So, does the Color Tone mean really just a color they're associated with? And also, so if you make a pactio, then the ministra is like a summon..?I'm kinda confused.

A more detailed explanation of Pactios

Okay, here's the deal with Color Tone:

The circle in the background is the contract's magic base. A simple thing made up of the 12 zodiac signs and a six pointed star.

    The Pactio numbers:

That last statement I didn't think about when I gave it to Roxas. :sweatdrop:

    Directions:

    Virtues:

    Astrology:

When a Pactio is done between the Magister and a Ministra, this card is the contract that appears. The Magister usually keeps the original copy. This enables him/her to do two things:

To open a telepathic link between the Magister and the Ministra.
To summon the Ministra to his/her side when needed.

However, the max distance between them is about 10 km. Any more and neither of these functions will work.

Copies of the card may be created for the Ministra for him/her to keep.

If the Ministra is left to defend for him/herself, the Pactio card is used to summon a unique magical artifact that is relevant to his or her personality. To summon the artifact, the user simply chants "Adeat" which is Latin for "Come." To put it away, the incantation is "Abeat."

When a Ministra summons his/her artifact, the card itself transforms into the weapon/object. Kinda like how Sora and Riku can summon their Keyblades at will, except the Ministra needs to be holding the card and actually say the incantation.

The pactio also enables the Magister to transfer some of his/her magical abilities to the Ministra, improving their natural capabilities by ten-fold.

There are three types of Pactios:

Botched Pactio: These cards are tend to be poorly drawn and are extremely specific, providing very little information. The titles that are given are blunt and not very flattering. (So if it was a botched card of Namine for example, instead of "Memoria Veneficus," the title on the card could be "Timid Blonde.") These are usually created if a mistake is done during the Pactio's ceremony before completion, such as an interruption or not kissing each other on the lips. The botched cards provide little to no effect and cannot be used to summon anything.

Temporary Pactio: This is the most common pactio. They're also known as Probationary Contracts. These are the ones that are seen up above. Unlike a Permanent Pactio, a Magister can have multiple Temporary Pactios at once. In other words, one Magister can have several Ministra partners.

Permanent Pactio: It's exactly like a Temporary Pactio, but with one key difference. Once a Permanent Pactio is formed, it is impossible to form any more Temporary Pactios. Also, if the Magister becomes deceased, the Permanent Pactio card's text is in majority wiped clean except the name of the Ministra. Usually a romantic relationship occurs between the Magister and Ministra shortly afterwards (but only male/female pairings).

And that is pretty much all you need to know about Pactio cards. To be honest, I didn't do most of the research when creating these, but it turned out all right in the finished product. Any other questions? :D

    1. I'll get to them when I can. They're really time-consuming (and I was going to do Riku anyway).

    2. My literary works take priority first. I'll do these when I'm bored and I have the free time.

    3. So far I've gotten requests for Cloud, Riku and Jack Sparrow. So those three would keep me busy for awhile.

    4. As for where I make them...I just take the empty pactio card template and go from there. And let me tell you, doing the right text and colors are the hardest to create from scratch. :dead:

Guys, try to limit the requesting.. You don't want to burry Destiny's Force alive, aye? Judging by his last post he is juggling a lot of tasks already, so be patient. :3

I've lurked your thread - it's a very good idea! :3 I'm also a Negima fan, so everytime you whip up a new card I enjoy studying each detail for each character. Keep it up. ^^
