Kingdom Hearts: SfE Part 2 - The Final Keyhole and the Mark of Mastery

"Roxas, please go get Gexln here. He shouldn't be too far." She coughed a bit, mostly due to inhaling her food too quickly. "Kurix will stay here in case anything happens. Be careful out there Rox. " with a half-hearted wave, she dismissed him to his assigned duty.

 

"Alright. I'll be back with him."Roxas left the gummi, Kurix giving a nervous chuckle. Oh sure, leave me with her.... "Eden, are you awake?"Rikus voice called out through the communication link. "She's awake!"Kurix said. "Isn't that what Riku just asked?"Valerie asked, giving a small chuckle. "We were hoping to head out to Radiant Garden to take Valerie and Eden to see Aerith-with her being a healer and all..." "It was my idea!"Sora said. "uh..."Kurix looked at Eden, alittle nervous. "If you want, you guys can go ahead. Roxas went to get Gexln and I won't feel...okay with myself if I go without them."He said.

 

"I want Roxas and Gexln with us." Eden grumbled. "And I need Aerith anyway. My leg needs some tending... And I'm fine... I just woke up feeling like a got a sword through the chest."

 

"well I woke up feeling like I got hit by an 18-wheeler! Whoo I still feel winded!"Valerie sounded alitttle...loopy when she said that. "Well, we can go on ahead if its alright. It'll only be a quick 'tend to injuries' thing..."Riku explained. "Unless we run into trouble. But we'll be back before you know it!"Sora said. "I guess so..."Kurix muttered, not really sure what to say.

 

"Tell Aerith to make a salve for my leg. I'll need it for a while." Eden huffed. "Just be back soon..." She looked at Kurix, patting his head in some form of thanks. She laid back down on her bed, just resting with eyes open.

 

"We'll be back in lickety split!"Valerie reassured. "as long as we don't run into trouble."Riku said. "B-Be careful!"Kurix said. "aaaaw....why couldn't we have had the sweet one on our gummi?"Valerie teased. "Ouch, that's not nice to say about Riku. He can be sweet."Sora said. Riku coughed, cutting off the communication before things got embarassing. Kurix couldn't help but laugh.

 

Gexln was getting more and more agitated, the people backing down from a fight whenever it seemed like one was about to begin. He leapt up onto one of the small stalls. "What's wrong with you? I thought you people here were tough! I'd heard stories of pirates and the townspeople that live in villages raided by pirates, all apparently fearless and powerful, but you're all nothing but weaklings!" Gexln yelled out angrily, to which the response was a few growls from a small crowd of people that had gathered.

 

Roxas saw people gathering and the yells of complaints and drunken slurrs. I have a feeling Gexln is close...he started to make his way through the angered crowd to find Gexln...hopefully before he got hurt.

 

"I don't know what you all do here, is it simply waiting for your deaths? No fighting back? You're all PATHETIC!" Gexln yelled, getting further riled up by his own words. The growls and cries of anger were becoming more numerous by the second.

 

Roxas made his way through the crowd, seeing Gexln antagonizing the crowd. "What are you doing?! Get down from there!"He said in a scolding matter.

 

"You're just as bad as the rest of them! MAKE me come down!" Gexln challenged, stamping his foot in anger like a child.

 

Roxas groaned, having a facepalm moment. "Eden said its time to go. We have to head to the gummi ship."He explained.

 

Gexln gruffly hopped down from the stall. The very moment his feet touched the ground a man yelled out "i knew it, he was all talk!". Gexln turned around and swiftly kicked the man in the gut, knocking him down and winding him. The crowd angrily surged towards Gexln as he turned and hurried away.

 

"Gexln!"Roxas hurried after Gexln, hoping to lead him to the gummi as the enraged crowd chased after him. Oh this is just great....

 

An ear twitched, and Eden shifted her gaze towards the door. "Something's up out there. Don't try anything unless they knock..." she mumbled, trying to keep Kurix safe in her own way. "By the way, I kept you with me for a reason. Roxas knows better."

 

"Roxas does seem to know better... I wouldn't feel good leaving you by yourself anyway..."Kurix said nervously. "I-It's not that I'm scared its just...uh..."He cleared his throat, being very good at being nervous sespite not having a heart.

Meanwhile, Rikus gummi ship decided to take off. "Haha! Back to adventure mode! woo-hoo!"Valerie was eating the meal Riku had finished up-even if it was just simple bowls of soup with. "I thought you would have your fill after Port Royal..."Riku said. "Oh please. an adventurer never tires of the thrill! I mean, we're like superheroes of the universe!"Valerie said, very excited. "Oh really? What would your Superhero name be? "Orange Lightning"?"Sora couldn't help but laugh. "well-"Valerie was cut off by the groan from Riku.

"Sora!"Riku bopped Sora in the back of the head. "Ow! what was that for?"Sora huffed. "I cannot believe you just did that..."Riku said. "Did what?"Valerie didn't seem to get the apparent reference.

 

"You are still fragile. I would not let you go alone." Eden mumbled, holding out her arm to hug Kurix sorta.

 

"I-I'm not fragile! I just don't have as much experience with fighting... I-it doesn't mean I can't fight."Kurix protested. He paused, remembering what Roxas said about the lack of emotions nobodies had. "I know you probably think I'm faking it but.... to be honest, I just...don't know. Its like... I can act out emotions without having to feel them... if that makes sense... of course... that's what nobodies are good for... faking emotions..."Kurix frowned at the last bit. "I don't even know who my somebody is... I'm probably the most pathetic nobody ever..."he started to feel self-pity...or at least tried to.

 

"Kurix. This is why you are fragile. I believe it is best for you to stay with me until you properly realize yourself." Eden shifted herself, hugging Kurix. "You just have to be very careful."

 

"Okay..."Kurix said, feeling better after the hug. he looked towards the door of the gummi, expecting Roxas to come in with Gexln. "What's taking them so long..."He gave a small frown, confused.
