    Kingdom Hearts: Maiden’s Focus

    Why hello there everyone.
I have never written a fan fiction before, albeit I’ve read my fair share.
For those of you who know me, I’m a Creative Writing student and am currently writing several novels of my own right now.
However, a while ago, I had an idea for a Kingdom Hearts story and never chose to act on it... until now that is.
Don’t ask why... Even I don’t know. I just had the urge as more ideas rushed forwards.
Now, I need to go through some business before the story begins.
This is set in the Kingdom Hearts universe. That much is obvious. However, the characters from the series will not be in this... they will be mentioned and yes they do exist, but you’ll see why they aren’t a part of this... physically so to speak as the story progresses.

All newly mentioned characters in this story are made by me and in fact come from my previous novels (of course, they have been edited to fit into the KH universe.)

The exception to this is as follows:

    • The character Garxena who is a cameo of... you guessed it. KHV’s very own Garxena.

I take no credit for the usual KH terms and characters that you guys should all know.
They belong to Square-Enix and Disney respectively.
All other characters belong to me, (again with the exception of Garxena).

As for updates with this story... they may be fast or they may be slow depending on my real life situations. I do apologise in advance if you don’t hear from this story for a long time.

    With that...
    Let us begin.

    #################################################################

    Prequel – Part 1: A Maiden’s duty.

‘It is said in every world... that where there is light... there is darkness... and between that, there is nothing.
    But what is the parallel?
The answer to that question is shrouded in mystery...
If one universe exists...Is there another that runs beside it? Just like Light and Darkness?
    Yes. There is...’

    ~

There she knelt, praying... The Maiden. Divine and pure, she was the salvation to keeping the balance in this universe. Just like the other universe had those known as the Princesses of Heart.

“You’ve had another vision?” she was asked...

“...Yes, Three will fall due to one man’s desire. But where they fall... three shall rise, and save the balance. Everything is linked by one of the three. He will hold the ‘key’ to the future. He who will experience all sides. The balance of light, darkness, and nothingness.” She spoke softly, her voice like a melody that sung around the empty room.

“The other universe... it truly is a marvel... unaware of our presence and yet... it depends on us as we do on it. If one of us falls... so will the other.” A somewhat aged man spoke, stepping forwards from the darkness.

“Master Xeffrey.” A second came forward to address the first. “Our universe... the balance has been undone.
If this universe falls, then the other will too... We are desperate. This is our ultimate time of need. Do you in all of your wisdom have a solution to our plight?”

Master Xeffrey looked towards the man. “Stay calm, Sakai. The answer is already known to our dear maiden.”

Sakai looked towards the Maiden... his wife. “Renka, is this true... is there no other way?”

At last she stood, and revealed her beautiful green emerald eyes, her long black hair flowing to the ground and reaching her ankles. “It is unfortunate... but it is true. As Maiden, it is my duty to restore the balance.” She gave him a warm smile to show she held no fear, her beauty was enough to calm any soul... but this time, Sakai was not easily convinced.

“But it’s not your fault that the balance inside Kingdom Hearts was disrupted! Why must it come to this?!” Sakai shouted, he then dropped to his knees, his voice barely audible. “...What of our daughter?”

“Enough!” The old man, Master Xeffrey announced. “This is hard on everyone, but the Maiden’s duty is absolute. Yes, we do not know who threw Kingdom Hearts itself into chaos, but it is done!
I will make sure your daughter is safe... You have my word.
Renka, is our last hope right now. For both universes.”

Sakai slowly nodded and stood up, taking a deep breath. “Then... I’m coming too.”
Renka smiled at him warmly, taking his hand. “Thank you. Everything will be alright.” She told him as she pulled him into a hug. However unseen by Sakai, she gave an unreadable look to Master Xeffrey, who just seemed to ignore it like he too hadn’t noticed it.

The two lovers separated, as Renka walked gracefully to a nearby crib.
A baby girl, lay asleep inside, unaware of what was going on around her. Renka bent over the crib and whispered some words that were not heard by the others. Then... she removed the blue flower from her hair and placed it in her child’s hands. She placed a finger on the flower for a brief second before muttering a single word... The flower briefly shined and sparkled before returning to its regular state.
    “Leon.” She then called softly.
The doors to the room opened and in walked a man donned in armour, his helmet under his arm.”Yes, mi’lady.” He answered.

Renka also smiled at him and his usual formality. “Leon, you don’t have to be so formal. You are our friend.”
Leon moved to stand next to Sakai, his best friend since childhood. “Yes, but I am also your knight.”
Renka slowly picked up her child, cradling her in her arms before walking over to the two.
She then looked at Master Xeffrey. “If it’s all the same, Master. I would like it if you come with us. Instead, I would trust the well being of my daughter to Leon.”

Master Xeffrey looked surprised for a brief instance, but then he nodded. “Very well.”

Leon looked at Renka in surprise as he was handed the child. “Me?”

Renka kissed the baby’s fore-head and then Leon’s. “Yes, you are her knight now. So... please...”
Sakai looked at his best friend with a serious look as he went and kissed his child’s fore-head too and then patted the knight on the shoulder. “We’re trusting you. You know what we must do.”
Leon’s face showed realisation and shock, but he quickly hid it. It was all a matter of duty.
“I will make sure your trust is well placed.”
“We don’t doubt it.” Sakai laughed. Then his face turned grim.
“...It is time.” He looked to his wife and then to his Master.

Both nodded, and then the three turned to leave the room at once. Renka, arm in arm with Sakai as she took a glance back at her friend and her daughter for the final time, a look of sadness on her face for one brief moment. A look that Leon barely managed to notice himself.

    Prequel – Part 2: A Maiden’s Sacrifice.

The Maiden, the wielder and the master entered the large chamber where an engraving of a heart with symbols on the floor appeared the moment her foot made contact with the centre of the room.

She took in a deep breath. “Let us begin.”

    ~

Leon walked back and forth frantically... the baby still in his arms as he rocked her back and forth gently. His helmet on a table not too far away.
...so it had come to this, there really was no other option? Well... it had to be.
Sakai wasn’t the type to give up. He must have contended the option many times before. Sakai was always stubborn, but... not with Renka. She was the only one ever to change his mind on anything. If even Sakai was going along with this, then it must be the only true option.
But something felt wrong... It was the way she had looked at him before leaving. It was natural she would be sad, but it was like her look conveyed something else. There was also the fact he himself had been entrusted with their daughter. Yes... he was Godfather, but... it was the way she had emphasized to Master Xeffrey that she wanted her daughter to be cared for by the young knight instead...
...There was something he was missing. A fear beat heavily in his heart as he left the room.
    He had to do something.

    ~

Renka held out her hand as a bright white light shimmered from nowhere and a blade in the shape of a key appeared.
Sakai too mimicked her as there was a flash before him and a key shaped blade finally appeared in his hand.
This was followed by Master Xeffrey who in a flash of black sparks, made his Key shaped blade appear.
They crossed their blades in front of them and pointed them upwards in unison, lights emitting from the tips as a giant door appeared in front of them.

“...There is no going back.” Sakai muttered to Renka, a worried look on his freckled face.
“Thank you for coming with me.” She told him taking his hand.

She then stepped forward, her hand separating from his and she knelt in front of the door and placed her weapon in front of her. Both Sakai and Master Xeffrey took their places either side and slightly back from her as she began to pray.
Kingdom Hearts. Like the other universe, this universe also had a Kingdom Hearts. Both were the only connection between the two universes.
If the Kingdom Hearts of this universe plummeted, then the other Kingdom Hearts in turn would be effected.
At last... she stood up taking her key into her hand swiftly and she spun around pointing it at the door as a bright light yet again emanated from the tip and pierced the door, it slowly opening.
“Under my divine protection... we shall enter.” She whispered.
She took a few steps, and entered the door. The other two hit buttons on their left sides as armour magically equipped to them both and then they swiftly followed their maiden to the inside.

    ~

Leon ran down the street... he looked up at the sky to see the heart shaped moon above them, a big crack in the middle, but not completely severed yet.
He now wearing his helmet, held the child in one arm as he summoned a key shaped blade of his own. He pointed it forward and a portal of light appeared... he stepped through it into a new world.
...He had a hunch, and right now... he had to act on it, yes he was told to protect the child. But... surely the child would be better off with it’s own parents.
He stopped outside a building, dispelling his armour. She would be safe for the meantime in this world, he could always come and retrieve her after he was done.
He placed the baby on the step making sure she still had the flower her mother had left her. Then... he dug into his pockets and found a photograph along with a sealed envelope. He also left both with the child...
He then knocked on the door and left swiftly, stepping back through a new portal of light as he donned his armour again.
The sign above the door read... ‘Twilight Town - Orphanage.’

    ~

The world through the door to Kingdom Hearts was literally swirling chaos. It could not be described in words... it was something you had to see and feel for yourself.
The chaos started to shift and form into physical manifestations that began to lurk towards the three.

“We shall protect you.” Sakai told his wife.
She nodded and knelt down to pray again, the key shaped blade laying in front of her. Memories of her life and images of her happiest moments flashing through her mind.

The other two also set to work, their blades slashing easily through the chaos around them. But... they wouldn’t hold out for long. They were literally in the Lion’s Nest.
They were being surrounded at an alarming rate.

The Maiden slowly stood, picking up her blade and began to dance, whirling her weapon around her in a graceful manner.
If it wasn’t for what they were facing... this dance would be almost beautiful to behold.
Her movements picked up speed as the dance became more desperate...
The fighting of the Old Master and younger Wielder matching it in tempo.
Then at last, she took her final pose. Holding the weapon of balance towards herself. Then she thrust the ‘Keyblade’ towards her own chest as her body dispersed in a blaze of light.
Immediately, the chaos inside Kingdom Hearts began to calm as Sakai watched the heart of his beloved float away.
...There was a gleam in Master Xeffrey’s eyes as he smirked darkly. It had gone as planned.
He turned his Keyblade on his ally, thrusting it through Sakai’s chest.

Sakai’s eyes opened in shock... “But... why?”
Xeffrey started to laugh. “Just fade into the darkness that is despair and join your wife.”
Sakai began to fade... but this didn’t go unwitnessed.

Leon screamed out having arrived just too late.
    “No!”
He charged forwards, ripping his helmet off as he summoned his Keyblade and slammed it against Xeffrey’s. “What the hell are you doing?!”

The Keyblade Master chuckled. “It was I who threw Kingdom Hearts into chaos.” He revealed... as he swung his Keyblade in a wide arc and forced Leon flying backwards. “I tried to claim it’s power for myself. But alas... I failed.
But now I know why. So... I needed another chance. But how could I claim that chance if the universe itself was going to end. For that, I needed our dear Maiden.”

Leon charged forwards again. “We trusted you!”

“Oh did you? I don’t think the Maiden did... I think she knew all along. She probably believes that the child she wisely left in your care instead of mine will be able to put things right. Well, I’m afraid not.
After I dispose of you... I shall take care of the child too.”

The two clashed desperately, Keyblade against Keyblade, magic against magic.
It became quickly apparent that Leon wasn’t going to win, as he was smashed across the face hard, cutting his left eye.
He clutched his face... but it wasn’t over.
“...I made a promise to Renka and Sakai... do you honestly think I am going to let you have your way. You will not harm the child.” He yelled positioning himself just right.
Xeffrey smirked as his Keyblade became engulfed in Darkness and sent Leon flying backwards. “As if you could stop me.”

Leon went flying through the door of Kingdom Hearts, but this time it was his turn to smirk.
He threw his Keyblade towards one of the double doors. It bouncing off hard and forcing the door to close shut, it rebounded across the room and hit the other door closing it shut too before returning to Leon’s hand.
“WHAT?!” Xeffrey roared as he ran towards the door in a swift manner for a man of his age.
But it was too late... Leon pointed his Keyblade towards the door.
The kiss on his fore-head earlier hadn’t been an ordinary kiss. Normally, it required people on two sides to lock the door to Kingdom Hearts... but... It seems Renka really had predicted all of this.
Leon had received the Maiden’s Blessing... it meant right now. He had the blessing to do one thing that was needed most.
This was for the future. A light erupted from his Keyblade and charged to the door. Locking it instantly.
Leon slowly got to his feet... panting.

...Master Xeffrey was locked inside Kingdom Hearts. But... there were ways to escape. That was for sure.

    Leon slowly skulked away.
The universes were safe thanks to Renka’s sacrifice... but at what cost?
    ...No. darker times lurked ahead.
Leon felt ashamed, he had failed to protect the two people closest to him.
He looked to the ceiling... and screamed. A single tear tracing down his face.

    ~

Inside Kingdom Hearts. The Keyblade Master laughed after his fit of rage...
So... his plans would be delayed. No matter. He had waited this long.
    He could wait some more.

    ~

In another world, a young child was sleeping in a crib.
She had a blue undying flower next to her and a photo of her parents, who looked so happy together.
In her dreams... she heard the last words her mother had whispered to her not so long ago.

    ‘No matter what happens.
No matter what destiny awaits you.
Me and your father, even if we are no longer with you... We will love you forever, Suki.’

This needs to be continued. This seems like a pretty good story. I almost thought Leon might have been the same Leon as the one of Kingdom Hearts but it's cool that you reused the names.
I couldn't mind anything wrong with spelling or grammar, but heck I'm not an editor XD
One thing I have to say though- No cameo for your own sister? I'm hurt xD I kid I kid xD
I really hope you update soon. =) Good Luck with this.

    *face palms*
...I completely forgot there was already a Leon in KH... I mean, naturally I knew of good 'ol Squall, it just slipped my mind as I was writing this...
    XD

Nah... this Leon is one of my own characters. :P
He is sort of the Cid of my books if you will.
Like how Final Fantasy always has a Cid. Each of my books always has a Leon. XD
But cheers for pointing that out lol

I've got the entire story planned out in my mind with more coming to me at every given moment.
It's just a case of writing it out lol.

...I'm gonna think of a way to use this Leon thing to my advantage lol (I mean... heck... so what if there is more than one Leon? :P There are a lot of people in the world who share the name 'Chris' XD)
    Cheers for the comments anyway.

    Oh god.

    .....That. Was. Beautiful.

I loved how you put things into detail; I mean I could actually picture lots O' things.
And, Suki? Reminds me of a certain Thirteen year old Keyblade weilder from a long time ago.....;)
Anywho, this NEEDS to be finished, I quite liked it.

Since I know the characters somewhat, I can see that they really fit well in the Kingdom Hearts universe already. This I really like, that's for sure.
Yes, like everybody else seems to think; this should be continued when you're able to, since it's really good.

this is one of the best fanfics ive read in a long time. the story is solid, the spelling, grammar and sentence structure are very good and the characters are engaging. i have one issue with how you formatted some of your paragraphs. for example:

theres a lot of lines here which could be paragraphs. i think a better format would be:

like this. but, its your story and i do admit, the way you formatted it draws the eye and makes the story more interesting. its your choice.

    No, thank you. XD
I take all advice and recommendations to heart in order to try and improve myself as a writer.
It is much appreciated and I shall definitely consider it in future.

One of the other things I myself am aware of is I need to be careful with all usage of '...'
It's a bad habit of mine to overuse it XD

So good! 8D I read this before I went to work (you know that!) and it's all I thought about during my shift. <3

The formatting used to bug me (when I first RPed with you lol) but I like it now. I mean, it's different and it keeps my attention; plus, it's not like it's official writing or anything. You've got your own style and that's a good thing. (:

I can't wait to see how you put Garxena into it! :woohoo:

    Finally read it. xD

Alright, so there were some instances where I thought that you could split up a sentence into two.

In this case, there was a lot going on within the sentence, and all of the action just seemed to rush at you. Maybe splitting it up to be
(Granted, the ending of that sentence is a bit awkward xD)

Also, I think you could fix your formatting around. The way it is now is certainly readable, and you did the dialogue correctly (starting a new line when a character started to speak), but there were a few times where that character's same line was also started on a new line, which made things a bit confusing.

As for the story itself, I really like the concept you have here. A pair of Kingdom Hearts keeping both universes stable has a yin-tang parallel to it, which is evidenced by this significantly darker universe (as compared to the KH universe). While I was reading, I almost immediately pegged Xeffery as a Xehanort parallel, and was so happy when he was actually evil. xD And so far, I can't help but to think that Leon's death is going to come soon, since Suki is the destined child, and has some pretty thick plot armor right now. Anyway, this is a great story you have Bushy, and I look forward to reading more. c:

Chapter One – A letter, a flower and a photo.

    Thirteen years later...

The young girl sat in the sandlot, hugging her knees as she watched the other children fight in mock-struggle battles.
She could hear their gleeful cries and cheers of happiness. She could never be a part of that.
She was just too different as she had often been told.
‘But... why?’ She had to ponder... what was it about her that made her so different from everyone else? That made them so afraid of her?

It's not like she liked to play Struggle games, but she did wish dearly that she could play with the other children. She may have been used to feeling alone by now... but she didn't have to like it.
She sighed deeply, her quiet timid voice making a barely audible sound as she looked up at the sky as she often did, wondering if things would ever change or if she would have to go through days like this forever.

It had been the same ever since she could remember. She had been told that she had been found on the door-step of the orphanage as just a baby. She had very few items with her. But even today she treasured them all deeply.

There was the letter first of all. It contained a few essential details such as her name and birthday, but nothing else. Not even an explanation of why she had been left.
All it had contained after the details were the following words:

Suki had read the letter countless times... but she couldn’t comprehend it even today.
If she was so loved... why had she been given away?
What were these circumstances beyond any control?
Who was ‘L’ and why had he never come back?
...It was a horrible and terrifying thought to her, but it was like the undertones of the letter and some distinct unreadable feeling in her heart was telling her something ominous.
Her parents were dead... or they had been in danger, and so had she. She had no idea why she thought of this... but she knew at least that her parents were no longer with her, and this ‘L’ had seen fit to put her in this orphanage.
It’s not like she held any blame for this person though. She had come to live with this fact.

The next item was a blue flower of some type that she had never seen before on this world.
She’d kept this flower with her ever since her birth and the weird thing about it was... even to this day. The flower had never withered and died.

Lastly, there was a photo of two happy adults and a young baby in the arms of the mother. She now of course knew that naturally these were her parents and she herself was the child.
Looking at her parents in the picture and to how she was now... she bore such a resemblance to them both it was astonishing.
In particular she looked the spitting image of her mother.
She had her Mother’s emerald green eyes, such a vivid and bright colour that anyone looking into them could get lost in her gaze for hours. She also shared her mother’s long pitch black dark hair.
In the photo, her Mother’s hair reached down to her ankles as it was left to flow freely. Suki’s hair itself reached down to just her waist and instead of flowing free, it was done up in a twin tail style and she had the blue flower pinned to her hair right by one of her twin tails.
It was an important possession to her... and the reason was, her mother had the exact same flower in her hair for the photo. It just felt like it was something she should keep close.
Literally, if you looked at her now, you’d have thought Suki was a younger version of the woman from the picture.
The only slight difference was that Suki’s face was gently covered in faint freckles, just like her father.
She looked at their happy faces and had to wonder again... if they were so happy, what could have changed everything?
Could it have been this ‘L’ who had taken the picture?
There was one other thing that crossed her mind too. The background of the photo... it was odd. It looked out of place compared to how Twilight Town looked. It was like another world almost.
She laughed at the thought slightly when it had first occurred. Maybe that would explain why she didn’t seem to fit in here.

Everyone, including the adults, they just treated her differently like she didn’t belong... Like she was completely out of place or like she was some sort of monster.
Once when she was much younger, she had asked them why.
Most had ignored her and told her to go away, it was only the orphanage owner who had given her a straight answer... and even then it had been a confusing one.
They had said that it was like she has some sort of aura around her, a really strong presence, almost like a strange power. It felt very overwhelming to them, and very foreign.

‘If I'm so different, then why did I end up here and not in a world where people would accept me?’ she thought to herself as she watched the clouds overhead, it was almost like she was looking for hints of other worlds in the very sky.
‘I wonder if my parents died looking for a similar answer... if they were like me... although I guess they had each other at least...
As for me, I have nobody...’

She sighed deeply again, "Will things ever change I wonder?" she whispered to herself almost as if she was hoping for somebody to respond to her.

A voice then rung out to her from nowhere:

    Things will change.
But only if you can open the door.

    ################################################################

Right... Just to clarify when I'm talking and it's not part of the story... from here on, I shall do things in yellow.

So, yes. Not much happens in this chapter, it just sets things up a little, raises a few questions and most importantly it introduces the Heroine of 'Maiden's Focus'
Sorry this one was so short, but I figured it'd be better to end the chapter on a familiar little cliff hanger.

Forgive the odd paragraph spacing at the beginning as I had to do that to get the quote of the letter in the right place so it wouldn't disrupt the picture.
Also, yes, I made the picture on GIMP. It is a re-skin of the character Tohsaka from Fate Stay/Night.
It's the closest thing I can find to what Suki looks like, it's not a perfect representation, but it will do unless I develop some super drawing skills :P

Next chapter should have more action and not be as short as this one.
Uni time is approaching faster though, so as usual, I cannot guarantee when the next update will be.
Anyway, any comments and feedback on this will be appreciated and yeah. XD

    Thank you for reading.

I enjoyed reading through all of your chapters thus far.

What I like about this was the fact that while you did have Square characters in it, there were also characters unrelated to the any Square games.

I do think you overdid it with the number signs, but other than that, it was great.

    I'm looking forward to more.

    9/10.

Um... I'm sorry? I feel a bit confused.
I have no Square characters actually in this story as I explained in the beginning note before the story began. So... I don't really get what you meant... lol
Also, what do you mean by number signs and overusing them?

If you're referring to this: ##############

I simply did that to show the end of a chapter etc as I wanted it to be clear.

This was good, since it clearly set up the background for Suki, though I think it was a bit too short in comparrison to the previous chapter. I think the next chapter might have been better included as part of this one, or perhaps you should have started further back than you did in order to flesh it out a bit more, but I get that you wanted to seperate the nonaction and action somehow, so it works.
You've misused '...' again, where ',' would have been more appropriate, but I'm sure you know that already.
So yeah, other than a few grammatical errors like that which I can't help but be bugged by, it's really good, as all your stories I've seen so far have been. Keep it up.

Don't forget that the previous instalment was set up in two separate chapters (uh... prologue parts)
That's why the first part seems incredibly long, I just posted them together as one post instead of doing one prologue part and then the second in a later post.

I'm also aware of my '...' tendencies. I am trying to work on it, but yeah lol.
    Anyway, thanks for the feedback.

The prologue was two chapters? No wonder I thought it was longer. Okay, ignore that part then, just uh... carry on. My feedback was been nullified. D:

Chapter Two – Dive to the Heart.

...A voice then rung out to her from nowhere:
    Things will change.
But only if you can open the door.

Suki looked around in a panic trying to determine where the voice had come from. It quickly occurred to her that there were no longer any children in the area, and that suddenly she was alone in the empty Sandlot.
But how and why? ...surely she would have noticed such a thing, right?
She felt a cold shiver run up her spine as dread filled her entire body. Whose voice was that? ...It didn’t sound like a voice at all, but it was at the same time. It was wordless and none existent, yet it had been there. It was almost as if it was a voice of words on a page to be read. But... it wasn't. It was an inner voice but completely external. So many contradictions got Suki’s mind spinning as she tried to figure it out.
She was just about to ask "W...what do-" but her stutter was cut off by the stretching of shadows from the tall buildings in the area. From the shadows emerged more shadows, but... these shadows where above the ground, they... were physical.
"W-what the?" she stuttered again, but this time in fear... she could tell these things were dangerous, and they were quickly approaching her.

Suki backed away as far as she could, only to feel her back up against a wall. She began to panic even more... "Is this how it ends? Before I've even had a chance to begin?"
The shadows crawled closer and closer. A soundless voice boomed out from nowhere again.

It's okay. Only you can open the door.

Suki was about to yell out for it to explain, for it to help her, but then she felt the surface behind her change. It morphing right at her very touch. She turned around to see a huge smooth white door. "A door? Is this what the voice meant?"
She no longer had time to think things through, the shadows had nearly reached her. She clutched the handle, felt a burning light sensation travel through her body, and she opened it.
Suddenly, Suki was falling. She felt as if she was drifting along a sea and that the tide was carrying her body to it's destination. It was surprisingly very calming despite her situation. It felt like a relief as she just closed her eyes as she let herself drift away.
Was time even passing? She couldn't tell and so she opened her eyes to find that she was drifting in the darkness upside down to a circular platform that was completely white.
The moment she was close enough, her body slowly turned upright and landed with a soft pat onto the platform, the white dissolved like thousands of butterflies fleeing from the ground at her arrival. In place of the white that was there moments before, there was now a mosaic pattern of two boys, one spiky brown haired boy and another spiky blond haired boy who
both looked quite similar to each other. Who are they? she thought to herself.
"...and where am I?" she then asked aloud, but only to hear no reply.
At least, wherever she was, she was safe for now. But she could see no way off of the platform she was on. It felt like she could hear a faint soothing choir in her heart as she peered out through the vast darkness around her and suddenly saw a small light, it seemed to grow and expand and another platform appeared not far from her connected with what looked like crystal clear glass steps, only visible thanks to the small illumination of the light that was hovering over the next platform. She could feel the warmth and safety of the light even from here.
    The voice spoke again:

Yes. You must always look through the darkness to see the light.

"The light..." Suki repeated it to herself...
She tried to cast her fear aside and began climbing the glass steps to the next platform, and towards that safe warm light that seemed to be guiding her.

Suki reached the next platform, the mosaic pattern this time was of three girls.
One had a warm red colour in her hair, one was blond wearing a white dress, and the last had black hair and was wearing a black cloak. Again they all looked similar to each other. Suki wondered who they were and what connection they had to each other and the boys from before.
She became aware that the orb of light had vanished again so she peered out through the darkness like before, and again; she quickly found the light which seemed to expand at her gaze and reveal yet another platform.

You must keep a strong heart when surrounded by the unknown.

She moved along to the next platform, again there was a mosaic platform... a boy with Silver hair and yellow attire this time and behind him seemed to be a Shadowy figure... a man with a dark look in his eyes and a sadistic grin. Then there was another platform with again some people she didn't know making up the picture, they all looked like Princesses this time. She continued this pattern of seeking the light and crossed platform after platform, each of them with their own brightly coloured mosaic patterns of different people, some human... Some not, which ranged from a Mouse looking creature to a Duck and a... Dog thing? There were some covered in cloaks much like the girl from the earlier platform and the Emblem of a XIII. There were three armoured figures and in front of them on the mosaic pattern were three youths to match. One of the boys looked like one of the guys from the First Platform.
She heard various terms as she made her journey, such as:

    "Keyblade."
    "Other worlds."
    "Heartless."
    "Nobody."

The words seemed to resonate with her mind, and she just knew deep down that these were things she wouldn't be forgetting any time soon. Everything that the voice was saying was definitely important...
At last when she looked out at the light and the next platform appeared, she noticed this one was pure white just like the very first platform had been on that time, and the orb of light was much bigger than it had been before.

You must seek the light, even when surrounded by darkness.

She crossed the stairs one last time, and as she approached the middle of the platform, the white again dissolved like thousands of butterflies flying away in a calm frenzy. She looked at the mosaic pattern and this time was taken back at what she saw.
    It was her. But why?

Remember... the closer you get to the light... the bigger your shadow becomes...

Suki looked down to indeed find her shadow had become much bigger in the blinding light up above. Her shadow began to flutter and seemed to stretch, and detach itself from her. It morphed in front of her eyes, similar to how the shadows back in Twilight Town had appeared from the buildings before. A gigantic and formidable creature loomed over her.

But... don't be afraid... and remember... you aren't alone. You are the chosen one of this universe, destined to open the door.

Suki was feeling a mix of emotions right now. She was confused by everything the voice was saying, everything that was going on for that matter. She was terrified of the colossal being looming over her. She yelled out for the voice to tell her anything else, anything that could help her, but she got no response this time.
The creature suddenly raised and slammed down a gigantic fist forcing Suki to leap to the side to avoid being flattened. She began to run back to the other platforms, but came to a halt at the edge when she realised the others were gone. She was trapped.
A sudden stomp caused the pedestal to shake, Suki lost her balance and fell over the edge just barely grabbing onto the side in time.
"I... I can't do this... I don't want to die, I've never had to fight anyone or anything before!" she cried out as a big fist clamped around her, and lifted her up. Suki was now on eye level with creature. She screamed as the creature tossed her into his mouth and swallowed her whole.

    ...
    ..
    .
    ..
    ...

Suki awoke... surrounded by everlasting darkness. She could feel it smothering her from all sides like a smog. Pressing against her in an uncomfortable fashion like it was trying to consume her.
She felt cold... She was trying to recall what was happening... but her memory was fuzzy, it felt like the darkness was seeping into her.
    "Was there always... this darkness?"
She tried to focus her thoughts, it was becoming harder to stay awake.
She began to recall a voice, it had told her something important. She tried to get a firm grasp on her memories: 'You must seek the light, even when surrounded by darkness.'
That's what she remembered. So she looked everywhere for a light, but to no avail.
'You must keep a strong heart when surrounded by the unknown.' she recalled.
    "Light? Heart?"
She decided she would give it one more shot, that she would not give up, and so... she searched inside her own heart for the answer.
It was their... that she found her light.
Immediately, she was flying through the air, she burst out of the giant creatures mouth and landed on the ground on one knee.
In her right hand she held a key shaped blade. It was a blade of black and red in a powerful shape. Suki could feel the power of her own heart resonating with this blade.

    '...Keyblade.'
This was her Keyblade. It was her 'Awakened Focus.'
Yes... that was the name of this Keyblade; 'Awakened Focus.'
This information swam into her mind like she had known it her whole life. It was like she was meant to know.

Suki stood up and turned to face her opponent, it was clutching it's face like it was in agony. She had never fought anything in her life before. But there was always a first time for everything. She didn't want to fight. It's just that she had no choice. She had to believe that facing this enemy before her would put an end to this weirdness. After all, she had no method of escape. It was either fight, or die.
She readied her key shaped blade in front of her as the creature lashed out and sent a giant fist her way. She was still close to the edge which made it impossible to dodge, so she had to confront it straight on. The fist hit her blade hard but she was able to keep her footing and stop herself from being pushed backwards. She pushed against it and gripping onto her blade tightly she flourished it slicing through the shadow creatures hand with surprising ease. The creature reared backwards allowing Suki to gain some ground.
How had she done such a move? She didn't have time to think about that right now. The adrenaline pumping around her body was a new and unique feeling to her and her heart was guiding her right now to follow any instincts she had. It was the only way she would survive this. She was by no means an expert fighter but she knew she had to strike while she had such an opening. She readied her blade at her side and ran towards the creature. It roared and sent it's remaining fist forwards at her, which she avoided by jumping up into the air and onto it, she ran along the creatures arm and launched herself off of it and at it's head.
She slashed horizontally at it's face as she soared through the air, then she spun round and letting gravity power her strike, she slashed vertically along the creature's torso causing it to evaporate into smoke.
Suki ended up fumbling her landing and she hit the floor hard, her key shaped blade impaling itself into the ground a short distance away. She rolled onto her back and just lay there panting
    trying to catch her breath.

A few minutes passed and nothing else happened... she was safe.
Suki, finally got to her feet after having caught some of her breath back... This was one hell of a weird day. She looked around, a door like the one in which she had entered this place had now appeared on the edge of the platform. She went over to it to find it was locked. "Great... now what?"
A big keyhole suddenly appeared on the door. "A keyhole?" She looked over at her blade impaled into the floor a short distance away. "I wonder." she thought to herself.

    'A key opens doors.'

She approached it and held out her hand to grab it, but then she jumped in surprise as the Keyblade vanished and then reappeared in her hand in an instant flash. It seemed to guide her arm and point itself at the door, a beam of light erupted from it and hit the keyhole. The door opened.
"Will this take me back?" she said aloud to nobody in particular. She decided there was only one way to find out, and thus she stepped through the door.

Light blinded her as she was back in Twilight Town. Standing just outside of the station.
"Was all of that a dream...?"
But... it felt so real to her. What had just happened?

See? I promised that Chapter two would be longer and have more things happen. I was half tempted to split this into two chapters, but I figured it wasn't worth it. After all, most of this take place in Suki's 'Dive to the Heart.' So it just felt right to keep it that way.
Anyway, yup. You'll have noticed a lot of familiar terms and quotes. I felt it best to keep this part close to that of the original games just so the story has the Kingdom Hearts feel to it.
As you could tell from the mosaic patterns, those were the hidden links I told you about in my opening statement. That is pretty much the most you'll see about any of the games characters (with an exception of a few) as this is in a completely different universe as has been explained before. But yeah.

Anyway, the usual feedback and such will be appreciated, and I will answer any questions that I can.
As a final note, the next update may take a long while. I'm back at Uni now and free time is scarce as I have to write other stories and such for my class assessments.

Still... thanks for reading. I hope you are enjoying it so far. XD

PS: While writing this, I was listening to this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EhoGZNBBz98
XD, sets the scene and is very dramatic and awesome. Just thought you guys might like that. :P)

    FINALLY FINISHED.
I'm so sorry it took me so long to comment on this.

Anyways. I love it, you're a brilliant writer and I hope you write more soon and update. Screw Uni. B|

Your scenes are always so intense, and the music definitely helped with that at the end. XD You're very good at writing through different character's eyes and capturing emotion. I mean, honestly. This is awesome. Great job. c:
