Despite all odds, Glyde succeeded in scaling his way back down the building with the children and mother in tow; albeit a slow, and somewhat complicated process given the tendencies of his wards to air towards overwhelming fear. With somewhat less of an effort than he had anticipated, he found himself ushering the three at ground level within several minutes of finding them. From what he could tell making the way down from the 9th floor, the fire had remained, in its initial stages, contained within the upper three levels. For so long as it would remain isolated from the lower floors, the task of rescuing those trapped inside wasn't likely to become much more dangerous.

Riddled with the uncertainty of what was compelling him to act, he ran back towards the burning residence, witnessing the fires erupt out from the 5th floor as well. So much for a contained fire. He had reached within feet of the entrance when slowed into a halt; the intensity of the heat was almost abnormal to him. Perhaps it was because his closest interactions with fire had always been through a fireplace, but the draft of heat and flames was proving unbearable, and beyond that, compromising to his own well-being... saving lives wouldn't mean much if he got himself killed out of recklessness in the process.

He had to get back up to get at least a few more people out if he could, although he wasn't sure why. He cast Cure on himself, and proceeded back up, continuing to shield himself under his cloak in spite of how little it was actually worth. He scaled back up, intent upon continuing off where he had left off on the 9th floor. He stopped on the 8th floor, however, upon hearing the hoarse cry for help of someone strained far passed what they could handle. Glyde rushed out from the stairwell, and onto the 8th floor, Towards the end of the hall, he came to a small living space. Near the wall, through the smoke and fire, he clearly made out an older man, old enough to have been someone's grandfather, pinned under a fallen bookcase.

He hurried across the room towards the man. "I'm gonna try to help," he said. "If I get this thing off of you, do you think you get up if I give you a hand?"

The man thought for a second before nodding his head. "Yeah, sonny. I think I've got enough strength to manage that."

With as much strength as he could call upon, Glyde lifted and turned over the bookcase. Now freed, the man used Glyde as a crutch to get on his feet. Continuing to support the man, Glyde made his way back towards ground level.

"Darn decent of all you young'uns to help us all out.

"All in a day's work for us, you could say,"
Glyde responded. The pair came out into the hall. "The eighth floor should be clear!" Glyde called out ahead to anyone that might have been about to come in.

She was relieved to see everyone working together and getting the last few victims out in a timely manner. Aria had taken her scarf back after handing the children off to their parents and the paramedics. It seemed as if Floor 10 and 8 were cleared, and Floor 9 still had some left up there... Or that's what she gathered.

Coughing from inhaling smoke on the last run, Aria summoned her keyblade and cast
Cura on herself before darting back into the flames. She had tied her scarf to back around her mouth and nose, feeling like it helped at least a little bit last time. The heat burned her arms, and she winced as she pushed on. Soon she came to the ninth floor and heard the cries of a couple of older folks. One was holding a small dog or something, she couldn't really see through the smoke. "Follow me!" she called to them after clearing a path. Almost feeling like she was hacking up her lungs, she lead them out to ground level and then took off her scarf, inhaling fresh air deeply and then looked up at the others, giving them a thumbs up.

    Aria ran to Floor 9

Something caught her attention at the corner of her eye, and she looked up to see lights, puff of fire, maybe some ice shards, and tiny explosions being shot up in the sky. Realizing that was where Torrin went, she glanced to the others. "We're almost done here! I'm heading up to help Torrin. Something is going on up there," she said, pointing to the roof where there was activity happening.

Aria then grabbed her bag and bounded off, finding a fire escape on the outside of the building and starting to make her way up. She wished she had those fancy keyblade gliders that Qamar and Torrin had, but she could live with this. She was used to a bunch of physical activity after all.

Once she got to the top, she saw what was happening and watched with wide eyes for a moment. There were three people up against Torrin, all of them in weird looking costumes or just... looking weird in general. She could understand weirdness in the second to last world she was in because... aliens... Nevertheless, she couldn't stare at this freak show for long. She had to help even the odds.

She summoned her keyblade again, staying silent as she aimed her keyblade at the clown-like guy with the weird feathers, or hair (she couldn't tell what it was). One thing she learned from Master Choma was that sometimes it was best to not make one's presence known until you land some kind of hit on enemy. With that in mind, she took a breath and furrowed her brows, knowing that she was about to get herself involved into some serious fighting shortly. "
Thunder," she whispered, sending electric bolts at the clown-guy to get him away from Torrin.

Qamar watched Floor 10 get cleared out and so she went down a floor. Looking around, she found two men clinging to one another in the bathroom. One had a hickie that, upon inspection, looked rather...large. Qamar shrugged and grabbed both men under arms, walking back to a broken window and hopping onto her keyblade glider. She got back to the ground and watched both men run to Master Thallasa, seeing her cure the others. Afterwards, they embraced one another and turned to Qamar. They both said their thinks and walked off, holding hands and looking happier than ever.

A smile stretched across Qamar’s face. She approached Master Thallasa and took advantage off a moment’s rest. She even had time to case Cura on herself, feeling a little better. Though the smoke had gotten to her, she tossed the scarf aside and looked around at her comrades. She took note of who was there and who was still rescuing people. She didn’t see Torrin and Aria, however, so Qamar got a little worried.

Gripping her keyglider, she rode it high up and started to look in the building and around the general city, wondering if maybe he had wandered off someplace. She heard explosions and glanced over to the noise source to see a man with a white face and bombs strapped to his chest. Next, a bouncing clown appeared and she could just tell those two were trouble. Not to mention the third guy who just wore a mask.

Aria seemed to have made her way over and even cast a Thunder spell. Qamar chuckled to herself and decided she’d better get that jerk with the mask herself. The bomb guy would probably be handled in due time, but the mask guy looked way more threatening. Taking her chance, she sped her glider over to the rooftop and jumped off, grabbing her keyblade from the light produced by the glider. She then dove towards the masked man, aiming her keyblade at his stupid mask face.

Saved 2 people from floor 9.
2/10 people left on floor 9.

Dammit how can these guys be so strong? I should be wiping the floor with them, not being on the defensive. Torrin found himself trapped having to knock Bomb Voyage's explosives into the air to keep from causing collateral damage and dodging out of the way of the clown's spells while simultaneously parrying the masked fighter's attacks. Skilled as he was, even he had trouble keeping up on all three fronts and eventually allowed the clown to blindside him. A blast of fire knocked Torrin to the side sending him rolling to the edge of the building where he crashed into the parapet causing him to drop both of his blades. His right sleeve was burnt through leaving his arm singed. His keyblade reappeared in his left hand now in one piece and he used it to force himself back up to his feet before aiming it back at his three opponents. He gritted his teeth and gripped his keyblade with both hands readying to push on.

"No last words? Good! Time to die!" Torrin prepared to take another hit from the clown when Aria's voice chimed in followed by bolts of lightning striking down at the clown that caused him to pause and jump out of the spell's area of effect, sparks arcing on his clothes from having taken a hit. "Oohh! Goody two-shoes! You'll burn for that."

"Aria you don't want to get involved here!" The only thing now running through his mind was that Aria had been reckless by coming to his aid. Before he could further scold or warn her to stay back the sound of a keyblade glider came overhead and with it came Qamar who went in to attack the masked man. The masked man held up a hand and summoned a green barrier that stopped her attack before it could touch him. This appeared to greatly amuse the clown who burst out in a high-pitched laugh.

"Oh you kids are so cute!"

"Evening the numbers will not improve your odds of victory."
The masked man spoke in a monotone.

"Our work here is done and with that we bid you adieu and..." No don't say it. Don't you dare say- "BOMB VOYAGE!" All at once every explosive Bomb Voyage carried was thrown at the trio. Several explosions tore the roof of the building up and lit the sky up with a plume of bright fire. Everything went black.

Qamar, Aria, and Torrin were standing back on the park not far from where they had started. Streams of black smoke faded away from around the three. Torrin eyed the building they were fighting on that had been damaged by the blast but it appeared the explosives were incendiary and didn't have the power to destroy the floor beneath them. He sighed in relief that no one had been hurt and none of them had been roasted alive. Though now the villains had escaped... Torrin looked back at the burning building. It seemed that, in a few moments, the last of the people trapped inside would be saved and that was some good news at least.

Torrin glanced over at Qamar. "Thanks for the assist. But you..." Torrin looked back at Aria and stepped closer to her. "You're a Princess of Heart. You need to stay safe and-" He stopped himself short as he reminded himself of the speeches of responsibility he received all the time came to mind immediately. From what he had seen of Aria he knew she wasn't going to be the type to sit down and listen to rules about staying put in a crisis. He never did. "Just...just be careful okay?" He spoke in a softer tone.

The flames that were consuming the building raged on, but with there still being people trapped inside Chrono dashed back into the building. The smoke had increased in density and he had used his shirt to cover his nose as he searched around the ninth floor for the people who remained. Minutes and a few parts of the building falling later and Chrono had found the last people on the floor. "This way, come on." Motioning them to follow him, the last two civilians soon found themselves escorted out of the burning building. "That covers the ninth floor." Chrono said, coughing a bit.

    Floor 9 Clear

Qamar bounced off the masked man’s green barrier and landed next to Torrin and Aria. She stood ready to continue the fight, but it seemed the clowns were all ready to leave. That one with white paint suddenly threw his bombs at them all at once. Qamar cast a reflect spell to try and shield them as she turned to Aria and grabbed a hold of her, trying to protect her. That was when she felt Torrin grab the two of them and suddenly they were at the park below. Qamar let go of Aria and checked over her. She then checked over herself and sighed. “Well, at least we got out of there….and no problem.” she nodded towards Torrin.

He then went on to chastise the poor girl for helping him out. Luckily, he stopped, but that only caused Qamar to cross her arms. “Torrin, didn’t she just, like, save your asz?” Qamar asked, watching him suddenly change his tone. She shrugged and scratched her head. “He’s kind of right, though...uhhh….” Qamar realized she didn’t exactly introduce herself to Aria. “Forgot to introduce myself. Name’s Qamar. Good job with the Thunder spell. And yeah, be careful, kay?” She smiled before looking at Torrin once more.

“So I wanna make sure of something first. Those guys had a weird feeling being given off. They’re bad guys though, so that’s obvious, but I don’t think my feeling was because they’re bad. Something else is playing here with them and I don’t think I like it. Did you feel anything?” she asked Torrin. “Being who you are, you felt it, right? I’m not so good at feeling that stuff…” It was true. Qamar could tell the darkness in a person IF she was close enough to them, but only like right up close to them and even then she had to be near them long enough to be so sure.

“Do you think that masked guy was a clown too…?” she joked.

Adalric looked around the new world, briefly taking in the sights before a roiling explosion flared to life behind them. Nearly all of the others rushed off to save civilians, with the exception of Torrin and Thallasa. The former went off to chase down the perpetrator, while the master who was leading the mission went to tend to the wounded brought out by the other keyblade wielders.

He was sure that with their numbers, they'd be able to rescue them all in a timely manner, so Adalric rush to Thallasa's side and began receiving the wounded and tending to them both with cura spells and mundane medical practice. While he was hardly an expert in the latter, he had basic enough knowledge to be of assistance. Once it seemed to other wielders were finished clearing out the building, he motioned them over, ready to give similar treatment to any of them who needed it.

It was nice to see that someone else had come to Torrin’s aid. And based on how he was doing before Aria showed up, he really needed it. She barely took Torrin’s scolding to heart as she prepared herself to jump into action, only to be grabbed by Qamar, and then suddenly be teleported away.

She blinked as she was instantly on the ground where she had left the others, and then looked back to where they were. They had escaped, and so did the bad guys. ‘Drat...

Aria was then addressed by Torrin, and how he was starting off made her puff her cheeks out and furrow her brows in contempt. She was about to protest, when he suddenly changed tones and seemed more concerned for her than angry. She sighed out and rubbed the back of her head in frustration and then looked to Qamar. “Aria, nice to meet you too,” she said to the girl. She then turned back to Torrin and sighed out. “Look, I understand that everyone’s concerned about me and all since I am a Princess of Heart... but until I’m locked up in the castle for who knows how long, I’m going to pull my weight in the group.”

She lowered her hand from her neck and nodded to the burning building. “We were almost done wrapping things up here, and you needed help. Nobody else was really available. You weren’t going to be able to last up there alone much longer, Master or not.” Her eyes soften as she looked from Qamar to Torrin and she fiddled with her bun, letting it fall out to its long braid again. “I’ll do my best to be careful, but just because I’m a princess of heart now doesn’t mean I’m going to back down when someone needs help.”

She then fell silent as she listened to Qamar talk to Torrin about something she felt with the bad guys. She knew that it was a risk to take her with the others, but all she wanted to do was help. She was more than capable of that, right?

With considerable effort, Glyde escorted the elderly man to street level. As he had reached the top landing on the 8th floor, he stopped briefly to cast a second Cure, restoring most of the man's strength to move with less assistance. The two of them arrived on the ground as the last people from the 9th Floor made their way down to the first floor. Glyde then left the man to Master Thallasa's care, and stepped aside to assess his own damages.

He was coughing almost as soon as he had emerged outside, traces of ash from the smoke ejecting from his throat. His clothes, still not the cleanest even before going into the fire, were covered in a warm dusting; the leather of his boots was slightly melted; the bottom seam of his cloak had been burnt, black and dark brown marks contrasting against the normally light tan coloring... It was at least half an inch shorter than it had been.

"Never thought I'd see the day I did something that crazy." He glanced around, cocked his head sideways and asked, "wasn't Aria with us?"

((As best as I could tell, Torrin had chased those guys a little ways off from the rest of the group)).

Takehiko removed the cloth from in front of his mouth, breathing in the fresh air as he looked around. He heard Glyde's comment and looked around. As soon as he saw the plume of smoke from the roof of another building, the boy walked over worried and answered,"Yeah, and I think I know which direction she ran."Take kept his hood up and kept his cloth at the ready as he started running in that direction, jumping as carefully as he could from rooftop to rooftop as he scouted the area looking for them. By the time he'd gotten to a roof across the way, the smoke had cleared and... surprisingly there was minimal damage if soot could even count as damage. He looked around a bit worried before his eyes caught Aria, Qamar, and Torrin down below. The boy yelled from the rooftop, "Are you three alright?! We got everyone out! Looks like your chase went about as well as expected whenever we start these kinds of things!"

The boy shifted around on the roof carefully as he gave everything a quick once over to make sure no one was going to jump him when he wasn't paying attention.

Aria heard a voice and glanced up to see... Take?

“Yeah! We’re okay! Torrin’s a little beat up, but nothing too bad. There were three creepy guys, two of them clowns... or something. Third one was wearing a cat mask. How’s everyone?”

She was glad to hear the rest of the people trapped had gotten out, and at least that was a win on their behalf. But with the villains escaping, that just meant bigger trouble later. It left a sour taste in her mouth knowing that, but there wasn’t much to be done on the matter now.

    Age: Seven Years Old

Seven year old Aria woke up with a half-scream, sitting up in bed and kicking in front of her. She cried in fright, not realizing she was awake and held her head with her hands.

Fast moving, soft footsteps were heard coming down the hallway of the farm house, and then the door creaked open. “Aria?” The familiar soft voice of Aunt Anja called for her. The oil lamp in Aunt Anja’s hand dimly lit the room, and little Aria turned turned to it. Anja’s heart nearly broke at the sight; Aria was crying softly, her eyes wide and glassed over from just waking up, and she was shaking badly.

Without fail, Anja came in the room quickly, setting the oil lamp down on a dresser while turning up the flame inside to light up the room more. She moved over to Aria, wrapping a blanket around her shoulders and bringing her close to her.”
There, there,” Aunt Anja soothed while hugging Aria to her and rocking her gently. “It’ll be alright, my love.” The older woman kissed Aria on top of her head, who was sniffling and crying silent tears at this point. Aria hated for others to worry about her so much, but this was welcoming after experiencing something so horrible.

You’re safe here,” Anja assured while stroking Aria’s long hair. It was then she noticed Aria was soaked to the bone, and realized the girl had woken up in cold sweat. Anja sighed out softly and kissed her niece on her head once more.

Heavier footsteps could be heard coming down the hallway, and Lanar poked his head in with his own oil lamp in his hand. He saw the scene before him and his eyes soften. “
The nightmare again?” He asked quietly.

Aunt Anja nodded her head while rocking Aria. “
We need to talk to Gero about it. It’s getting worse.

I know, I know.” Lanar stroked his bearded chin. “Hopefully we can get a hold of him. He’s been busy lately.

Aria sniffed and rubbed her eyes on her sleeve. “
I’m okay,” she whispered, not wanting to worry them anymore. “It was a little bit scarier, but I’ll be okay. Honest.”

Uncle Lanar and Aunt Anja looked at each other, silently communicating to one another. Now wasn’t the time to talk about getting ahold of the wise old master. Uncle Lanar cleared his throat while Aunt Anja ran her fingers through Aria’s bedhair.

    “Hot chocolate?”

    “Hot chocolate.”

Uncle Lanar nodded his head. “Coming right up,” he said with a sleepy smile and then disappeared from the doorframe.

Aunt Anja then turned to Aria, who was still shuddering and recovering from the horrible vision. She offered the little girl a handkerchief, who then took it and wiped her eyes before blowing her nose. “Come on my dear, let’s get you changed.”

Aria looked down at herself, seeing that her whole nightgown was saturated in sweat. No wonder why she felt so cold. She nodded her head silently and slipped out of bed while Aunt Anja dug through the drawers and pulled out a towel and a dry set of fresh clothes. Aria disappeared behind a room divider painted with butterflies, flowers, and the rainbow sunsets of Amerath over a serene latke.

“Can you tell me what happened this time?” Aunt Anja asked softly as she handed the items to behind the room divider to Aria. “Or is it too scary to talk about?”

Aria’s body shook as she changed out of her clothes and grabbed the towel to dry herself off the best she could. “It was scary,” Aria said almost inaudibly.

Aunt Anja frowned and then made herself busy to change her niece’s bedsheets. She honestly had no clue where the nightmares had come from, save that Aria’s peaceful sleeping hadn’t been the same since the snake tried to attack her in the garden. She was assured though Aria would grow out of it, but now she was beginning to doubt it. Perhaps something subconsciously was carried with her from her world that was destroyed by the darkness. “That’s alright dear, you don’t have to talk about it.”

“It was hurting someone,” came a small voice from behind the divider as fabric rustled. “I couldn’t scream or help them. And then when it ate them, it looked to me and grabbed me hard. And then it was going to eat me too.” Aria walked out into view, examining her arms to make sure it was a dream. Her skin was left untouched, which made her sigh in relief. “And then that’s when I woke up. I’m really sorry I woke you up too.”

“There, there,” Aunt Anja assured as she finished putting clean sheets and Aria’s favorite quilt back on her bed before sitting down. She invited Aria to join her, which the little girl did in a heartbeat. Aria was pulled onto Aunt Anja’s lap and then hugged affectionately to her. Anja rocked in place with the small child, giving the little girl a chance to calm down and to warm up. “We love you, Aria. Uncle Lanar and I… we are so lucky to have you here with us. We’d do anything for you. Never feel sorry about that,” Anja said seriously while meeting Aria’s eyes. “You never cause us any trouble. It’s okay if we worry about you sometimes and you worry about us… it’s what people do when they love someone. Never forget that.”

Aria slowly nodded her head, and then wrapped her arms around Anja’s neck. The older woman kissed her on the cheek and hugged her close as they sat on the bed for a moment. It was then that Anja looked to Aria’s nightstand, seeing her niece’s own oil lamp sitting there. It was supposed to be always lit since Aria was not a fan of the dark, but the fire had went out. Anja raised an eyebrow and gently set Aria by her as she picked up the small oil lamp carefully. There was plenty of fire fluid inside, and the wick was in great condition, but it felt cold to the touch as if it had been out for hours. “Strange,” Anja muttered as she examined it further. “I knew I lit this before we tucked you into bed.”

A deep, threatening howl sounded off outside of Aria’s bedroom window.

Aria instinctively clung onto Anja’s nightgown as her eyes widened in fear. “Aunt Anja…”

“It’s alright,” Anja assured, though she too sat rigid on Aria’s bed. There had been talk lately that packs of wrenfel wolves had been spotted on the edge of farms lately. The wrenfel usually stayed in the mountains, but for some reason they had migrated down and began to appear in populated areas. It was concerning, due to the fact of their large sizes and their nature to hunt and kill their prey. Some farmers had experienced some of their stock being killed by the wrenfel, and it seemed they were becoming more bold and aggressive over the last several weeks.

“Stay here,” Anja told Aria while patting her on the head. “I’m going to talk to your Uncle.” She gave the little girl a small smile in an attempt to reassure her and then ruffled her hair before getting up and quickly making her way out of the room.

Aria sat there for a moment alone in her room. She could feel the apprehension in the air. She only knew a bit of what was going on lately due to the fact her surrogate parents didn’t want her to worry so much. However, she knew when there was howling near their farm, there was something bad around.

As if on cue, the howling broke out again, except this time with growling and barking. She could hear the chocobos becoming restless in the stables and suddenly felt scared.

Aria grabbed her shawl from a rocking chair in the corner of her room, and rushed out. Her little feet ran through the darkened halls, and her eyes caught a small light from downstairs. She was was halfway down the steps when she spotted her uncle dressed in his brown coat, boots, and equipped with a rifle and a flare gun. He was about to head out the door, which made little Aria even more afraid. “Uncle Lanar!” She called out to her guardian.

The burly man turned to see his niece wide awake and scared. He gave her a small smile as he picked up a lantern and turned it on. “I’ll be back, little one. I have to go check on the Chocobos. Hot chocolate is ready, I love you.” He blew Aria a kiss before slipping out the door without another word.

Aria gripped the railing of the steps as she held the shawl tightly in a ball with the other hand. She made it down the steps and ran to the front window, just in time to see the lantern moving swiftly through the darkness.

Anja approached Aria from the kitchen and carefully laid a hand on her shoulder. “Come over here,” she coaxed, moving her away from the window.

There was a sudden sound of yelling, and then explosions that Aria didn’t recognize but Anja did. The rifle had went off.

Aria broke away from Anja’s grasp and ran to the back window to where the Chocobo stables were visible. Her hands were pressed against the cool glass and her turquoise eyes peered out into the night. Sounds of whimpering and whining were heard, and then Aria saw movements within the shadows. She sucked in a breath of air and held it as she realized the shadows looked almost like dogs, but much larger. One looked towards the window, its eyes glinting a yellow glow towards the girl before bounding off. For some reason, Aria felt panic swell inside of her for that brief moment when she saw the eyes, but she couldn’t figure out why. Maybe it was because the danger that was often talked about was so close to home…

A golden flare was suddenly shot to the sky, illuminating the whole farm for that moment. She could see her uncle standing there under the flare, panting and holding the flare gun up high for that moment. “Uncle Lanar!”

“He’s okay,” Aunt Anja assured while standing at the window just behind Aria. As soon as the wrenfel began to make their appearance, the eight farms surrounding theirs made a decision to communicate with flares since they were far apart.

Soon other flares were appearing in the skies far away, and Anja looked on and counted to herself; there were five green ones one yellow… and two red ones. It was the first time any red ones were seen since this system was established just two weeks ago.

Anja covered her mouth, and then looked to Lanar under the fading flare light. He looked conflicted as he spotted the red flares and rubbed his neck in frustration. He looked over to the farmhouse, and met Anja’s gaze. They stared at each other for a moment before Lanar nodded his head and ran off to the stable to grab his mount.

“Where is Uncle Lanar going?”Aria’s voice broke the silence and Anja glanced down at her.

Eyes softening, Aria’s aunt knelt down to her height and pointed outside the window. “Do you see those lights in the sky? Green means everyone is safe, yellow means the wrenfel were spotted but everyone is fine, and red means there’s trouble and they need help.”

Aria’s eyebrows furrowed as her lips turned downward. “There’s two red lights…”

Aunt Anja gravely sighed out and nodded her head. “You’re right…”

The pair stood in the kitchen longer to see Uncle Lanar take off as fast as he could on his Chocobo. Life on Amerath was changing, and Aria was very much aware of it. It would not be calm and peaceful as it once was, and those innocent, carefree days would soon be lost.

Torrin sighed. He couldn't help but feel a little frustrated knowing that Aria was going to keep putting herself in harm's way. He just had to keep a closer eye on her. He had seen enough people die senseless deaths. He folded his arms, wincing when he brushed up against his burnt arm but kept them folded regardless. He realized Aria hadn't asked to be placed under that kind of responsibility but it was what she was born into and that's just how things were. The responsibility of what she was just could not be shrugged off. He frowned, not sure why exactly it bothered him so much.

Qamar asked if he had sensed anything and he nodded. "I've got a better nose than most when it comes to these kinds of things." He admitted. "There's darkness on them but that's not what concerns me. There's something else. It's different than what I'm used to. Artificial." He lowered his head and closed his eyes to think over it, only looking back up to give a thumbs up to Take when the boy called at them from the rooftop after having followed them and missed them.

"This is bad..." He muttered under his breath, coming to the realization of what he had felt coming. "Heartless!"

Some appeared by popping in out of thin air and others crawled their way out of nearby manholes. The civilians they had just saved were now on the run as Heartless began to fill the area by the dozens, focusing their attention on the very thing they hated most. Keyblade Wielders.

"I'll get the civilians to safety! Everyone else focus on the Heartless!" Thallasa shouted at the group.

When the heartless began popping up, Take made a run for it towards a couple of defenders. He ran down some escape stairs and jumped on back to ground level before running up towards the defenders. The boy held his hand out to summon his keyblade proper and felt almost a floaty feeling in his chest, like he was ready to activate his form Gero had just taught them to use. With a surge, he let it happen. Feeling his body sort of float a moment before a glowing shield formed in his hand and a glowing white aura appeared around him. He bashed the shield a bit to get the defenders attention as he yelled,"Hey, shield-headed freakshows! Come at me!"

Take didn't have to wait long for them to steer their attention towards them and the boy used blitz on one before turning his attention towards the other one and stabbing at it to break it as well. Two Icy Cubes decided to make their way towards Take after that and he slashed at the two, taking a deep breath to keep himself from getting "too intense" while there was a crowd around.

    Take defeated 2 defenders
    Take defeated 2 icy cubes
(blitz was used and he only need 14 ap to destroy defenders cause of paladin)

From this distance Tinarah couldn't focus on anything else that was going on. She regestered that a few others ran off to help Torrin, but until Master Thallasa told them to move on, Tinarah wasn't going to chase after them. She was still trying to cough the smoke from her lunges instead, as she continued to kneel down near her latest rescues. She was more than happy that she had used the spell on herself before she had gone into the building, how it felt now, Tinarah wondered how she would have faired if she hadn't healed herself.

The time to relax was short as heartless didn't take their time jumping on the opening to attack. Thallasa promised to get the people out, meaning they would have to defend the way. Getting to her feet, Tinarah tried to push off the feeling that she was still choking as she readied her keyblade. It crossed her mind, that maybe she wasn't ready to be out in the field again yet, but she had to at least try. The heartless were already swarming and there was so many of them. A touch of her charm for good luck and Tinarah stepped forward into battle.

At this point she wasn't used to having to fight with people, so communication was not what she was best at. That being said she did her best not to get in anyone else's way as she moved into battle. Eyeing a small cluster of bomb shaped heartless, Tinarah didn't rust the look of them and decided it best to deal with them first. Running in she spun her keyblade slashing at them taking one out after the other in easy quick swings. She might have been tired and panting going into this, but she had learned not to lay down and die. She had to at least try and do what she could, and right now that was to fight a mass horde of heartless, bringing down their numbers as quickly as possible. As she fought however a heartless thought it could get the jump on her. While Tinarah managed to deal with it in time, it slowed her movement down and she could feel as the exhaustion started to weigh down on her once again, causing her to step back once more.

Chrono was enjoying the fresh air that was getting to his lungs now that he was out of the burning building and had no reason to re enter it. He had taken to a crouched position as his coughing died down. Upon feeling better, he found that they were greeted by a massive swarm of heartless. Of all times that they could've shown up, they chose now. Chrono rose to his feet as a group of smaller heartless ran towards him. "Thundara!" Not missing a beat, his keyblade was called to his sided, aimed directly at them as the stream of lightning wiped them all out.

In his current state he wouldn't be able to take that many hits from the heartless which lead to him casting cure on himself and attacking the last two minutes bombs that had gone to attack him. The small cubes were next on his attack list as he preemptively attack them with blitz. That thine the heard of heartless that happened to be immediately around him and scanning the area, Chrono found a small group of four of yellow floating heartless that he could deal with. He felt comfortable running into that group given that their numbers were already small. All it took was a couple of keyblade strikes and he was able to be rid of them all.

    (Blitz was infact used)

Illiana looked through each floor and made sure everyone had been taken to safety. Running back to the stairs, she avoided incoming debris that was heading her way. Making her way out of the building, Illiana looked over at the manholes near the group as Heartless sprung up from the holes. "Oh you have GOT to be kidding me!" The group launched into battle against the heartless that had just appeared. She looked around her surroundings and saw a heartless come up behind her. "A shadow? Wait...no.. that's not it...Oh well, same fate!" Illiana summoned her keyblade and cut through the Neoshadow. She saw three Blue Rhapsodies coming at her. Illiana ran toward them, keyblade in hand. "Maybe you guys could cool me off!" She sliced through each of the Blue Rhapsodies around her and had seen that there had been another one hiding behind her. She stood up and spoke. "Well that wasn't much fun. I was hoping they would've at least put up a fight." Illiana shrugged her shoulders and ran toward her next battle.

They just couldn't catch a break, could they?

Aria loosely blew a raspberry between her lips, making her bangs dance on the light wind before summoning her keyblade once more and dropped into a defense position. She felt as if she was all out of magic at this point, but she still had some spunk left to maybe beat some heartless over the head.

She eyed the larger ones and headed over in that direction, raising her keyblade and letting out a battle cry to get her spirits and energy back up. She landed a hard
Blitz + on one Defender, and hacked and sliced at another big guy until that one went down with more difficulty than the first. She then realized how annoying the little guys were and started to beat up the ice cube thingies, finding it just a tad refreshing when they would explode into ice shards pretty much and sprinkled on her as she fought.

He was still coughing up a lung when they came. Still shaking off the dusting of soot and ash from the fire. He was even still lamenting the damage done unto his trusted cloak, which was beginning to accrue wear and tear that never would have befallen it if he had still been back home.

When the Heartless emerged onto the city streets, Glyde was a far cry from prepared to battle. While he lacked the skill to completely measure where he stood, he knew he felt too weak to engage in a battle; it was too soon after an even greater ordeal. The best he could hope for was that he could keep a distance somehow.
If I had more in me, I could just shoot them off, he though. Yeah. Only if. Depleted and sore from the rescue, he determined himself to simply hold out the battle and attempt to defend from and evade the Heartless as they came; if he could take out a few here and there, he would.

He looked over the ensuing battle picking out a proper target. The larger Heartless seemed too strong to defeat with one shot; the smaller ones almost seemed to be a waste of an otherwise useful technique... He sighed, resigned to what he had to do. His Keyblade came to him. He lined up a Shot, aimed at a Yellow Opera, and fired.

Torrin appeared to vanish and reappear on the other side of the battlefield. In a single cut from Shin-Zantetsuken several Icy Cubes, Blue Rhapsodies, and Yellow Operas popped out of existence upon their destruction. "Keep it coming! They're falling like flies." He cast several Cure spells to the party upon noticing that they were weaker after having been rushing into burning buildings earlier. He first cast a spell on Aria, then on Glyde, then Illiana, then Tinarah, and finally on Qamar. Torrin took in a deep breath, having exhausted his magical reserves already just making sure the other members of the team would stay up fighting. Perhaps he could have just spent it on obliterating the Heartless but he had already made his choice. Torrin jumped over towards the Bolt Towers and cut most of them down in a succession of fluid strikes before rushing over and cutting through another two Heartless, Neoshadows, before they had the chance to strike.
