Kingdom Hearts: SfE Part 2 - The Final Keyhole and the Mark of Mastery

It took every ounce of determination in Gexln's body not to unsheathe Darkness' Sorrow and stab Xehanort then and there. Taking a deep breath, he dropped Xikari on the ground at his feet, near Eden. "I've come to show you just how weak you are. Look at my feet now" he said. As if to show where he meant, he kicked Xikari quickly. "This one failed you. Couldn't get this heart from me. The other one? As useful as she has been to me, she is no use to me now without her rightful body. Now, you have tried many times to destroy the keyblade wielders, no? Yet you've failed. Why? Taking them down is something that cannot be done alone" Gexln stated. He stared at Xehanort. Is he believing any of this? he wondered.

Taking another breath, he continued. "It strikes me, Xehanort, that perhaps you need assistance from someone that wishes to see the keyblade wielders gone almost as much as yourself. Someone that knows their style of fighting, someone that knows how to destroy them not only physically but from within too" he said. This is where it could go wrong so easily he thought to himself. "Someone, like me" he finished.

 

You pause at his ballsy words, a slight smirk gracing your lips. "Yes. I suppose one of the Pure would be better at fighting the Wielders than my... puppets." You watch the seven pods circling you, and the tendrils taking away both offerings. "You know, my people of the Dark were never as smart, always got too close." you mumble, thinking to the countless of others that crumbled from your plague of a darkness. "I will take you in, and plant a seed within you to be sure you won't defy me." with a slight wave, your extensions pull the two of you into the dark, no illusions of the deceased or maimed trying to claw or maim Gex.

 

Gexln stopped for a moment, unsure of exactly what the seed would do. Quickly he changed his expression back to a serious one, hoping Xehanort didn't notice the moment of uncertainty. He glanced down quickly at Eden. This is the only way to make sure something like that doesn't happen again he thought. Taking yet another deep breath, he looked Xehanort straight in the eyes. "If that's what it takes. Go for it, then i'll be sure to bring back the wielders" Gexln said.

 

You smirk, raising a hand to your kingdom of the Dark. A small ball forms into your palm, the size of an pill. "Eat this. It will root itself and grow in your chest." Casually handing it to him, you pick up the new form your heart acquired, allowing your tendrils to consume it until the bare heart remained. It pulsated weakly, a dull light. You take a few steps, creating your throne, each arm having an empty dip. One was filled with a darker pulsing heart. "This one belongs to my other body. Terra. He served his time. I will discard of him shortly." you mumble to yourself, clicking in the heart and sitting on the throne.

 

Gexln looked at the small pill of darkness. After a moment wondering what it would do to him, he swallowed it. The very moment he swallowed it he felt a very dull ache in his stomach, but thought nothing of it. "Now, what is it you wish me to do?" he questioned.

 

You click your tongue, contemplating things. "What is the status of the Wielders? Details are welcome." You think some more, trying to figure out how to fight against Sora. You still have Kingdom Hearts, the artificial one Sora helped build... it was broken and scattered, but the hearts were all yours. Yes... That would be the best tactic.

 

Gexln thought for a moment. "As far as i remember, they were at the land of dragons. Not quite sure what they were doing there though" Gexln said simply. He didn't want to give too many details away.

 

"There isn't much there for them." You nod, slightly bored by this news. "Any companions? How did you beat Xikari?"

 

Gexln chuckled quietly, remembering the battle with Xikari. "Sora, Riku, Roxas, Kurix, Valerie, Jeffrey, Kairi, and of course Sora's child. Not really much of a threat, but that's who is in the group, unless i've forgotten someone. As for Xikari..i trapped her in a coffin of darkness and crushed her. Simple, but effective" Gexln said proudly.

 

You have always been intrigued by the number of partners Sora collects over time. It was like that boy could just smile at you and light up the world. You sneer in disgust, as it was the very thing that prevented you to achieve what you truly wanted. Taking your mind off of it and turn your head to Xikari, raising her body and allowing the 7 pods around you latch onto her and absorb her being, slowly and painfully. "It is upsetting she failed me so easily... the others will benefit from this, not make her mistakes..."

 

Gexln raised an eyebrow at Xehanort's words. "Others?" he asked. Just how many are there? Will they be as good at fighting as that Xikari?

BIC: "Why do I have a bad feeling that if we stay here we're eventually going to DIE?"Valerie asked. "Gexln tactic. He has to tell Xehanort where we are. In order to gain his trust."Riku said. "Then...we go?"Sora asked. "No, then he'd know that we were in on the plan."Riku said. "So...stay here and be ambushed?"Kurix asked. "Its not an ambush if we're know they're coming."Roxas explained.

 

You nod. "Yes, others. To take care of Sora and his companions. They shall not fail me like my demo subject is." You dismiss the thought, easily bored by it. You stare off into the abyss of darkness waving Gexln away. "Go watch over and report status updates on the wielder. If you come in contact, fight."

 

Gexln nodded. "As you wish" he said, as he opened a dark corridor. He glanced down at Eden quickly. I'll make things right, i promise he thought to himself. He stepped through the dark corridor, emerging quite a large distance away from Sora. He crouched down and pulled the hood up over himself to minimise the chance of being recognised.

 

Riku was basically drilling the "rookies", acting like one of the warriors in the world. Sora watched Riku basically yell orders, giving a small sigh at the roughness. When is he going to learn.... "gaaaaah!"Valerie winced as she punched a tree, now shaking her hand. "Honestly Riku, why are you teaching us hand to hand combat when we have weapons?"Roxas asked, overviewing the training. "Because there will be times where you can't use weapons and Thus! use your body instead."Riku said. "Riku, can you lighten up. Being a good fighter isn't always about strength..."Sora suggested. Kurix nodded, looking around. I wonder if I can sneak into the gummi while they're talking...

 

Gexln observed. "So..combat training? Hand to hand too? Are they planning on losing the keyblade soon or something?" he asked quietly with a small laugh.

 

Kenna (who I almost forgot about) watched, unable to hit any tree or anything stable really. "Sora, is there anything I can do?... Gexln and... Eden, are gone and I don't know what use I am." With each little flap of the transparent wings, a trail of smoke dispelled from her, leaving behind a sweet, mild scent of Honey.

 

"Ouch..." Jeffrey's knuckles had turned red, sore from punching a tree. If the tree could feel, it wouldn't appreciate this... he thought jokingly.

 

"Riku, you and Sora aren't losing keyblades anytime soon. and I am keeping my babies."Valerie remarked. "um...hi. I'm not invisible."Roxas waved. "Yeah but have you even tried to summon the...the...uh... giant key sword thing?"Kurix asked. Valerie couldn't help but chuckle at the forgetfulness. "I haven't had a need to use the keyblade...yet."Roxas said. Sora shrugged, looking over to Kenna at the words. "You don't have to worry. You can probably be....hmm..."he thought over what Kenna could do. Riku just stood there, alittle annoyed. He noticed Gexln, but with the good up Riku only recognized what could be the enemy. Oh great.... He kept still for now, not wanting to fright the others.

 

Kenna sighed. "I can't seem to become Ashir again, and I prefer my first... face, if you will. Felt like it was me." she watched the others, feeling a slight pang of deja vu. But dismissing their tree punching, she returned to her somebody's gummi, head sweaty and her complexion paler than ash.
