This would b better suited in the KH section.

Anyhoo, it's was on the PS2 probably because the PS2 was the best selling console, so the game would have a better chance at making good sales.

No, the reason is simple: Sony and Squaresoft were very close during the reign of the PS2. They still seem to be pretty close, but Square is drifting away from Sony...

    >_>; I didn't say that Square and Nintendo were close, just the Sony and Square's relationship is started to fade.

Square never had a relationship with Sony, they go where the money is.

That is where you are wrong. Sony and Square had a good relationship. They don't 'go where the money is' they stuck with Sony and think that's it's becomming bad for their business, so they are branching out.

If they stuck with Sony, why is games from Sqaure coming out for DS, Wii and Xbox 360? Why did Chain of Memories go on GBA.

No, I don't think it'll ever be on Xbox. And this should be moved to KH.

KH was on PS2 as many Square-Enix 'role-playing' games are. Square-Enix has made games for the Gamecube etc. The point with dealing with Nintendo, Sony etc comes down to the point of where the game would do best. Each company that makes the consoles does have a decision on accepting games or denying them for the consoles, and yes, sometimes they are denied despite popularity potential.

If you look at all 3 former consoles, you can clearly pretty much determine what games will go to where. I've sat around with friends, no joke, and we've guessed before we were sure, where lists games were going before we were told. We were all pretty close to correct. It's not that any system necessarily is 'better' but more an issue of what is permitted to be on a console by the company's way of marketing and business and also game creators are going to try to put games with a console with like games because audiences will see it and pick it up more readily. Since Square-Enix runs a lot of RPG type serious games along with others and quite a few RPGs go to Sony consoles and people who buy Sony consoles usually are the more role-player sorts of gamers, well...it all adds up that you put a game where it's going to do well and also attract people who actually go for those things.

If you need proof to that, play any FF game on PS2 and PS1 and then play FF Crystal Chronicles. Any game that goes to nintendo really is made to be in a quality that is different and the reason is Nintendo's policy. As for why it's not on the Xbox, again, same reason, the types of games and audience is different. Square-Enix has worked for some time with Sony because of the games they make and genre and Sony has always taken them. They have had more liberal freedom in that regards. Yes, lately there were some issues, but it happens. Console businesses and the game creators are going to have fallouts from time to time. If by some chance, Sony did ever go down, Xbox probably would be the console Square-Enix would turn to because even if it isn't their top choice, they have a closer relation to the type of games Square makes.
