They had barely gone anywhere before an ominous voice rang out around them as well as a clown like figure forming before them. The first thing that ran through Chrono's mind was if this was the clown that Bowler hat guy had mentioned. This was nothing like what he had pictured when he was told a clown had given him the idea. That lightning attack had certainly been no joke, but they were in fact still standing afterwards. Following Take's protective magic, Chrono had moved to attack the clown. First he struck with a blitz and followed it up with another slash from his keyblade.

"Don't be so rude to our new traveling companion." Thallasa scolded Illiana. "This is Fflewddur Fflam, a traveling bard. ...Er...did I say your name correctly, Fflam?"

"Perfectly!"

"Pleased to meet you, sir. I'm Eilonwy." Thallasa eyed the princess when she introduced herself, raising an eyebrow.

"And I'm Taran."

"And we should get moving." Thallasa stepped in to prevent people from joining in on the introductions. "There's no point in sticking around here. We need to get far from this place."

"Hold on! Where's Hen Wen?" Taran worriedly spoke.

"Aria got her out of harm's way but she ran off into the forest, from what we've been told." Seeing questions forming in the other's eyes she held up her hand to stop them. "Let's move first. Talk on the way out if you must." She turned around and motioned for the others to follow her as she began to lead them all back out of the tunnels.

Kefka stumbled back but he appeared relatively unharmed from the trio's attacks. The clown grinned and held up his finger shaking it in front of the keybladers. "Nu-uh-uhhh. You brats have been naughty! And you know what they to do children who have misbehaved?" The clown extended his hand and shot several bursts of fire at the group. "They get burned alive!"

Chrys turned towards the direction of the manner after her companions had said their piece.

"It's as you say..." She voiced her agreement readily, but also quickly voiced the need to continue on. "...Still, we can not dwell on that now; if we have no preparations to make, then we should head for the manor as Master told us. Chrys waited only a moment to see that her companions were following after her before she began walking in the direction of the exam. Now that the heat of battle had passed, her mind couldn't help but return to prior thoughts.

"Let's go." Qamar spoke. She looked over towards Illiana and scoffed to herself. She could have at least been a little nicer. Whatever her problem was, they certainly didn't need to be getting the brunt of it. There was no reason for Illiana's actions, but hopefully she'd grow out of it. After all, being rude was not how you gained friends.

With arms crossed Chrono had braced himself for the fire attack that had struck him. Whatever material this coat was made of was pretty durable as it held up well against the various elemental attacks. Come to think of it their own casual clothing did the same and his certainly wasn't made up of anything special. Either way, now was not the time to thinking about what material his clothes were made from and the young keyblade wielder aimed the end of his keyblade towards the clown. Judgement was cast from his keyblade and the rays of light shot forth and honed in on the singular clown target.

"I'm sorry for your loss, Torrin. It's bad enough that she had to go, even worse that you were the one that had to do it..." Boreas said to his friend. "Thanks, I fought hard to get here." When Torrin asked him who else he had lost since he had been gone Boreas swallowed hard. He knew that at some point he was going to have to tell him. "You saw my rage the other day right? I have already spoken to Master Thallasa about it but the reason I went so off the rails was because I was taking the rage and using it as a weapon... Master Errin taught me that, how to do it. I'm not sure if this was the result he expected but it turned out this way. He taught me that when I had returned home from the field and was told Lysandros had fallen to rebel blades... the loss of my brother... it hurt, it angered me but I hid my anger from my mother, I comforted her the best I could...." Boreas looked to his friend, he was the last one of his line now. "Master Errin saw me vent my anger in training and taught me to utilise it rather than vent it... it's because my brother... Torrin... Lysandros is dead..." Boreas mask cracked and the sadness showed on his face as he scrambled to put it back together, to not break in front of his friend who had had to put someone close to him down with his own hands. Boreas had taken his revenge though, but it felt hollow once he had exacted it.

Tinarah was getting fed up with the magic used against them. She wasn't able to keep up with it and she found herself in pain and stumbling for a bit. There was no more holding off on healing, Take and Chrono were doing alright but they were still a little hurt, they could all use the boost. "Keep going!" She called out as she cast cura on herself and her friends to keep them up and alive. Now that they were refreshed and she was feeling alright. Stepping up she made sure that she was being more than just the healing, she was fighting. Closing the distance between her and the clown, Tinarah took another couple swipes before sweeping down at his legs to try and take him out. From there she was forced to back off a little bit, taking up a defensive position and preparing for another blast.

Take could feel himself running on pretty much empty with magic at this point, and as a result he didn't know how well he'd be able to defend the others. But maybe if he could block a few more hits the rewards would speak for themselves, the boy took a couple more slashes before backing up and walking a bit away from Tinarah and Chrono before yelling towards Kefka to provoke him,"Is that all you've got clown? My grandmother right at this moment could throw spells better than you, and she's dead!"

Torrin stopped walking and stood there, watching Boreas with a look of shock on his face. "No...are you serious!? O-of course you, I'm sorry. I'm so sorry." Though Torrin hadn't grown too close to Boreas's brother he had known him and spoken to him on several occasions. They weren't best friends but Torrin knew he could count on Boreas's brother if he ever needed something. "Dammit. I should have been there." The guilt he felt for not being there for Boreas was just as bad as the sudden sting he felt knowing that someone else he had known was gone. "I didn't know...****..." Torrin took another deep breath and went silent for a minute, trying to process what he had just been told. Feeling guilty was all too familiar to him by now. He didn't know how to make things right but he knew one step he could take to make it better.

Once more he felt the darkness swell. It was coming closer to them. Their presence and their keyblades must have finally caught its attention. It wouldn't be long now until they too were pulled into a fight. "Look I can't change the past." Torrin looked Boreas in the eye. "But I can promise that I won't abandon you again, Boreas." He spoke with conviction.

Kefka growled, his clothes looking to be torn from the cuts that the other's keyblades had left. "You'll pay for that!" The clown shouted in frustration. Before he retaliated he turned towards Takehiko who was calling him out. "OH REALLY!? Well I'll show you, you half-pint midget!" Out from the palm of his hand shot out a shard of ice and just before reaching Takehiko it split apart into three chunks and hit the boy from several directions. "Does it hurt!? DOES IT!?"

Take let out a yell as the shards of ice hit him in the shoulder, in the gut, and then in the head when he failed to duck in time. It hurt like crazy, but the boy was almost a bit excited he was still standing after that. He quickly looked at the clown and placed both hands on his keyblade as it transformed into a great axe. Filled with a burning rage, and really wanting to take it out on this clown, he ran straight at it with blitz+ and got a nice slashing attack straight into his chest. He then flipped and turned around to get him right in the back straight across. He landed on the ground and braced himself as he thought about having to take another hit. His thoughts kind of bringing him back to Mr Incredible and how after a few hits Take had not been doing well. He wanted that kind of strength to take down this clown right now, and decided to activate his dimension link with Team Incredible upon thinking about it as he said, "Don't call me half pint, that implies I'm beneath you. You're not anywhere near my level."

Take's adrenaline rush aside, despite how this whole situation felt there actually were signs of them making progress in this fight. Slow progress, but it was still a lot better than nothing. Chrono had gone in for another attack following behind Take and was quick to put some distance between himself and the clown. Speaking of distance, Chrono had started up the d-link that was forged between himself and Jim and immediately felt lighter on his feet.

Crap, crap crap crap. Take was taking a lot of damage and she wasn't able to keep up. She was doing her best, but her best wasn't even able to keep herself safe. Come on she had to rally more strength, she had to make sure they all made it through this. Maybe she just needed to get a little stronger, or maybe she just needed some help. Tinarah decided to draw strength from those that were around recently, the ones that they referred to as Team Incredible. From there Tinarah then cast cure on all of them to keep everyone going. Taking a scan around, it wasn't perfect, the situation was far from perfect in fact, but she had to at least try and help, at least attack a few times and hope it would get them through this a little better.

Illiana was never going to change, and that was gonna be that. She followed along with Master Thallasa, figuring that the news of Glyde's demise should be saved when they were mostly out of harm's way.

Boreas looked back at his friend with a rather expressionless look on his face and shook his head when Torrin asked him rhethorically if he was serious at all or not. "It's okay... there's no way you could have known, not all the way out here..." Boreas said not having Torrin there on that day was tough, but he had his two lieutenants to confide in and talk to the two of them supported him throughout the time, he couldn't break down when around his mother, stay strong for her but with his soldiers they were there for him just like he was there in return. His mother didn't like that he still went into the field as her only son she had left their family had given more than enough in her eyes, but he had his duty and couldn't go around that. His mother didn't even know he was out here trying to find Torrin, just like he hadn't told her he had avenged Lysandros' death. "The ones responsible are gone though, they paid the price for it..." Boreas said his words ringing hollow in the darkness. "Look, what's done is done, this wasn't your fault, we're at war. People die in wars..." Boreas added and looked away. "Thanks Torrin, I am glad that from here on out I have my friend with me again..." Perhaps now Torrin could at least understand why he wasn't angry with him anymore, between loss and loyalty he was just glad that his oldest friend was still alive, even if he had abandoned him.

"I suppose..." Avra followed after Chrysanthemum and the others as they started walking ahead her mind began to wander. "What happens when we become masters?"

"Curiosity isn't like you, dear girl." Zeno smirked.

"Shut it!"

"I suppose the master will have deemed us worthy to learn techniques that only a master would be ready to utilize." Pagos answered in a monotone.

"Hm...that makes sense. I guess I just expected something...more." Avra shrugged and shook her head. "When my eldest sister became a master she changed. She grew distant. For the longest time I thought it was just part of becoming one. We weren't always the closest beforehand but...ah...never mind. I shouldn't be going down that rabbit hole before the exam."

"Why? You barely ever mention them." Koa slowed his pace to walk beside Avra. "More than one of us here knows how complicated things can be with family. Chrys knows too."

"I'm sure they both still think I'm dead." Avra sighed. "I don't want to have this talk right now. So we won't. Got it?"

"Uh...right...sure whatever you say." Koa spoke lowly as Avra took the lead to walk ahead passing by Chrysanthemum.

Kefka pointed a finger to the sky and grinned, his eyes wild. "Is it warm in here? Or is it just me?" Fire began to rain down, exploding as the magical flames crashed into the ground to scatter the group. "I can keep this up all day! You brats look tired! How about you take a nap!? FOREVER!!!!"

Torrin nodded in understanding. Everything was complicated these days but just having an old friend around renewed his confidence to push onward. "Gone but not forgotten." Torrin repeated. "Once this is over, I'll find a way to put an end to the war. All those deaths will not be in vai–" The darkness around them spiked. Torrin felt a surge of magical energy from behind and rolled to the side just as a dark purple ball of flame sped past him, singing the tail end of his coat.

"Oh! I was so close! Blasting a hole through your chest would've been a sight to see, right?"

Standing before them with his hand still alight with dark flames was a familiar face...albeit sporting a few noticeable differences in appearance.

As the group approached the end of the tunnel she could hear voices outside. Master Thallasa tightened the grip on her keyblade and looked back towards the others following behind her. "Get ready for a fight. Fflam, Eilonwy, Taran, you three need to stay behind us."

"But I can fight!" Taran objected as he held up his new sword which began to glow in response.

"You are not trained. For now, leave the fighting to us." They had already lost one of their number and she intended to lose no one else today. Thankfully, her tone kept Taran from objecting any further and the boy slid unhappily to the back of the group.

As she predicted, the second the group approached the tunnel's end there were already a group of the Horned King's soldiers armed and ready for them, their weapons already drawn. "Out of our way." Thallasa demanded. As one would expect, the Horned King's thugs refused to move and held their ground. The only way through them was to fight. Three of the thugs charged first into the tunnel hoping to overwhelm them in the cramped space.

Qamar expected a fight, so she wasn't surprised the thugs didn't want to move. Her keyblade was still in her hand, so all she had to do was hold it up as she felt a rush of energy overcome her. Her hand ran across her keyblade as use cast Watera, giving herself a larger edge. She rushed forward and laid the thugs out, using a small portion of her energy and reserving the rest for later defending. One thug was the unfortunate receiver of her Blitz+ attack.

After fire literally rained down from the sky, Take tried to look around through the smoke to find Chrono and Tinarah and make sure they were alright. Fortunately for him, they seemed to still be standing and he let out a sigh as he reached towards Tinarah and activated MP gift and then quickly charged forward to try and hit Kefka again, though he was getting a bit nervous at this point about the odds. He didn't care, he had to defeat this thing and if he didn't, at least he didn't go down quietly.

Boreas nodded in agreement as Torrin said gone not forgotten. He was curious how Torrin would resolve the war as both sides had lost many people and there was quite a bit of bad blood there, it wouldn't be easy to do so, especially not while simultaneously making sure the deaths wouldn't be in vain. He wasn't sure a compromise could be made but he trusted Torrin to try everything in his power to find a solution. Their talk was rather rudely disturbed when a dark fireball aimed at Torrin sailed past, Boreas instinctively wheeled around into the direction it had come from. That voice, Boreas anger flared upon seeing who had been the one to launch that fireball. "I guess it's our lucky day Torrin, even if I didn't know Adalric very well, let's avenge him and rid ourselves of this deluded fanatic." Boreas said with a grin on his face and a fire in his eyes before turning his attention to Dentro. "You should not have showed your face here... you will pay for what you did to Adalric." Boreas proclaimed with his glaive-guisarme in a low guard, bladed tip pointing towards Dentro. Without another word Boreas charged, cape fluttering behind him as he did, then thrusting forward and whirling his glaive around above his head into a sideways slash spinning into an overhead slam. His heart started ramping up its beat to the familiar rhythm of fighting for Boreas, they would exact their revenge.

The magic of the clown kept getting more powerful. The fire that erupted from the rain scorched and hurt as Tinarah tried to guard herself. He was right, they would get tired out and he seemed to still be holding on strong. They couldn't give up though, they had to keep going. She wouldn't fail this world, no she couldn't. Her body was tired and sore, her stomach hurt and she could feel that she wasn't going to hold on for long after the fight. She was not in a good shape still, she was still working on getting herself to a healthier condition. For now the adrenaline could carry her, but for how much longer? Could she keep going like this after things calmed down? It was no time to think about it thought, they had to just think about surviving and getting through this fight.

"Come on. Hold on. We can do this." She didn't know if it was for her sake or her friends that she was saying this, but it didn't matter as she cast cure on them all once again, using the MP that Take just gave her. She had to do more however, this was not enough, it wouldn't be enough to just heal, she had to also help fight, even if it was barely. Running in Tinarah tried her best to stay small and dodge the flames as she went towards him trying to at least get a hit or two in before backing up but not hiding behind Take anymore, he didn't seem to be doing well so she didn't want to put him in more danger.
