Kingdom Hearts: Quiet's End

R disappeared into a corridor of darkness leading to the opposite side of the room at the last second. So he was fighting like Sora now...Well that was certainly unexpected. Stopping to think for a moment, he decided on his strategy. He implanted darkness into his sword, transforming it into a larger weapon temporarily. He kept it up until it had grown at least five times in weight. It was now incredibly heavy and hard to wield, but a blow from this would be devastating. Propping it up on his shoulder, he let his opponent come to him.

 

Drat, it didn't work, Riku thought, reverting back to his original style. He watched as the replica's weapon grew bigger and bigger, enhanced by darkness. I guess I'm not the only one with new tricks, He thought. He realized suddenly that he wouldn't be able to win this fight, at least, if he did, it would take a long time. He looked over at Kairi and Sarai, he couldn't let them get hurt. "You have to get out of here!" He said, opening a dark portal next to them. "I'll find you later, go, NOW!" Then he went into his Oblivion move, sashing at the replica faster than speed.

Kairi didn't want to leave, she wanted to help Riku. But what could she do, really? She wasn't strong enough to fight. She would probably just mess everything up. All she could think about was the day on the islands, when she had messed everything up and gotten her kids stolen. She hoped they were alright. She turned to Sarai, laughing at what she had said. "Yeah, when the Keyblade shows up, it can be a pretty big moment. But I guess we'd better get out of here. Riku can hold his own in a fight, he's been training for years."

"Donald! Goofy!" Sora yelled as he ran up to them. They turned and both said "Sora!" and ran forward. Soon they were together, Donald and Goofy talking about all their old times, but Sora didn't have time for a reunion. "We have to get to the Beast's Castle!" He said hurriedly. "Kairi's in danger! I tried to tell Riku, but I don't know if he heard me."

 

Kairi looked around, Riku had opened a Dark Portal beside them, it probably led somewhere safe. At least, safer than here. "We just have to go through here, and we'll be out of here. Unless you think we should stay and fight..." She trailed off, almost wishing that Sarai would say yes. If Sarai wanted to stay, than she would have an excuse to stay too. Then she could fight.

 

R looked around him. Riku was going at incredible speeds, far faster than the last time they fought. He put both hands on his weapon and grunted as he swung it in a circle, hoping it would hit him.

 

Once the doorway had opened, Shane found himself close to a fight between two figure, which cause his keyblade's chain to shake like crazy.Luckly for him he wasn't close enough to get beheaded from a stray attack. Whoa, I hope I don't in the middle of that. He thought taking a look around to see if anyone else was there. The probelm was that with all the darkness in the air, his heyblade was shaking like crazy, drawing attention to him to.

 

"Alright," Kairi said. "Let's go." With that she stepped through the portal, glancing back at Riku one last time. I hope he makes it out alright, she thought.

Riku saw the move coming, but it was too late to dodge it. He got hit straight on and went flying backwards, landing on a portion of the stairs that were still intact. From there he sent a dark firaga ball at the replica and then jumped down, rushing back for a head on attack, though not as fast as he usually could. The battle was draining his energy. He couldn't last much longer.

Sora expertly steered the gummi ship through the in between of the worlds, heading towards beasts castle. He was going as fast as he could, but he still had the feeling that he would be too late.

 

Still getting his composure back from that last blow he had dealt, R didn't have time to parry the dark ball of fire and as such, was blown back by it. "This is never going to end real thing." He shouted to his opponent whom he had never broken the habit of referring to as 'real thing'. "You and i both know we're equal in strength. We need to finish it." He stood up after saying that. Gathering up all the dark power he could.

 

Riku stood, panting. "Well," he said. "I wouldn't mind leaving you alone if you didn't mess with me and my friends. I know you were the one who took the kids. Where are they? Until I get them back, I'm going to keep fighting."

Kairi stepped out of the dark portal and into Hollow Bastion, right next to Merlin, who didn't look any older. "Merlin!" she said. "Oh, am I glad to see you!" "Yes, yes," the old wizard muttered. "Been expecting you, you know. Take a seat, tea's all ready." He motioned to a table with three chairs and three settings for tea. One for Merlin, one for Kairi, and one for Sarai.

Now that the conversation seemed to be over, Kira opened a dark portal to the Keyblade Graveyard and left the Castle. When she got there, she stood at the edge of the world, looking out over the nothingness that lay beyond, breathing in the night air. The Darkness was swelling up again, and this time, she let it. Darkness consumed her.

A dark portal opened in the Red Queen's Castle and Kira stepped through, her blood-red hood up, hiding her pale face. Grim and quiet, she walked over to a balcony and looked out to where the Queen of Hearts was preparing a legion of card soldiers for battle. War was perfectly fine with Kira, but she needed to ensure victory for the Red Queen. With a wave of her hand, she filled the army with Dark Possessors, then she opened a portal to the White Queen's castle, which she flooded with a large army of heartless. A thousand Shadows, a hundred Soldiers, fifty Large Bodies, and five Darksides. That should take care of this world, she thought, staring at the turmoil with her blank eyes. Now for the boy.

 

R sighed "You're just as overly loyal as ever...people never change i guess..." He said as he swung his blade, sending the discs at him.

 

Riku dodged the disc as he ran towards the replica, Keyblade ready to slash at him in a downward stroke.

Hitomu woke up to see Kira coming into the room. "Good morning," she said pleasantly. "Did you sleep well?" "Yeah," the small boy said happily before remembering about his sister. "Can I train some more?" he asked. "I want to help Mitsuko." Kira smiled. "Yes," she said. "I was going to teach you to use magic today. Does that sound good?" He nodded. "Yeah," he said eagerly. He had often seen his dad use magic to getfires going in the fireplace and wanted to be able to do the same thing.

Kira had woken up in the Castle that Never was, coming out of a trance, feeling drained of energy. This happened quite a bit whenever she let darkness take control, so she wasn't all that fazed about it. She rested for a minute to get her energy back, and then she came to get Hitomu. At the rate R was catching the princesses, she needed to hurry on with the boy's training so he would be ready when the time came. Today, she would teach him magic, and then tomorrow, she would start working on filling his heart with darkness.

 

R Rolled to this side just in time to avoid the blow. This was getting nowhere. He had to finish it fast, Floating into the air, His presence grew darker. Clutching his sword with both hands, he began flying across the room through dark corridors once again.

 

Riku tried to dodge the attacks, but a few of them hit him hard. He needed to end this fast, or he wouldn't make it through the fight. He ran at the wall and then ran up the wall, when he reached the high ceilling, he kicked off from it and shot towards the replica with his keyblade. This was his big attack, but it would leave him pretty defenseless. If the replica somehow dodged this, Riku would be wide open to an attack.

"Oh, where are my manners?" Merlin said. "My name is Merlin, and I'm a wizard. That's how I knew you were coming, m'dear. Would you like some tea?" The teapot rose into the air on it's own and poured tea into the three cups, followed by sugar and cream, also hopping into the cups on their own. Kairi picked hers up and took a sip, it was nice and hot, and sweet. She took another sip. "Mr. Merlin," she said. "Do you know what's going on? I could sure use any information you could give me, I'm afraid Sora and I are in a lot of trouble."

Kira and Hitomu were working diligently, Kira teaching the spells and Hitomu practicing them. He had already destroyed several heartless by fire, and he had healed some heartless after Kira took away most of their health. He had gotten blizzard down and now was working on aero when he felt it. It was Mitsuko, calling him, trying to reach him.

Mitsuko had gotten a strange visitor in the middle of the night, by Kira. Only, it hadn't been Kira. It was someone else, using Kira as a vessal. Mitsuko could tell that the being that talked to her was not the same Kira who had pushed her into the dark portal, but the strange voice had told her many things, and she had been trying all day to reach Hitomu. Now she felt his connection, and she almost broke her concentration because she was so happy. Mitsuko, you're alive! Are you okay? Are you hurt? "I'm fine, But Hitomu, you need to listen to me. Kira is not what she seems to be. You can't trust her! Can you hear me? Hitomu? Do you understand? Hello? Hitomu?" But it was too late. The connection was broken. She didn't know how much he'd heard. I just hope he heard enough. She thought as she sat on the floor of her dungeon.

Hitomu had broken the connection by mistake when a large heartless came flying towards him and almost took him out. He dizzied it with aero and then tried to get back to his sister, but something was blocking the connection. He hadn't heard what she was saying, it got cut off right after she said "Kira." He figured she probably was worried about him and she hoped he was stil with Kira, where he was safe. He wanted to reassure her that he was alright, but he couldn't get the connection back.

Kira had been just in time. As soon as she realized what was happening, she sent a heartless to startle the boy, making him lose the connection. Then she sent a dark presence to hinder their efforts. The darker the surroundings, the harder it was for two hearts of light to connect. That was why it was so difficult for Sora to connect with Riku, and had been for all those years, because Riku had steeped his heart with darkness, and even now wasn't entirely rid of it.

 

I'll let them settle this matter. Shane thought as he went through his doorway to another world. Once he stepped out of it, he found himself at another seemingly peaceful world. Aside from the giant ruined catsle standing out, you would think that nothing bad ever happends. Wonder how long this place will stay peaceful. He thought as he headed into the town.

 

R looked up at the incoming attack. He hadn't the time to dodge it so he took a gamble, Concentrating all the energy he had left into a barrier, He braced for impact. If it managed to block it, He would be able to get several hits in, if not the damage would be critical.

 

"Pardon me," Merlin said suddenly. Then he turned towards a nerby chair and pointed his wand at it, making it come alive and dance towards the table. He set it down in a clear spot and then pointed his wand at a cupboard, which opened and pulled out another set of tea things, which flew over to the table and landed near the chair. "Excuse me, ladies," he said. "But I must go and meet the other guest. I will return." With that, he left the house.

As Riku landed, the replica seemed to have created a barrier. His attack, which normally would have been a fatl blow, now glanced off the replica as if he had swung a wooden sword at him, hard enough to hurt for a second, but not able to create any damage whatsoever. Now he was open to attack, and there was nothing he could do about it.

Sora landed the gummi ship on the bridge at Beast's Castle, and then ran into the courtyard. There, on the ground, lay the Prince. They all rushed forward, and knelt down to see him. He was almost dead. Sora felt sick with worry. What if Riku hadn't got there on time? If the enemy had been able to do this to the Prince, what had he done to Kairi? He turned to wards the castle doors, and began to run towards them, to go inside, but they were barred shut. He would have to go through the secret passages. Running towards the four stone angels, he pushed them into a certain pattern and an opening in the wall appeared. He ran towards it.
