Kingdom Hearts: SfE Part 2 - The Final Keyhole and the Mark of Mastery

"Alright! Now to get everyone back to the mainland.... we might need more boats..."Selphie took a look to the docks. "Or make a few return trips."Irvine shrugged. Residents were already starting to head to the boats, Valerie...trying her best to organize the chaos. "Oh honey, you must be exhausted." "What were you thinking?" "Mom, dad..."Sora was being scolded by his parents, blushing slightly.

"You are definately seeing a doctor when we go to the mainland." "Oh, I sure hope the childs alright." "the baby's fine, mom..."Sora sighed when his parents took him to the boats. Riku watched the family, going over to his mom "You were amazing out there.... Just try to be more careful...." "Of course, mom..."

Valerie looked over, watching Sora and Riku with their parents. she gave a sad smile, heading to the island with the paopu tree.

 

Eden chuckled loosely at Gexln, but tried to help Valerie organize as well. She didn't quite hear the comments about family members the same way Valerie had. It made her heart hurt, making her wince. She wanted to go home so badly... but being a Keyblade wielder, and the tiniest spark of anger, she'd have to leave Earth or else she'd bring everything she loved to it's knees.

 

Valerie had sneaked to the paopu tree, looking out to the ocean. Once the boats were full they departed, people willing to make a return trip for the people that were left leading the boats. "Well, there went our two heroes..."Selphie watched Sora and Riku go off on the boats. "Rikus gonna be comin' back, Selph."Irvine said.

 

Jeffrey walked up the stairs leading to the bridge. He walked across to the island and sat down next to Valerie on the paopu tree. "Well, we're back to where we were before that happened."

 

"I don't even remember, man... But then again I do have a memory like a goldfish sometimes."Valerie sighed. They had been out for so long in the night the sun was starting to rise. "Waaah...sunrises and sunsets must be so pretty in places like this..."she sighed.

 

Gexln walked over to the cool, calm water. He sat down there and just put his feet in there, shoes on still. "Such a peaceful place now, it disgusts me" he said quietly.

 

"Yeah," Jeffrey replied, watching the sun start to come over the horizon. "I bet you can see it reflected all across the water."

 

"Why do Celestia and Luna have to have such pretty things."Valerie groaned. She realized the paopu fruit she had was still left on the tree, taking a bite out of it. "Holy cow, it's sweet."she was in awe of how sweet it was.

Riku had come back with the rest of the boats, loading the rest of the residents. He saw Valerie and Jeffrey on the island, giving a small huff. Those two...

 

Eden sat by Gexln, sighing. "I loved beaches... But I never imagined things to be like this. I'm starting to really dislike this group, because more then anything they don't understand how drastic everything is." she bitterly looked at her scarred hands from the possible hundreds of scratches that came either from heartless of herself. She slumped over slightly, huffing at the amount of things she wished she could have. "I wish I had something to keep close. My memory is bad, and I don't want to fo--" she paused, replaying the words in her head. "Sorry, all this emotion, must be foreign to you..."

 

Gexln looked at Eden. "True emotion, i have no idea what it's like. But, sometimes i'm convinced i do. Sometimes, it's almost like i CAN feel..so it's not entirely foreign. I'm..well i guess starting to dislike them would be an understatement. I've never really felt close, or trusted, anybody. Guess it comes with being a Nobody" he said.

 

Riku was watching Eden and Gexln, sitting down on the sand. There were only three people in the group who took things seriously...well, four. Sora and Kairi had their moments when they took things seriously. He listened in to their conversation, taking a small breath to relax.

 

Eden shrugged. "Maybe, or maybe you don't like to interact. Not much of a social butterfly, just an overseer." she sighed deeply, rubbing her forehead with a look of deep pain. "I just wish none of this happened. I really do. It seems like fun, but it really isn't. And if you're chosen for something big, you can't come back home. Never."

 

Gexln laughed quietly. "I prefer to fight rather than chat, but it does get a little tiring, just fighting all the time. Death after death after death, so much bloodshed, it's great sometimes but other times i'd just rather...be peaceful i guess. And, being a Nobody, you seem to be forgetting i don't really have a home" he stated, staring at the horizon.

 

Riku wanted to protest, but stayed silent. The heartless pretty much left Destiny Islands alone, he could come home whenever he wanted to. But for now, he had a mission. To eliminate the heartless and make sure they never came back. He didn't want Eden to think she could never come back home. He didn't want a family without a child or a child without a family... Riku looked out to the ocean, making a promise to himself to make sure that by the end of their journey the keyblade would never be needed again....

 

"You could always get your heart back, you know... I would help." The gaze of Earth's Wielder seemed distant at that, watching the sun rise. She sighed, thinking of people who had died. "Like the Lonely Gods.... Some are the true Oncoming Storm though.. Heh, everything we touch dies. And we can't do a thing about it."

 

"Getting my heart back? Then i'd cease to exist. Though..i guess i'd be whole..but still, i don't even know how i'd go about doing that.." his voice trailed off with a small hint of sadness.

 

"Trust me, you'd never cease to exist. Few nobodies become complete, you'd be very lucky." Eden sounded sad at that too. She looked at him, a small pokerface cloaked in sadness. "It's better to feel something, rather then feel empty all the time. I've never known to have a nobody, and even I know what's it' like to be empty."

 

Valerie was looking over to Eden and Gexln after taking a bit of the paopu, giving a small sigh. "They really don't like us at this point. I just know it..."she fell back onto the tree. "Its just like my school. People always scolded me for being immature. Always making fun of me because of how I looked. Or because of my dirty habbits that I've long since given up. The only reason I'd want to come home after this would be to take family and friends here..."she sighed, leaning against the tree. "I do miss them though..."she said.

Riku was glad at this moment of peace, looking to the boats. Everyone else had left, leaving behind not many boats. But it was enough to fit the five of them. He wanted to have this moment of relaxation, a nice quiet moment before heading back to the mainland and fixing up the town.

 

"Lucky? I guess...well if the chance arises i'll probably do it, but until then i'll just be driftwood" Gexln stated.

 

Eden nodded. "And I will keep my eye on you." She scooted closer to him, shivering a bit. "But funny enough, though I use fire, I'm still as cold as ice." she sneezed, small, but surprising.
