Kingdom Hearts: SfE Part 2 - The Final Keyhole and the Mark of Mastery

Eden sighed. It was true, but then they'd have to be ready for anything. "Alright, allow a corridor."

 

"I hope your right..."Sora sniffled. The baby gave a rough kick at the hug, wanting some affection as well. Sora gasped at the rough kick. "Well, you being calm didn't last..."he chuckled, a hand on his stomach.

Riku sighed, rolling his eyes at the girl. "Alright, we'll take the easy route...""Yaaaaaaay~"Valerie was glad to take the easy way.

 

"You've gotta say please" Gexln said, clearly sarcastic as he rolled his eyes.

 

"Pweeeeeeease?"Valerie put on her cutest voice possible. "Please..."Riku said politely.

 

"And people say i can't pick up on sarcasm" Gexln said, rolling his eyes yet again. He held out a palm and opened a dark corridor. "Off you go" he said.

 

"Lets do this!"Valerie immediately went through the dark corridor. This is it.... Riku went into the dark corridor, ready for anything.

 

Eden decided to have control, and immeadietly regretted the icy chill of the dark corridors. "Oh wow..." she muttered, seeing her own breath.

 

Walking through the dark corridor, Gexln froze in the corridor itself. A cold chill went down his spine as he realised something. He cursed. "I've been a fool. Dark corridors, being used in a land corrupted by darkness, plagued with dark sludge. All this darkness..." he said. After a moments silence, he continued. "Do all of you not see? Heartless are born when a heart is taken, and they are created INSIDE of darkness! All this darkness, combined with the hearts of the people inside of it, is just going to draw them here! We have to g-" he froze once more, looking to his left. He saw a shadow. Not the strongest of heartless, but often the first of many. "They're here. Make your choice. Stand and fight, or get out now" Gexln said grimly.

 

"I vouch we get out to the other side as fast as possible. I will keep them away. Gexln, you take Valerie and Kairi to the Keyhole, I'll watch your backs." Eden glared at the heartless, sparks flickering into flame.

 

Gexln's blade was at the ready, its wielder ready to slay anything in his path. "Alright. Follow me, i'll cut down whatever tries to stop us" Gexln said, grim determination set in his eyes as he dashed off towards the exit.

 

Valerie immediately rushed to follow Gexln, going on in a mantra of "OhmyLuna, OhmyLuna, OhmyLuna..." "C'mon! Take 'em out! They're shadows! ha!"Riku was a bit overexcited now.

Sora was starting to relax, looking at the small shadow Valerie dubbed 'Chester'. So far the only violence it showed was when hit bit Sora. The creature was suprisingly docile, which made Sora uneasy. What if it's trying to lure us into a trap if we take it in... What if it's actually docile.... Sora was starting to debate over whether to let the heartless go, take it in like Valerie wanted, or to slay the beast like it's brethren.

 

Eden did not slay the heartless so much as burn them back into the darkness, overexerting her pyro abilities. Stepping back, as to be close to the group, but making sure her flames were strong.

 

Riku was definately pumped, making remarks and antagonizing the heartless...or trying to since he was back in his haven. He definately was spending too much time with Sora....

 

Eden growled as one tried to snap close, in return, she ignited herself whole. Once more she was in that blissful state of not seeing anything, or really knowing the outside. She enjoyed it. I should be on fire more often... she internally mused.

 

"I heard that! Don't let yourself get carried away while you're on fire or you'll end up just like-"Riku paused, knowing he was saying too much. Sora had told Riku his side of the story, while he never told Sora his side. Nothing about Roxas or Xion...or even Axel...and yet the brunette talked about how devastating it was when he sacrificed himself for Sora. How a complete stranger risked his life because he wanted to see his lost friend one more time... Most likely to apologize for his misdeeds.

"J-Just be careful."Riku said, after his small fit of recalling memories.

 

Eden knew the memory, very very well. This put her flames on hold. "I will keep my head." she muttered, making a large sweep of heartless, her form bending deeply. She did like the feeling of the warmth though, and how it put her at ease.

 

Gexln cut directly through a shadow in front of him and then leapt into the air only to come crashing down onto another shadow with a vertical slash from Darkness' Sorrow. "Not much further!" he cried, standing a very, very short distance from the dark corridor.

 

"Alright! Thats great!"Valerie said, glad that they were almost out. Riku was still getting overexcited about the fighting, wanting some action himself.

 

Eden allowed Riku control, knowing she wouldn't be able to handle herself properly with such a fierce power like fire. Yes, it came natural, but she would abuse it to the point it could hurt the others. That was not her goal. She tried pushing how far her adrenaline could go, to relive the addiction she was ashamed to almost admit. But that addiction comes in handy once you can control the stimulant your every whim.

 

Riku wanted to freeze the darkness and the beasties, but would tolerate burning them for now. Besides, it was more for scaring them off so the monsters wouldn't attack any allies.
