Still no word on English-speaking audiences getting an Ultimania ever? No? Thought so. :'v

I guess I can't fault them for wanting some things to themselves, but damn man... This sounds so juicy.

I own the KH3D Ultimania and there is a ridiculous amount of information in there. Translating it really would be a nightmare. A lot of the information in it is later included in the official game guides that are released -- you do miss out on the good stuff, like the artwork and the interviews with them of course. That said, I can't see them bringing the Ultimanias overseas ever, especially considering (from what I understand) the official guides don't sell very well here.

It looks like the Ultimania is listed for $30~, though, which isn't a bad price (though shipping is always a lot). I might pick up a copy again.

Edit: Found some more info on some of the e-store goods Square posted, hope you don't mind Roxam but I edited it into your post! (feel free to change the title around & junk)

If there was a US editor willing to translate and release them it would have been done already. SE can' t even keep up translating their own games so ...

I bought both of the Ultimania-like Dragon Ball books that have been released in France : the artbook, and the encyclopedia (300 pages of text walls). I think there were eight books total in Japan, they picked the two they thought would sell the most. But then DB' s popularity in France back then was insane, Kingdom Hearts is nowhere near that.

really? I'm surprised to hear that. It can be a bit of an information overload, but despite this there are heaps of fans overseas who wouldn't waste a second before buying the ultimanias

Someone should kickstarter to raise funds to translate and bring over these books.

Ultimanias are a bit different from official guides though, yeah? and I'm sure there'd be more sales for a book celebrating KH's entire history

I think that might be illegal. The interviews do get translated and that's really the only "new" info in them.

They are, the biggest difference is the artwork and interviews. Otherwise from what I can tell (I can't read Japanese) most of the info is like... Enemy stats and such, which you can get from the guides.

I'd be a little surprised; it seems to me like Square's MO in the past has been something along the lines of "why would we release this outside of japan lol"
