She could only shake off the pain for so long, but Tinarah kept pushing forward despite it. She might as well go down with a fight, even if there was no real point in going either way with it at this point in time. Tinarah had wished that she could have done more, wished that she could have won this battle, but while the demon tower was significantly smaller than when she had started the battle, the hits she was taking from it, out did the damage she managed to do to it. She hadn't thought that she could win this when she went in, but as the battle went forward, she had let her hopes get high, only for her defeat to be more crushing. In a small twisted way, Tinarah hoped that she wasn't the only one who failed, if she was, then maybe she didn't belong here at all. Even with her health and trying to get back into shape, Tinarah believed she should be better than she was. Perhaps that was just wishful thinking. She hadn't even been able to force herself to eat a full breakfast that morning, she was struggling in more ways than one, yet she thought she could do this on her own. Putting a hand to her stomach, feeling the bones in her ribs, she let it sink in how unfit she still was, and how despite that she beat one of the challenges and nearly finished the other. Then in one last ditch effort to not go down without a fight, Tinarah ran forward, meeting the heartless with her blade. She fought back against them, standing her ground, but ultimately they overwhelmed her, leaving her on her back, barely able to move, as the illusion of Eventide faded and a warm healing light surrounded her, just before she could lose consciousness completely. Tinarah picked herself off the ground and dismissed her keyblade, as she exited the room, upset with herself, but not crying over it. Mostly she was just dreading what the Masters had to say about her performance.

Boreas had given it's all but it didn't matter, a wave of darkness washed over him and he collapsed to the floor, there was only blackness for Boreas, he never saw how Torrin and Illiana ended the fight. When Torrin spoke to him to wake up he realized something important, it hadn't been real at all. Boreas opened his eyes and scrambled up from the floor, they were in a white room. "So we did it then?" Boreas asked Torrin between ragged breaths, he had fallen before the end, it didn't matter too much as it was a training and Boreas had tasted defeat before but never this. He felt drained and still a bit sore after that training session, but he'd live, he was beaten but not broken. Torrin seemed to be quite tired himself as well, he wasn't sure what they did to finish the fight but at least they got completed it. Boreas headed for the door and walked back into the main basement, he had talked with Torrin about going their seperate ways in training but after how much they had done right now he wasn't too sure about having another go, sure inthe field he might not have the luxury of rest but there were other ways he could keep training. His opinion about the machine hadn't changed it was a good way to train everyone without the risk of getting overwhelmed and losing people to too brutal a training regime. Maybe later he would see if he could get another group together to make another attempt, but first he'd grab a little bit of rest.

Qamar was correct in her thinking. She gave Aster a bow as she shut her door. Qamar clenched her fist and followed behind Lumen a little slowly. Why did she even suggest they do this? It was a bad idea from the get go. It sucked that she didn't realize until basically when they got there. Once down the steps, Qamar stood there staring at the ground. Her eyes looked towards Lumen when he spoke, but she didn't reply to him.

They needed to go back downstairs. Raising her head and looking at the windows high above them, she caught a glance of the dragon that had saved them. "Will Kosmo ever grow that big and strong? She's so young and tiny, I'd be surprised if she did." She gave a lighthearted chuckle.

A deep sigh erupted from her after awhile. "We must head back down. If we don't, we'd be very disrespectful towards the masters." Qamar reached and took Lumen by the wrist, heading for the basement whether he agreed or not. She had a serious face right now, knowing they couldn't just walk away and not return to training.

As he played his lute a bit, the boy closed his eyes and just listened to the wind, the strings and everything around him. He smiled to himself until bringing his attention to Qamar. “Well... Kosmo is a Seasonall. They’re four pigmy species of dragons that resemble each season. Kosmo is a Fall Seasonall, and shes twenty two in dragon years so she won’t really grow much bigger. However, rare Seasonall’s can grow up to the size of say... a full grown dog. Nothing too big but nothing too small.” Lumen spoke on giving a little definition about his little companion.

However the boy gave a little sigh himself when he was given the answer to his question; Qamar was right, it would be rude of them to disrespect the masters. Lumen smiled and spoke,
“Your right, I suppose we should-!” But before he could finish those words the girl grabbed him by the wrist and took him to the basement. He had chills on his spine when he saw the Mirage Arena once again, but was surprised by how Qamar switched so seriously in a manner of seconds. Kosmo followed quickly behind after she fell off of the boys head, gliding down with them.

Chrys was a little unsure of how exactly to respond to the harsh words of the master that had approached her. She mostly just raised her eyebow at the woman. What the heck was wrong with training solo? As had been so graciously pointed out, she had hardly been the only person to do it. Unlike the blunt words of the master Kiao, this woman just seemed more interested in putting her down, and seemed to have done no real analysis of her behavior. Her criticism was based solely on being hurtful and was not constructive in the least. She could only look up in puzzlement at how this could possibly be a constructive teaching method.

She also wondered how much leeway she had in this situation. She had no intention of actively provoking the masters, but could she even explain her own methods without it coming off as disrespectful? She was on pretty thin ice with the entirety of the castle... perhaps Thyella was just making assumptions based on her history. Chrys decided to try and say... something.

"You're right. Teamwork is an inevitable necessity. I've done it before, and I've accepted I'll have to do it again. Still, I can't help any team if I'm too caught up in my head to make use of my own strength... and... other people aren't always around. I challenged myself, to see what I could accomplish on my own... and now I know what I can do better. There's nothing wrong with that, I can always train with someone else in my next session. I can't speak for the others though." She turned and walked out into the room, noticing some of the others that had finished their training simulations.

Illiana's form burned to ashes and from those ashes her previous outfit re-emerged. As soon as the letters emerged in front of them, a big sigh of relief left Illiana's mouth. As curious as she was about Torrin's sudden change in eye color, she decided it wasn't worth asking. Her head was pounding and she felt a bit hot. Torrin had then gave his thanks as she nodded. "Next time you wanna pull that damn stunt, let us know ahead of time will ya? There's only so much I can do with my limitations. I-" The room immediately started to spin around her making head dizzy. She immediately placed her hand on her forehead to steady herself. She shook her head as if nothing happened. "Just let us know next time. End of discussion." She kept her hand on her head before turning her head a bit. "But for what it's worth.....Good job....Both of you. Sorry I couldn't be much help." With that Illiana walked out of the arena and outside where the breeze had it immediately hit with a nice cold air. She kept walking until she found a spot where it was void of anyone. She collapsed onto her knees as she started breathing heavily. She summoned her blade and immediately turned it into her umbrella. She quickly reached inside and pulled out a thermometer. Illiana took her temperature and immediately sighed in irritation. "103.7....Could be worse. I'm sure it'll pass in a couple hours...." Illiana stood up slowly and tried to walk to the lake nearby but felt herself staggering a bit. She put a hand to her head to steady herself as she tried to walk, hoping nobody could see her.

Take preemptively cringed when he heard the what was becoming a familiar voice of Enzo. He didn't know where this conversation was going but he was almost certain it was going to end painfully. But as he listened, he realized that the content of this conversation was.... normal. Maybe with a little bit of unnecessary attempts at complimenting. He raised an eyebrow and asked, "Um, are you sure? I'm not... learning just how to read better. I'm learning how to read at all? It might be boring..." he figured he'd warn since it seemed like it'd be annoying to anyone who already knew how to read. He continued heading more in the direction of the kitchen cause at some point someone told him that Selene was there totally.

When Tinarah came out of her room, having been defeated in battle, the man smirked. "Not so tough when your magic is all out, are you?" Kaio brushed his hair back lazily with his hand. "Credit where credit is due, though, you have tenacity. But that can only take you so far. Whatever you think you have to prove to yourself, put it behind you. It is not important. Hm...I suppose your efforts were not completely terrible." The man's eyes followed after Illiana, the girl leaving the area before he could even say anything to her. After her came the other two and they lingered long enough for Kaio to get a few choice words in.

Torrin pushed himself off the ground and gave a nod towards Illiana who was clearly annoyed from the explosion of power he released that quickly ended their last fight. "You're right. Sorry about that. I'll give a heads up next time." Torrin waved at Illiana but she was gone before she could see it. Torrin shrugged and winced upon making the motion. He rubbed his shoulder and gave a short nod towards Boreas. "Yeah. We did it. Wasn't exactly a painless win though. My everything is sore. It's been too long since I've trained like this." Torrin chuckled as they walked out of the training room.

"Don't think that because you won your battle that you kids did a job worth praising. That fight was completely devoid of teamwork." Kaio spoke towards the two when they exited. "Boreas, you did very little to support your team. Judging by your skill set, that's what you should have spent more time doing. Perhaps then you would not have spent so much time at the end face down on the ground. Not only that, you seemed to be fighting as if the fate of your realm depended on it. That may be the case out there but getting reckless and foolishly believing a simulation is real is foolishness."

"Foolish foolishness. Did you already run out of insults?" Torrin mocked with a slight smirk.

"Don't get cocky with me, boy. You weren't any better. You can't be there to carry your team in every battle. If all they learn is how to depend on you then they're as good as dead."

    "You're right." Torrin stated simply.

"Don't argue with me you...wait what?"

"I already know you're right. But either way, I'm here and I'm not going to sit a fight out to prove a point. Anyway, I need a break." Torrin glanced over at Boreas. "I'll see you later Boreas. Take a breather. You deserve it." Without another word Torrin gave a slight wave at an aggravated Kaio and left the basement to head up and out of the castle.

As he left the castle and took in a breath of fresh air a large four-winged creature passed through the clouds overhead. A smile formed on Torrin's face as he continued to walk forward, moving towards Flammie's general direction in an attempt to get a better look at it. He was tempted to use his glider but the last thing he wanted to do was to spook the creature while she was enjoying herself in Illusia's skies. Then, suddenly, Flammie dived down as if spotting prey or something of interest. Torrin took a few running steps forward to get a better view of what it was that caught Flammie's attention. In the distance he could just make out a head of pinkish-purple hair. Blades of grass were blasted off the ground as the white dragon made its sudden landing in front of the girl and...other than the fact that she had not been squished, Torrin could not make out what was going on from the distance he was at. Torrin kept his distance for the moment, knowing that there was no danger, curious to see what would happen.

"Hm." Thyella folded her arms and took a moment to contemplate a response after Chrys had finished speaking. "Not a bad reply. I suppose I can see why the Light Chaser gave you your Mark. Still, you're very clearly green. You would have done better in that simulation if you had thought a little more during your fight. You still need to find the balance between fighting conservative and going all out. Once you do, things will get a lot easier from here."

"Now where is that chocolate...don't tell me we're out already! Darn...ugh...judging by these paw prints I'll bet it was that dumb furry thing that came along with that new princess. Why couldn't Varos have dropped it off before leaving on his dumb mission?" Selene sighed and opened the fridge. "Munchings and crunchings...gr...well I want munchings too!" She grumbled as she stuck her head into the fridge as she continued her search for snacks. "Gross. Nothing here but Stamatis's veggies. Why couldn't he have a sweet tooth like a normal person? Maybe I just need to look harder..." As she muttered to herself the girl's small frame practically disappeared behind the fridge door as she leaned further into the fridge, obliviously unaware that Take and Enzo had just entered the kitchen.

"They're up in the higher cabinets. I just saw them this morning. Unless they went out of their way to eat them all..." Take replied attempting to assist with her chocolate dilemma. He opened the last cabinet he had seen them in and did a quick jump and reached in and just barely grabbed a chocolate bar. It was smaller and looked like someone took a piece of it but it was still chocolate and he held it out towards Selene, "See? Here ya go."

The only response that Chrono could muster was an annoyed 'tch' as Master Kaios went off to lecture the other groups. Even if he did have a point, the man sure knew how to get under his skin with the way he talked. Even if he had a point, it was by no means presented in a way that was bearable to hear. Still, Kaios did still have a point and it was one he wouldn't ignore. According to Thalassa using my drive more will help me get used to it, but what else can I do? That had been the root of his frustrations right now.

Originally he had been poised to leave the room and find someplace else to be for the moment, either going to the library or just getting some fresh air outside, but as he was doing so Tinarah had finished up with hers. Despite not actually seeing how well she had done, he could infer that she had at least lasted a while considering that she was one of the last ones who finished. He would've assumed she won, but Kaios word had implied otherwise. Before actually leaving, he decided that he should at least try to say something to her.
"If its any consolation, you lasted in there longer than most of the others."

The lake air was a bit chilly, yet refreshing. Birds were chirping happily and the water lapped on the shoulder, creating a peaceful ambiance and a place to think. Aria had calmed down significantly and was now just staring out over the water which rippled in the light breeze. She felt somewhere between numb and sad; numb because of the bombardment of emotions all at once that suddenly bubbled over and sad because she was missing her simple life back on Amerath. If she could, she would go for a ride on her chocobo to clear her head some more.

It was then there was a woosh of air, and Aria blinked as her gaze was averted above her.
"Ah!" Her mind barely comprehended it was flammie and she scrambled to her feet, nearly falling over as she moved back. When the large beast landed on all fours, Aria's heart was racing in her chest. "H-hi there..." The creature looked over Aria, padding over to the girl as she sniffed the air cautiously. The princess of heart instinctively held out her hand, and to her astonishment, the dragon nuzzled into it. "Heh... You really are sweet." Aria brushed the soft like fur of the dragon, smiling as she stepped even closer to the dragon. "Do you sense pain...?" Aria asked in a half whisper, fingers running over the fur as she touched her forehead on the nose very respectfully and gently.

"Funny," Tinarah started rather flatly. "that is what happens when one nearly starved to death and is just getting their strength back. But not to worry, I didn't go in expecting to win. I had gone in thinking I needed to prove myself to Un- To Fost that I wasn't about to go and get people killed, I wasn't that worthless. Show him I was strong enough to stand on my own two feet, and not give anyone an excuse to say I was hiding behind someone else. But that isn't what I got out of this. Turns out it was just a reminder of how awful it is to be alone. I thought I would be used to it by now, but I found myself wishing for help, not just cursing myself for being weak. I think this was what I needed to get over this morning and just get on with it. So thank you for not yelling at me, but I assure you, I do know my shortcomings." Tinarah bowed slightly to him, before thinking for a minute and admitting. "I had, at one point, thought that I could win, and I am sure this simulations were meant to be winnable. I have to say I am disappointed in myself, but at least I fought to the end." She didn't know if any of that is what Kaio wanted to hear, but she figured saying it out loud now, would be better than wondering if what she thought she learned was actually worth it. It was strange having to speak to him though. She felt like she was close to so many Masters compared to most due to her time in the other realm, but here she was with two strangers training her.

Tinarah turned when she heard Chrono approach.
"It's okay Chrono, you don't need to comfort me, I am fine." She was actually feeling better than she had in days, despite her loss. "I think next time I just need some back up. Perhaps you and Take would want to tag along." She added. She had done her one solo match, and she didn't plan to go back to it any time soon. Perhaps later in her training she would do it again as a bench marker for how she was doing, but for the time being, Tinarah was happy with only suffering through that once. Sure she was glad to work through some of her problems and sort them out, but it was emotionally draining and it was not something she wanted to experience again any time soon.

Boreas spotted Chrys but didn't pay her heed. He caught Illiana's rather irritated remark towards Torrin and he definitely understood especially since he had been the one to fall, Illiana apologised for not doing as much, which was fine. Kaio had just finished talking to Tinarah and set his sights on them, Torrin mentioned how it wasn't a painless win and Boreas could second that given the fact he had been the one to go down, he remained quiet though as Kaio gave his assesment. Boreas took the criticism, it was a direct way of delivering it and one Boreas was thoroughly familiar with. Some points were exagerrations but they were made with the purpose of pointing them out and he was right Boreas could have supported the team more than he had. Torrin drew the attention of kaio to him, but Boreas contemplated what the master had said. Torrin took his leave after telling him to get a rest, he didn't need to be told that again but first he would speak with Master Kaio. "
You are right, I should have supported the team more, my magical healing capabilities however are severely limited, but there are other ways I can support them, what would you have me do?" Boreas asked, he bit down a retort to the remark of having fallen, he had given it his all, expended his magical power and fallen, it wasn't like he had gone down easy even if it were thanks to his team mates. "I take combat seriously, whether it is a training maneuver or not. You are right in saying believing the simulations to be real is indeed foolishness, I get focussed in combat, focussing more on the battle at hand rather than whether it is real or not, I got carried away with besting the foe and getting through the fight." Boreas explained, he felt a little ashamed of getting carried away like that, but he didn't show it. His rousing speeches definitely had an effect even if it was merely a training.

Tinarah's response amused him. "Hm." Kaio scratched his cheek. "I suppose that's as good as a response as I could expect. Your misfortunes in another realm, however, do not act as excuses for failure. The Heartless do not care how tragic your story is, merely how easy you are to defeat."

With Torrin and Illiana gone and only Boreas left to take a verbal beating, Kaio returned his attention to the young knight only to become disheartened by the fact that Boreas too realized his own shortcomings. The man sighed in annoyance shook his head. "What would I have you do? First off, learn some techniques that would benefit your team. I see you already know a few but with that sturdy hide of yours you should stick to what you can do best and protect your allies. Someone soft like that prince or the arrogant mage can only take so many hits before they go down. And where would you be if the strongest hitters go down? You might be able to take a beating but that's hardly of use if you cannot finish the enemy off yourself. Strong throwing arm or not, shielding your party would be of great benefit to them. ...And keep what you said in mind about your own focus. If your focus becomes too narrow it becomes easy to be blindsided by surprises."

"H-huh?" Selene's head peeked out from behind the fridge as the snow-haired young woman smiled at the chocolate Take held out towards her. "Oh great!" She exclaimed as she took the chocolate bar from the boy and proceeded to chomp down on it with no mercy. In moments the bar was gone and nothing but the wrapper remained leaving Selene licking bits of chocolate off her index finger and thumb. "Mmm...that hits the spot...Thanks...uh...Take was it? And..." She turned her head and pointed at Enzo. "Enzer? Did I get that name right? Anyway. What's up? Did you want chocolate too because I just ate the last bar...maybe. I think Skia keeps some in her room but the last time I tried taking one from her she got real mad."

Torrin began to move closer as Flammie seemingly began sniffing Aria and as he got closer he saw the dragon suddenly nudge the girl over onto her back while the dragon began to sniff her relentlessly. Regardless of how hard Aria might have tried to stop it the dragon would have just kept its nose pressed down on her, tickling the girl with each quick puff of air that came from her nose. "I can just imagine Take screaming internally right about now." Torrin muttered to himself with a small smile as he watched the dragon pester the poor girl.

Knowing that he couldn't in good conscious let Aria get tickled to death by the nose of a dragon. Torrin cupped his hands over his mouth to call out to the princess. "Hey Aria!" Torrin called out once he was in earshot. "I think she wants something from you! You might be carrying something she wants!"

Sighing and shaking her head slightly Tinarah didn't know what to do with this master. He seemed to just need something to say in order to get under peoples skin it seemed. "And that is why we are here isn't it? So I can get stronger and heal before going out against the real threats. I am no fool, I know if this was real life I would never make it. I have had enough close calls to prove it." Without thinking Tinarah covered her still scarred wrist. "And that is why I am going to keep training and fighting and learning. It is all I can do at this point. And without Stamatis or Choma here, and Fost not wanting to get his poor heart hurt again, I am stuck with you, and you with me, so make it easier on the both of us and stop trying to find ways to break me. My emotions are worn through for the day, and I just want to train and forget about the morning." She admitted.

While it wasn't entirely his intentions to comfort her, he was glad to hear that she was fine. It didn't look like she was just saying that for his sake either as compared to how she seemed to be before they had gone through these simulations she was looking better. "That's good to hear." He said, followed by nodding to her offer. "Sure, I can always lend a hand if you need one." His own battle had gone well, but what was intended for four people ended up being a three-man battle and even then most of the fighting seemed to be spilt between himself and Aria. Then Kaio gave his response to Tinarah and so did she to him and Chrono, Chrono just stood there unsure of what to say and MoK didn't know what to have him say either so...

"Yes." Chrys stated simply. There was no reason to argue with Thyella, since Chrys herself had come to that same revelation. Though she might argue whether or not being able to say some flowery speech made her master material. After all, the man who had given her the exam had no issues with tossing her out like garbage the next day and was quite beyond reason. Regardless, her first attempt at an aggressive approach in some time had failed spectacularly, and there was no denying that she was a pathetic excuse for a master.

"I still have a lot to learn." She couldn't help but be disappointed in herself, but there was no time to wallow. "I'll... try and see if anyone will be my partner and get back to training." With that, Chrys made to go and look for someone who didn't think they were too good to be her training partner.

Qamar continued holding tightly to Lumen's wrist until they were at the door. She stopped and stared at the door, tightening her grip on Lumen. She turned back towards him and took a deep sigh. "I...I'm sorry for being so sudden...I...I think we need to train more. Master Kaio is right, I'm too squishy. I need to get better and stronger so my teammates won't have to worry about me so much." she said, letting go of his wrist. "We just barely defeated that first heartless. I don't want to lose anyone else because of my shortcomings. So we need to get stronger....together." she said, nodding at him. "Maybe at the same time, I can learn to better take care of my own darkness and not let it govern me." She turned back around and opened the door.

She stepped inside first and headed towards Kaio, giving him a bow. "Sorry for running away, I was able to retrieve my partner. And you're right about being...unreliable and squishy. I want to get better and bolster my defenses. Please continue to teach me. Or should I be saying this to Master Kidemonas?" she gave a light chuckle, glancing over to the man in question if he was even in there. "I'll start with....Lumen again and....Chrys." she looked over at the girl. She approached her and stood there for a moment. Qamar then stretched her hand out. "I hope we can train together, at least somewhat." regardless if she took her hand or not, Qamar gave her a smile. "You made bad decisions, but I won't hold that against you. Then again, I know what it's like to be mislead by somebody you trusted." she shrugged.

As Aria was having her moment with the dragon, she was suddenly nudged on the ground. "Hey!" A large nose was buried in her gut and she let out a belly-laugh. "Hey! Cut it out!" Aria tried her best to push the dragon away, but it kept nudging and sniffing at her sides and shoulders relentlessly. It was then she heard a familiar voice and looked over to see Torrin standing not too far away. "Something she wants... oh!" Aria remembered she slipped some chocolate into her pocket earlier, remembering Torrin's words about the Flammie having a sweet tooth. As soon as she pulled it out, the dragon sat back and tilted her head, turning in a circle and sitting down again. "Oh alright." Aria stood up and broke off some chocolate for the dragon. "Say ah~" Once the dragon open her mouth, Aria tossed the bits of chocolate in and watched as she devoured it whole. "That's all you wanted, yeah?" Aria giggled as she patted the dragon on the head and then looked to Torrin. "You were right! She does have a sweet tooth!"

When Lumen and Qamar were at the door, he winced a little bit when the girl gripped on the boys wrist tightly. Though he didn’t show it kinda hurt a bit, he’d have to be careful when she gets angered. After she spoke and let go of his hand, Lumen stretched it a bit to get his blood flowing again but it wasn’t a problem for him. “I understand that, but don’t let one fatal flaw bring you down. Otherwise you won’t get past it let alone overcome it.” The boy said giving advice for her, but she was also right about some parts of that session. Working together is vitally important however Lumen still felt insulted by Master Kaio’s comment about him being stupid and weak. He knew his own strength and he wasn’t be brought down by it.

He followed the girl into the room with a bow and leaned back on the wall as he listened to the conversation at hand. The boy was proud of her to admit that she’d needed more training. Though it wasn’t a big surprise, but still an unexpected one, that Qamar said that she’d work with Lumen again. Smirking at this he spoke out,
“I’d like to train with you again.” Kosmo finally landed on the boys shoulder as he caressed her little head for a while. “However I wish not to train right this second, kinda still exhausted and drained from that last battle. Didn’t expect it to be so challenging. With permission may I go set up my stuff in my room?” Lumen spoke kindly to the master as Qamar was talking to Chrys.
