Kingdom Hearts: SfE Part 2 - The Final Keyhole and the Mark of Mastery

"Look, this sludge can drown us real quick without any light to scare it away. Who knows, if we were swimming again, we could be higher then Ayer's Rock. And that must be the height of the Empire State Building with the amount of dark sludge coming out of it." Eden gruffly muttered, annoyed. She was having a real tough time trying to keep it together. She almost wanted to stay on Earth longer, but that couldn't be done. For the good of many, one must be sacrificed.

 

Valerie was treading through the ick. She was no longer complaining because she knew it would only end up with her being scolded. She just hoped Sora was having a better time with it just being him and Jeffrey.

Sora was passed out in the captains chair, the technology of the gummi slowly but surely repairing the broken dome. The poor brunette was in a nightmare, tossing around in the chair.

 

Eden ventured forth, noticing the sludge was creeping up on Valerie, so she decided to strengthen her flames. "Not going to let you die." she muttered, quickening her pace.

 

Valerie decided to try and help, her daggers on fire as she tried slashing at the sludge. It didn't do much justice though. Valerie huffed in annoyance.

 

"We're not going to fight the sludge, just keep it scared long enough to get to the keyhole." Eden scolded, looking up. How tall had this sludge gotten? Surely they must be close by now.

 

"Gah, I just hope I don't drown. I'm a horrible swimmer."Valerie gave a small frown. She knew that now was no time for humor, but she couldn't help but want to lighten up the situation.

 

"Good luck even if you tried. This stuff is thicker then molasses." Eden looked ahead, Keyblade springing forth. "Must be close." she muttered. So, Shadow... How about some idle chatter?

 

"Sure. Anything you have on your mind? because I'm bored out of mine..."Riku was sprawled out, giving a small sigh.

 

"Anything, I don't know. Um... Anyone else you've met in my heart?" Eden glanced around, wondering if she should just make her own company.

 

"Not yet. But then again, I haven't done much exploring. Not alot of places to go..."Riku was definately losing his patience, wanting his body back as soon as possible.

 

Eden sighed mentally. "Really? Well, if you're lonely, I can... let you have control. Just keep the flame going." She breathed out silently. She hasn't talked to her characters in a long time. Or, to herself for that matter.

 

"Ugh, I was hoping to get some action..."Riku took over. Even if it was to just keep the fire going, he was glad to have a breath of fresh air. "Does anyone have any idea if we're there or not?"Valerie asked. "You'll know when we get there...."Riku said, staying focused.

 

Eden went to work. She and Shadow shared a body, so maybe they would share what she saw. She concentrated an image of a little boy, brown hair in a ponytail, rounded glasses. His eyes graced the face of a smile, hopping about the line. His attire was gray, but fitted the environment. A t-shirt, light gray, and darker shorts, with black flip flops. To Eden's mind, it was if he was invisible, yet, she could see him there. A silly fantasy.

 

Riku took the image, alittle fascinated. Who's that little chap, Eden?It didn't really look like anyone Eden mentioned, so he thought it was just someone she knew that she didn't talk about.

 

Eden smirked, happy to see the fake image. "Hello sweetie." she cooed.
The boy looked to Riku, smiling. A little voice, a male kid, rang within. "Hello, Mom!" He did bear some resemblance, but the image was still a fake. A fantasy of someone desperate.

 

"Mom...?"Riku was a bit suprised, not meaning to utter the word out loud. "Huh? you say something, E-chan?"Valerie asked. "oh no, nothing at all..."Riku said.

 

Eden internally blushed. "This is a... creation, I made for a love of a character. I... didn't want to get rid of Ashir, even after I grew out of my embarrassing stage.
"Oh, that's right. You're not Mom right now are you?" Ashir piped down, "looking" at the sludge. "You do realize that this looks positively horrid, right?"

 

Absolutely horrid. Well, nice to meet you, Ashir... Riku couldn't help but chuckle. the fella was actually rather polite. Valeries cheeks started to spark, sensing that something was up.

bic: "Yes, Shadow. Nice to meet you too. Then again, I have always been here before you. In her head." Ashir stated in a "manner-of-factly" way.
Eden slightly smiled, laughing a bit. She loved her little imaginary son, it helped ease away loneliness.

Well it's nice to know you have someone to talk to while your in there.... Riku seemed to smile at the duo, smiling outwards as well. "Alright, you're starting to freak me out, E-chan."Valerie said. "Why I have no idea what you're talking about, pup."Riku gave a small smirk.
