Kingdom Hearts: SfE Part 2 - The Final Keyhole and the Mark of Mastery

"Yes mam..."Sora and Riku said at once. Valerie gave a small pout, starting to get impatient. "what are we waiting for then? We're already at the place we think the keyholes going to be at..."she huffed. "It's not that easy. We have to figure out which part of the country we're in, what direction the keyhole could be, if there are any heartless."Riku sighed. "and there has been and Extreeeeme lack of heartless. It was good at first, but now it's just making me uneasy."Sora frowned.

 

Eden started off ahead, looking around the cars. All seemed unlocked, and so she did something she knew she wouldn't do normally, was go through a few and check for weapons and crowbars. "Nothing good. Oh well." She sighed, though a glint caught her eye. Something sparkling... Metal.

 

"ooooh~ Shiny~"Valerie saw the glimmer too, trying to resist curiousity. Sora and Riku were sticking together, Riku being a bit over protective of the brunette.

 

"Shadow, watch Andrew." Eden went forward, noticing it was just a hubcap... with a poster next to it. It was in spanish, but she could decipher after a little bit of re-reading. Her forehead furrowed in annoyance as some words weren't familiar.

 

Riku kept an eye on Andrew while Valerie looked over to Eden. "Can you understand what it says?"Valerie asked. Sora took the time to do a bit of exploring himself, making sure to stay in vidual distance of the group.

 

"Ayuda... Los? No, wait, that's nos... Help us..." Eden studied it further, trying to make sure she was reading it right. "Take... Sacar? So... Help Us... Take us? Looks like someone drew a helipad really quickly too. Some evacuated."

 

"So basically everyone tried to get out as fast as they could when the heartless arrived. Those that got left behind might've become Heartless or might be out there still... If we can seal the last keyhole then that'll drastically lowere the heartless population."Riku said. "Yeah...what?"Valerie wasn't paying much attention. "Basically if we seal the last keyhole we can save the survivors by killing off most of the heartless."Sora said.

 

Eden looked around muttering about her Tia. "Must've gotten out early." She headed down the street to find more of the similar signed with bright, vibrant shiny cloths attached. "To attract human attention." she told herself. Going forward again, she surveyed the area. Stores, normal, apartment buildings in orderly fashion, and one slightly larger building of apartments. "Let's go in."

 

"Okee dokee, Loki."Valerie was the first one inside, Sora following. Riku sighed, staying outside. "I'll keep lookout for any Heartless."he said.

 

Eden walked around, finding signs of unlocked doors and some strewn about clothes. A few she made a face at, as though trying to painfully bring back a memory about something. "Yeah, they left in a hurry."

 

"Wow.... The heartless work fast..."Valerie took a look around. Sora saw the scene, a hand over his stomach in concern. "Now I'm really worried.... The heartless might still be around..."he frowned.

 

"I seriously despise heartless. I dont even care how cute they are, I hate their entire dark entitys" Ellen growled out. It was all the heartless fault that her life was turned upside down for the woest. Her parents were most likely dead and her best friends trying to suvive or dead as well. It made her eyes sting and anger boil in her chest, but she pushed those harsh emotions away. Thats what the darkness wants.

 

Eden glanced back to Ellen, putting a hand on her shoulder. "Dear, the Heartless are not truly evil here. Yes, I know what they do hurts others, but still, the Heartless aren't evil. Darkness isn't evil either. So I want you to spit out those ideas before it clouds your mind with more hate and darkness then you realize."

 

"Besides. Not ALL heartless are evil. I remember those heartless that looked like gumball machines. They gave away synthesis items like that!"Sora snapped. "There was also the ones that....had a stange liking to being in the air. and then the White Mushrooms. They were just so cute! and they gave you something in return if you played their game of magic charades."Sora smiled at the memory. "aw, it'd be great to run into one of those."Valerie smiled.

 

Ellen stared at Eden and thought of what she said. It was ture, not all darkness was evil. The younger brunette nodded. Taking a deep breath she planned on coming up with a new theory why all this chaos happened. "Right. Thanks Eden,." She gave a smile. "Now for our keyhole."

 

"Well, it's obviously not here."Sora sighed. "So does that mean we split up now?"Valerie asked. Sora just rolled his eyes at the girls impatience.

 

Eden sighed, looking around still. "Nothing here... Nothing at all..." She sighed, unsure what to do.

 

"Well, lets get out of here. This place is giving me the creeps..."Sora frowned. Valerie sighed, already heading out of the building. "I didn't mean alone! Come back here!"Sora followed after Valerie.

 

Ellen gave one more glance around the place and followed suit. "My guess from our expeirences, the keyholes are usually where famous places are or important. Something where the true spirit of the place is." Ellen suggested with hope. She knew little to nothing of this place, she had grown up far from here. China was okay, she knew a lot on china... but here.

 

Eden bit her lip. "Sometimes light blinds us, and the dark makes us stronger... The darkness is full of 'scary' things... but it's not scary if--" Hearing a slight scuff on the floors, black ill darkness started to seep around them, heartless were realizing fresh hearts were on the menu. They looked a lot thinner for just shadows, and a lot hungrier. They had grown tired of their old master, depriving them of all the hearts they desired to survive.
