Kingdom Hearts: SfE Part 2 - The Final Keyhole and the Mark of Mastery

"Gex, please... his darkness hurts, it needs to be controlled. So what are you gonna do, Hero? Its the darkness speaking, don't listen to that!" with a lack of comebacks, the disease upon the heart settled slightly. This didn't stop the almost painful looking pulses of the heart. "I can't be harbored in a light body. Because I would DIE. But you can make a dark body for me and control his darkness... right? You have to."
Kenna stared at the heart, unable to comprehend the emotions conflicting within it. "I think whatever happened while I was out was important. Bad observation, but bottom line is she needs help."

 

"A dark body?" Gexln echoed. He closed his eyes in concentration. "Shouldn't be...TOO difficult but..the theory is all there but..would it work?" he asked, thinking out loud. He focused greatly as a small smirk appeare on his face, remembering a game Glen had played as a child, pretending they could summon powerful, evil creatures. He repeated a phrase he had used often, but modified it slightly, all the while crafting a body of pure darkness next to the heart.

"Creatues of both near and far, a being beckons you that has no heart. Hear me now, acknowledge my plight, come to me now, creatures dark as night!" Gexln said. In a few moments, a body comprised of pure darkness was laying on the ground next to the diseased heart. Gexln let out the breath he had been holding in, satisfied that the body would do. However, he couldn't resist saying one more thing to the heart. "Keep insulting me like that and i'm going to lock you inside a dark hole, and you won't be coming out until i figure out how to get Eden back" he threatened.

OOC: Coulda gone on for ages with that whole chant/summoning thing XD but i got lazy :P

 

With a slight push and a roll, the heart clinked into it's new body. Being absorbed, the body almost melted and faded away. The disease was again too much. So as a being of darkness, the Earthling didn't have much choice but allow the body to descend into a shadow, attaching itself to Gexln's body. The darkness he controlled flowed through her, and whatever disgusting disease she had was being flushed away. "I'm sorry Gex, I had no choice. None of that horrid stuff was me talking..." Her form quivered at the hurtful phrases that made him yell at her. "Now that I'm attached to you, your darkness will be keeping me alive right now. To keep the his darkness away. This is the only way I can live until we can get that corruption out."
Kenna watched the events before her, amazed and slightly baffled. Her mild curiosity led her to step on the shadow form, only to receive no response in terms of registering pain. "Well, she can't feel at least.... comes with being I shadow, I guess."

 

Gexln said nothing to indicate he accepted the apology. He kept his eyes closed as he asked, "so how do we get the corruption out?"

 

"Just keep your darkness flowing through me, and I'll be a lot more stable than before." Eden hummed, though her voice sounded winded, tired from combating her illness.
Kenna walked out into the bamboo grove, pushing away the reeds and stalks. "Wow...." she mused.

 

"Shouldn't be too difficult" Gexln said. He followed Kenna.

 

"Gexln, we are in the land of Dragons. There are some um... not really any dragons here for the most part. Military camp, mountains, a palace for the emperor... Not very important. I know most of these worlds very well." Eden backtracked within her mind, her old days slightly fuzzy from the time away from home and amount of new memories trying to keep it away.

 

"If there are no dragons here then why call it the Land of Dragons?" Gexln asked as he walked. Without waiting for a response, he continued. "Sora seems to run into alot of important people, right?" he questioned.

 

"Well, there's one dragon that's so pathetic you could knock him away with your foot.... But as for important people, the Emporer of China is the best guess, next to Mulan." Eden recalled forth more memories, assisting Gex in any way possible.

 

Namine stumbled onto her feet. "Hooves are hard to stand with..."
"Ugh," Jeffrey groaned, getting back onto his paws. "It looks like we're far enough from the fire, for now." He turned his head towards Pride Rock. "Sora and Kairi are there, right?"

 

The group nodded, staring to make their way.

Upon arriving at Pride Rock, the group was bombarded by Sora pouncing on Riku. "There you guys are! C'mon, I have a really bad feeling. We can come back later, right? Oh, can we please go?"Sora asked. "Uh...sure?"Riku was confused. Sora nodded, getting off of Riku. The gummi ship hovered over the group and 'beamed' them back on board.

Chester was nudging the walkie talkie, catching Valerie's attention. "What is he doing with that?"Roxas asked. "Maybe we got a call...?"Kurix suggested. "It doesn't work like that..."Sora and Riku said at once, Sora holding Kisa in his arms.

 

"Wonder if the emperor would know where Sora is.." Gexln said, voice trailing off. He looked at the horizon. "Which way to the emperor?" he questioned.

 

"Well, someone must have used it," Jeffrey commented, shrugging. "Why else would he be nudging it like that?"

 

"I got it!"Sora took the walkie talkie before Riku could grab it. "Hello, Sora speaking~"He said playfully into the walkie talkie. "Sora, give me that."Riku huffed. "No. get your own walkie talkie."Sora said. "Yay, Sora's showing his playful side again."Valerie applauded. Roxas just rolled his eyes while Kurix gave a small chuckle.

 

Gexln heard the walkie talkie. After a few moments, he realised who it was that was speaking. He quickly pulled out the walkie talkie and his first reaction was the one he went with. "Sora you ****ing ****, where the **** have you been?! EDEN DIED! Well..kinda. She's here but, not here? Anyway, you're the new master" he said.

 

"Sw-wait, what?!"Sora was confused. The group was shocked at the sudden news. "What did you two DO?!"Riku snatched the walkie talkie from Sora.

 

"Filled buckets" Gexln replied with a slight laugh.

"Well Xehanort is a bit tougher than we thought..i barely escaped..even in Dark Form" Gexln said sadly. He looked down at his feet, even though he was speaking verbally to Sora. "I..was too weak" he stated.

 

"Don't blame yourself. Xehanort is too strong at this point. we need to find a way to weaken him."Sora said. "Where are you guys?"Riku asked. Valerie was holding Chester, giving it some orange peel as she ate the fruit.

 

Within the bright light that casted Gexln's true shadow, Eden's own put a hand on his shoulder. A slight depression of her hand mark was on the left shoulder, in a slight way to comfort him. "You weren't weak... We just realized we were outmatched too late. If anything, the fault is mine for thinking we could take him on."
Kenna watched the actions of the shadows, amazed by their fluid movements.

 

"They tried to fight Xehanort on their own?" Jeffrey asked. "Those idiots... of course, they were going to lose. Sora and the others had enough trouble with half of him, let alone the real deal."
