Kingdom Hearts Short Story: Riku's First Haircut

"NUUUUUU!!! Mom, no! Come oonnn mom, I don't have to have one!" riku shouted to his mother. he was on his window-seat bed, in tears, talking to his mom.

"Riku, i can't believe you're behaving like this! you're seventeen years old, and you've never had a haircut! Your hair is dangerously too long! when you rode your bike home tiday, I saw some boys checking you out." Riku facepalmed.

"Plus, with all that 'Keybearing' you've been doing lately, which I still don't approve of, I'm worried your hair will get caught on your keyblade and you'll hurt your head!" Riku shoved his face into a pillow and sighed angrily.

His mother was the overprotective, not exactly what you'd call "loving" type.

"G,night, mommy, I love you!" Sora hugged his mom and ran off to his bed. His mother, on the other hand, was one of the greatest mothers in the world, so loving, and sweet, like a TV mom only better. Sora loved his mom so extremely much. Though he was 15, he still called his mom "mommy" or "mama", because he liked to act like a child, and try not to grow up as much as possible.

His Razr rang. "Yeah?" he answered, after dancing to his ringtone "Numa Numa" for about 7 seconds. he sat down on his window-seat sofa-bed, a sort of custom that almost every Islander had. Despite his name, meaning "Sky" Sora had a connection to water, which is why he liked looking out the window so much. he had a perfect view of the ocean.

Sora had a birthmark on his leg that he wasn't sure of what it looked like. At times, he said it looked like a cloud. Other times, he said it looked like a pool or puddle of water. Sometimes he said it looked like mist. He was staring at it as he listened to Riku on his cellphone.

"Mhm. Mhm." Sora nodded, not actually listening to Riku. "Sora, are you even listening to me?!" Riku shouted, after hearing Sora say "mhm." for the umpteenth time.

"Hey, not so loud, dude! You were saying something about sheep, right?" Sora smiled, hoping his answer was the correct one.

Riku sighed. "Sora..." "Listen, Riku, I'm tired. Can we talk tomorrow at school?" Riku hung up. Sora was used to this, as it happened often when he said that. It meant "Ok, ttyl" in Riku terms.

Riku got on his bike and rode to school. Sora walked, since he didnt live to far away from the school.

More boys whistled as Riku rode by. He muttered a certain four letter word that starts with "F" and rode faster. When he got to school, he met up with Sora.

"Hey, Riku... So what were you talking about last night?" Sora asked, while they were at their lockers. "My mom's making me get a haircut." Sora gasped.

"But, Riku! You can cut your hair! It loks so awesome right now!" Sora protested. "Yeah, that's what I said! But my mom went all 'danger' on me, and now I HAVE to get one. Tomorrow, I'll look like a total laughingstock. You can't have hair this sexy color if it's not long! It's unheard of!"

Sora waved goodbye as the bell rang to get to class.

"Mom, NO!NO!NONONONONO!!! Cmon, mom, be reasonable!" Riku was being pushed into the chair. "Riku, you have to get one! Now come on, cooperate! You're making me look bad." Riku stuck his tongue out at his mom as he sat quietly. The haircutter said "This won't hurt a bit" as Riku rolled his eyes. Like I don't already know that. He thought. The haircuuter put some headphones over Riku's ears, and Riku smiled. The last thing he heard was "Yes, Shampoo, as well".

He was imediately blasted with a recording of the 06 Emmys beginning where Madonna sung "Hung Up". Strangely, Riku could actually see the recording in his head whenever he closed his eyes...

"I guess, it wasn't so bad, but I still say that guy was the Demon Barber of "D" Street" Riku told Sora later that day, as they went to the mall with Kairi. he showed them a picture of his hair before the cut, and after, that looked a little like this:

I liked the story. Have to say: NICE WORK!!! :D I totally relate to the whole 'dread the scissors' thing. I HATE HAIRCUTS!!!!
