqua splash bubbles from its body again, and shot them at Stratos in an effort to keep him down. Of course, being able to see this attack coming this time, Stratos was not going to be taken down by it again. Coating his keyblade in ice, Stratos countered the bubbles by striking them with his Vorpal Blitz command. Each slash he made across the bubble caused it to freeze, and each time it hit the ground, it merely shattered rather than exploded, reducing any splash damage that it would normally produce. Unfortunately, Vorpal Blitz only strike thrice, and aqua splash forms four bubbles. As such, Stratos took a bubble straight on and was sent flying back again.

After getting blasted back by the force of the aqua splash once again, Stratos managed to keep on his feet, simply skidding across the ground. While Stratos still had his balance, the water bloticle seemed to determined to keep on assaulting the young keyblade wielder. However, it had only used two attacks thus far, and neither really seemed too complex or unstoppable, and as such, Stratos had already pretty much gotten used to what he needed to do. As the tendrils or water formed shot out from the body of the creature, they all had seemed to come at him to just whip as per the usual. Side stepping each time one came to hit him, Stratos managed to avoid the tendrils causing them to simply slam straight into the ground instead of his body. Each time the tendril missed, Stratos then countered by slashing at them, severing them from the body and causing them to just splash down into a harmless of puddle of water.

At this point, Stratos wasn't actually sure whether or not he was fighting ink or water, but he felt as though it wasn't really all that important. What was important were the bubbles that were now flying at him, poised to blow up in his face again. However, this time Stratos knew that he just needed something that hit four times. And as it turns out, he had just the skill to do so. Creating the four pillars of light, he shot them out once more to intercept the bubbles as they came at him. When the light and water collided, the pillars quickly over took the bubbles, because even though water is often times associated with it, it can't beat the Faith! With that, four pillars struck the bloticle causing it to reel back in pain from the attack.

Raisor attacked the water Bloticle with slashes and punches and other things. Sometimes his hits went right through the thing, other times they bounced off like he was hitting skin. He wasn't sure how Stratos was doing so well, but it was kind of annoying to watch. He also watched as Stratos dealt with a bunch of bubbles going his way.

"Hey Stratos, why are you having such a hard time with those things? Just pop them." He made a finger gesture, like popping an invisible bubble.

Timing was not on Raisor's side though, because while pretending to pop the bubble, the Bloticle seemed to have a poor sense of humor and timing, because it sent out a bubbe right in front of Raisor, and he ended up popping the thing as well. The bubble blew up right in Raisor's face and messed up his hearing a little, and splashed his whole face and clothes. Luckily it wasn't a lot of water, but he hated moving around in wet clothing either way. Now he was annoying.

Raisor took his keyblade and sunk it into the Bloticle and cast his fire spell, heating up the enemy from the inside. He watched as bubbles formed and water started to boil.

"Blow me a bubble while I'm not looking huh? That'll teach you."

While Stratos was continuing to just sort of dodge around the attacks of the water bloticle, it seemed that Raisor had a comment about how he was popping these bubbles. Almost as an act of divine humor, while he was making an over simplified expression of what he needed to do, a bubble from the water bloticle had struckl him down. Having to stifle a bit of a laugh at the scenario, Stratos was soon met with divine humor of his own, as a jet of water erupted from underneath him, launching him into the air. As he was up there, the bloticle then created a tendril that slapped him back to the ground. Needless to say, it was kind of painful. Picking himself up, Stratos briefly pondered on the idea that laughing at each other's pain was probably only going to get them hit more often, so it was good to take note of.

Regardless, the fact still stood that Stratos was just hit by a completely new attack, one that he had zero idea of what its tell was. As if on cue, Stratos looked down to see that the ground underneath him seemed to have a puddle of bubbling water that quickly shot up and knocked him straight into the sky once more. As he was up in the air, now realizing what he had to do to avoid the attack, he was continually just being juggled through the air by jet after jet of water that just continued to push him around. Not really minding it, Stratos just let out a sigh as he seemed to blink away from the next jet of water, and was suddenly on the opposite side of the bloticle. As a slash mark appeared through the creature, Stratos shook his head saying, "man this guy is rude."

A little ways away, a loud snoring was heard from the white haired keyblade wielder. This was tiring, and what's the worst that could happen by sleeping in the middle of combat? i mean it was a status ailment in most things. One arm was bent to put his hand underneath his head, and the other was just a stump raised slightly as though the would-be arm were still attached to it and in the same position. Noticing his vulnerable state, the bloticle detached two of the tendrils and sent them flying through the air. They connected with one another, forming a halo above him, and a massive sphere of water formed above him, in the center. From it, a massive stream of water poured down onto the unsuspecting keyblade wielder.

Instantly sitting up and spitting out inky water, Beuce attempted to roll out of the waterfall, but it followed his every move. That was going to get annoying quickly. It also made it pretty hard to breathe. Being unable to escape it through normal means, a black fire enveloped him, and a pair of dragonic wings spread out from his back. His attire had changed to that of the long, fur rimmed robes of his black mage form. Straightening his arm, he made a grasping motion with his fingers, and a purple aura of magic spread from beneath him. As he raised his hand, the water ceased to hit the ground, and was levitated in the air as soon as it hit the point in the air his arm was equal with. With the water now collecting into something of a mass, he touched a finger to it. Nearly instantly, it began to turn to a sickly purple color, dyed with poison. "Lets see how you like it!" Using the gravity magic as propulsion, he shot the rather large sphere of poisonous water toward the bloticle.

Bloticle 4 - Walter, Will of the Ocean: 639/1000

 

After being struck by the orb of poisonous water, the bloticle seemed to become even more displeased with the group's antics. As it let out a roar, Stratos was a bit cautious as to what it would do. So far it only seemed to be taking opportunistic attacks when they were distracted from it, in quite the same a way a certain monologue interrupting behemoth might have. But if it was going to try and use its desperation moves now, Stratos had no idea what this thing might throw at them. With bubbles forming on the surface of the creature, it fired them off at the keyblade wielders, four for each. Seeing these coming, Stratos just continuously threw his keyblade at the bubbles and called it back, popping the bubbles each time it did so. So enough, the creature then retalitated by shooting water tendrils out at them, to which Stratos just was able to mostly side step. Finally, it shot a jet of a water out from underneath the feet of the wielders, but seeing this attack a few times already, Stratos managed to just roll out of the way of it.

Wait a second. Stratos looked a bit confused at the creature as a realization hit him after the barrage. It was just using the same things it had been doing this entire time. Well, that was slightly underwhelming. Sure, he was totally fine with not getting absolutely destroyed by water, but he had a certain set of expectations for these things. They had a sort of befuddling "what" quota that they had to adhere to each time they fought them, and this thing just wasn't really meeting that yet. While he was shaking his head in disappointment, a bubble of water splashed straight into him. Right, he was playing into its strengths now that he was mocking its skills. What a cunning plan this beast had had all along.

Bloticle 4 - Walter, Will of the Ocean: 589/1000

 

"You..."

The colossal beast stared down at the adventurers, not with malice but with recognition. It's massive black wings were spread wide, making it seem even bigger than what it already was. And it had such an unsettling mouth. This was truly a first for D'daear, despite having fought a monster of similar terror back in Beast's Castle. Yet this was no heartless, let alone the magnitude of its appearance. It took the young man's neck to arch back a bit in order to be staring eye to eye with the creature.

As if to make matters worse, there was something oddly familiar about this thing. The way it spoke just tugged at the D'daear's memory, yet nothing was coming up. It wouldn't be until Hikaru put the pieces together that the identity of this thing was revealed. When it had, blue irises lit up with recognition and horror.

"The Phantom Blot?! No way!" he uttered in shock. "How'd he get this big?"

Yes, the weak robed man in the monochrome world of the past had become this large thing. The same Phantom Blot who was going on and on about the past needing to stay the same, and that change was bad for business. This giant monster that towered over them was a direct result of it having escaped their encounter all those years ago. Blue Eyes trailed down to the feet of the Ink based phantom, in disbelief. The past. Future. One little mistake on their part resulted in this thing being birthed. A consequence. Way to mess up, right?

"Tch..." uttered D'daear as he called forth the keyblade and brought himself to stance. The wastelands was home to many people and now it was ruined because of them. Weren't they supposed to be helping save the worlds, not bring ruin?

The Blot laughed a mighty roar as he growled, "Best to perish with as little pain as possible..."

D'daear awoke from his thoughts a little too late as a Huge wave of INk came rushing towards the group. It smacked right into Karina, Hikaru, and D'daear, knocking Karina off her feet and onto the floor. When the rush of ink settled down, D'daear stood tall and strong, but coughing. "What was that?!" he exclaimed, taking a quick look around. Hikaru was standing, Kel and Steel had jumped to action unscathed and heading towards the Phantom Blot, and Karina...

"Karina...! shoot..." he uttered. "There goes our heavy hitter..."

He looked to Hikaru, knowing how well-versed in magic the blue haired youth was. Nodding to him, he entrusted her health to him while darting off to aid Steel and Kel. At this point he couldnt think about the past affecting the future, and its consequences. Right now he had to stay in moment if he was going to survive. Catching up, from a distance he could see Steel and Kel doing some Naruto epic fight scene stunts moment thing-----I mean----- he could see them moving quite fast, nimble with amazing acrobatic skills rivaling someone he knew. Together they laid their blades on the Phantom Blot before retreating. To his surprise, the Blot seemed.... indifferent about it. D'daear halted, shoes skidding against the earth beneath them in second thought.

Perhaps caution was their best bet? Building up power in his right hand, brows furrowed as he took the blade with both hands and swung overhead onto the ground, slaming the keyblade with everything he had. The reaction sparked a trail of burst of light to spew up from the ground which headed towards the Phantom Blot.

After having survived the all too unimpressive onslaught attacks from the water bloticle, Stratos stood at the ready to attack it once more. Spinning his keyblade in his hand, he tossed it at the bloticle, and as the blade seemed to get within range, the bloticle moved itself out of the way of the attack. Right, it knew how to dodge. That was a bit annoying. Calling his blade back to his hand, Stratos started to break into a full sprint at the thing, coating his keyblade in fire as he approached the bloticle. With blade ablaze, Stratos leaped at the bloticle, poised to strike it with his flaming key. Unfortunately, as he jumped into the air, he was soon just smacked away by a water tendril that shot out from the main body. Rolling backwards, Stratos managed to prop himself back up on his feet, clicking his tongue in annoyance at the creature managing to thwart his most underwhelming of attacks. If those two wouldn't work, then maybe a combination would.

Igniting his keyblade, Stratos tossed the flaming weapon with the power of strike raid at the bloticle. The combination of two extremely weak commands would merge their strength into one of passable damage. Surely the bloticle would be doomed if it was struck head on by this infallible plan of his. The water ink beast moved out of the way. Well, that only made sense really. Letting out a bit of a sigh, Stratos called his keyblade back to his hand. Nonchalantly thrusting it into the air, a ball of electricity formed on the tip of the blade and lightning fell from the sky. The creature seemed to be a bit shocked by the attack and was spasming a bit from the electric element. Recovering itself, though, it seemed ready to attack him once again, though it would probably be equally as underwhelming as last time, so Stratos wasn't all too worried.

Bloticle 4 - Walter, Will of the Ocean: 539/1000

 

With the water bloticle having just been zapped by a good deal of lightning, it seemed primed to do pretty much everything that it had been doing this whole time, just once again. Man, what a boring blotilce this thing turned out to be. Spinning his keyblade, Stratos wasn't even really paying attention to what this thing was doing anymore, simply because he knew just what was coming. Halfheartedly tossing his keyblade at the creature, the tendrils that were flying at him were soon cut off and turned into water as they splashed onto the ground. Calling his keyblade back, Stratos summoned his own bubbles of water to block against the aqua splash attack of the giant water bloticle. As the bubbles collided, their explosion caused an extremely brief, momentary rain fall on the area.

Casually walking away from where he was standing, the jet of water that was forming under him shot upward, not hitting anything. As it turned out, the water jet attack was pretty easily visible when you paid a slight bit of attention to your surroundings. It also turned out to take a great deal of time to actually fire upward when it revealed itself, quite like a trap that took an unreasonably long time to prime before exploding. Stratos looked to the bloticle as he effortlessly thwarted its attacks and took a second to see something off about it. It seemed frustrated, but less like someone gradually getting more annoyed and more like a kid throwing a tantrum. As such, Stratos realized that the reason it was pretty easy to beat back everything of this bloticle was because...this was all it was really capable of doing. Ah well, this fight wasn't going to last much longer anyway, so that wasn't much of a problem.

After a quick Osmose, Beuce reverted from his black mage form because that got boring fast when just about all the commands one could attain were physical in nature. They seemed to be carving through this bloticle much faster than the others. In fact, it was almost like everything they did was doing exactly twice the amount of damage. Funny how that worked. If they kept this up, it'd be at its desperation move soon. That had the potential to be really bad for them unless they just gained the ability to not need to breathe. Not need to breathe...Huh...Hm...Yes that's good. Beuce nodded and grinned as he wished there were an idea to go along with these gestures.

The bloticle seemed more or less completely preoccupied with Stratos for the moment. Maybe it sensed its impending doom from him, as Stratos was the madman who destroyed a thousand behemoths with nothing but a toothpick and a bag of funions, or so the legend went. He looked at Stratos and his epic showdown with the bloticle and came to a sudden realization. He could not be weak for all the life that try so hard to live. He was giving all his best so that's what he should give. Even if his whole entire body breaks to bits while both h- His hand carries the blade of dreams. Face the setting sun with a steely heart, just close your eyes. Let the winds of courage touch on every soldier here! ENGRAVE IT! Write all the causes you're fighting for! WE GOTTA FIRE! However fire was weak to water, so he instead decided to cast a thunder spell at it.
