I agree. I really enjoy every KH game they make, and I like how they sometimes recycle things. The music is awesome, so why get rid of it? The worlds bring back memories of playing the original game and are lot's of fun to explore, and the characters are the best:D

I got it the day it came out and have been having fun with it. One complaint though is that my L button on my ds lite is broken so it is a little hader without it.

I got it a few hours after school on Tuesday. I just finished it today (Friday 9:19 PM. Play time about 16 hours).
Here is what I thought of it and summary (without spoilers). Dont bash me on my opinions because we all think differently.
For some of you KH re:Coded is NOT a remake of KH1. It is a remake of the phone game for NTT DoCoMo. The game fills in the blanks from the first game. The game takes place after the end of KH2 and between the end-credit movie/video of KH2. Things in the journal from the first game has a few errors and they send a Data version of Sora (thats why he is in KH1 form) to correct the errors.
Game play was very interesting. It is mixed with kh BBS. The cutscene part where its like your reading a comic is really brought back from TWEWY (The World Ends With You). The Difficulty Mode Switch was also brought back from TWEWY. The other cutscenes are the same as Days like if your playing it from a PS2.
I could care less about the graphics because Im not the type of person that plays or judges games for graphics. The music is amazing. The Avatar thing is very interesting but I dont have much to say because I have not used it that much.
Do I like it more then Days? I liked both games. I thought both are fun and interesting with a good story.
Thats what I thought about re:Coded and I hope I did not slip out any spoilers. I loved the game. Very challenging! :D

I finished the game today too.

This was a really fun and creative game. The different kind of level designs and enemy battles/challanges just seem to add to the gaming experience. I espeically love the command system, how it's a lot easier to flow through instead of a bunch of different windows. Many of the battles did involve a lot of strategy, which makes it much more than just a button mashing kind of game, and the finishing combos were a very nice touch.

IGN's review seemed to be very negative about the game (even though they gave an 8.0). One complaint was about how the cuscenes were done. I actually liked these cutscenes than the ones in Days (I'm talking about the ones with no voice acting). With Days, they looked like puppets that had no moving lips, which got a little creepy after awhile. The sprites in this game at least showed emotion.

I liked the story too, even though it's confusing as hell to me. Most Kingdom Hearts fans will understand the main points of the story and can probably tell where the next game is going to be headed. It's a nice looking game with lots of re-play ability and many things to unlock!

That is why I dont play games based off reviews or graphics (same goes for movies and anime). I play them for the story (if I like it, or want to continue the story, or find the story interesting) like The 3rd Birthday because of the E3 2010 trailer. I started to play and finished both the original games for the first time (Parasite Eve 1 and 2 for PS1) and now I cant wait for the NA release on PSP! :D

I got it yesterday and have played it a bit. I like it, the fighting is awesome because it's just like BBS (which is my favourite fighting system out of all the KH games) however, the camera really got to me. Maybe I just need to get used to it but I prefer how you turn the camera in Days and BBS. Well, I need to play it some more before I make any rash judgements. I like what I've done so far, I did also fear it would be exactly the same as KH1 but it's not ^^

I had a quick browse on the avatar menu... lolwot? xD It's random and I love it, (I dressed Xehanorts heartless as a white mushroom)

I just started playing it a few hours ago, and I like it a lot so far! I love the level-up/ability system, which is something like a cross between that of 358/2 Days and Final Fantasy XIII (with its own little twist, of course ;)). The different fighting modes/levels give the game a bit of variety. The command system is VERY similar to that of Birth By Sleep, but a little simplified and not quite as fun, IMO. The graphics are as good as, if not slightly better than the graphics of 358/2 Days. I am very pleased to say that there are plenty full-on, voiced cutscenes, unlike in 358/2 Days, where such cutscenes were few and far between. The one downer is that there are only two save slots for this game, whereas 358/2 Days had three. I assume this is due to Re:coded having more cutscenes than Days. They gave up a save slot in order to make more room for cutscenes. I like to use two data slots for my DS games, just so that I always have a back-up. So this means that unless I'm ready to get rid of my own data, I won't be able to share the game card with friends. It doesn't break my heart, I can get past it, but...there you go. Oh, and this is probably the most linear game in the whole series. This doesn't bother me, but I know that some people don't like linear games, so I'm just putting that out there as a warning.

While none of the clips I've seen so far (except maybe a few in the introduction) are directly from the first KH, some of them are extremely similar. Take the ones in Destiny Islands and Traverse Town, for example. They do look almost the same, but if you've seen the ones from the first KH enough times, you'll see some slight differences, other than just the re-dubbing. I assume that part of this is because they've changed Sora's design since the first Kingdom Hearts and Chain of Memories (his hair is now lighter than it was in those first two games of the series), so they completely re-did the cutscenes while trying to make them look almost exactly like the originals.

Oh, and if you're really committed to the KH series and don't care for spoilers, I HIGHLY recommend that you play Birth By Sleep before you play this one, even though coded came out in Japan before BBS. This is because THE INTRODUCTION CONTAINS BIRTH BY SLEEP SPOILERS. Or at least they're what I consider to be spoilers. Yes, you only see each clip (there are only about three or four, if I remember correctly) for a second or less, so you may not have time to fully process what you see, but if it were me, it wouldn't be worth the risk. If/when you decide to play BBS, you have to unlock the secret ending, which is easy to do on Proud Mode. It will take a while to finish the game this way, but believe me, IT'S WORTH IT. I think the only requirement to unlock the secret ending on Proud Mode is to find all of Xehanort's Reports. If you have trouble finding those, just find a walkthrough online. SO ANYWAY, I'm done with my BBS tangent.

Overall, I had my doubts about this game, because I thought it would just boil down to a simplified version of the first Kingdom Hearts, especially at the beginning, with a little bit more of Riku's side of the story added in. Yes, I already knew when the game takes place in the storyline and all that, but still... My doubts quickly subsided, however, when I found how much more to it there was, and I'm eager to see how it ultimately unfolds, and exactly which direction the story will point towards by the end of Re:coded.

The one thing I did not like about KH re:Coded was you cant pause cutscenes like in KH 358/2 Days.

But other then that the game is good. I actually thought the music is awesome. Good use of techno-ish 8-bit type of music :)

First kh game that let's you visit destiny islands whenever you want, finally! There's alot of replay value aswell which I'm loving. Second last boss is very cool and definitely made me think "Yeh what did happen to......" The command system is a bit confusing and the memory limitation can be occasionally irritating but not alot. Other than that I extremely enjoyed the game.

I think the game is really cool, I like the gameplay better than Days, story wise I think both are cool but I prefer, believe it or not, Days. I know it may be the worst kh but I still don't get why people criticize the story line so much. I actually liked it and I think the end was really sad.
