Kingdom Hearts: Quiet's End

As shane contiued to make his way through the town, he soon came across a old man in blue robes exiting a house. Wonder who he is. He thought as he got closer to the man.

 

R quickly took his chance and dashed forward, slicing across Riku's stomach while grabbing his face and using dark firaga.

 

"Hello, there, m'lad," Merlin said as Shane approached. "Would you like to come in for a spot of tea and a bit of advice? I've got both ready inside."

Kairi watched as Merlin left the room. "I hope so," she said. "Usually, I know that Riku can hold his own in a fight, but now he's fighting himself. I don't know how he'll make it out of this one." Kairi felt worried about him. I just hope he's okay.

Riku felt the blade slash across his stomach and the fire burn his face. He had seen it coming, but too late. He staggered backwards, he couldn't see much. He cast a cure charm on himself, but he still was losing the fight. He was almost completely out of energy. This was it.

Sora ran through the secret passage, until he got to a hole in the wall. He looked down and saw Riku fighting, but he couldn't see the enemy. He looked down the passage, Donald and Goofy weren't there yet. He had to do this himself. He drew his keyblade and got ready to jump.

 

Still unaware of Sora's presence, R Grafted darkness together and created two long, glowing, blades. He did a spinning attack followed by combining them together and striking upwards. If his memory served him right, this move was called dark maelstrom.

 

"Okay...sure." Shane replied. He didn't know whether or not to trust this man, but his keyblade hadn't appeared with it's chain shaking so that had to to a good sign. Let's see what kind advice you have for me.

 

Merliin led the newcomer into the small house and took his seat, picking up his cup and sipping the sweet tea. The teapot floated up into the air a second time, pouring tea into Shane's cup. The came the cream and sugar. "Shane" Merlin said politely. "This is Kairi, and this is Sarai." Kairi smiled and gave a small wave as Merlin introduced her. "It's nice to meet you, Shane." she said.

Sora jumped down as Riku was attacked, and turning to face the unknown enemy, he saw... Riku. "Wha-!" He turned to look at Riku, who had fallen against the wall and crumpled to the ground, and then he turned to face the other Riku, who looked darker and different. "There's two Riku's," he muttered under his breath. "Since when have there been two Riku's?" But it didn't make a difference either way. He held up his keyblade. "I don't know what's going on," he said out loud to the darker Riku. "But I can't let you hurt my friends like that. Where's Kairi?"

Riku saw Sora jump down out of nowhere, and face the replica. He wanted to get up and help, but he had no more strength. He could only lie there and watch.

 

R was slightly surprised at Sora's arrival. The last time they had met was as allies, working together to protect Namine from Marluxia. He wasn't entirely thrilled to fight Sora, and on top of that he was running on empty from the fight with Riku. "Kairi ran off into the darkness with some other girl. I don't know where she ended up. As for what's going on...you wouldn't know." He said to the boy in black and red. He then outstretched his heart to try and contact Kira. "I may need some help here. I beat Riku but Sora showed up, i'm just about out of energy from that last fight. I'm in beasts castle." He sent the message in hopes it would arrive. A moment afterward, something dawned on him. If he could get to Riku, he'd win hands down.

 

"It's nice to meet you too." He replied. He decided against saying anything about Sarai little out burst. Besides his keyblade still wasn't in has hand shaking so that had to be a good sign. Taking a seat, he waited for what Merlin would say next.

 

Kairi also decided to ignore Sarai's strange behavior, she probably had just burned her tongue on the hot tea. So she tunred her attention to Merlin. He usually had something wise to say, or at least, that's how she had always thought of him when she was younger.

Merlin took a sip of his tea and then sighed a little. "First things first, in answer to your question, Kairi, I'm afraid I don't know much of what is happening, only that if something isn't done soon, darkness will completely consume the worlds. And now for your advice, Mr. Shane," Merlin turned towards Shane and smiled. "I believe it would be in your best interest to try and work as part of a team again. Going solo is just fine in moderation, but you'll never have a friend around to watch your back."

Kira felt R calling her. She smiled at Hitomu. "Well," she said. "That's enough training for now. Why don't you go back to your room and rest for a bit?" He smiled up at her and put away his keyblade. "Alright," he said. Then he ran off to his room. Kira took a deep breath, masking as a creature of light was a lot harder than it looked. But before she could go and help R, she had to make sure that Mitsuko wouldn't connect with Hitomu. So she opened a Dark Portal to the dungeon and stepped through. Mitsuko stood up when Kira came in, but Kira just held out her keyblade and stunned the girl into unconciousness. Then she left for Beast's Castle.

Sora raised his keyblade and shot a firaga spell at the darker Riku and then ran at him, Keyblade up, ready to attack. But all in all, he was relieved that Kairi had gotten away.

 

R jumped out of the way, diving forward and catching the ground with his hand to do a front flip. He raced up to Sora as fast as his drained body would allow and opened a dark corridor at the last second to get past him. then headed straight for Riku.

 

Shane had thought over about what merlin had said. He had forgotten what it was like to have someone watching your back. Eversince the incident, he choose to work alone, just in case it should happen again.

 

Sora skidded to a stop, then turned around. The second Riku was headed right for the first Riku. "No!" He shot another firaga spell straight for the second Riku, but it dissolved into nothingness on the way. "Wha-?" He turned towards the front door and saw a young girl in a red hood, a dark portal closing behind her. It was the same girl from the islands.

Kira had arrived just in time to counteract the spell headed straight for R. Now, with his hood down, she was able to see that her suspicions had been correct. He was the replica. But there was no time to think about that now. Sora was standing in between her and R, looking back and forth as if he weren't sure which was the bigger threat. She decided to make up his mind for him. Summoning her dark keyblade, she rushed toward him and then jumped in the air, vaulting over him while spinning, hitting him repeatedly with her blade. She stopped spinning and held out her hand, pushing off from the ground and doing a backflip to land, upright, between Sora and R. Then she smiled and held up her keyblade as if to say go ahead and attack, I dare you.

Riku saw the whole thing, but couldn't move. Everything was getting darker, he was slipping into unconciousness. But he fought to hang on, he couldn't leave Sora to fight on his own.

 

R dove for His Silver haired twin and grabbed him by the throat. He raised him up in the air and a dark flame began engulfing Riku, much like it had Zexion eleven years ago. As Riku's life force left him, all his strength and power flooded into R. A trait and ability exclusive to Replicas. But R wasn't completely heartless. He slowed down the process, giving him long enough for him to say his final goodbyes to his lifelong friend.

 

"NOOO!" Sora yelled as he watched the second Riku drain the life away from the first. But he couldn't help, the dark girl was standing between him and Riku, and when he tried to get past her, she turned out to be exceptionally good at keeping him away from them. "Riku!"

As Riku felt the last of his life leave him, he looked at Sora and managed a smile. "Don't worry..." he said. He wanted to finish his sentence, he wanted to remind Sora that there would always be a door to the Light, but he couldn't get anymore words out. Finally free of the Darkness that had haunted him so long, he dissapeared in a burst of golden light. He was gone.

Kira smirked as she pushed Sora away from Riku, she didn't have the same merciful heart that R had aqquired. She allowed him to watch the death of his friend, not because she wanted to let them say goodbye, but because she knew that for him to see his dear friend die but be powerless to save him would cause darkness to spread into his heart more swiftly then ever. So she smiled at hiis pain, and then when Riku dissapeared and he fell to his knees, no longer paying any attention to her or R, she turned away. "Well, R," she said. "Shall we return to the castle?"

 

R now had a different air about him. He was no longer a mere replica that had surpassed its original, he was a being entirely different. A bright aura of darkness floated off him as he turned, his eyes now bright purple. "Yes." He said to his leader. His voice was the same, yet different at the same time. It couldn't be explained, it just was. to even his own surprise, he opened several dark corridors at once. One leading to each of the remaining worlds which housed a princess and one to their base. . "Thats...convenient." He said for lack of a better word

 

"Yes, it is." Kira said, looking in surprise at all the portals with all their worlds. So R was much more powerful now, that made sense. But then a little voice of doubt raised itself in her heart: If Riku had been vaquished by his replica, what had happened to his heart? Had it been sent to the ever growing Kingdom Hearts, or had it latched onto the nearest living thing, R's heart? It really was too soon to tell, heart's were unpredictable at best, and the study of replicas had died with the organization. So she shoved the nagging doubt aside and turned towards R. "Perhaps I should let you choose," she said. "You may go where you wish, I will merely follow along behind and help where I can."

Sora knelt, ignoring the presence of the two dark people behind him. He would get them for this, oh yes, he would destroy them for what they had done, but not yet. Not quite yet. He had to find Kairi and tell her... tell her that Riku was dead. Besides, he felt weaker, as if a part of his heart had been ripped out of him. His friends were his power, yes, for him to lose his oldest friend was to lose quite a bit of his power. He felt stunned. He had to wait.

 

R chose a portal at random and ended up next to a rather large house, from which a white castle could be seen. He was in Cinderella's world, the castle of dreams. This world shouldn't take long. No one here is a competent fighter and Cinderella is too kind heated to ever change from her princess of heart status." He said as he treader toward the castle.
