Kingdom Hearts: SfE Part 2 - The Final Keyhole and the Mark of Mastery

Eden looked at Eden with...could it be? Respect. Such a selfless goal...could i ever do something like that? he wondered.

 

"You do realize how selfish a goal this is, child?" Yen Sid softly questioned.
"Sir, maybe when I am more fit for the job I will take the title and become the Peacekeeper of the Worlds... but I am too young, and just wish to return home." Eden sighed, glancing at Gexln.
"Now for you..." The Great Sorcerer shifted his attention to Gexln. "What is your goal?"

 

Gexln looked down at his feet, suddenly unsure of himself. After a few moments, he looked Yen Sid in the eyes. "Well..sir....what i want is..my heart. I've wanted it ever since i became a Nobody..and though at times i thought i didn't need it, i realise now that i do. I need it so i can be stronger, because my goal is to be the strongest being to ever exist" he said, determination shown clearly in his voice.

 

Eden nervously watched Yen Sid's expression, as he seemed to have a slightly perplexed look about him. "I see... Power isn't everything. And I would hope that you do achieve your heart in the near future." he hummed. "But from what I understand from all of you, the two most powerful has been out-shined by motives and your... so-to-speak, hearts." he glanced at each Wielder, almost smiling at their nervousness and eagerness to finally hear who The Master Wielder was.

 

Gexln nodded. There was an air of power around Yen Sid, and despite doubting Yen Sid would harm him, Gexln couldn't help but feel a slight urge to turn tail and run whenever he spoke. He wasn't used to it, so he sat still and kept his eyes on Yen Sid, awaiting the decision of who would be the Keyblade Master.

 

Yen Sid slightly had a grin about him, slightly smug, but softened. " I understand the need for power, but Power can only come to those who understand The Strength within you. Maybe our new Master will help you find your heart." he stared at the three remaining Wielders, focusing on Sora for a moment.

 

"M-Master..? Singular?"Sora couldn't help but inquire. "You mean...only one of us passed?"Riku suggested, frowning slightly.

 

"Yes. But all of you will have another chance in the future. The Master of the Key must either pass on or disown their title in order for a New Master to take their place. " Yen Sid continued. He stared at Sora for a moment, curious. "What is your goal? I would assume it is for the light."

 

"Well, the King gave us a mission. After hearing about Terra, Aqua... Ventus... I want to make things right. I want to free Aqua from the realm of darkness, give Ventus his heart back. Save Terra from Xehanorts clutches. I want to reunite them, give them a second chance. Defeat Xehanort once and for all.... Hopefully."Sora blushed slightly at his explanation. "Its not much but... I want to make things right for everyone if I can."he said.

 

"And yet will you be able to handle the fate of the worlds with a family to look after?" Yen Sid questioned, remembering the small child. "So it is between you two. The one who wishes to help others and save the worlds, and the other who wants to save the lives of familiars, and then possibly coming back." He sighed heavily, carefully viewing the two. Eden was looking away, already believing she had failed. "Sora, I believe at the moment, that you are preoccupied. For the worlds, the Master of the Key must be just and fair, unbiased by all means. Do you understand that?"
The Wielder of Earth perked up at that, staring at Yen Sid. That is my life! I could do that much better than he can!

 

"Yes Master Yen Sid. I know that a master must be unbiased."Sora nodded, a gentle smile even if he doubted his chance of winning. Riku had an understanding look on his face, grabbing Sora's hand unintentionally.

OOC:Here we go.... *is feeling nervous just TYPING everything*

 

Yen Sid slowly thought over this. "After much thinking, and yes your motives are very valid... But the universe needs a good mediator for the worlds... and with what your life is full of, a heart that houses many souls, and a child... To be a Wielder now might not be in your best interest."

 

Sora opened his mouth to protest, but stopped. "I-I understand...."He gave a slight nod. But...with Roxas out the only person in my heart is Ventus...right? Riku held in a growl, earning a jab with Sora's elbow. "So that means Eden 'earns' it...?"Riku was trying not to sound angry. All because Sora would be too busy with Kisa?! what kind of excuse is that!?

 

"Keep in mind Riku, Eden is going to disown her title once her goal is achieved. You all will have another chance." Yen Sid smiled softly a bit to his pupils. Standing up, the whispers and invisible words silenced themselves. "The New Keyblade Master is to be the Wielder of Earth, Eden. If she is to pass on or disown the title, you are all able to come again once that happens."
The new Master of the Key stood up, nervously biting her lip as she summoned the King's Kingdom Key.

 

As much as Sora wasn't completely faithful in Yen Sids decision, he honored it either way. "Congradulations..."He held out his hand to Eden for a handshake. Now what? She goes off to fight Xehanort right off the bat while we get sent home? Ugh.... Riku got up. "Congrats..."He said, but definately didn't sound like he cared.

 

"Congratulations, Eden" Gexln said. He looked down at the Shadow Keyblade, which he still had in his left hand. I'll get my heart. With or without the title, i'm going to get it. And when i do... he thought to himself. He looked straight at Sora. You are going to find out just what crossing a wielder of darkness means he thought bitterly.

 

Eden stared at Riku, looking at Yen Sid. "Can you teach me how to heal?" Yen Sid nodded.
"Focus on the subject, and then think of their wound. Then I hope you understand the rest." While her face was somewhat confused, his had an almost sly quirk to it.
"Curaga." She breathed, the keyblade shifting into a darker, pentacle shape, composed of metal vines and earth, fire, water, air... A healing pulse green light went through the room, and the injured humans were healed. All the burn marks remained as heavy scars, however.

 

Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer still Gexln thought to himself. He closed his eyes in thought. "So where next?" he asked, still not opening his eyes.

 

Sora shook off the feeling of his wounds healed, glad to have the pain in his sides gone. Riku was used to scars at this point, tolerating pain. "Well, since you two want to get things done so quickly- you can do anything really. Go and face Xehanort now if you want to."Riku said.

 

Eden breathed a bit heavily from that healing spell, but recovered. "I would never go and take Xehanort alone. It'd be suicidal." she dismissed the Key, looking at Yen Sid. "Master, I want you to do me a favor. I would like you to provide a gummi. For Sora and the others. Gexln stays with me. They will be heading to someplace safe. I wouldn't want a child near the darkness, or their parents away from the child."
"As a parting gift to our new Master, then yes." Yen Sid nodded, looking at Sora and Riku. "But first, I think you need to tell them something."
She looked up to the Sorcerer's face, then back at Sora and Riku. "I..." She nervously walked in front of the two, gaze averted. "I'm sorry I threatened to kill you... It was to beat you verbally down. I would never be able to kill anyone myself." she huffed. "And Sora... Good luck with the baby. And please, live a normal life. Bad enough I can't."
