Kingdom Hearts: SfE Part 2 - The Final Keyhole and the Mark of Mastery

"I'm...not sure.." Gexln said, uncertain of whether or not to accept the heart. He looked at it, eyes slightly cloudy. "What would happen to me?"

 

Through blurred eyes and quite a bit of pain now, a simple answer was what the Pyro could give. "You would be WHOLE." the language of the dark almost left her, the accent still thick however. She was still grunting in pain, nearly collapsing on the floor. She kept a hold of herself, at least kneeling instead of a sprawled out mess.

 

"Whole? No, GLEN would be whole! I'd cease to exist! I can't do it! I'd be nothing..." Gexln said. He put the heart in a pocket in his coat, not throwing it away entirely, though he had no intention of merging with it. Even if i did merge with it...i've got so much darkness in me i'm not sure how he'd handle it.. he thought to himself.

 

Eden shook her head, grunting more. She couldn't really speak at this point with the pain within her, but she did point to Roxas, Kurix, and Blaige. She took in a great breath of air to keep herself from screaming.

 

"Eden!"Kurix and Roxas frowned in concern, Roxas readying a cure spell or anythign to aleviate the pain. "No, we're almost done! We can't lose focus now!"Riku said. "What makes you think we're almost done?!"Valerie asked. Sora kept his full concentration.

 

Eden kept herself breathing, not going to allow a single scream past her lips.
"Ohhh, just one more push should do it!" Pulling her sleeves, Merrywheather sent in a bigger pulse of light towards the middle where the most darkness lied.

 

Sora put more energy into his light spell, focusing on the rings together. Riku was suprised at how serious Sora was, putting more effort in himself. Valerie shut her eyes tight, expecting some blinding light once it was complete.

 

'Twas not a light but a pulse of extra light. It expelled at such a condescend force that it nearly felt like an explosion. It did cause the Pyro and the heart to fly from each other, knocking Gexln over. The heart of Terra's hit Valerie upside the head.

 

"Ow!"Valere caught Terra's heart as it hit her, shaking her head. "We did it!"Sora cheered. "It appears so.."Riku said. "yeah, high five!"Roxas turned to Kurix, holding up his hand. There was a brief silence before Roxas put his hand down. "sorry. got...carried away."He admitted. "Wow. that was the first really happy thing you've said since I've met you."Kurix joked.

 

The Pyro of Earth groaned in pain, gathering her bearings and getting up off of Gexln. "Sorry." She muttered, the accent of the dark barely even there anymore. Some heavy S's still remained, but everyone was free. She helped the nobody up, making sure to properly dust him off after such a blast. She noticed a faint glowing from Gexln's pocket, and frowned. "Why haven't you made yourself whole?"

 

Gexln stood up. "What's the point? There's no need to right now" Gexln said stubbornly. He couldn't help but notice the accent dissappearing for the most part. "Feeling better?" he asked.

 

Eden nodded, smiling slight. "Yeah... it's gone." she sighed with some relief. "But... Why would there no need to be whole?" she wondered, somewhat worried what waiting would do to the heart.

 

"I'm not sure whether it'd survive through all the darkness inside of me" Gexln said, rather bluntly.

 

"You went dark for a reason. And to be quite honest, Glen could find use in that... Besides, I'm here. I can help." Eden smiled slightly, trying to keep her hands busy with her sweater pockets. "So... what now?" she mumbled with some hesitance, worried about their missions ahead.

 

"Well obviously we gotta get this back to Terra."Valerie was holding Terra's heart. "and figure out what to do with the others."Riku said, looking at the rest of the purified hearts. Sora plopped down, alittle woozy. "wow, that takes alot out of you."He said, giving a small chuckle.

 

Eden yawned, nodding at Sora's confession. "Aye, it's quite tough to purify something with that much concentrated darkness. And you'll have to purify all the ones Xehanort had taken as well. The road will be long and tough, we might need the Cornerstones." She glanced at him, a dazed look in her eyes.

 

"Cornerstones....? Plural...?"Roxas asked, not knowing there was more than the cornerstone of light. "Lets get to the gummi ships. I think at this point we can travel together. Now, before we leave we'll figure who'll be traveling with who."Riku said. "Well theres me, Kurix, Valerie, Jeffrey, you, Sora and Kisa, Kairi, Naminé, Eden, Gexln, Blaige, and Equius."Roxas listed their group off. "and Chester!"Valerie said, reminding everyone of the Shadow hiding away in one of the gummis. "So we have.... 14 even!"Kurix said. "Sora, Kisa, and I have to stay together, so we just need four more."Riku said. "2 more. Chesters not leaving your gummi and I'm not leaving Chester."Valerie said. "Eden and Gexln will have Equius...and I suppose you guys will be taking Blaige too?"Sora looked over to Eden and Gexln.

Eden nodded at Roxas' question. "If there is one of light, surely there is one of the dark and in between."
Blaige stood over the Pyro, tall and gangly compared to her. He eyes Gexln with some anger, shaking slightly due to the battles earlier.
She continued, eying her own creation with some hesitance. "Believe me, I don't want Blaige with me. He'd probably hold more use to someone else." She was watching Valerie as she spoke, thinking it best that someone like her were to have Blaige around. He would provide good protection, and she could pacify him with a few quick shocks.

 

"So we have six. Sora, Kisa, me, Chester and Valerie, and Blaige.... and guessing by our puppy, I suppose we'll be taking Jeffrey."Riku said. "Hey! That kiss was to mess with you! We're not like you and Sora!"Valerie protested. But then she turned a bright red at how she worded it. "I mean as in we're not in love. we're like, best friends!"she said. "Riiiiight."Sora couldn't help but chuckle. "So the rest of us are going with Eden and Gexln?"Roxas asked. "As long as I get to stay with Roxy."Kurix said. Roxas gave Kurix a small look, a mix of anger and confusion. "Roxy...?" "Er... well, we're friends now so I thought I'd give you a nickname..."Kurix explained. "A nickname, yes... But... Roxy is too feminine."Roxas said. "Ahem..."Riku got the duos attention. "I suppose we should go since we have our groups together."He said. "Alriiight."Valerie said.

 

"It matters little to me who i go with, just so long as the job's done" Gexln said, crossing his arms. "But while i'm on the topic, i think i'd rather not go with Blaige, considering he tried to kill me" he added.
